On several occasions I've frequented the Ingles gas station and typically the cashiers are friendly. I've now come across an older gentleman who is not only outright rude but a tad bit racist. I've worked in the customer service industry in some form my entire life and have never seen this type of blatant attitude. On one occasion when attempting to pay for gas the older gentleman slides the drawer out for us to pay. Normally you insert a card into the machine if there is a chip on your credit card. We failed to notice this machine was different and kept trying to insert when we should've slid the card. This older gentleman rudely states "It says slide the card". We looked at his rude demeanor and simply smiled while the transaction was completed. On the next day I was driving and noticed that my tire pressure light was on so prior to getting on the highway that morning I stopped by the same Ingles gas station to put air in my tire. Keep in mind the air machine is located in the rear of the cashiers booth. As I'm on the ground placing air in my tire he comes out I guess to see what's going on. I didn't think this interaction was bad this time. Now the very next morning I make a stop to put gas in my vehicle. I noticed as I pull in the lights closest to the cashiers both were out on the pumps but only the lights that were at the far end on each side were on. My practice is never pump gas on the end especially in the mornings for safety concerns. I go to the pump next to the cashiers booth. Although the light was off the pumps were still on. I simply leave my headlights on and pay at the pump while pumping my gas. As I take notice of my surroundings who do I see, the same older gentleman staring at me almost in disbelief. There was jazz playing on the Ingles radio so at least this made my visit much better. When I'd finished fueling my vehicle, I politely got in my car looked at that same cashier smiled and waved at him. He sat there stared at me as if he hated his job and didn't even wave back. In order for consumers to continuously frequent your stores then it's necessary that employees are welcoming. Why work in a customer focused environment if you lack personal skills with what it appears to be a certain type or color of individual. This is ridiculous and should be addressed as I frequent your stores and gas stations very often.
