HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK (holidaylettings.co.uk) - A Warning: Thieves Who Take Advantage of Their Customers!

I had a booking with HolidayLettings UK (holidaylettings.co.uk) for the Second Line To The Beach Villa Near Puerto Cabopino, Marbella! (***) in 2019 for the Easter break in 2020. Unfortunately, COVID 19 ruined my plans and I had to reschedule it for Easter weekend in 2021. However, due to UK legal legislation and Spain only accepting Spanish residents to travel into Spain, I had to request another postponement to 2022.

To my dismay, I received a Good Stiff Ignoring (GSI) from the company. I had already spent over ?2.5K for this trip and when I tried to postpone another booking for last October (for the same reasons), I was again given a GSI. This means that I have lost ?5.5K in total, and both HolidayLettings and the owners have taken that money!

I strongly advise against booking through this company and especially not for the Second Line To The Beach Villa Near Puerto Cabopino, Marbella! They are nothing but thieves who take advantage of their customers. It is a shame that I had to learn this lesson the hard way, but I hope that others can avoid making the same mistake.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointed with Changes to HL's Search Function and Lack of Support from Customer Service

As someone who owns a villa, I always follow the advice given by HL to ensure that my property is highly ranked in their search results. However, I recently noticed that holiday lettings has made changes to their search function, which has left me feeling frustrated and confused.

Previously, customers were able to search for properties in a specific area, but now they are only able to search within a 20 mile radius. This means that my villa, which used to appear on the first page of search results for a particular area, is now buried on page 10. To make matters worse, villas that are located 20 miles away are now appearing before mine.

I reached out to HL to try and understand why this change had been made, but their response was less than satisfactory. Despite my concerns, they tried to convince me that this change was "ok" and wouldn't negatively impact my property. However, I knew that January was typically a busy month for enquiries, yet I had received none.

When I asked for their complaints procedure, they suddenly stopped responding to my messages altogether. This lack of communication has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed, as I had always trusted HL to provide a fair and transparent service.

Overall, I am disappointed with the changes that have been made to HL's search function, and the lack of support that I have received from their customer service team. As a villa owner, I rely on HL to help me attract potential renters, but this recent change has made it much harder for me to do so.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointing Experience with HolidayLettings UK: Poor Customer Support and Payment Protection Policies

I recently had an experience with HolidayLettings UK, which is part of the TripAdvisor family along with Flipkey and a few others. I must say that my experience was not a pleasant one. I had booked a stay that was accepted by the owner within 24 hours, but the next day, the owner tried to claim another 50% on top of the agreed price. I rejected the claim online as I was told I could, and the booking was confirmed. However, when I arrived at the property, the owner said that the booking had been cancelled.

I was very disappointed and frustrated with the situation, so I decided to contact HolidayLettings UK for support. Unfortunately, it was not easy to find their contact number, and when I finally did, I was connected to staff based in India who did not seem to care about my situation. I was left with no choice but to accept an inferior property in a not-so-great area with only one bedroom. This experience ruined my holiday, and I was very disappointed with the lack of customer support from HolidayLettings UK.

I also tried to claim payment protection as per their website, but my claim was rejected. It seems that HolidayLettings UK only cares about taking their booking fee and moving on, without worrying about the customer. I would not recommend using this company for your holiday bookings. Instead, I suggest using AirBNB or VRBO, which have better customer support and protection policies.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK Review: Poor Customer Service and Unsafe Experience

I have to say, my experience with HolidayLettings UK was not a good one. I had a booking for a hotel through their website, and when I arrived at the hotel, I found out that the lady who owned it owed money to the booking service for a previous cancellation. She then tried to withhold my luggage when I refused to give her any money, even though I had already paid in full through ***.

I tried to explain this to her, but she wouldn't listen. I ended up having to contact HolidayLettings UK's customer service, and they were not very helpful. They tried to tell me that rebooking the hotel at the same price was a matter of goodwill, when in reality it was a contractual obligation. I felt like they were putting me in harm's way by not acting responsibly.

To make matters worse, the lady cancelled her account with HolidayLettings UK before I was able to retrieve my belongings from her. I had to contact tripadvisors/booking.com to try and sort things out, and I felt like I was put in the default position of being their agent. It was a frustrating and stressful experience.

In the end, the lady threw my personal property all over her lawn and threatened me by saying she was going to get her boyfriend to kick my ***. I was shocked and scared, and I ended up having to call the police. It was a terrible situation, and I believe that HolidayLettings UK is partly responsible for it.

