As an Employment Specialist supporting over 300 individuals in their job search, I once considered Indeed a valuable tool in the employment ecosystem. Unfortunately, its recent shift toward mandatory account creation has rendered it functionally inaccessible for professionals like myself who require open, efficient access to job listings.
This design choice prioritizes data collection over user experience, creating unnecessary friction in a process that should be streamlined and inclusive. Unlike other platforms—such as Job Bank or SaskJobs—Indeed now places a gate between job seekers and opportunity, undermining its own mission.
Accessibility should be a cornerstone of any employment platform. Indeed’s current model fails that standard.
