IEC Property Services Corporation

We used to rent from IEC Property Services Corp. for The ***. We've been trying to reach them for weeks, but they haven't responded to our calls or voicemails. They're trying to charge us an incorrect balance of $965.82 and $160.97, but we don't owe that because we were basically kicked out. We lived there for five months and had ongoing problems with water leaks and dangerous mold. Legally, they were supposed to provide and maintain livable conditions, but they failed to do so. For four out of the five months, things didn't improve and actually got worse. We had to deal with 3-5 water bugs in our apartment every day, and we called the leasing office every day, but they never fixed the problem. We have emails and other proof to back this up. Also, I'm pregnant and worried about our safety.

I lived in this place for a year and 40 days. When we were about to move out, we asked if they had a form to fill out, but they said they don't take it. I still sent one anyway. Before we left, our apartment got flooded. The front office told us that homeless people were staying in the vacant unit upstairs, and we should call them or the police because they were causing damage. We had mold on our ceilings because of the flood, and we called them multiple times, but they never came. They said not to worry about the charges for the mold or water damage since we were moving out. But they lied and sent us to collections. First, they said it was for rent, and then they said it was for damages and cleaning fees. They even promised to reimburse us for our cracked windshield, but they lied and sent us to collections for all these charges. Now, it's almost impossible to contact them since they sold the apartment complex. They gave us an email and number to contact, but they blocked our number and didn't answer our email. It's been such an unprofessional experience. I'm a college student trying to get by, and they want me to pay over *** in collections from charges they said they would waive and never charge us to begin with. It's such a stressful situation, and my roommate, my dogs, and I even got sick from all the mold exposure. We have no resolution to this situation. Please help us as we just want to resolve this.

I lived at a place with an unpronounceable name and it was bought by an unnamed entity. My lease ended in October and I never got a new one from the new owners. I kept paying my rent but decided to move out due to COVID. I told the manager that I wanted to move out on November 15 but she said I needed to give 30 days notice. She told me to talk to her superior, but I couldn't get in touch with either of them. I left a letter saying I would move out on November 7 but the manager never contacted me about it. She never told me I would have to pay last month's rent or lose my security deposit. She didn't even do a final walkthrough of the apartment. Now the new owners are threatening to sue me and take my deposit. I have good credit and don't want to run from my responsibilities.
