Intercape The bus just drove past us at engen garage without stopping

04 April 2022 I was supposed to leave at 22:30

I am sitting at the bus station graaff reinet, at the engen garage, kfc ant the ticket says 22:20. We have been here since 21:45 and when the bus passed we called because we have been waiting the whole time. I have called the office and they tell me there is nothing they can do because the bus passed.

Desired outcome: What must happen now because the reason for leaving is invalid that they don't pick people up here anymore

Intercape Horrible toilet smell

As soon as I entered the bus, I was welcomed by the foul toilet smell. The smell overtook the whole bus and I was nauseated the whole four hour trip. The trip was from Vredefort to Bloemfontein at 10:35am 1st of April.

Desired outcome: Please clean the bathrooms before departure.

Intercape "disappointed"

19 march 2022 - 1903220222pw395- bus to cape town from upington.

The internet showed the ticket was r850 when I got to intercape office in upington and bought my ticket the tickets was r1000 and then after the senior discount the ticket was then r850 please explain it I do not understand it.

The clock on the bus was the wrong time. Smelly bus.

No tv to watch on a 14 hour trip.

In the past the drivers prayed before leaving. Seems that it is not a christian bus service anymore, therefore the poor service delivery.

One driver was rude can't talk to one in a decent manner, barking at people when the other driver lost his way, woke up the rude driver and rude driver was walking barefoot, in a vest and his pants half open in the bus to help, one of the passengers had to go on gps to help them out of springbok. Aircon in bus could not cool the bus down with a bus that was fully loaded.

The toilets smell very badly and when you flush the toilet the toilet water and the pee sprayed all over you, smelling then the same as the toilet ga.

No tv in bus

A passenger with a knee operation was told by the call center she could sit on two a seats without noticing the drivers or put it on her ticket that was only paid for one seat. On every bus there is someone with a disability or something take the seats the drivers reserve for themselves and put people with disabilities there that it is not the other passengers responsibility to look after them that the driver can look after them. Because of the problem with the ticket not showing she could sit on two seats we had to wait for phone calls made etc to sort out the problem because the second seat was booked out to someone else and no others seats were available. Somehow overbooking happened someone in springbok had to be left behind because the bus was full and the person wanted to buy the ticket there. I can not recommend intercape to anyone really.

No one wearing masks, it is for the show, inside the bus everybody takes off his mask drivers don't wear masks

Desired outcome: Book tickets out by number, but let passengers choose where they want to sit. First come first serve for better seats.

Intercape Hygiene issues

I'm dissatisfied with Intercape services. They do not clean toilets. The entire ride was awful because of a smelly toilet. I couldnt eat or sleep because of the lack of hygiene. I kept vomiting.

Intercape Rude bus driver (Intercape)

I unfortunately had the worst ride ever from bus 708 from park Station to Nelspruit. The lady kept on reclining her chair and made my daughter very uncomfortable and I went to the assistant to come assist us and he came and unfortunately he spoke to the lady in a language that I never understood and after he told me that I must also recline my seat and walked away. Whilst I was just suprised of this attitude then the lady had cockroaches coming out her braids had to kill them and when I went to complain I was told that it's part of life and I must get used to it. Furthermore the bus had a terrible smell. As for the old man (assistant) who kept on coming to gang up against me with some of the passengers kept on talking in that language made a huge noise which was also irritating. The drivers and assistant from Intercape they need a lot of training and especially on customer care.

Intercape bus service

Sir/Madam,

I booked an Intercape bus from Johannesburg to Butterworth ,to travel on the 03/3/2022 trip and arrival date was the next day 04/03/2022. Whilst entering the bus the driver told us that they do not stop at Idutywa and Butterworth as the taxi men are fighting the buses etc.I ended going to East London and came back to Butterworth again. The day I was supposed to come back to JHB with Intercape I went to UMTATA by taxi to catch this bus ,at Ultra City..I was told in the Intercape office that the bus has left earlier.

So I missed this bus which was unfair to me , I blame Intercape authorities - you had all the information with you including the my email and cellphone number why I was not informed or advised either to cancel or that I must travel to the next pickup point and the exact time.?

Intercape company does not care about their customers I ended up travelling to JHB by this unsafe uncomfortable rude taxi driver and paid R700 whereas my ticket was only R468.

I will wait for the response and I have attached my ticket

Intercape Intercape bus 909 to cape town on the 6th of march 2022 at 20:00 driver was very rude and arrogant

My ticket clearly stated that I'm traveling with 2 children 1 on my lap and 1 will be on his on the seat paid for, we get into the bus and 5 year old is expected to seat somewhere far from me, I asked the driver for assistance and he was very rude and arrogant. What's the use of stating that you'll be traveling with kids if seats don't get reserved.

