CRI Genetics Advertising and customer review for Crigenetics

I purchased 6 Crigenetic's DNA test kits and associated reports for my family between May 2019 and September 2022 base on your advertising and customer reviews at the time.

I now see that a court has ruled that some of the advertising statements made by Crigenetics were found to be false or misleading and some customer reviews had been made up.

It also found that there were 'dark patterns' in the online billing process.

I feel that I and my family who received the kits were subject to all of these misleading points

Desired outcome: I would like an apology as a customer who brought the kits from your company in good faith and a compensation payment for the upset to myself and my family caused by this discovery that what we purchased was not as you advertised.

CRI Genetics CRI Genetics will not send me my raw DNA data

CRI Genetics will not send me my raw DNA data. I recently had a DNA test done with CRI Genetics. Yesterday I requested my raw DNA data as I wish to upload it to other DNA sites in order to search for biological relatives. This is their response: "Hi ***, Thanks for getting back to us. I am well, too, thank you for asking! Here in CRI Genetics, you're valuable to us and we want to make sure that your needs are met. I understand that you want to get your Raw Data and upload it to a different DNA Database for further analysis or get more details about your DNA traits. Unfortunately, we don't offer Raw Data upload/download at the moment. We apologize if we won't be able to fulfill your request. The reason why we're not offering Raw Data upload/download is for your protection. We value the privacy and the confidentiality of your DNA information. Please be informed that some DNA websites accepting Raw Data can be used for data mining. Some DNA testing companies are being accused of sharing their customer's information with pharmaceutical companies without the customer's knowledge or consent. This is what we are trying to avoid here. Your DNA information is susceptible to Data Mining and our Patented Algorithm being compromised at the same time. However, Raw Data download is one of our future plans. We are trying to establish a connection to a reliable DNA database and possibly in the future, we can offer it. In the meantime, we can put your account on our mailing list so that once the service becomes available, you will be notified about it. We value your business and appreciate your patience. It is my utmost goal to resolve all your concerns. Have a nice day!" *** This is my reply to the above: Dear ***, Thank you for the reply. Surely the raw DNA data .. having paid for it .. is my property to have? I am not concerned about data mining or your protection in this instance. If data mining is going to happen it could happen on any of these websites including CRI Genetics. The reason I had my DNA tested is because I am looking for biological relatives that was why the mtDNA haplogroup was important to me. I have now learnt that autosomal DNA raw data is what I should be uploading to find biological relatives. If you do not share the raw data with customers who have paid for the service why is this not clearly stated in the advertising? Would it be possible to put in a request for me to receive my raw data? I am willing to take full responsibility. Hope to hear from you soon. Best regards *** (***).

Ordered DNA test 7/3. On 7/18 i order additional tests. They charged me for the full amount of additional test but the tests never unlocked. I got my results today and they are wildly inaccurate. It lists the same countries everyone else has been reporting. German, Punjabi, Chinese, etc. I'm Irish. There was very little to no Irish DNA reported. This test is wildly inaccurate and I want my full refund of $295. I called and tried to obtain my refund from them, and they only offered me half. If it was my mistake I would accept half, but this issue is not the first time it has been reported. Over 600 complaints against this company for the same reason. I can't believe I didn't look this up before buying. I want my money back.

September 25th of 2021 I purchased a kit from CRI. I returned the sample early October. I paid extra to expedite my results(3-6 weeks) An email came in telling me it would 6-8 which is standard timing. I emailed back to inquire and they confirmed I was correct and shortly after my report was available. I could help but think to myself they just threw something together so they could keep within that time frame. The results were insanely false- I thought okay don't worry you might have been misinformed by family. Completely forgot about it as I had to block the non stop emails they sent (drove me crazy). Anyway I did ancestry and the results were pretty darn close to what I had been told, so way off from CRI. I was super confused as to who was correct, but life happened and I didn't pursue it anymore. Last week I got my results from 23 and me and they were almost IDENTICAL to ancestry so AGAIN CRI WAS wayy off. I did some research on results from CRI and it seems they give everyon roughly the same results. I KNOW 100% I'm Native American as my mom grew up on a reservation. When she was a teen she met my***. *** I sent an email to tell them about the issue about a month ago and no response- I'm hard of hearing and cannot call. Also, don't get me started on the "health and wellness" that is a joke- it's only POSSIBLE traits but it sure tried to push on me "blue eyes" my are very brown. Only a couple of there guess were correct.