Overall, I would not recommend using HolidayLettings UK. Their customer service was not helpful, and I felt like they put me in harm's way by not acting responsibly. It was a stressful and unpleasant experience, and I would not want anyone else to go through what I did.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK: Unfair Charges for Their Mistakes

I must say, my experience with HolidayLettings UK was absolutely abysmal. As a holiday rental owner, I was shocked to find out that they had made a booking at the wrong price, and to make matters worse, they wanted to charge me a whopping 120 GBP to cancel the booking because the bookers didn't want to pay the full correct price! Can you believe it?

To give you some context, we hadn't set a price for 2018 yet, but HolidayLettings UK took a booking anyway. And to our surprise, they set the price (mid summer) as the lowest price that we had ever charged. We immediately informed the bookers that HolidayLettings UK had assumed a price as we hadn't set one, and told them the correct price. However, the bookers were not willing to pay the correct price and wanted to cancel. I completely understand their position, and it's only fair.

But here's the kicker - HolidayLettings UK wants to charge me 120 GBP for the cancelled booking! It was their mistake in assuming a price and telling the booker, and yet they want to charge me for their mistake. If they want to assume a price, then at least assume the price for the same time the year before! It's just not fair.

Needless to say, I am extremely unhappy with HolidayLettings UK and have decided to cancel our advert with them. If you want happy customers, then I strongly advise against advertising with them.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointing Customer Support and Unfair Policies: My Experience with Holidaylettings

I recently booked a sweet apartment in Tenerife through Holidaylettings for January 2019. Unfortunately, due to some family reasons, I had to change my arrival date by just one day. I tried to do it through the website, but the request goes to the owner, and if the owner doesn't respond, nothing happens. I tried to contact the owner, but he didn't reply. I was so frustrated that I made numerous calls to the Holiday Lettings Customer Support, but they were no help. They tried to contact the owner, but he didn't respond. He claimed he was Russian, and there was a language barrier, but I didn't believe him. He had already sent me emails in English explaining how to pick up the keys, so I knew he understood English perfectly.

I decided to cancel my booking, but the Russian owner suddenly agreed to my changes. It was too late, though. I didn't trust him anymore, and I didn't want to stay in his apartment. I contacted customer support again, but they told me I couldn't cancel without losing my deposit. It was so unfair! The owner was refusing to answer all correspondence, and I was losing my money for something that wasn't my fault.

I was so disappointed with the customer support. They were a disgrace and no help whatsoever. I lost 235 Euros, and I wouldn't book another apartment through this website if you paid me. I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through. It was a sham, a scam, and a waste of time and money.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK Review: Outrageous Cancellation Fee and Poor Customer Service

I recently decided to cancel my listing with HolidayLettings UK and I must say, as an owner, I would not recommend this company. They charge an outrageous amount in the event of a booking cancellation. I understand that it's not ideal to cancel a reservation, and I felt terrible having to do so. In all my years of running a holiday let, I have never had to cancel on anyone. However, sometimes things happen that are beyond your control.

After explaining my situation to the customer and why I couldn't fulfill their reservation, I found alternative accommodation for them. The customer was really understanding about it and as they had only paid a deposit, which I actioned to be reimbursed in full, they were fine. It's worth noting that no money had been received by me for this booking as the company keeps hold of it until 24 hours after check-in to release the funds.

The issue I had was that they charged me a fee of ?120.00 for cancelling. When I challenged this with them, they said it's in their T & C's and it's to cover the time it takes to help the customer find somewhere else. I explained that they had not helped the customer, I had, but they kept saying it's in the T & C's. This reason from them is absolute bull. I asked for a breakdown of this cost, but they said they wouldn't be able to provide it.

It's clear to me that this company does not care about rental owners or customers. They just want to make money where they can. I would strongly advise avoiding this company at all costs.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointing Experience with HolidayLettings UK: Removed Property and Blocked Account Without Warning

I remember back in 2014 when I put up a villa I managed on HolidayLettings UK. I was thrilled when I received my first booking almost immediately. However, my excitement was short-lived when HL contacted me and asked for more information about myself. I was happy to oblige and even sent them a picture of myself standing and showing my ID document.

To my surprise, after 1 or 2 days, they informed me that my property and ad had been removed because I wasn't the real owner. I tried to explain to them that I wasn't the real owner, but they wouldn't listen to me. They removed my property and deleted my booking without giving me the chance to explain to the "future" guest what was happening.

I was so disappointed that I sent them an email threatening to spread my disappointment all over the net if they didn't reactivate my account. Unfortunately, they didn't budge, and I had to move on.

