GoDaddy Fraudulent domain sales

Godaddy.com is literally laughable at this point and I refuse to give them anymore of my money.

I originally purchased my domain for $12 for a 5 years on 2/15/2016. The card on the account was no longer active ( 5 years later - new card) . On 3/21/2022, when I went online to update the billing information and pay for the domain, it told me that I was no longer eligible to restore the account and that the domain was up for auction.

On 3/22/2022, the domain went up for auction and I had to pay $6 to join in the auction to try to bid on the domain I have owned for 5 years. Lol, this domain is soooo basic ! Nobody needs my domain, but now it has 4 "bidders" in the running. This bid went from $20 to $150 in minutes. Within seconds of me placing a $10 increase in bid, another ghost bidder would respond in SECONDS to increase the bid.

So, I did not win the bid auction.

On 3/22/2022, I had to contact a broker that works for Godaddy to try to gain access to the account. That was a fee of $69.99. The broker never reached out to me.

I was told today that the domain was not purchased until 03/29/2022 ! So, all this time I have been trying to purchase the account, Godaddy allowed the domain to go up for auction and run the price up for the auction only for me to attempt to purchase it back.

On 4/6/2022, finally spoke to the broker over the phone. GoDaddy told me they did not have any contact information for the assigned broker- though he is a consultant for GoDaddy. I had to call Domain Proxy LLC - another sister company to GoDaddy to get someone who could help me.

This representative from Domain Proxy told me that on 3/22/22 the domain was up in auction but it did not close until 3/29/22 - which would make it impossible for me to be able to purchase the domain broker service for the domain on 3/22!

They then got me in touch with the actual broker, Maurcio Zambrano, who said that he has sent me automated messages. I checked my email - I have no record of him sending me anything. I checked my spam folders and everything. Nothing - no attempts were made.

To make a long story short, never let your payment lapse on GoDaddy. They have people that use a "back order" purchase tool to wait for your website domain to go up to make you pay an insane amount of money to get it back.

They got it . I'll never go out my way to purchase that domain. And I will not be using GoDaddy anymore, because they should offer a better protection for valuable and life long clients.

Desired outcome: restore my original domain!

GoDaddy Website not responding, can't get in the back pages

www.latinmusicpublishers.com , the website is not responding to my password, the information that I have does not match theirs even though both the info and the password have not changed. I refused to keep paying for an email I wasn't using so I changed the email info in the website and 2 months later I could not get in. I still had emails (at the new address) letting me know somebody purchased something and I got by, but recently the website won't even disburse the free items. I have been complaining for months, now and loosing revenue and customers and nothing gets resolved. They keep telling me that someone will send me a password to get in and nothing ever happens. The website is visible but woocommerce is not responding so people are unable to purchase anymore. Calling them is a colossal waste of time, please help!

Desired outcome: Restore my password and recognize the new email as my link with the company. I want to be able to get in, fix woocommerce and serve my customers. Thank you.

GoDaddy Website Design Services

I was sold on a a monthly plan to pay $125 per month for GoDaddy to not even design, but to add pages, text and images that I supplied to them and now I have waited 15 days for them to upload content to 3 pages and when I call every 2 days, they say two more days. I am almost at my limit where I just will have to say goodbye to GoDaddy, a company I've relied on for years but lately has had many issues, AND COVID IS NOT TO BLAME. Sad!

Desired outcome: Get my site up and running!

GoDaddy Domains and Free Website Builder

I have been with GoDaddy since their inception. In the past few years, they've not been behaving as I've been use to so I stopped referring and using them for many services. Their employees in the past have told me that they were shutting down a server and I was being forced to pay for a pricier server, then later told that was a lie by another employ and my hosting was moved back, which then damaged the structure of my site. I have extensive protection on my site, they once claimed that my pages, once loaded onto their server and months later now had viruses. (And they blamed me?). They told me several times that my old domain was now gone and sold, as I had not gotten a bill...I purchased it while they were telling me that - as I was on another domain sellers website and I picked it up for a buck. So, I haven't been using them much except for the hosting as it was paid in advance. Typically, I will have this new service and GoDaddy's pages up on my computer, phones, or iPad and do speed searches.

I saw when searching for domains today, their advertisement "All domains come with Website Builder...Create and publish your website for free. Add paid features like an online store when you're ready." I was like, "Great! They're doing that special again!" So I went ahead and went with GoDaddy and paid for the domain and 3 month's of hosting.

Once I paid, the page then said the new page then said to start setting up my 7-day trial. That's not what was advertised. This is Bait and Switch. I took a screen shot of it as well.

I have serious trouble reading after multiple eye surgeries and I have to use a very large table mounted magnifying and lit glass to read, which takes scrolling left to right, and it takes a long time before I buy anything. There was nothing on this that said it was for a 7-day trial, 30-day, 45-day, or 1-year. It's just like the other pages; a basic 1-page template that you can add to it when you're ready to make it an online store.

When I called, both Reps Mikhial in the Caribbean and Duane in Arizona stated they do not offer free website builders. ACTUALLY, in fact they do and I already have two of them, also screenshot'd for my documentation.