I ordered a DNI testing kit from CRI Genetics. I registered my kit on July 30 and received the results on August 17. My sister and other family members have traced our relatives back several hundred years, so I know that my father's family lived in Belgium before moving to the U.S. in the late 1800s. My mother's family is primarily German, with some Polish, and came to the U.S. around the same time. My results are wildly divergent: 43% German, 19.6% Scandinavian, 11.9% Italian, 11.3% English, 9.2% Hungarian and 2.5% Spanish. CRI claims with 99% accuracy that I have relatives from the British Isles, Chinese Dai, Iberian and Toscani Italian living from around [protected]. The "famous" person who shares my DNA is***, an ***. This is totally fabricated and a waste of money. After reading the experiences of others, I am not surprised. I even paid extra to get my report back sooner because I was told it would take months otherwise, and received these bogus results in little more than a week. I want my money refunded.

I paid $100 for the DNA test from CRI GENETICS. After I received my results, I read over and over them and calculated that 80% of them were completely wrong and the rest were under the heading "LIKELY" meaning maybe right, maybe wrong. I was so disappointed in this company. I should have used another company friends had recommended. I learned absolutely nothing and wasted $100. I highly recommend people DO NOT use this company.

CRI Genetics My DNA results came back very inaccurate and CRI Genetics refused to offer me a full refund

My DNA results came back very inaccurate and CRI Genetics refused to offer me a full refund. My mother purchased a DNA kit for me from CRI Genetics for Christmas. After submitting the DNA sample and waiting for the DNA to be extracted, my results were ready, and they were so inaccurate. First of all, my mother is Polish. Both her parents were from Poland, their parents were from Poland, their grandparents were from Poland, and so on. The DNA Recent Ancestry results did not mention Poland at all, only Slavic, Germany, Italy, British Isles, and Scandinavia. With the results is a caption stating that "This report should closely match what your parents and grandparents may have told you about your heritage". When speaking with CRI Genetics, they informed me that Poland was part of the Northern European subtype listed under Advanced Ancestry. This subtype includes Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and Kaliningrad. I'm listed as being only 16.1% Northern European, which would mean that I am less than 16% Polish (not sure of the exact number because it is not broken down on my report for me), even though generations of my mother's family were born and spent their entire lives in Poland. I could understand other ethnicities and geographical regions being mixed in along the way, but my percentage of Polish should be much closer to 50% rather than less than 16%. Second, I am half hispanic from my father's side. The results for Recent Ancestry Analysis show that I am 73.1% European and 26.9% AdMixed American. Considering that my grandparents from my father's side were first generation immigrants, I find it hard to believe that a higher percentage of Mexican would not be factored into my results. My results should be much closer to 50% European, 50% AdMixed American. When looking into Advanced Ancestry Analysis, my percentages show 51.1% AdMixed American and 41.9% European. It also shows 4.2% South Asian, 2.2% East Asian, and .9% African. I know that I have none of these ancestry groups in my lineage. In addition to the Ancestry portion, several other aspects, such as traits and allergies were very off. It reported me as having a "Low Sensitivity to Grass Pollen", even though I was allergy tested and that is the substance that I am the most allergic to. I was very upset with my results and almost feel like I got someone else's results. I was even more upset with the customer service and the outcome I received through CRI Genetics. I was offered only a 25% refund after spending over $200 on services from CRI and not being happy at all with what I received. I would like a full refund.

