So, I had this thing happen to me, right? I got this invoice from BNI Publications Inc. for something I didn't even order. Can you believe it? I mean, is this like mail fraud or what? I'm telling you, if I could give them negative stars, I totally would! And get this, when I called them up to complain, they got all offended and acted like I was the one in the wrong. Seriously shady, if you ask me.

We got two invoices (N-[protected]) for a book we didn't ask for. We didn't order nothin', but they still charged us $107.22 for not sendin' it back. We ain't never ordered no book from these guys. After readin' other complaints, seems like this is somethin' they do all the time.

It seems like BNI Publications Inc hasn't learned from the complaints of others. They keep sending books to people who didn't even order them. After reading the reviews, we realized that we are facing the same problem. They keep billing us for a book we never asked for. I called them and they assured me that they would handle it and told me not to send the book back. However, we still keep receiving invoices. I won't pay for the book, but I'm willing to return it if they cover the shipping costs. I won't be ordering anything else from this company.

This company is a scam. Like many of the reviewers here, I got a cost book in the mail, I never ordered the book. I emailed them many times to cancel the account, no response was received, except for multiple invoices to pay for the book that I never ordered. The first time I got the cost book, I emailed them to return the book and the company said there is no need to return and to keep it. And a few weeks later I got an invoice, another month later, I got another invoice. This company should be investigated and shut down for the unlawful practices.

I had the same thing happen to me too. They sent me a free costin book in the mail, along with an invoice and envelope to pay back $100. When I called them, it went straight to voicemail. I called them again the next day, and some customer service person told me that he cancelled my invoice and I won't get any more reminders. He also said I could donate the book to a nearby library. But just last week, I got another invoice with a second reminder to pay for the book that I didn't even order. Even on their website, it says the book is free. I filled out the contact form on their website, but I still haven't gotten a reply. This seems like a scam to me, and it looks like the company is trying to trick people into paying for products they didn't order. If I could, I would give them negative stars.

What kind of scam is this company running? I ordered a single 2020 cost book, and now I'm being sent books and invoices for extra stuff that I never ordered! They don't answer their number and there's no email address for this company! This company needs to be shut down. And what a waste of money for my actual (and only) order back in 2020. How are we supposed to believe that any of the cost info is accurate now when *** is clearly running an illegitimate operation? So, I recently tried out this company called BNI Publications Inc. They claimed to offer a trial of one of their books, which sounded pretty cool. I thought, why not give it a shot? They sent me the book, but here's where things got a bit frustrating.

I got this letter from BNI Publications Inc. saying "Second Reminder" about a $100.70 bill for something I didn't buy or get. I didn't even get a First Notice, or else I would've complained sooner. Their website seems sketchy too, no fax or direct email to send any proof.

BNI Publications, they said they'd send me a pricing book without saying anything about a fee or explaining an invoice. When I got this "pricing book" and a $140 bill, I quickly sealed it back up and sent it back through USPS. But now, I'm getting letters demanding payment. I didn't want the book that BNI Publications Inc sent to my address at *** with invoice number N-*** on 9/7. I returned it unopened, but they still sent me another one today. I emailed the "contact now" address, but it didn't help. I don't want any more books from this company and I've asked them to stop sending them. They sent a second reminder for the book I already returned, which I disagree with. I want my account to be closed. This has happened before, and I don't want any more books because canceling through email doesn't work. I'm the office manager, ***.

I got a free sample of the Architect's Squarefoot Costbook, the 2022 edition, from BNI Publications Inc. They said it was free in the email, but later I received a bill for $100.77. I realized that the free trial was only for 30 days, so I thought I made a mistake and paid BNI Publications the money I owed them. I made the payment on August 5. It's now March 1, 2022, and I'm still receiving invoices for the book that I already paid for. They keep sending me more copies of the book as well. On August 5, I tried to cancel the book and return it. They sent me an email confirmation saying, "Your invoice (N-[protected]) has been canceled." However, I keep receiving invoices and books, and I just want it to stop. Thank you.

I got invoices from this company for books I never ordered. The only book I ordered from them was in 2016, the *** Building codes and Square Foot Calculator. It's 2022 now, and I don't live at the address they keep sending bills to for orders I didn't make. I've called them multiple times and sent back bills with letters explaining the problem. But you can never reach anyone during regular business hours. The invoice numbers N-***, N-***, and N-*** are for code books in 2022 that I didn't order. Please stop billing me for things I didn't order and don't want. Stop sending mail to the address you have on file, and don't contact me. Fix this problem.

BNI Publications Inc, also known as BNI building news, sent me an unexpected *** Foot cost book for a free 30-day trial. The invoice was dated 1/19/22 and amounted to $109.70. I never requested this book, and I am not subscribed to any other *** services. To make matters worse, they shipped it to my billing address instead of the shipping address, which meant I had to endure a 10-hour round trip drive just to collect this unwanted item. It's really disappointing to see such poor business ethics from ***. As a result, I have decided to remove *** from my department's resources.

I had to deal with incredibly rude customer support while trying to get this invoice corrected, but unfortunately, I didn't get any results. I would be genuinely surprised if this is considered a legal business practice. To add insult to injury, I received a second notice on 3/14 regarding the outstanding invoice. I am simply not willing to bear the cost of a 10-hour drive just to pick up a product I never asked for.

1/31/2022 - I got a package from *** Publication aka BNi Books. Inside was a "Free Preview" copy of *** Foot Costbook. I never asked for this book, never ordered it, and never signed up for any subscription from this company. They just sent it to me on their own. The package also had an invoice for the book and a letter saying that if I didn't return the book within 30 days (it was sent on January 19, 2022), they would charge me for the "Free Preview" publication. I reached out to the company and they said they canceled the invoice and my account, but when I checked their payment portal, the payment still showed as unpaid. I read online complaints that they send customers to collections if they don't pay for the unwanted product.

In 2019, I saw an ad for a 90day trial copy of the *** costbook and asked for the trial. After a short time, I realized it wasn't what I was looking for and wasn't willing to pay the $95 to keep the copy. However, the company didn't give any info on how to return the book, just an invoice. *** went straight to voicemail, so I sent several emails. After no response, I called again and managed to talk to a person named Estros. He said he'd cancel the invoice and subscription, and I could donate the book to the local library. Fast forward one year, and I get the 2021 edition and another invoice for $100. Called again and spoke to Estros once more. He said he'd cancel my invoice and subscription again. I asked for a confirmation email saying it happened, but that email never came. I just got my 2022 edition and an invoice for $109. All I want is to stop getting these books and invoices.

Last year, I got a "courtesy" preview of a cost estimating book from BNI. If you're interested, they invite you to review the book for free and you have 30 days to send it back. The tricky part is figuring out when those 30 days start. I asked for a preview, and the countdown began a few days after my request. Then, I got the book in the mail over a week later. It wasn't exactly a 30-day review, but I thought I could still send it back in time if I didn't want to keep it. So, I got the book and found that it was generally what they advertised, but it wasn't specific enough for my region. I decided to send it back within the 30-day window. However, in the weeks that followed, I kept getting mail from BNI asking for payment for a book I didn't keep. Their customer service hours are limited for regular folks like me, but you can leave a voicemail according to the automated call system. Well, turns out neither of the extensions work to reach a person or leave a voicemail. At least last year, I could get a free return shipping label. After I sent an email to the company, they stopped bothering me. For a while, at least. I didn't ask for an updated version of the book, but this year they sent me a new copy without me telling them to. I checked their website, and there's no shipping label available. Once again, their customer service line leads to nowhere. I ended up paying for the return shipping. It feels like they're using aggressive tactics to sell their products.
