Their poor service continues, charging customers for weeks they do not pick up garbage. We had ONE snow day on Monday, but instead of coming later in the week, they simply had their computer call and tell all missed customers they will come next week. So I called and explained that it is illegal to charge for services not rendered and all missed customers should be refunded the charge for this week. The agent on the phone would not agree to any refund and I asked to escalate the issue to management. After being put on hold for 12 minutes the agent told me I would be reimbursed half of what is due.
Record the service that was missed, your conversation with GFL and their partial refusal to refund. Write a letter demanding complete refund while making reference to consumer protection acts against charges for services not rendered. If they do not agree, make complaints through your state attorney general and local consumer protection agency. You should also think about changing to another provider who is more dependable.
