This company provided possibly the worst service imaginable. After being in our home for less than two months my husband and I received a notice, on a Friday, requesting information and a "paid invoice from a professional roof cleaning company showing all algae/roof staining has been removed to determine condition." This was our first-time hearing of this request and the e-mail indicated that this invoice had to be provided in less than 24 hours. On a Friday. My husband and I spent the entire weekend panicking and unable to reach anyone with the Don Bullard Agency because it was after business hours. When I was finally able to reach someone the following Monday, I was told that a notification was sent prior to the one sent that Friday, but after searching through my inbox, spam, and trash I had yet to find this alleged e-mail. At this point we were now past the deadline that the insurance company had provided to us and were still completely unable to comprehend why the insurance company was requesting that we have our roof cleaned, as the roof had been examined by a licensed general contractor prior to us purchasing the home who found the roof to be in good condition and did not report any issues with algae or roof staining. The customer service rep I was speaking with sent me the inspection from the insurance company, which I was just seeing for the first time. After reviewing the inspection together, the customer service rep agreed that from the pictures that were provided in the inspection there was no reason that the insurance company should be requesting this cleaning occur. She then asked that I send her a brief blurb contesting the need for this cleaning and send it to her and she would also send an e-mail from the Don Bullard Agency stating that they disagreed with this request. I checked in with the customer service rep later that week to see if they had heard anything from the insurance company and she reported that she had not but would reach out the following day.
A week after I spoke with the customer service rep for the first time and we received a "Notice of Cancelation" from the insurance company. Once again this was received after work hours and no one at Don Bullard was available to assist after hours. I even tried reaching out to the Agent who sold me the insurance with Don B., Heather G., and the President of that location, Kara H., and never received a response from either. At the time my husband was away for military training, it was the middle of hurricane season, and I had no idea what was going on. I decided to call the insurance company directly and was told that they had not received ANY communication from Don Bullard regarding our policy. I was also told that whether Don Bullard agreed with the underwriter's assessment or not we were still required to have the roof cleaning completed or insurance would be canceled. While the outcome of the assessment may have not been amendable, had we received the assessment when the representative claimed she sent it we would have had more time to switch insurance companies and possibly stay with the Don Bullard Agency. But the way this situation was handled was insulting, incompetent, and unacceptable. We have since switched to a smaller insurance company that cares more about its customers and could not be happier.
Moral: Don't always go with the lowest cost as it is not always the best.
