Green Mountain Energy is a scam! Do Not, I repeat, Do Not sign up with them. Their terms always look juicy, but the fine prints come with an unexplainable increase in your billing every month. And guess what, you cannot opt out because you have signed a 12-month contract, with a penalty of almost $300. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different provider.

The average billing is the biggest scam. Once I upted out of it, my next bill was double because apparently, even though you've been paying your bills monthly, the company withholds a sum which accumulates over the years. That sum doesn't go away. Then they say its in the contract. What I dont understand was how my bill which was about $70 monthly before signing up went up to $150. And then they still say they were saving a balance for me. Make it make sense.
