On November 16, I went to Davy Truck Sales in Courtice, ON to buy a truck. They had a 2013 *** Truck listed for $18,900. The price made me unsure, so it took me a day or so to decide. I talked to Shawn J. and Adam D. who offered the truck for $20,709.87 with safety certification. We agreed on December 17, and I gave them a $2000 deposit. They said it would take a few days to get the truck ready, but they would give me the necessary papers for licensing. On November 27, they gave me a Standard Safety Certificate and Drive Clean Emission papers, but the truck still needed work. They assured me that they were doing repairs and would provide a repair report. After weeks of broken promises, I finally picked up the truck on December 14 at around 4:30pm. I parked it for the night at my truck spot. The next day, December 15, I had trouble starting the truck at 5am. I called Davy Truck Sales, but couldn't reach anyone. I called again at 10:30am and spoke to Shawn and Adam about the issues, including an electrical fault message. Shawn said I needed to let it run because they didn't know how long it had been sitting. The next morning, December 16, the truck wouldn't start at all. I tried for an hour and then called Shawn and Adam again. They basically said it wasn't their problem and hung up on me. Before I paid, they were polite and professional, but now that they had my $20,000, their attitude changed. I couldn't get a mechanic to look at the truck until December 21. The report showed a faulty Body Control Module, which would cost $2212 plus an $875 core fee. I told Davy Truck Sales about the issue and cost, but they hung up on me again. I went to the shop to talk to them in person, but Adam had already left. I spoke to Shawn and asked for the repair report from their mechanic, which they hadn't given me as promised. The report I received on December 21 was dated November 27. When I picked up the truck on December 14, they said they hadn't received the report yet. Now that I have it, I see that it's dated November 27, the same day I got the safety and emission papers. The repairs mentioned in the report weren't done on November 27. I'm frustrated and they don't seem interested in fixing their mistake, so I have to take further steps to find a solution.
