InterRent car rental

While on holidays in Sicily we placed an online order for a car rental at the Palermo Falcone Airport in Italy for October 5th for pickup at 11:00 AM. The order was through the rental company Interrent under the Booking Number‭ [protected]. We paid the fee with our credit card in advance over the internet.

When arriving to pick up the vehicle the lineup at the combined Goldcar/Interrent stand was extremely long. We got into the line up at approximately 12:20 PM and after the wait time of nearly 2 hours we reached the counter. At the counter we were told that after 3 hours have passed our reservation for the car is turned into a no show and our reservation/conformation is closed and we are charged a no show fee. We did not receive a vehicle and did not get our fee returned.

While at the airport we called the service help line a twice to ask them about our reservation and reopen our confirmation as we were there to pick up the vehicle. During the first phone call we were hung up on when we tried to turn the call over to the service person at the desk we had just dealt with so they could explain how long the line up was and why would could not pick up the vehicle in the 3 hours. On the second call we got the phone to the local representative but were told both by the people on the phone and in person that they could do nothing to reopen the reservation and that we would be charged the fee.

Reviewing the terms and conditions after this event we cannot find this 3 hour pickup limitation, in fact our review after this incident indicates that we would have until close on the day of the rental pick up to get the vehicle. We were charged our fee, and did not get the car after that amount of time waiting in line. We chose to take our business to another service provider after this event as we believed we were not treated fairly.

We would like a full refund of our fee and the addition costs of the alternate rental covered at Interrent's expense as we believe they unjustly charged us for the rental.

InterRent charge made on credit card

€220 charge made on credit card without any advise what this was for? Contract number [protected] car picked up from Alicante airport on 14.9.19 and returned on 24.9.19.
Damage to front LH bumper noted by collection desk and photographed by desk on tablet prior to leaving car park. I also have photos recording damage on 14.9.19. Car returned with fuel tank also photographed so please advise?

InterRent car hire cost in excess of that booked on the internet

Booked a car through InterRent online. Murcia 25th sept to 2 Oct 2019. internet Booking reference confirmation attached below pages 1 and 2. At airport the cost requested by the attendant was in excess of the amount shown on my confirmation. see attached below. They had added an extra - Mega Relax Cover 23.14€, two amounts for diesel 14.46€ and 68.60€, smart return of 0.83€ and a cargo Oficina of 20.60€ instead of 13.85€ as per my confirmation. I argued this with the attendant who said I was wrong and the new amount was correct.In the end I had no choice but to take the car since we had no other means to get to our holiday.

I should have paid 226.21€ plus an additional driver cost of 55.64€ and fuel to be refunded if the car came back full of 83€...totalling 364.85€...Actual amount charged 419.53€! Overcharge of 54.68€. please can this be refunded.

InterRent late deposit

Hi, my name is Laura Gheorghe and i rent a car from 13.08 till 28.08 in Italy Bologna airport.
My customer number is [protected]

I have an issue, they still keep my deposit of €91 . I tried to contact them, but i didn't receive an answer.

I've added some add blue €15 i still have the recipe as well and i would like to return my money

Now i ve checked my current balance and surprise they took £48 pounds.

I will attached a photo and i would like to return my money asap because is not normal to keep till now .

I would not recommend your company .

InterRent double payment of hire and charged extra

I had booked a small car through Ryan air to be picked up at the interrent office in the Gran Canaria Airport building. Unfortunately I had forgotten the pin to my creditcard and we could not use the Ryan air contract. I had to take out a new contract with Interrent, which was extremely expensive and when we tried to drop off the car, they just took the keys and said okay. But, I then got an email at home with another bill saying that the car was dropped off too late and I was charged another Euros 42.80. We dropped the car off in the specified time and already on the plane when they said we dropped off the car. I did not receive a repayment of the Ryan air contract. This car hire cost us £ 378.39. I would call this daylight robbery. Kind regards A Woodford

InterRent car rental

I reserved a car for 25/09 to the 02/10 (1 week). This was supposed to be a "Ford Focus or similar".

