Currys review: Safety hazard - currys installation has left us with no gas, heating or hot water in november!!!
I am writing this public review to escalate a catastrophic and dangerous failure by Currys' installation team. On 03/11/2026, installers fitted a Neff oven at my property. In doing so, their gross negligence rendered my existing gas hob completely inoperable.
When I called to report this severe error, customer service refused an immediate fix, telling me I had to wait until 10th November. More alarmingly, when I called the repairs department on 04/11/2026 to highlight the severe safety risk of leaving a gas appliance compromised, the representative instructed me to turn off my mains gas supply and offered a derisory, insulting £20 compensation.
Because of Currys’ incompetence, my household has been escalated from having no cooking appliances to being entirely deprived of gas central heating and hot water in the depths of November. Forcing a family to shut down their entire heating infrastructure because your installers compromised a gas utility is an absolute failure of your duty of care. We have already suffered compounding financial losses from spoiled food, emergency takeaway meals, and alternative electric heating utilities.
Currys is in direct breach of Section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (failure to perform services with reasonable care and skill) and has created an emergency environmental hazard in my home.
I flatly reject your £20 offer. I demand that a senior manager contacts me immediately to dispatch a Gas Safe registered engineer on an emergency 24-hour priority basis to safely restore my gas utilities.
If this is not resolved immediately, I will exercise my legal right to reject the Neff oven for a full refund, report this safety breach to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), take the case to the Energy Ombudsman, and hold Currys fully liable for all consequential losses and independent repair costs.
Following this public review, Currys has also contacted me via Facebook Messenger—only to offer another hollow bureaucratic delay. They claim they have "escalated" the issue but told me I must wait another 48 hours.
This is entirely unacceptable. I have already been dealing with this dangerous utility emergency since Tuesday (03/11/2026). Suggesting that a household left completely without gas, central heating, or hot water in November should wait an additional two days just to get a response is a total disregard for customer safety and basic welfare.
Moving the conversation to private social media messages to buy time will not work. This is a safety crisis, not a standard customer service query. I expect immediate, direct contact from a senior manager with an emergency Gas Safe engineer dispatch confirmation today—not a placeholder message in 48 hours.
Recommendation: DO NOT USE