June 13,2022 I paid $89.97 for a genetic testing. Inaccurate results... stating I was 62.8%italian 9.3% eastern Slavic 7.8% Greek 1.7% Spanish 1.5% polish 7.6% Columbian 7.5 % Puerto Rican 1.8% Arab My parents, great grandparents and great great grandparents were all born and raised in Greece. I am first generation Greek American and there is no way that I am 62.8% Italian. We do not have any Italian DNA in my family ancestors. I already contacted them regarding my issue and the response I received was that their test results are 90% accurate. My case number with this company is case ID. I want a refund because I feel as if this is wrong results and now I'm second guessing if I was born to the correct parents.

CRI Genetics refuses to release to each customer his or her own raw DNA data to him or her. This is an unconscionable practice not followed by CRI's competitors. The denial of access to my own raw DNA data was not fully disclosed to me and I would have never subscribed to CRI if it had been disclosed. The company's sole basis for withholding each customer's own raw DNA data from each customer is confidentiality, which makes no sense whatsoever as confidentiality concerns may NOT lawfully bar an individual access to his or her own medical records and DNA data. The company's advertising and promotion of its services is fundamentally false and misleading to the extent that it fails to make this policy manifest.

I purchased two kits, one for me and one for my husband. I have been tested by another company, and I purchased this product this because of the health and additional reports advertised as available. My results are nowhere near what the other company provided. I tested to be 69% English (England), 13% (Irish, Scottish, and Welsh) - basically 92% from British Isles. This report shows me to be 39.3%German as my primary percentage, followed by French, then English, then Hungarian and last Italian to be 91% European. Additional DNA was matched to parts of Asia, Dutch, Eastern Europe, the lower Americas, and other places nobody in any geneological research I've done several generations back on both sides comes from. My father's family came from London, England to the US in the mid 1700s and this is all documented. I am tied to actual known family members through through the English ancestor/DNA matches done by the first report. CRI's report for both me and my husband has percentages almost idential, and this is highly unlikely. My blood type is very common and this reports suggests otherwise. I had questions before results were obtained, and my last email was never answered. I do not believe the results are anywhere near accurate.

CRI Genetics Results inaccurate based on well kept history of my family's lineage

Results inaccurate based on well kept history of my family's lineage. A large chunk of my ancestry was left out and replaced with Nigerian heritage. The purchasing process was fine. I had to have another shipping label emailed to me due to the preexisting label on the box ripped. My experience with customer service has not been unpleasant. My issue with my order, order--ID: ***--is that the site states "One report shows you a breakdown of the most recent ancestries in your family history." as well as "Our Advanced Ancestry Timeline takes you back 50+ generations, to find out exactly WHEN and WHERE your ancestors are from" and "Get the FULL picture of your family history, by matching your DNA with 642,824 genetic markers". However, my Cherokee ancestry--which is visible not only in my physical appearance, the appearance of my mother, her mother, and my great grandmother, but also found on both sides of my family within generations who were alive until recent years. That ancestry is no where to be found on my report and I feel as though if I knew that I wouldn't have access to that as suggested by the wording on the site, I would not have purchased the test even at its discounted rate. The final response that I received for my most recent inquiry included "Native American is represented by the category Admixed American; we use this term because it includes various other indigenous tribes of South and North America such as Incas, Inuit, Taino, Mexican, and many others who descend from Native Americans. We use the subcategories of Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Colombian to identify your Native American traits because based on the Paleo-Indian migration, the Native American's last stop was the tip of South America, about 14,000 years ago. And at that point, they start to develop traits that distinguish them from being Asian, which is their origin (specifically Siberia) prior to crossing over the land bridge called "Beringia" around 15,000 years ago. Now, if you're looking for a specific tribe/group like Cherokee, Apache, etc., unfortunately, our test cannot pinpoint it yet." So I feel like I bought something that I essentially can't use any time soon. I won't get into the wellness reports, but I am also displeased with those and reluctant to believe anything in them if something like leaving a chunk of ancestry has already occurred. My reports seriously just look like a lot of things were replaced with Nigerian. Which makes it feel like the result might be based on a lot of the other transplanted people who live around me in OKC, which has a large Nigerian and Cameroonian population. I would like a full refund because I don't feel like I got what was advertised.

