I couple of months ago I noticed that Indeed was asking for an e-mail address and phone number just to do a simple search on their website. You can see one page of jobs but after that your are prompted first for an email address and then a phone number for two factor certification.

I can understand this if I am logging into my Indeed account (which I do not have) where my personal information (i.e resume, etc) is stored. But there is no reason for me to give them this information just to do a general search on their website. I do not like to give out my phone number unless it is absolutely necessary due to all the spam calls occurring.

I reached out to their customer service and they said all of their systems & functionality were now locked down with two factor authentication. If I wanted to do a general search I had to have an account with them that required both an e-mail address and phone number. No future plans to change this policy.

Recommendation: If you want to keepy your information private, PLEASE use a different job website like Monster ot Glassdoor.