They got my money, I told Duane I wanted my money back, as I literally just paid for it within minutes, less the time spent with the previous Rep, and then Duane went silent. (Same tactics used in many call centers). Fortunately for me, all of my calls are recorded due to my visual issues.

Now, I know as an ADA Advocate, that if there are any hidden stipulations or terms, they must be in the same size font as the advertisement. There is nothing. It is literally only AFTER you purchase, that there is any mention that the page you're setting up is a 7-day trial.

This is NOT acceptable.

I've been bringing this company many customers throughout many years and it's time we part ways permanently. I don't want any of my clients being treated as I have.

I'm not submitting these screen shots as they contain my credit card and personal information. I'll submit them to my own state's AG's office and the ADA office as well.

I'm filing with the Arizona Attorney General's office. I prefer that they face some real questions. I'm also filing with the Office of Civil Rights and an ADA Violation because for visually impaired individuals, we need to be able to see any and all content BEFORE any purchases are made. With that said, I asked someone else if there was any mention on the page of a 7-day trial and the answer was "No." Their opinion, as the advertisement shows, "Add paid features like an online store when you're ready." which the page is free (like the two others I have) and. when you're ready to make it an online store, then you start paying for those options.

They need to get compliant with ADA - they make all this money and can't make their site for visually impaired individuals? Maybe my complaint will help them.

GoDaddy Visitor meter analytics

goDaddy's analytics meausment failed on Jan 28 2022 I was lucky enough to take a screenshot on my facebook because I was proud, it was posted some time Jan 28. I was supposed to make a $1500 pitch on Jan 31. I had well over 500 visitors and now it only showing 40, I would of met the amount of traffic needed to get the money I cannot provide the data now, because I no longer can provde investor information of the proper analtytics due to condition that was he had to see it live on godaddy from a display.. Investment was supposed to be made by local business owner David rantannen, he promised payment as long as I could show I had over 450 visits. Screenshot is not accepted by the investor so I can show him data from there. I am at a considerable loss because I am unemployed and I borrowed money to begin creation of the site, I no longer can afford my rent, or any cost to continue my venture that had a high growth projection and was performing better than industry average. I have suffered undue finacial hardships due to go daddys product not performimg as advertised. it has completely ruined my business and go daddy resolution was "perhaps you would like to provide feedback" I cannot pay my rent due to this companys product failer so I demand compensation.

I contactted support 4 times on Jan 30, first 3 calls customer support "stepped out" not being able to address my convern. I put my owm time and my only money available to pursue this venture, I was marketed the perception that godaddy was the best. - godaddy user name is Samuel Severight

Desired outcome: Compensation of $1500 paid by Feb.10 2022(As far as lease will allow before i get evicted for not paying rent)

GoDaddy Charged money & not providing services support didnot help to cancel 2 step verification

I had a go daddy account which I use for companies I work for I am a digital marketer and I purchased couple of domains on my account and hosting services for 5 years and I did lost an access to the number used for 2nd step verification after I contacted support mentioning this problem back in 2018 the did not helped me recovering my account I tried emailing support after all the calls I made to the support desk they did not helped me. And in present I just noticed they come up with a new online procedure that was never available before I tried and was able to recover my account successfully and I did contacted the support for the services I paid to the that remain unused because of there negligence after all the reminders given back in ghe years now they told me that sevices cannot be provided as they are expired and even I mentioned the services remain untouch because of there support negligence they did ripped me off with all the domains I had in my account even the hosting plan even other services that cost me more than 40,000 rs and without even providing the services they charged me for the services I was not able to use because of their worthless support.

GoDaddy Website services not rendered, GoDaddy unwilling to resolve.

My website has been inactive since October of 2021, when I coincidentally paid to renew my account. I called in January 2022 after identifying that the website was "down", asking for consideration for four months paid where no services were rendered. I was told the "auto renew" was turned off (for some reason) & that since I missed the billing date (still to be verified as fact) the website was unpublished. I was also told that even though I paid a few days after, it was not their responsibility to "re-publish"; it was mine. I was treated very poorly on the phone as a loyal customer, an expectation was also given to me in advance by the "rep" that his manager would do nothing - and he didn't. WOW! GoDaddy has been very flexible in the past when it came to renewals, collecting money, or upgrading my services; However, they have no flexibility when asked to resolve a matter that involves any form of compensation for a service that they did not provide. Very disappointing!

Desired outcome: Refund for period website was inoperative.

GoDaddy Customer support, problem changing dns ns records

In Q3 2021 we tried to change NS records for a domain, from GoDaddy (GD) to Hurricane Electric (HE). All applicable records as on GD were duplicated on HE. tried transfer numerous times, all failed. Shelved process temporarily.

On 18 Jan'22 again started process. Correct changes were made on GD, initially showed as "in progress" with a 24hr delay, then suddenly reverted to old status, numerous times.

On 19 Jan used chat service for support, eventually Akash V stated that he had made the correct changes (have screenshot as proof), but it would now take 48hrs.

Waited 120hrs, Jan 24th checked but nothing had changed. Again contacted chat support, Abischek stated that it required 7 days, insisted that I wait then simply terminated the session when I asked for proof of the 7 day requirement.

