We rented a campervan from Go Explore (Scotland) Ltd in June 2025. During one low‑speed manoeuvre, our mirror brushed one parked vehicle and then, in the same motion, clipped another. There was no damage to the rental vehicle, but the company classed it as two accidents and withheld our entire £1 500 security deposit as an “insurance excess.” Despite months of requests, they refused to provide insurer documentation or evidence that our deposit was needed. Even the BVRLA declined jurisdiction because it was an insurance matter. Based on our experience of poor communication, lack of transparency, and unfair treatment, I would caution others to avoid this company or demand written confirmation of how deposits are handled.
