Inspect Browser Best I’ve found for iPadOS

I’m transitioning more and more to my iPad when I can but there are certain things I have to pull the Mac out for. I don’t have the expectation that this app perform flawlessly all the time, but it works very well for most purposes and makes it so I have one less thing I have to pull the Mac out for in 95% of instances I need a web inspector in my use cases.

I consider it $7 well spent and thank the developer for their work.

Inspect Browser Does just what it says on the tin, and more!

This is an incredible app, and for the price? Even more mind blowing.

This app replicates many of the featured you'd expect from the web developer tools in a full featured desktop computer browser - on your iPad! No bothering to a Mac required!

Super cool for anyone who might want to pull out the magnifying glass and do a deep dive into how their favorite site is put together.

Seriously impressive quality here top to bottom. Well done!

Inspect Browser missing basic features

i liked this app but i think it’s missing basic browser features like choosing preferred search engine on url bar so if any user would like to use google as his search engine, and i don’t know why i cannot set my preferred homepage or bookmarking websites because at the end it’s a browser even though it has developer features! anyone else may would like to use it as his default ipad browser.

i would give this browser 10 stars if this features were implemented.

thank you

Inspect Browser Not quite there

Purchased this app to debug an issue for work that only happens on a physical iPad. Safari doesn’t show elements after a recent update so it was my hope I could use this.

The tap to select does literally nothing but highlight the element. It doesn’t show where the element is in the dom, or give me any way to debug which is exactly what I needed it for. Complete waste of money. This is a work site so I can’t send it to the developers to find out what the issue is. Is there some trick to getting all elements to display?

Inspect Browser Outstanding, can’t wait for more!

Thank you for bringing this tool to us. There’s a LOT of work that can be done on the go or on a machine like this.

I can’t wait to keep using it. Right now the only thing that I wish I could do was customize the interface more. Just random thoughts:
- Showing/hiding ANY toolbars
- Maybe a toolbar system where you could drag/drop the windows around (I do see the view switch options which are helpful)
- Option to hide the tab bar
- Small icons/UI scale

Again, I’m having so much fun in this and thank you for making a great tool.

Inspect Browser This app is game-changing

I’ve been doing personal web development via a remote server from my iPad (almost exclusively) for a year now. This app is a game changer for me. Specifically being able to modify and adjust CSS like in a desktop web inspector, as well as easily modifying the DOM. Sounds simple coming from desktop web development world, but I haven’t found another app that does this.

I would highly suggest spreading the word so that this app can continue to get attention and polish. The other web-dev apps I used were so-so and lost a lot of attention over time, and this app is already great so I hope the developer runs with it!

Inspect Browser Nice app, but missing a few features

Great app. It’s nice to have some form of web inspector on the iPad.

I’m rating 3*, as it is missing a few common features. You don’t have the ability to “pretty print” JavaScript. I’d love to have a de-minifiy and de-obfuscate, using source maps (if available). I couldn’t find a way to set breakpoints or use step-by-step debugging. It’s great I can see the source code, but from a dev point of view, I can’t really edit JS on the fly. The Storage option is limited to cookies. I’d love to inspect Session, Local Storage, it doesn’t seem to show anything though. Having some insight to memory usage would be awesome.

Inspect Browser Essential tools for web dev on iPad, works

I have only been using this app a short time now, but I can say that it works as promised. Element Inspector? Check. HTML source? Check. JavaScript console? Check (no Debugger, though). Cookie/local storage browser? Check. Network trace? Check. All of these critical features seem to work, and are absolutely essential to portable delving. I can’t find anything else like it out there. Easily worth $7.

That said, there are certainly some bugs and some missing features, and it does feel a bit “rough around the edges.” Honestly, I can’t complain, though. It aims to be a critical tool in my new ultra-portable setup moving forward. I truly hope that the developers will continue to make releases for this app into the future. Thanks!

Inspect Browser A solid app, seems to have frequent updates

This app is super fast and allows you to use the JS console and see the CSS rules and computed values. You need to dig through the DOM manually, no ability to tap to select elements. For me the biggest wins would be the ability to edit HTML and CSS rules and have the page update so you can test changes (Dev said this is coming soon!). Code syntax highlighting would help and needs standard shortcuts for Cmd+L, Cmd+R, etc. The responsive testing mode work great - you can quickly test different viewport widths and even test wider layouts than your iPad supports via zoom. Recommended.