Recently, I decided to upload another property I manage on their website. I called their customer service, and after 3 operators and 32 minutes of conversations, they informed me that my account had been blocked, and I wouldn't be able to work with them anymore. I was shocked that they could wait so many years to inform me.

I must say that I'm really disappointed with their service. Not only did they remove my property and booking without giving me a chance to explain, but they also blocked my account without any prior warning. I had to call them to understand why I couldn't move through the website.

In the end, I decided to post my property to their competition, HOMEAWAY. I'm not sure if they will be any better, but I'm willing to give them a try. I must say that HL are the real losers here. They lost a potential customer, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience with them.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK/Trip Advisor: A Rip-Off for Property Owners and Holidaymakers Alike

I've been advertising my holiday property on HolidayLettings UK for a decade now, and I have to say, I've been pretty happy with their service. However, since they were bought out by Trip Advisor, things have taken a turn for the worse. Not just for property owners like myself, but for holidaymakers too.

It seems that HL/TA are trying to force all owners to sign up for their 'free listing', which costs us 3% - not too bad, you might think. But the booker gets hit with an extra 18% on top of the rate we're asking for! That's a lot of money. And to make matters worse, they've significantly increased the annual fee we have to pay for our listing.

They're clearly trying to channel the whole booking process in their favour. They want to hold onto all the money until after the guests arrive, even if the booking was made over a year in advance. And they're scaring people away from paying us directly by constantly warning them not to use wire transfers.

As someone who's invested a lot of time and money into my holiday letting business, I find it absolutely shocking how HL is treating its owners. They're using bullying and controlling tactics to try and force us to use their 'free to list' rates, which are a rip-off for bookers. And now they're even dangling the carrot of a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in front of us if we convert to this heinous/covert booking method.

But here's the kicker - in order for a holiday rental to even be listed on Trip Advisor, it has to be their customer. That means if you don't subscribe to the HL site, you can't be listed on Trip Advisor. Isn't there a law against monopolies?

I don't want my customers to be ripped off like this. I object to HL trying to force all bookings to take place on their terms - after all, it's not their property! My advice to all holidaymakers out there is to search for owners' personal websites and book directly with them.

And to top it all off, their customer service has gone down the drain. They employ people who are completely useless and couldn't care less about our concerns. Spread the word - HL/TA is not the way to go.

HolidayLettings UK Holiday Lettings: Terrible Customer Service and Unfair Policies

I've been using Holiday Lettings for a good two years now, and everything was going smoothly until recently. Unfortunately, I had a guest who left my apartment in a terrible state. It took me over 7 hours to clean up the mess they left behind. The walls were covered in grease, and some items in the apartment were broken. To make matters worse, I had less than 8 hours to get the apartment ready for the next guest.

I reached out to Holiday Lettings and asked for part of the damage deposit to be given to me. I even sent them photos of the damage, but they weren't satisfied. They wanted an invoice, which was impossible since I couldn't have the work done until the previous guests had left. After two weeks of emails and over 3 hours of phone calls, Holiday Lettings told me that they were going to cancel my damage claim and give the deposit back to the guest who caused all the damage.

I was shocked and frustrated by their response. They claimed they hadn't received the photos, then they said they had. They also said they tried to contact the guest but couldn't. To make matters worse, they refused to do anything about the negative review the guest left, which was completely unfair since I had received 40 5-star reviews before this incident.

When I asked them to close my account with Holiday Lettings, they told me there would be a fine of over ?1500 to do so. I was appalled by their lack of concern for their customers. They run a call center from India, and their customer service is terrible. They send out the same email 10 times and never get back to you. It's clear that they care more about making money than helping their customers.

In the end, I decided to block my property after September 2017. I refuse to work with such a disgusting company any longer. There's no way to leave them unless you pay ?150 per booking, which is outrageous. I hope others will learn from my experience and avoid using Holiday Lettings in the future.

HolidayLettings UK Major security breach

Booking Number BR29743532

Case Number [protected]

On using the Holiday Lettings UK webpage my/wife full passport details have been sent to an unknown email address generated by the "HL" system that I, the property owner and "HL" do not recognise. This is a major security breach by "HL".

I have been in touch for the last 4 days with India by phone, chatline and email.

I am no further forward, with promises of updates/solutions are not forthcoming.

I feel there is no need to supply any further detail in this forum, as it is all on the "HL" website and all the correspondence would not fit in this text box, The title should be enough to focus the mind.