Intercape Driver: Rude, arrogant and intentionally set out to injure us

At Bellville the bus was in a hurry as it arrived upon its departure time of 18.15. My husband was busy weighing the bags and asked me to let the driver know that he's almost done. I did this and the driver very rudely told me 'but you are here mos, not there'. I walked away as I assumed we were on the same page.

Whilst waiting for our bags I stood outside with my disabled daughter and my son helped with the bags. The same driver came towards the office shouting at me to help weigh the bags, why am I just standing there! Question? Why was my husband weighing the bags in the first place, don't you have staff for that? We have just left Stutt in the eastern cape. We got off the bus for fresh air. My husband asked him he could smoke the driver again shouted that he was leaving and closed the doors with me halfway through. My husband had to physically block the door. I asked when the next stop would be and he just said Next stop, next stop.

Desired outcome: I would like to be provided with an apology and refunded a portion of the 4 tickets paid as there was no intertainment either. Also because the door closed on my back

Intercape Price I saw the price from Johannesburg to Durban

I bought the ticket at 8:30 for the bus leaving at 9:00 but the bus arrived late to pick us up the arrival time it was written 16:30 but until now I'm at Pietermaritzburg I expected the charging points for my cell phone but this bus doesn't have. The price I saw online was different from the one at parkstation online price R219 and at the counter R300 the lady shouted at me like a kid I'm so disappointed in this bus and the service and I will tell my close friends and family members not to use this bus until you make good service for people whom are playing

Desired outcome: I want a good treatment and a half price for me and my wife while going back to Johannesburg on Wednesday

Intercape Lateness and bus condition

Was booked for a return from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg for 3.20am today. The bus comes one hour late. There is no explanation or apology by the staff on duty.

This is the second time I have used this bus service within a month and been given a broken seat. So after standing for an hour waiting for the bus I cannot even relax.

The standard and service of the company is deteriorating. Something needs to be done as quickly as possible.

Intercape Late service

Booked bus ticket for the 22nd February 2022 from Sedgefield at 02h45 to arrive in CT at 09h45.

Had a appointment in Cape Town at 13h00, which is more than enough time.

Bus was 4 hours late!

I then had to hire a vehicle to get to my appointment on time

When I requested a refund I was refused.

Why is this my fault?

Intercape Late Bus

I booked a ticket for the 12th February 2022 from Swellendam to Belville due to arrive at 6 am as i wanted to get to the airport in time for my flight to Durban. Only in the evening of the 11th i was notified that the bus was going to be 3 hours late meaning i was going to miss my flight (financial complications). I tried to adjust the ticket which took me more than an hour and adjusted with R 390.00. While at the bus pick up point later on i was notified that the bus would be 6 hours late again. I had to rent a car to Cape Town and had already missed my flight.

Intercape Consultant changed wrong ticket

I would like to lodge a complaint as one of your assistant changed the wrong ticket which was my return ticket for 6 January 2022 and I wasn't aware when I clearly asked them to change my forward ticket for the 23 December 2021 to the 20th and eveb paid tge difference that was asked for

I only got aware as I was trying to cancel my return ticket. Now they say the other ticket shows has been unused now they say its been forfeited of which it wasn't my mistake by so saying I would like a refund...

And I have already sent an email to the complaints department and haven't received any response since December 2021

Your assistance in this matter will highly be appreciated

Intercape Rudeness off personal 2. Late busses 3. No notification to paid ticket holders off busses running very late

Yesterday my child was travelling from klerksdorp to potchefstroom on bus reg no icg802 gp. It was due to arrive at 4h45 at the protea hotel klerksdorp. It arrived at 17 h50 and left at 18h05 nearly 2 hours late. Their was two men in black clothes one had two stripes on each shoulder. When I spoke to him about the busses late and nobody called to inform us off any delays he was very rude. And stood outside the bus and smoke where their was lots off other people and kids around. It s not a publis smoking place and thus illegal

Intercape The bus had left but had never arrived at the stop

Goodmorning, I'm here to comply a complaint on whereby I booked a ticket from Graaff-reinet to Bellville on 22 January 2022 for the same date/day the bus was supposed to depart from Engen Garage @22:50 pm. I got there early but already there was an Intercape bus, I approached the driver of the bus and he had said to me that the bus I had booked for (Budgetliner) he the driver had left the bus behind at Cradock. And he stated that his driving a Mainliner and he was supposed to pick up a person in Beaufort Wes. I called the call center an hour later to ask about the where abouts of the bus I had booked and they had said the bus had departed @22:48 pm.