On arrival, I was told that as I had "missed my slot" the only car available was a higher grade car. I was therefore charged additional for the rental and basic insurance (an additional €42.95)

I booked the rental through booking.com and at the time the booking form did not give me a pick up time option. It pre-set the collection time to 11:30am. Anyway, the gentlemen explained that as I was late that booking had gone and my only option through them was to take the higher graded car. He basically shrugged his shoulders and said that I should have booked it directly with InterRent and not through Booking.com. Hardly great customer service.

The "higher graded car" that they gave me was a Volkswagen Golf 1.0l! I fail to see how a 1.0l engine car is a higher grade than a "Ford Focus or similar" (the Ford Focus they were going to give me must have been really bad if this is the case!)

At present I feel as though I have been unfairly treated and am reluctant to use the company again. I am returning to Tenerife in January and will be hiring a car. Though this situation has made me seriously consider going elsewhere and suggesting to others that they do the same.

InterRent unauthorized credit card charges

We got ourself a car at Ibiza. At the pick up we noticed our car had some minor damage so obviously we filled in the form, both me and the employee signed for it and we were good to go. After our week we did bring back the car, checked the car together with the employee together with the filled in damage form. We got the confirmation that it was all good, no damage, no extra costs. We did sign again and left. Than all of a sudden I got an email a couple of hours later with a final settlement which said we got charged for €291 for the damage at the car for which we did fill in that exact same form earlier and which got signed for before. Noone at the customerservice is able to answer my questions and all they tell you is to fill in a complain on which they don't come back. Obviously I want the €291 which is being charged compensated.

I returned the hire car and the agent of Interrent looked around the car and I was told all is fine with the car and no further fines or fees would be charged to us - even though he pointed out that the car was a bit dirty than normal. Within 60 minutes, we were boarding our plane and received an email to say 150 euros would be charged to the card for cleaning bill. This is a criminal act and if you don't respond asap, I will be contacting my legal team to start legal proceedings. Also, my wife is a journalist at ITV and has over 25000 contacts on social media. Be very careful, you are in danger of serious misconduct. It's obvious this is a trick you try on most customers and it's about time it stopped

InterRent refuelling charge

I have submitted a complaint on 17. Sept via your website and have had no reply. incident number: 2281742

I have been charged 37euros for refilling the car with fuel but I filled the tank at the station nearest the airport so why have I been charged?
I have also tried to speak on the telephone abiut this but either your lines are busy or no one can help me.
This unauthorised charge is not acceptable so please can you look into my indident?

InterRent charge for returning car with full tank

I am hoping you can help me. I hired a car from 6 to 15 September on my recent visit to Bologna in Italy. On my return to the UK I have received an invoice from yourselves for 37 euros for returning the car without a full tank of petrol. I filled the car up just outside the airport so if there was a problem I would recommend that the accuracy of the fuel gage is checked because it was definitely on full when I filled up. Also the invoice you sent me was for 37 euros but I have been charged £55.19 on my Visa card!

InterRent tank and other payment

I rent a car at Alghero in Sardinia. When i return a car in 15.9.2019 with full tank they send me to pay for not full tank 37€. I try to contact them but nothing. And today they bill my mastercard not for 37€ but for 62€ and i cant contact them. This is totaly scam an [censored]. Never ever again rent a car here. Day don t have e-mail contact and nothing.

InterRent car hire

I travel to Spain several times a year. For the first time I rent a car from Inter Rent.
The experience was very bad. First I was charged 40 Euros extra for getting the car after 23h. Second the car was very dirty inside and outside (the staff's respond was: it is the car, take it or leave it! I was forced to have the car as there was no other option.
I delivered the car on time and I asked the receptionist kindly to check the car and confirm that everything was alright. He was not cooperative and said he did not do that and referred me to customer service. I asked him to confirm that he had received the car and he angrily put a stamp (Received) on my contact when I asked to put a date and time on it he was very upset and raised his voice. I asked his name he refused to give it to me. I could get the name in the end which was Eloy. Then he started to mock me by saying:" Do you want my social security number".
His behaviour was very bad.
Is this normal in this company?!