Given the amount of identity fraud in the world, I do not understand the lack of action being applied to this case

Claimed loss: Identity

Desired outcome: Resolution

HolidayLettings UK Negative Experience with HolidayLettings UK: Lack of Customer Service and Misuse of Personal Information

My experience with HolidayLettings UK was not a good one. I had booked a room for three nights through their website, but when I arrived at the property to check-in, there was no room available and no one to assist me with the check-in process. I tried calling their customer service line, but no one answered and I was directed to an automated voice message.

Feeling frustrated and confused, I decided to contact the original listing owner to see if they could help. Unfortunately, they informed me that they had no record of my reservation and were unable to assist me. This left me feeling stranded and unsure of what to do next.

To make matters worse, I had provided HolidayLettings with my personal information, including my credit card and driver's license details, during the online booking process. I was concerned that this information could be misused or stolen, which added to my stress and anxiety.

Thankfully, I was able to contact my credit card company and stop the payment to HolidayLettings. While this resolved the issue of payment, it did not make up for the inconvenience and frustration I experienced during my attempted stay with HolidayLettings.

Overall, I would not recommend using HolidayLettings UK for your travel accommodations. The lack of customer service and communication, combined with the potential for misuse of personal information, make it a risky choice for travelers.

HolidayLettings UK Holiday Lettings UK: Poor Customer Service and Website Functionality

I recently had some issues with my stay through Holiday Lettings UK (holidaylettings.co.uk) and I must say, their customer service could use some improvement. When I tried to cancel my stay through their website, I found that the cancel button did not work and I was unable to proceed. Frustrated, I decided to contact their customer service team for assistance. However, to my surprise, there was no 800 number available for me to call. The only option was to send an email and wait for a response.

After waiting for a while, I decided to take matters into my own hands and searched for their phone number online. Finally, I was able to reach them at ***015 and cancel my trip. My issue was that there was construction going on above us, which made our stay unbearable. We were only able to stay for 4 out of the 14 nights we had booked, and when we requested a refund, they only returned less than half of what we had paid.

Overall, I think Holiday Lettings UK needs to improve their customer service and website functionality. It was frustrating to have to search for their phone number online and wait for a response to my email. Additionally, the refund we received was not satisfactory considering the circumstances of our stay. I hope they take these issues seriously and work towards improving their services for future customers.

HolidayLettings UK Hidden Booking Fee on Holiday Lettings - Beware!

I just had an experience with Holiday Lettings and I must say, it was quite a shocker. I booked an apartment through their website and was excited to have found a great deal. However, when I received the invoice from the owner, I noticed that the rental price was lower than what I had paid. Upon further inquiry, the owner confirmed that the rental price was indeed lower and that Holiday Lettings had added a booking fee of 71 euros on top of the rental price.

I was quite surprised by this as I had not expected such a high booking fee. It was not mentioned clearly on the website and I had to dig through the terms and conditions to find it. I also suspect that they charge the owner a subscription fee, which is probably why the rental price was lower than what I had paid.

As a retired person from Somerset, I find this kind of hidden fee quite frustrating. I understand that companies need to make money, but I believe that they should be transparent about their fees. I wouldn't use Holiday Lettings again and would advise others to be cautious when booking through their website.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointed with Holiday Lettings? Try these better alternatives!

Holiday Lettings is not what it used to be. I, like many others, have been disappointed with their service. The booking fees are just too high! It's not worth it. But don't worry, there's a new site called 'theholidaylet' that's worth checking out. They have a simple ad service that's easy to use. I've also listed my property on Airbnb, HomeAway, and Owners Direct. The last two are affiliates, so if you list with one, you'll get a deal for the other. Plus, they have sales where they reduce the fees. I started with a free listing, but now I've subscribed to Owners Direct and it's produced more results. Don't waste your time with Holiday Lettings, try these other options instead.

HolidayLettings UK Unpleasant Experience with HolidayLettings UK: Poor Customer Service and Strict Policies

I recently had an experience with HolidayLettings UK and I must say, it was not a pleasant one. The contract they have in place is followed strictly, even in these times of Covid-related contingencies. Despite their website claiming to be flexible, I found that to not be the case. Unfortunately, I ended up losing my entire deposit, which was almost half of the booking fee. Looking back, I realize that it was my mistake to accept such a high deposit requirement. However, even when I tried to negotiate with them to reschedule my booking, they were not interested in any kind of compromise.

The customer service I received was poor, to say the least. Their responses were bland and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and disappointed. Based on my experience, I would caution anyone against using this company. It's important to be aware of the strict policies they have in place and the lack of flexibility they offer.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK Review: Pros and Cons for Owners Looking to Reach a Large Audience

and Airbnb's book and give owners more control over their listings and bookings. It's frustrating to feel like you have no say in how your property is marketed and booked.

