If it were possible I would have given them ZERO stars.

10+ years ago I built my home and used EMTEK's Durango bronze levers (interior and exterior door handles) throughout. SeveraI of them started BREAKING. In today's world does anyone expect that a door handle that costs $130 - $150 per set (I bought dozens) should last less than say 25 to 30 years? I certainly do not.

So, I called EMTEK's customer service because on their website it states that they provide a Limited Lifetime warranty. The CSR told me that the Limited Lifetime warranty only applies to products purchased since April 2012. Anything purchased prior to April of 2012 had only a 5 year warranty. When I asked them to provide me with that warranty they declined saying that it was my responsibility to keep the warranty slip that came with the product.

EMTEK's solution was for me to buy their replacement product. RIGHT! I am just about to spend more money on a product that does not last and that is produced by a company that does not stand behind their products.

The bottom line is that EMTEK does not stand behind their product and their product is CRAP.

STAY AWAY FROM EMTEK PRODUCTS!

The slick images of Emtek’s products aren’t that similar to the products in real life. From my view, the materials don’t do well within a couple of years - and who wants to replace their hardware every two or three years? I think the overall goals of the company aren’t realistic, if they are selling products that don’t work that well for relatively expensive price tags. It’s also very confusing just trying to order the hardware at a retail location. There are tons of options and specifications. It could make your mind spin. You would think they would pay more attention to feedback from customers and the people who sell these products. What a hassle for disappointing products.
