Grand Canyon University [GCU] review: fraud 11

I also was told that my Masters program would only cost me $20, 000 to complete. Now I have been told that I do not place out of any programs regardless that I have a MPA. I am also finally aware that my education will cost me more than $20, 000. rketcham@cox.net.

Same here but I failed one of my class due to the same thing and felt sorry the instuctor would lose her job so took the grade. Then failed a class due to an unqualified and untrained instructor whom didn't do his job. They said I owed $760 and tried to offer a settlement agreement with them paying all but $360 in which I refused because not paying penalties for instructor not following protocol nor doing their job. I tried to get some medical services that I have to pay out of pocket for and found out that I have two charges almost $6, 000 nonpayment with my credit stuck frozen denied. It even shows where I was supposed to have a $20 monthly payment which I never agreed to nor signed but it's being reported to credit bureau while NelNet cannot even give correct prices and dates claiming GCU is responsible and has to handle it but no matter what company nor person speak to all get is run around falling back on the gcu and gcu never returned calls nor correspondence just keeps adding and reporting unknown cost. Any part of a class action lawsuit against them I qualify for or can help anyone else please contact me. Only option pay it, agree to $0 payment for twenty years unable to continue my education, or class action/lawsuit. I'll not pay for any unqualified instructor not following protocol nor doing their job when I am a great student whom loves school and learning and that studies hard, follows protocol, and does my part. Hello my name is Darlene, and I'm still going to this awful university, GCU is constantly giving me instructors that are belittling me, and lowering my grades. So I'm tired of this school, and the way the instructors treat you. The instructor I have right now is saying I'm not reading his instructions right, and I'm missing the main points of the assignment, and it's not true because I have good understanding, and can write, and read any instructions. I had dropped out this Com-231 twice because of the same treatment from there instructors, majority of their instructors are really bad, and they have they pick out the students they like, and most likely give them good grades. In the past, I had left GCU for a year, than I came back because Ashford University instructors were not good either. I have to finish this class I'm in and a core course, then I can leave for good. I do not want to mess up my financial aid is the main reason I'm still at this horrible university. I have no problems with my SSA, and the supervisors right now, are I would be in hot water right now! I would like to join the class action lawsuit because I had issues in the past with some of the staff, and I can help by reporting this school, and the mistreatment that I had to endure, and nothing was not done about. I filed a few appeals, and nothing was not done they tried to say their instructors are fair with the grades, so I loss everything I report the staff. It's like they are saying I'm wrong about what I'm saying about their staff, and I know I'm right. I am a graduate of Grand Canyon Universities BSN program (Or so I thought).

After attending graduation, receiving two Pop up congratulatory messages for completing the program and receiving an e-mail from my academic adviser congratulating me on “Reaching the end of my journey”, I received an email asking me to past $150.00 for a graduation fee. After paying the fee, I called the school and was told that the transcripts and certificate would take 4-6 weeks. I called back later and was told it may be up to 6-8 weeks. I call today and am now told that I have to take an extra class. They are now telling me that I need to take an extra “upper level class.”

Is there still a class action lawsuit?
Whom should I contact to file a formal complaint?
How do I go about seeking legal adequate legal representation?

How do I join this class action lawsuit. I am a former GCU student, I was enrolled in their education program. I decided to withdraw due to the lack education I was receiving at the university, I went through the proper channels to withdraw from the school and was hit with balance $1, 900. I sent them the necessary paperwork and was told I withdrew to late and that I had to pay back the money, I know wasn't late in withdrawing maybe they late in responding. After three years they put my account in collections, I spoke with an internal accounts representative (who was rude) to dispute my account charges and was told I couldn't not dispute any charges on my account. Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that I (the consumer) had the right to defend and dispute any information on my account that is deemed inaccurate. I love to receive any information regarding the class action suit, too many people have been ripped-off by this university.

I am currently a GCU student. I must agree that GCU are money hungry blood suckers! The cost of my 1 class was over $1900 dollars and they already took the payment out of my financial aid for a total of 3 classes. Which amount to $6214! Hot Bull! After I complete this 1 class I will not be taking another class there! GCU tuition is terribly high and I agree to the fullest that they are rip offs!

I will be joining the class action lawsuit as well. I began school at GCU in 10/2007and was doing well in my classes. I had enrolled in the College Algebra and dropped the course. Then re enrolled in Math again, but dropped it once again. They want me to pay them $3025.00 back before I can attend, but then on top of it they had a law office from Tucson, AZ. to send me a letter to reach this solution. I did speak with them about repaying, but I did not and have not heard anything from them since. So I do recommend people who are planning to go to school online it is best to find another school, because GCU is not what they are suppose to be!