Started another chat, Surjeet M, explained my problem, asked for executive contact details to complain. Was refused the contact details, told to message [protected]@godaddy.com but message bounced back, address non existing.

Jan 26th, still no change. Chat (back with Akash V) when he realised it was me, once again, he terminated the chat as soon as he could.

Desired outcome: Fix my problem, change the NS records !!!

GoDaddy refund

I would like to file a complaint about Godaddy charging me annual fees without letting me access to my account.

I have signed a contract for 5 years which is paid in the very beginning. 5 years passed, the contract auto renewed without noticing me as my registered email is no longer available since few years ago.

And I tried to login but unsuccessful as I didn't use that email for long and I forgot about the registered domaine name neither.

I provided all my info including my credit card info, my name and my phone number, still could not access to my account information.

And I missed the 4 days refund terms and I had to cut my credit card due to this.

The annual fees that you charged is hk$707, i am asking for a refund about this.

I only knew my account info through your contact with my bank, which is not acceptable

I'm going through THE SAME right now.

They are about to lose a 20 year customer with 8 domains, each of which "HAD" free email as a professional benefit...nothing was ever said explicit to me about changes that would require me to pay almost $300.00 a year MORE to the insane greedsters at GoDaddy. I wonder if Bob Parsons would agree with this EVIL "holding email accounts hostage" for a RANSOM!

EVIL GREED ON STEROIDS...PLUS AN AFFRONT TO WE RETIREES WHO CANNOT BEAR SUCH A NASTY HIT FOR THE SAKE OF GREED. EVIL IS AS EVIL DOES. NOW GoDaddy HAS lowered itself to the lowest standard of extracting wealth for pure GREED!

GoDaddy Web design service

This company charged my credit card $2, 571.38 on 10-15-2021 for web design services that they never provided.

After several failed attempts to resolve the issue with their non-existent customer service I was forced to dispute the charges with both the BBB and Attorney General office of Arizona.

GoDaddy issued me a partial refund of $$1, 046.09.

Godaddy still owes me $1525.29.

If I'm not able to finally resolve this issue I will be retaining counsel and filing a formal complaint with the The Federal Trade Commission.

Desired outcome: Full refund.

GoDaddy Free services went to over $300 and since I didn't catch it within 5 days I'm screwed

I was trying to figure why my email bill was so high. I had some "free" accounts for a number of years and an account for my business.

Well they started charging for my free email accounts (with apparently no notification).

You might ask why I didn't notice it. The package they changed the free accounts to is almost exactly the same name as my business accounts.

Mind you, these free accounts were accepted when I bought domains. Most were never activated. And I'm being charged for a calendar and storage I didn't ask for and don't need.

When I realized the issue (there was still a "free" option) on the page describing the services. I called GD and the rep acknowledged that the "Free Account" button shouldn't be there anymore.

The next day it wasn't.

Now they're saying I chose to convert my free account to a paid plan. I didn't.

I've only paid the bill because the services have the same name as my business account.

We're a small retail store and have had to work in the store due to a lack of staff during Covid.

I've just got some accounting caught up and now that we've discovered the issue they're basically saying, "Hey, we've been successfully screwing you. Since you didn't catch it you don't get a refund".

But we'll cancel the auto renewal for you.

They didn't.

Don't trust these guys. Check your accounts every week. Buy your email services from someone else.

I'm paying for email services, storage and a calendar I didn't want.

I'll be moving our companies email to another vendor as soon as our term runs out.

Desired outcome: I should get a refund

GoDaddy winitback2022.org domain

I received a text message with a link to this domain inviting me to take a survey. for the "official 2022 nationwide census".
The main page to the site (of course I did not click on the full link) is a page that does not state who this entity is.
The whois registry lists a proxy company as the owner, and the domain is registered with go Daddy.
Domains By Proxy, LLC
The supposed phone number the text came from is a same area code as my own, but I didn't look into it any further.

Desired outcome: Take the domain down for bad actor behavior.

GoDaddy Hosted Web site - Data loss

Recently there was a change to our web site. GoDaddy notified us of a re-hosting to a new server. After the change the latest information on the site was six months old. When we contacted GoDaddy they said they took the image of our site six months ago and just now move the site, using the old image on the new server.

We pay for data backups in addition to the hosting fee. We asked the data to be restored so to recover the last 6 months, we were told those backups don't exist and there was nothing GoDaddy could do.

This is inexcusable and a loss to our company that will cost us to try and recover. Our IT staff say they might be able to recover >50% of the lost data.

The fact that GoDaddy has washed it hands of this is deplorable. We will be moving our site as soon as possible.

Desired outcome: Restoration of our lost data

GoDaddy Hosting and Website inaccessibility for 8 days

So all these are ploys by Godaddy to cover up. It has been one week of hell and cannot access all my websites. I was made to even pay extra for restoration and they could not even do it. Now refund is going to take another 5 - 7 days! After messing up and telling us to get our developers to fix the problem the issue rather is from the hosting systems and not from the client-side. I am surely going to take an action against Godaddy!

Desired outcome: Resolve Issue and Refund Our Monies for Restoration