I ordered a dna test from cri and it took a very long time to process further when I got my results the country of origin and 5 generations of family did not line up with any of the information I had. I would have been willing to accept that as an unknown paternity issue except the physical traits also did not line up red hair freckles and green eyes, sense of smell smelling asparagus reactions to mosquito bites etc further the health issue that I paid for was missing dat for pretty much all of what I had concerns about it was literally so very foreign that I seriously consider it was the wrong test. when I contacted them about it I was not directed to anyone who could resolve it and just brushed off. I do not recommend this test to anyone.

I purchased two CRI genetic test for both my Mom and I and the results cannot be further from the truth about my family members origins. They got Europe as main origin, but the countries in Europe where my family ancestors are from are completely wrong and far from the reality. Obviously these 2 DNA testing were completely wrong. I have not talked to a CRI representative yet but I was researching on the web other posts about complaints similar to mine and so I am posting with the Complaintsboard.com to add to the long list of CRI customers who were also taking advantage off and who obtained wrong results. My mom and I are very disappointed and hopefully CRI genetics will contact us to issue a reimbursement and maybe will offer to redo our tests for free in the process and this time they might get it right.

I completed a kit in April . The results are completely bogus. I know my genetics from other services and thoroughly researched genealogy. I obviously do not have the hispanic/latin genes they claim (I am fair/blue-eyed/blonde Irish). My genealogical research is confirmed back by 500 years, they indicated I am less than 10% DNA of my ancestral lands. My immediate family has taken multiple DNA tests with more reputable institutions that confirm my claims against CRI Genetics. I primarily took this test for deeper health insights, but they are not available without additional payment and are limited to 'traits' rather than health predispositions. They send random results. They clearly to not even test samples, otherwise this is the most inept genetics lab to advertise services to the public. I contacted them multiple time and got the same gas-lighting form letter repeatedly. They do not even provide a downloadable file. There is no evidence AT ALL that testing is conducted.

CRI Genetics I have received faulty ancestry test results based off family history

I have received faulty ancestry test results based off family history. I have recieved faulty ancestry test results based off my family history, On May 24 I purchased one Ancestry Analysis / Health and Wellness report, two DNA Collection mtDNA analysis, one DNA Y DNA analysis , one haplo Analysis of Related Famous People, for myself and for my husband. During this inital purchase, as I was checking out, I was given the discounted opportunity to purchase an extra in depth analysis of both our maternal and paternal halogroups, which I did. Upon recieving our reports we were both disappointed and highly suspicious that zero percent Norwegian was listed in our analysis as we have lineage tracing back generations to being Norwegian. To further our doubt the Health and Wellness portion of our reports showed no results, even though I paid extra for it. When a specific tab is clicked in this section of the analysis (i.e. salt taste sensitivity, allergies, food cravings, etc.) I am prompted to purchase more tests rather than provided with information about my individual DNA. Upon further research I see customers that filed complaints with Complaintsboard.com have similar frustrating experiences to mine. I would like a full refund of my purchases with CRI Genetics including sales tax and shipping. I recently bought CRI Genetics and have sent several emails about my results that I have received. They even tried to explain things to me that would make sense. However, there is just no way that I'm *** with no chance of *** inside of me. ***, they don't even have me as being *** on there when I know I am. The literal definition they have for the recent analysis is how the reports should closely match with what my parents and grandparents have told me about my heritage. Which they don't. Specifically, they think I'm from ***. ***. My family came from *** not too many generations back. Around maybe the 5th generation and that's when my ancestor married and had kids with a *** American. Yet, I have so little *** American even in my advanced analysis. It doesn't make any sense at all. At this point, I just want my money back. They didn't even give me my health & wellness report or the maternal haplo report that I paid for. Yes they said they would get it to me, but this isn't the first time someone has said something about this. All I want is my money back. That's all.