InterRent car rental

Hi!
I booked a car from car scanner and it was successfully confirmed!
(confirmation-Ref:IT448485400)
When i reaches the disk the employee told me that the driving license is not international! You can not use in italy! and you have to pay 100 euros to protect the company!

My license is written in english and very clear, and i have bean using it all around the world and no one said so!
And i ask other companies in the airport and they said its accepted in italy

Now me and my family our day in milan is wasted in the airport because of this problem!
We are in the airport waiting for immediate action from you
PLEASE DO SOME THING ASAP

InterRent car hire fuel cost - contrato [protected]

Car Hire 11/9 - 15/9.

The car was returned with a full fuel tank but the final account statement I have received shows a charge of 37 Euro, I made sure the car was re-fuelled (I only used 22 Euros of fuel) so surely there should be no charge?

Please remove the charge from the account. If this is not removed I will not be using Interrent again.

InterRent fuel charge

Just returned my car to gerona airport in Spain. I filled the vehicle to the brim at the airport. The gauge showed just under full but I couldn't get a drop more in. I returned to the goldcar/internet desk and explained this to them. Dave, the guy I spoke to said not to worry as sometimes gauge takes a while to register.
I then received an e mail invoice for €60. I am disgusted with them.
I have read that interent and goldcar are rip off merchants and they have now done me. NEVER AGAIN. SCAM ARTISTS.

InterRent service complaint and fiat punto

Hi, my name is Nives Spaninger and I have rented a car in Faro, Portugal on 12 sep. When we arrived at your office, first of all the girl at the counter was arogant and rude. She was not customer- kindly. Second thing, we rented a ford fiesta or something "simillar " not fiat punto! We pre-payed 220 for full inssurence and car and when we came there, we had to pay additional 165€ to avoid 1200€ cost in case of anything going wrong. I also called on rentalcars customer servise and they told us that cost of inssurence is only 220€.
Also the AC in the car wasn't working, only if we turn it on a full power, which give me a headache! Not to mentions that useage of full was a lot bigger because of AC.
I would never rent with you and I will give you a very bad rate/review on every tourist website possible !

InterRent unauthorized credit card charges

InterRent in Nice has unauthorized withdrawn 6o euros from my Master Card account. By phone I was told the amount should cover cleaning of the car!
I believe this issue is covered by the original contract, and I therefore demand the 6o euroes to be transferred back to my account.

InterRent the unfair charges

Good evening,

I am writing you regarding the final bill you sent me.
On your bill you stated i returned the car hired damaged.
According to your terms and conditions, if a car is been inspected on customers absents after this has been returned, and if any damage is spotted on the car, it is your responsibility to send to the customer the image or pictures before any amount can be debited from customers account, in my case i was charged an additional 517£ for a suppose damage without any sort of evidence. I will now demand for the pictures of the damage or i will have to proceed with legal action.

I look forward in your response to this matter within 48h or i'll ask for a full refund for the amount you have charged me.

InterRent unresolved claim! 6 months later!

Whilst renting a car I received a speeding ticket for going 36mph in a 30. The date of the incident took place in December 2018. The authorities sent the notification to Inter rent who then failed make me aware of any offence. Soon after I moved abroad unaware of unpaid penalties until 5 months after when my mother received a court notice for me as I failed to pay the previous penalty, which would of £100 but then raised £900 and 6 points on my license. I contacted Interrent who told me several times they had received no contact from the authorites about a speeding ticket because they would of made me aware and charged a 50 euro management fee. But I made them aware it would of been impossible for the authorities to gain personal details unless they had been provided by them, they finally agreed and ask me to submit a claim. I submitted a claim in late May and to up date 5 months later still haven't received any resolution and when I call I get told I must wait for a response. If anyone has any advice on the next steps I should take it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