Desired outcome: I would like to be refunded my money back

Intercape Bus was late and staff was rude

Today the 16.01.2022 I was suppose to catch a but from Johannesburg at 6pm to Cape Town however the bus was 3 hours late and in those hours waiting we not offered anything to drink nor snack on... EVENTUALLY WHEN THE BUS ARRIVED AN INTERCAPE MEMBER WAS VERY RUDE AS HE WAS CHECKING THE TICKETS, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS VERY BAD AND WOULD NOT RECOMMED IT TO ANYONE IF THIS IS HOW CUSTOMERS ARE BEING TREATED.

Intercape Service

My son is currently travelling to Mthatha from Midrand by Intercape bus number 602 using route 0209. The drivers are very rude. The first incident happened when he took a bus at the Midrand, Big Birg Engen Garage. He had a luggage bag and they refused that he goes in with the bag. They requested that we go back to the check-in office and we willingly took our bags when the driver started to shout and said the child must put the bag in his laps. In the process the child forgot his ticket and we took the picture and sent it via WhatsApp. The drivers threatened that he cannot travel without the printed ticket and they didn't explain what can be done to mitigate the problem.
Drivers deal with people who don't understand the processes of the company. The least they need to learn is to willingly explain to passengers.

Desired outcome: The complaint must be addressed.

Intercape Bad service and experience

Good day

I want to bring the following to your attention that was quite an appalling and emotionally wrecking experience my mother had on one of your busses. I made a booking for my mother to travel from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town, return on 21/12/2021 and 03/01/2022.

When we got to the bus in Port Elizabeth at 06h30 I specifically went to the driver and assistant and asked if they perhaps had an additional step as my mom is not able to lift her leg very high and that she will require assistance getting in and out of the bus. They informed me that there was no step and assured me that they will provide assistance to her for getting in and out. She had to also transfer onto the shuttle to Paarl in Somerset Wes.

Absolutely no assistance was given and my mom was eventually helped by some fellow travelers. At the transfer point she tried to get into the shuttle bus, again without any assistance as non was provided, and she had a nasty fall. She was again assisted by fellow travelers who also had to pick her up from the floor as she could not get up. Please see attached photo's of her legs taken two weeks later when she returned via AIROPLANE from CT.

My mom was so traumatized by this experience that we had to buy a plane ticket as she just could not take another trip on your bus (note, a return ticket was bought for your bus). I am shocked and appalled that this is the service given, taking into account that most of your travelers are elderly citizens going to visit their families etc.

One thing I can definitely say for sure is that I will never make use of your services again and will definitely not recommend Intercape to anyone I know.

Another FYI, only hands were sanitized when entering the bus, no-one's temperature was taken or monitored.

Intercape Driver and conditions

My aunt bought me and my two small children bus tickets from intercape through shoprite. From Bethlehem to Amanzimtoti for the 02 December 2021. The bus arrived late and on arrival the bus driver climbed out of the bus and asked whom he was picking up, me and my boyfriend told him it was me and the 2 children which was already asleep as it was past midnight he then proceeded to tell us that the children should be awake as we knew the bus was coming. He asked where my laggage was and through it in the compartment on the side of the bus without marking my luggage. As we rushed to the enterance of the bus as he told us he was late and did not have time to wait for us he grab my 4 year old son and walk up the stairs to the front of the bus, there was 2 seats open but them told me children are not allowed to sit at the front of the bus, he then picked up my son and proceeded to move deeper into the bus and them chased another passenger out of a seat and told me and my boyfriend that me and my children would sit here, i told him that it was only 2 seats and we payed for 3 but he just waved his hand and moved to the front of the bus. My boyfriend was helping me to get the children comfortable when the driver just took of and my boyfriend ran to the front of the bus to stop the bus as he still had to get off the bus. The driver told him that he is waisting his time and my boyfriend got off and the driver took off over the pavement. I have never been so scared in my life. The driver drove really fast and reckless for a while my son slept on me but he was uncomfortable so i had to sit on the floor. When we stopped at Montrose the passengers complained that the toilet was overflowing and he told them to wait until we got to Durban. I have since phoned [protected] twice the first time i spoke to a lady, whom i unfortunately did not get her name, took my number and a lady with the name Jessica would call me back, nobody phoned me. The second time was a few days later i phoned again and a Tasmiha told me Jessica was busy and would phone me back i have not heard anything frrom them.
