I am a resident of Honiton, Devon and dined with my family at our local Premier Inn on 17th May 2026.
As a regular corporate customer (GVAV Ltd), I am aware of the Parking conditions that operate at your sites, administered by Horizon Parking.
On arrival at the hotel I was asked to register my vehicle, and was directed towards a Cardboard sign with a QR code. I scanned the code with my iPhone, this opened the Horizon Parking page where I entered my Registration number and took a screen shot of the 2-hour parking authorisation (because no receipts are issued).
The data relating to the screen shot is automatically recorded onto my iPhone and clearly shows the registration number of the vehicle, date and time (attached). This all corresponds to the arrival time and date at the hotel. Horizon parking then sent out a PCN and refuse to accept the screen shot as evidence. My next step is to make a complaint to the Parking ombudsman and pursue this in court as no offence had taken place. There is no option to obtain any form of receipt for the authorised parking on the site, and so Horizon Parking is unfair to ask for such when it simply does not exist. It is not the responsibility of your patrons to ensure that the equipment used for registering parking is adequate and functional. I would respectfully ask for this practice by your parking contractor to be investigated and for my case to be dismissed immediately. Should you wish not to engage then I shall engage a solicitor and pursue a claim in a court of law for lost time and distress..
Claimed loss: TBC
Desired outcome: Parking Notification to be dismissed due to supporting evidence clearly showing that no offence had taken place.
