I've been banking with Dover Federal Credit Union for 4 years. They told me I needed a business license and a DBA to open a business account, even though my business doesn't really need them. I paid for them anyway, but when I called to open the account, they just flat out said no. For over a year, I've been depositing my business funds into my personal account. It seems like I'll have to find another bank to do my banking with.

I've been a member of Dover Federal Credit Union for 36 years
I've been a member of Dover Federal Credit Union for 36 years. I do all my banking there and have multiple accounts, investments, and loans. Recently, I paid off one of my vehicles. However, when I received the title, it still showed a lien on it. Not only that, but there was also an expiration date and a difference of 23,000 miles on the odometer reading compared to the actual mileage on the car. This difference in mileage reduces the value of the car by almost $5,000 due to depreciation. I made five phone calls and even had a physical appointment to try and resolve this issue, but all I got were lies. They never returned my calls or took any action. It has now been over a month, and I've had enough of this.
This bank is the worst I've ever had
This bank is the worst I've ever had. I'm switching banks because their instant debit card machine is never working. I've been to every location in Kent county to get a new card, but I can't wait 10-14 business days for one in the mail. It's really inconvenient. Last time my card was stolen, I never got a replacement in the mail. Now it's blocked because of a fraudulent charge. The card machines are never working, and I've been emailing back and forth with a representative, but it takes days for each response. She keeps saying some machines are working, but every time I go, they say their instant print card machines are down. The app always crashes, and when you call for help, you wait on hold for 30 mins to two hours and they don't even assist you. I don't recommend this bank at all. I've been with them for over 5 years and I still don't recommend them. Put your money in a bank that prioritizes you because you won't find that here.

I've been with DFCU for over 40 years. I retired in 2017 and came back to Delaware. Since I always had the account, I decided to use it mainly for my Real Estate biz. I got a bunch of auto payments linked to my work tied to that account. Lately, I tried using the drive-thru ATM in Smyrna. When I put my card in, I heard it drop inside the machine. I went inside to get my card and they told me the person who services the ATM forgot to put the box back. They knew the ATM wasn't working, but nobody bothered to put a sign or close the lane. They said they could print a new card, but I didn't want that because of all the auto payments tied to the acct. They said I had to wait until the following Thursday when the service person came back. I told them I'd be out of town and really needed access to my card. They said nothing could be done and I'd get a call when the card was ready. I had to take out cash and drive to Dover to deposit it in my Wells Fargo acct so I'd have enough money for my work conference. I never got a call about my card and when I went to get it, they said they couldn't go in the vault to get my card due to short staffing. I spent hours trying to get in touch with someone but no luck. Their website is a problem and the wait times for phone service are terrible. I finally got my card 12 days later, but no apology for the frustration and inconvenience. They also refused to give me the first and last name of a supervisor, which is always a sign of an organization with lots of complaints. Terrible service, no accountability, and poor follow-up. On 1/29/2023, I went to the Camden DE location to deposit $1245.00 in my account for my mortgage. The machine spit out a couple of bills and said they were unreadable. Then, it spit out a few more bills on the ground just before the screen went out. The ATM money door started opening and closing, and then everything shut down. It was a Sunday at 5:00 pm, so I didn't know what to do. The machine still had $845.00 of my deposit and my debit card when it stopped working. I talked to the ATM camera, recorded a video of the whole thing, and called every number I could find, but no one responded. I called the local police department to inform them about the situation and expressed my fear of leaving the machine unattended. The officer said I had done everything I could and advised me to call them first thing Monday morning. After a total of 45 minutes, I decided to leave and go home. I called first thing on Monday (9:00 am) and spoke to a lady named Sheryl, who informed me that the machines are audited once a week. She said I would have to wait, but I told her that was unacceptable and requested to speak to a manager. She transferred me to the Camden DE location to speak to a manager, who informed me that I was out of luck. The ATM machines are owned and maintained by an outside company, which had just serviced them the previous week and wouldn't return for another week or two. They would audit the machine to account for the $845.00, and I would have to wait. I explained that they needed an emergency contact number for the ATM company because this was my mortgage money, and I couldn't wait. She told me there was nothing she could do about it. She said she would pass my information on to a higher-up named Todd Wilson, but reiterated that there was nothing they could do. I was becoming very upset because I take pride in never being late on anything, and she stated that they were not responsible. I haven't received a response from the bank yet.