EDIT: I completely missed the (really obvious) "Select by touch" toggle which works very well. Thanks for the reply and I'm looking forward to the next update!

Inspect Browser Must have for Web App Developers

This is everything I had hoped it would be... if you develop using chrome’s inspect element and other tools you will not be disappointed.

Tap to inspect element takes you right to the element you are trying to assess figure out what is happening with.

It allows you to put in specific responsive sizes - which means even though this is on an ipad - you can scale it to a desktop resolution or a phone - YES!

Inline style adjustments!

View the console, network... this has it all.

You can put your inspector on the side or the bottom - I am just thrilled with this app.. thrilled!

VERY HAPPY!

SO if you are a web app developer who has been wanting to develop on your ipad on the go - this is a must-have option. Using this alongside a good editor like CODA (which has ssh, web dav, multiple site management etc) and design tools like photoshop for ipad - you can do it and leave your laptop at home.

Inspect Browser Ehh. No EMCA 6 Support (Updated)

It’s pretty cool to have a browser with inspector, so props to that. But for any serious developer, this doesn’t support EMCA6. You can debug react apps or even use any modern JS. That’s pretty weak.

Still, it’s well designed, but they definitely dropped the ball on the JS engine. It’s a decent start and heading in the right direction. For anybody considering this for modern development, I’d recommend saving the $7, for now. I’ll update my review should the time come in the future that’s it’s deemed appropriate.

Edit: after reviewing the developers comment, I tried a different example ([1,2,3].forEach(x=>console.log(x))) and this worked. Originally, I had tested using a “let” and was greeted with an error. My guess is that this is rather a scope issue than a EMCA issue. Also, assuming the developer is correct (which he is) regarding all iOS apps using the same engine, this can’t be the developers fault and as such, I’ve updated my rating to 5/5.

Inspect Browser This app is exactly what I have been looking for

I will be giving a more thorough review at a later time but I wanted to immediately provide a comment here to express my views on this app.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Needless to say, an iPad will not replace a laptop/desktop when it comes to web development but man does this app provide me the extra bit of convenience I need to view a page source, execute functions from within the console, and jam out a bit of css here and there on existing or new elements!

There are times when I cannot be whipping out a laptop just to do these little bit of “testing and poking” and I have always been bummed that such an app like this did not exist (or so I thought).

To the developer(s):
Please implement a way for me to obtain a selector for a chosen element, similar to how in Google Chrome we can right click > copy > copy selector (or JavaScript path). Also, can you provide me a way to view the “Elements and console” in the same panel?

Your app is already a 5 star app, I love it. If you could implement the above two things, then this would really be more than I could have hoped on an iPad (without using Jump, Chrome RDT, MS RDT to connect to my desktop).

Thank you so much for coming up with this app. I do hope you find this review helpful.

Inspect Browser If you’re reading this, buy this app

I had my reservations about this app before buying, but it is exactly what I’ve wanted. This is the thing I needed to completely get all my dev work on my iPad possible. It has all the features you’d expect from a web inspector on the iPad: resizing the panels works flawlessly, multitasking is enabled and drag and drop works inside the web browser and console.

It has all the features you would expect from your browser’s DEV tools:
- Tap on an item to inspect it
- View the whole DOM tree with elements being collapsible
- View the CSS rules being applied to the element you’re looking at and edit them
- Responsive design view
- Ability to disable cache when loading a page

Here are the only issues I’ve found with it so far:

- The text when being inputted into the console is not monospace, which is just a minor issue (the output is monospace and configurable)
- Sometimes the DOM view bugs out with how the text is displayed. It is still functional but not easily readable. Fixed when page is refreshed
- The app would be more smooth if it supported keyboard shortcuts. Like CMD+option+i to toggle the dev tools and using the arrow keys to navigate the DOM

I hope that the app developer changes this to some sort of subscription because I would happily pay $5 a month for this app, $6 for forever is insane and I want this app supported. Plus, if it is a subscription people can do a free trial and realize this is the app they’ve always needed. I think making the app look a little more familiar looking to other dev tools may help people purchase this app too, because at first I did not notice the power that this app has.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS

Inspect Browser Disappinted

So the JavaScript errors are reported and that’s great... but the source code do not have a row number... so that defeated the purpose since you can not find the reported error... amateurish at best...

This can indicate that the registrar has lax verification processes, making it easier for scammers to register domains without providing accurate information.
  • Apps.pdyn.net has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The apps.pdyn.net may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
