I paid $4500 to Hardin's Auto Sale on March 9 for a 2012 Dodge Charger. However, they failed to inform me that the car had a salvage title and was missing an airbag. I have been driving the car for three weeks without knowing this. On April 14, they asked me to bring the car in for an emission test. I picked it up on Friday, April 15, and the owner, whose name was not provided, explained that the car was not ready for the test and needed several repairs before I could get a tag. He also mentioned that he was trying to sell the car quickly because it had been on the lot for too long and he hadn't made any profit from selling it to me. He claimed that he was paying for the repairs out of his own pocket without asking for any additional money from me. I agreed to this arrangement.
Unfortunately, I was late on my payment, and as of April 18, the car has been in their possession. They have been harassing me about the payment, even though I only owe them $918. The owner is insisting that I pay $1681 and then he will put me in another vehicle. I told him that I would give him the $918 because he never gave me enough time to pay the car note, which is due on April 22. I feel like he is trying to take advantage of me and I am frustrated because I could have lost my life due to the missing airbag. Additionally, I lost my job because they told me to drop off the car. They are now threatening to repossess the car, even though they have had it since April 18. This situation is completely new to me, and I am seeking help. All I want is the $5250 that I paid for this car.
