I use indeed.com to look for work. But lately, this website has disappointed me. I would see what company is hiring, and go and get an application. But when I go to get an application, the employer would tell me they are not hiring and never was. Like for example, I went to cvs to apply for two jobs that were listed in indeed.com, and I went to the manager to introduce myself and get a job application. But he told me that indeed.com always places them on their website telling people they are hiring, when really they are not hiring at all. This website shouldn't even be online. I feel they are a scam job website.

I applied for a job on Indeed.com. I was sent an application. They wanted my Birth Date, Social Security Number, how much do I want to be paid, how much did I make at my last jobs, when did I graduate from High School, my address. This is not information that should be shared for a interview processes. This should not be allowed under any circumstances. Indeed.com needs to make it clear to the employers posting job ads that this practice is a unacceptable until you are hired. Identity theft is a really problem, and it should take priority for US, the job seekers!

they also take down bad reviews of companies. when asked to by that company.
so you can't really get a real review of a company, such as the fairmont hotels, told us as employees not to leave a negative review online, as they will just contact the website to get it removed.

Please beware of Lake Royale hiring for the clerical assistant. I´ve search online and nothing came up in
Winnipeg. One search was coming up in North Carolina.

Good for you though...everyone should be smart enough to do due diligence on an employer that they apply for a job with. I have always done this.

Indeed is a scam site. i submitted two applications recently. both companies responded and both are scams. as result, i lost 900 dollars to this indian con artist who pretends to be a legitimate recruiter. i have also wasted hours upon hours in traveling to this interview location on my second application. just to find out that they are not hiring when i walk in. total bs. i would advise against anyone in using this vile service without verification. i reported the first scam to the police, but they told me there is nothing they could do. somebody should terminate this website.

There are so many scams on Indeed I don't know how they stay in business. Every one should report them to Attorney Generals office in your area. When they get many complaints the office will investigate them and do something about it. I filed a report and they sent a letter stating they are in the process of investigating this company.

I would not recommend Indeed AT ALL. We had our ad up for front desk/receptionist for 24 hours and received 278 resumes. That would be great if a majority of them were qualified candidates, but they weren’t. Several whose resumes were 9-10 lines long for the entire resumes – including their name, address, and headings. One resume actually read, “I’ve never had a job, but I think I’d be good at this position.”

We had 14 interviews scheduled through Indeed applicants. One asked the day before to reschedule and one canceled 30 minutes before her interview. Out of the 12 left would you like to know how many showed up for their interview? One. Eleven people were no-shows. Completely unprofessional and rude and an utter waste of our time. I will never use Indeed again.

I've submitted countless applications through InDeed, Career Builder, and Monster and NEVER hear from the so called employers that are hiring. 20 plus years experience and well educated, but not one call for an interview? These sites are waste of time.

I applied for a job through Indeed and now getting tons of spam emails every day about phony jobs openings. It obviously was a fictitious job listing and they have sold my email to spammers. I usually do not apply through job boards but go directly to the company website to apply. Just wanted to let everyone know that Indeed is not reputable and to not use them at all.

They advertised a job. Had to call the number was told to send a message with details. Got a sms inviting me for an interview. Got there, had to pay R95, was told if I receive a message for second interview I must bring R850 with then I will be contacted by the client. The interviewer couldn't give me the name of her company, said it was private.

Indeed is definitely a scam. I am currently unemployed and been applying for jobs for months. I only been called and emailed by jobs that I never applied to. Last month I applied for a front desk attendant position for $17 an hr and it happened to be a scam by APC services. I am done with indeed.

Out of all the applications I have filled out on Indeed this was the first time someone had approached me and it was by a scammer. I copied and paste what he wrote me so others could beware. After I asked him to give me a call and his web site information he no longer emailed me back. I googled indeed reviews just to see if anyone had been through what just happened to me and its a shame. Indeed needs to be taking down if they are not going to do investigations in the people who Post JOBS! They are playing with people lives and some people want a job so badly they fall to scams like this. They play on peoples emotions when all we want to do is find a damn job.

Indeed.com is an unprofessional and scam website. The jobs are frequently made up or so old they aren't longer available. Additionally, they allow anyone to post anything on company review websites calling out other workers in identifiable ways. When I tried contacting the company they told me that they were following indeed policies for submission. I have had my resume on this site for a year and have applied to over a 100 jobs and nothing. Don't waste your time with indeed, use another job search site!

If you want to spend hours going in a circle and never getting to apply by all means go for it.
No one needs this much information.
I would rather start up my own business than ever apply at Pet co Sears
or any retail that uses your service.
Its stupid

I have been using indeed desperately looking for a job and instead of potential jobs I get nothing but harassing scam callers and emails. Now they are calling me references which makes me embarrassed because I use these people as my references for positive feedback on my work ethic. Why don't they research these companies before they allow these fake jobs to be posted. This site is no better then Craigslist.