I purchased a dna kit from cri genetics and was super excited to see what the results revealed. However, there is absolutely no way these results could be accurate. I have photos of the past 4 generations of my family as well as birth records, death records and military records -and there is no way I can be part 6.4% Chinese. While that would be cool, it is simply impossible. There are other inaccuracies as well AND several reports that came out to be inconclusive. I was hoping for a reliable test, and that is far from what I received. I want a full refund.

Several years ago I learned of CRI genetics. I purchased the lifetime VIP with the expectation I would have access to all reports as they become available for no additional cost. Approx a year later they changed their service platform, which requires the purchase of credits to unlock reports. If you purchase the VIP plan, you get 3 credits per month to unlock the reports you want. Each report requires 1 credit to unlock. I was originally told this did not apply to me as I had purchased my product prior to this change. Throughout the last year or more, I have had to contact customer service to unlock new reports. At first, there was no issue and they gladly unlocked reports and have repeatedly said they would fix the issue. They never did. Today, I was informed my VIP product gives me 3 credits per month for life at no additional cost. This was not the product I purchased and they will not fix it. They changed their product AFTER I purchased it. Apparently, they are not familiar with grandfathering. Customer service contacted me after I posted a review on Trustpilot. I spoke with ***. and she promised me repeatedly that she would fix my account. She told me she would let "the lab know" to automatically unlock reports for my account. I logged on today and there are at least 6 new reports that are locked. My husband also purchase the lifetime VIP in 2020 and all new reports are locked on his account as well. When I have attempted to contact customer service, I cannot speak to the same person and every new person I have to explain the entire issue. I'm tired of dealing with this but truly want my account and my husband's account to be fixed. It doesn't seem that difficult.

I paid over $200 for a bogus report. It honestly looks like they took a bunch of different areas and tried to tie my lineage to it. Facts I KNOW are in my ancestry weren't listed and when I called to question, he was pleasant but just kept giving me roundabout answers to my questions. Also, I ordered extra findings for my results only to get roundabout answers again. Eg: asked if there were famous people in my ancestry and the results said I did, but no one or nothing was listed. Response, "we don't track peoples names or locations". So paid for nothing there. Also asked for my maternal haplo and those results were more confusing and inaccurate as the rest of that bogus test. I was stupid enough to refer someone to them before getting my results and turns out that hers was as inaccurate as mine. I feel they do false advertising just to get extra money knowing they don't perform the task.

CRI Genetics I purchased an ancestry kit from *** I feel that they use false advertising on their website

I purchased an ancestry kit from *** I feel that they use false advertising on their website. The DNA results are very generic! Don't waste your money and time with this company! I have tried to resolve my complaint with this company with several back and forth email and finally a phone call tonight *** I can see that I am getting nowhere. The only good thing that I can say about the company is that they have responded to my emails quickly. I purchased the kit for my daughter for Christmas. She has been doing some ancestry research on her own and was excited to get this kit to help build her family tree. With this company doesn't tell you is that they do not provide any ancestor names. The information that I sent to you is a joke. It's basically a map with a few pin points on it. When you click on the pinpoints it tells about the people in that region. It does not to tell you specifics about your family other than the areas where they are from. I honestly felt like I was reading a research report about different areas around the country. It is nothing that I couldn't of found on my own. My reference number is XXXXXXXX. The kit number was VeXXXXXX for *** and it was purchased through my PayPal account ending with *** on *** for *** My daughter got her results on *** which was within the allotted time frame but we feel that there was false advertising on their site. I quote that the site says "there's a detailed ancestry timeline that shows you where your relatives are from and exactly how and when they got there". Even after looking at the advanced timeline there's information that does not make any sense to a regular person and we're basically looking at a map that has little dots on it. It does not give how and when our relatives arrived. The information is very generic. We were under the impression that we would get names of relatives that we could add to what we've already searched on our own. When I spoke on the phone to a customer service person they informed me that they do not provide ancestors names at this time but would email me in the future if that was something that they had the capability of doing. The information that CRI provided does not do us any good especially since they informed me they are not working with any DNA database to where they could help us find other ancestors names. Their site says there's a *** satisfaction guarantee. They guarantee the customer will be happy. Well, we aren't happy at all. We feel that we have not received any useful and detailed information. I was hoping for a resolution to this issue without having to file a complaint but that has not happened even after multiple emails and a phone call. I'm hoping for a full refund.