That being said, HolidayLettings UK does have a wide reach and can bring in a lot of potential guests. The website is easy to navigate and the booking process is straightforward for guests.

However, as an owner, it can be difficult to keep up with the constant changes and updates to the site. It would be helpful if they provided more resources and support for owners to make the most out of their listings.

Overall, HolidayLettings UK has its pros and cons. It's a good option for owners looking to reach a large audience, but the lack of control and communication can be frustrating at times.

HolidayLettings UK Disappointing Experience with HolidayLettings UK: Issues with Pricing and Refunds

We recently decided to list our property on HolidayLettings UK, but boy were we in for a surprise! We thought it would be a great way to get bookings for the upcoming year, but unfortunately, it has been a bit of a nightmare.

Firstly, we noticed that our 2015 prices were not being retained overnight. This meant that every morning, we had to go back and manually input them again. It was a real pain, especially since the website's interface is not very user-friendly.

We reported the issue to the company a few months ago, but it still hasn't been resolved. As a result, we haven't received any bookings for 2015 yet. We suspect that this is because potential guests are unable to see our prices online.

When we asked for a refund of our fee, we were told that it was a "known issue" and that we couldn't get our money back. If we had known that we wouldn't be able to add prices for 2015, we wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

Overall, we're pretty disappointed with our experience on HolidayLettings UK. We were hoping for a hassle-free way to get bookings, but instead, we've been left frustrated and out of pocket. We wouldn't recommend this site to anyone looking to list their property.

HolidayLettings UK Unresponsive and Unhelpful: My Frustrating Experience with HolidayLettings UK

This company, HolidayLettings UK, has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I have attempted to contact them multiple times, through various means, but have yet to receive a clear and direct response. It seems as though they are avoiding me and my concerns.

I am particularly upset because I had to cancel my holiday due to the ongoing effects of Covid-19. I was not looking to cancel altogether, but simply wanted to change the dates of my booking. However, despite the terms and conditions stating that this should be possible under current circumstances, I have been met with resistance and unhelpfulness.

To make matters worse, HolidayLettings UK took a large deposit from me, only to then disappear and leave me feeling like I have been scammed. I feel like they are cowards, unwilling to face up to their responsibilities and obligations to their customers.

I believe that this company and the villa owner should be reported to watchdog, as they are taking advantage of people during a difficult time. It is not right that they should be able to profit from the misfortune of others, and I would caution anyone considering using their services to think twice.

HolidayLettings UK Poor Customer Service and Account Blocking: My Experience with HolidayLettings UK

I've been using HolidayLettings UK for about half a year now, along with Flipkey, which is also owned by Tripadvisor. It took a while, but I finally got my first booking! The guests moved in on Monday and paid the rent on Tuesday. However, things took a turn for the worse when they blocked my account for no apparent reason. They claimed it was for the purpose of checking my account, but it seemed like they were just trying to withhold the rent.

I've sent them all the information they requested, but they keep asking for more. It's frustrating because when I ask them a question, they can't give me a straight answer or any advice. They can't even confirm if the verification process will be successful. It's like they don't care if the guests have to leave the property or not.

The customer service is very poor, and they don't seem to have any consideration for their customers. It's a shame because I was really excited to use this platform, but now I'm not so sure. I hope they can improve their service in the future, but for now, I wouldn't recommend using HolidayLettings UK.

HolidayLettings UK HolidayLettings UK Review: Poor Communication, Unfair Fees, and Prioritizing Customers Over Owners

Ever since TripAdvisor took over HolidayLettings UK, it has become a bit of a nightmare for owners. They seem to be more concerned with keeping all the money paid until two days into the rental, and then informing you that it will take another five days to reach your bank. If a customer cancels, they get a full refund at any time, but if the owner cancels, they are hit with a whopping ?120 fee.

Trying to get in touch with anyone by phone is a waste of time, as they never answer emails. I had a booking for September 18th, 2018, and I paid a deposit of ?250 back in May 2017. However, I won't receive this money until around September 25th, 2018.

To make matters worse, they now charge an enormous booking fee, which didn't even exist in 2017. I received ?575, but they charged me ?681. When I tried to ask why, they didn't seem to care at all. It's frustrating and makes me want to avoid using their services altogether.

Overall, I would not recommend using HolidayLettings UK. They seem to prioritize customers over owners, and their communication is terrible. If you're looking for a hassle-free experience, I suggest looking elsewhere.