I see indeed employees responded and gave excuses.

BOTTOM LINE the jobs are over 30 days outdated and when you visit the companies website they don't have the jobs listed that indeed does. when I called a hotel chain in durham, nc to inquire about a part time job indeed had listed the manager told me it was an independently owned and operated hotel and they DID NOT list that job on indeed.

so somebody is a liar

I'm writing this complaint with high level of disappointment and anger.
First of all -" no phone number provided for employees"
this is absolutely unacceptable.
Phone representatives from america are all children?
secondly- you are not allowed to uploaded your cv you must fill in in form they provide!
highly incompetent and just simply stupid as while having 50 jobs on your cv, now one have to write them all down state exact dates of start and finishing of the job with all your duties included. I won't even mention school history skills etc.
This site is an absolute joke
please avoid !

WARNING: Indeed.com IS a scam perpetrated by for-profit universities. They copy and paste old job listings and then just change the date. Some job listings are completely made up. After posting your resume to the indeed website you will begin receiving solicitation phone calls for these for-profit universities. This is a very sophisticated scam operation that preys on people desperate for work. Please do not fall victim to this scam. If you have posted your resume to the indeed website, you should delete immediately. You will notice however, they will make it very difficult for you to completely delete your account. If ANY company makes it difficult for you to cancel or delete your account, then it is definitely a scam.

I used indeed.com to get my current job which I have had for over 2 years. I recommend it to others looking for work, but always warn people not to put their phone number or email address due to scams.

Received a text from an unknown New Mexico number [protected].

Today I received a text message from [protected] by guy named Jason. He would not provide his last name. Unable to understand the company he works for. I never provided my name, but he said he had a job offering & that a lady would provide more information. He said my name & number was found on indeed.com. Which is impossible, because my public resume does not show my number or email address. It also does not contain my name, but an abbreviated name. I was hung up on 7 times within about 10 minutes. Sounded like the guy was reading a script. Did not have an American accent. Sounded like a Nigerian or similar ethnic background. I say sounded like Nigerian, because it was similar to another voice I heard from in the past that contact me on the phone via voice. In the incident today, the guy said he was in a meeting after I told him I was fed up with the dropped calls & no longer interested. He told me I can text him my information or questions and he can respond.

This person had my full name, which worries me. I have reported this number to my cell company, FBI, & NCSI (because this person called a Government issued cell phone).

I have also been scammed by inded.com job posting and I am an avid user of the site. If I would have know that this site has breaches then I would have never posted my resume. My only problem is that I have went on an interview and paid for a training that I never was called in for. Please see below and if this so called company is near your city or town please stay away. This was three weeks ago and my next step is to get an attorney and report this to the FBI. There is white collar crime going on and these pathetic folks are walking with valuable information from phony postings interviews. INDEED needs to do a better job filtering the company's posting positions.

The site is near worthless agreed. I canceled my 'subscription' or membership with them weeks ago, but no par. I still receive their junk emails. Hello Spam. Their automated system relentlessly sends me junk job postings from a major Midwest retailer, whom I am registered with to receive job blast emails. But they always open to the Indeed page mysteriously. It's like those bogus debt collectors who buy old debts or worse.. peoples accounts, claiming the debt ownership. Steer clear of Indeed.

The jobs posted are not current. Many jobs that are listed either do not exist or are outdated. I have found jobs, searched the company and many times the company does not exist; or the company does not have the jobs indicated and or never did. In Canada, this is apparently a common scam so statistics compilers can boast about how many jobs there are out there. The CBC show Rick Mercer even joked about the bogus jobs. I recommend that one DOES NOT create a profile or upload your resume to this web portal, I am now getting spam emails from god knows who now.

Indeed.com traps employers into posting jobs for free and then requires credit card info. After a year, of not hearing from them, they charge the card for the outdated job post that never get removed! Once the payment is stopped though, they find the time to send an invoice. They have an employee suddenly available even. Incredible! They even scam employers. My thought is this company is actually owned by the mafia. The streets are not very good for pickpockets nowaday, they use the web. I would not have believed this could happen in Canada.

I have been scammed once on indeed. They stole $2000 from me. Another "company" attempted to scam me but I knew it was a scam as soon as they asked me to send money for the training and equipment I would need and couldn't even provide me with information on the vendor. This site does not care about the integrity of the companies they are representing. They are just here to make money just like any other business. I will never use them again and I will advise against using them to everyone I know. I would hate for anyone to have to go through what I went through.

Indeed took my job posting and posted it on their site, without my knowledge. I continue to get applicants one week after the deadline, who do not meet the citizenship/permanent resident criteria. Where did Indeed poach my job ad from? What aspects of the posting did they alter/not bother to post? It is enough work managing all the incoming applications without having to shift out Indeed applicants who don't meet the criteria.
