Bad service by Intercape

My employee left Malawi on the Lilongwe bus on 7 Feb 2020 arrived in Johannesburg on 8/2/2020.

The ticket number is 0702203355TY040

She had several bags of goods that she travelled with and these were packed in one compartment according to her knowledge. As the goods were being packed, they were told they should not label their names on the bag, but rather have the goods listed on a list. She only realised at the Mozambique border that there is one bag missing and they told her no one claimed it so, they have left it at the Dedza border. They later organised for the bus leaving on Saturday to take the bag for her, the driver of that bus called her and advised he has taken the bag and she should have R1000.00 ready in order to collect it. This bag packaging fee charged by Itercape was already paid for in Lilongwe when the passenger boarded the bus. The only fee payable at the Dedza border is equivalent to R96.00

This bag of rice costed me R700.00 only in Malawi. So she refused the offer and told the driver that she cannot afford the fee, but the tone of voice was forceful and she was not given an opportunity to refuse the offer. On Monday the 10th of February, my employee presented herself at the park station to collect the bag and was met by Victor the driver who told her to pay the R1000 or leave, later he went down to R500. she protested until the manager France got involved. Victor that morning denied ever having the bag, he claimed the bag was left at the border as it was expensive to bring through to South Africa.

I asked my employee to put Victor the driver on the phone and I told him off. He claimed he spent R500 collectively as each border demanded a fee to cross with the bag. I told him to show me receipts because my employee was charged R942 at Beitbridged for 6 bags of goods and a receipt was issued. How can one bag be R500.0? I had a heated argument with Victor and he threatened to take the bag back to Malawi and leave it at the border, later on he decided he will just keep the bag for himself. This is daylight robbery being practiced by this Staff member and driver of Intercape bus.. Intercape Management must do something about such employees who exploit customers and end up tainting the name of the institution they are working for.
