I strongly advise against using this company. I was given a written quote of $957 for a local move of only 3 miles, but they charged my card $1801, which is double the agreed amount. On top of that, I had multiple unpleasant experiences with the manager, ***, who hung up on me several times. This company is a scam. To make matters worse, they also broke two of my lamps and attempted to compensate me with a mere $100, which I declined. When I requested to speak with the owner, I was flatly denied. This is not how a business should be run.

They loaded all of our things into the truck within a handful of hours. They were fast, yet careful. The movers from Holland were all very friendly and conducted themselves in a professional manner. However, we had a terrible experience with the management. They were extremely unhelpful and continuously gave us excuses when our belongings were delayed by over a month. Initially, they blamed their busy schedule, then they blamed it on the COVID-19 situation. Eventually, they stopped responding to our inquiries altogether. It took a total of 50 days for us to finally receive our belongings after they were picked up. While the movers themselves were professional, the customer service provided by Holland was absolutely unacceptable. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise against using this company.

This unexpected increase left me feeling exploited, particularly as a single woman and tech professional. Moreover, their lack of responsiveness and unprofessional behavior further exacerbated the negative experience. I must also mention that Martin, the manager responsible for long distance moving, displayed incompetence and revealed himself to be a supporter of former President Trump. It seemed that he intentionally prolonged the moving process, causing unnecessary delays. If you are seeking to work with dishonest individuals, then by all means hire Goals. However, if you prefer to deal with decent human beings, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

However, when we contacted them 2 months ahead, they informed us that the best they could do was provide a 1-week timeframe for the delivery and notify us of the specific date within 48-72 hours. This was completely different from what we were promised, and it posed a significant problem for my wife and me since we both have full-time jobs and couldn't take time off with such short notice. To make matters worse, they are now uncertain if they can deliver within the 1-week window and have not guaranteed that we won't be charged extra for storage time."

Golan Moving Storage is a company that I had a negative experience with. On February 29, a team of four movers and their foreman, Raymond, arrived at my old address on Harvest Lane in South Elgin, IL. Their task was to relocate my belongings to my new home on Woodhill Court in Elgin, IL. I was satisfied with Raymond's professionalism and even gave a generous tip of $150.00 to each of the movers, amounting to a total of $600.00. However, I was disappointed to discover that one of the four Hispanic movers, who had limited English skills, had stolen a pair of opal earrings worth $500. Despite having purchased $10,000 insurance coverage for my valuable items during the move, Jonathan *** (the sales manager) refused to reimburse me for the stolen earrings. This refusal was quite disheartening, and it only added to my negative impression of Jonathan, as I had always found him to be arrogant.

I utilized the moving and storage services provided by *** to relocate from my condo in Lakeview on May 31, 2022, and store my belongings. In order to safeguard my valuable furniture, I opted to purchase an additional $15,000 worth of damage insurance for $225. While Golans *** Liability Coverage offers a reimbursement rate of $0.30 per pound per article, I chose to acquire Coverage = $15,000 declared value protection. Unfortunately, two furniture pieces were damaged, with an estimated value of $2,576.72. Additionally, the movers carelessly assembled my newly installed hardwood floors, resulting in $1,000 worth of damage that needs to be repaired. Upon contacting *** and initiating the claims process, they only offered a total reimbursement of $175 to rectify their errors. This experience has led me to question the legitimacy of the insurance they sold, as it was not honored. During my conversation with *** (the woman I spoke to), she coerced me into paying the movers while they were still present at my residence, threatening that they would not leave otherwise. I expressed my desire to have my belongings repaired, and she assured me that she would collaborate with me afterwards.