CRI Genetics They promised to analyze DNA data with reports which I paid for and did not receive

They promised to analyze DNA data with reports which I paid for and did not receive. On June 8 paid for A DNA analysis kit and additional health and wellness. Upon review of my results they appear to be completely inaccurate and in fact I question if they analyzed my DNA sample at all or mixed it up with someone elses. The geneology portion which claims to date back 6 generations is inaccurate and I never received my health and wellness reports. I paid to also have my father's side of DNA and it was not done. They also lure you to buy additional kits and services at time of purchase which makes it difficult to avoid on the webpage. I am requesting a full refund! I have attached the 3 receipts below. CRI Genetics False and Misleading Information

False and Misleading Information. Unethical Billing Practices. I purchased a DNA Kit # *** on 12/30 from CRI Genetics. I have taken DNA tests from 3 other companies which all match with slight variations. After waiting 2 months from when I purchased the test (when every other company had the results to me in 3 weeks or maybe 4 at the longest, but CRI says it's an additional $30 for that) I get a notice that my results are ready. I was appalled that it told me I'm German, Italian, French and Southern Slavic. The generations report says my ancestors are Sri Lankan, Bengali, Puerto Rican, Gujarati Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Chinese, Japanese, Columbian and Peruvian. I know for a fact that my family is full Irish and Scottish on my Mother's side and my Father is 100% Native American. The results from CRI Genetics lists no Native American, although we are tribal registered and have been for generations which requires proof of blood lines. And absolutely nothing about Irish or Scottish which I also have documentation of going back a couple hundred years. Not only are the results 100% inaccurate, the sales practices are misleading. It doesn't make it known that they do not connect you with other DNA matches. Although for an additional $10 they will give you some BS story about how you have the same Haplogroup as ***. No joke, that's exactly what it told me. When ordering online I should have known it was a scam. You click to order your kit and it asks for your info and credit card right away. Then each time you click to finish the order it tries to sell you another add on such as an additional kit at a discount, famous people report for $10, expedited results saying you go to the front of the line for an additional $30, expedited shipping, etc. It seriously pops up 10 different screens trying to sell you stuff before the order is placed. What it also doesn't tell you is that each time you click to add something on it charges your credit card immediately so you have multiple charges. You don't even get the chance to confirm your order at the end because it's already charged you. When I called customer service they feed you some BS story about how your family migrated over the years. The other 3 companies that I purchased from all tell me information that I knew first hand and have documentation on. Some even give you migration stories and they have nothing to do with Germany, Italy, France or Southern Slavic or any other places CRI listed. This company is a scam and I'm reading other reviews on how they give other people the same results. Common ones are Sri Lanka, India, Punjabi, Italy and Germany. I wish I had done more research and read the Complaintsboard.com reviews on this company before purchasing their kit. I googled DNA services and some Genetics Digest said this is the #1 best test and had rave reviews and results are the most accurate out of every company out there. I have a feeling I know who published this web page and it's CRI Genetics.

CRI Genetics I've used 2 different DNA test companies other than CRI GENETICS

I've used 2 different DNA test companies other than CRI GENETICS. Both companies provided me with similar results vs. CRI GENETICS I purchased 3 kits one for each of my parents & myself. Before purchasing I asked if I could obtain our raw DNA data so I can upload the data on other sites to participate in Geneolgy projects and find distant relatives since CRI DOESN'T PROVIDE DNA CONNECTIONS & the agent said yes of course it's your personal information, we can't keep it from you. I've been trying to get my raw DNA data for each kit, and have been denied. Also I believe that the reports of each kit are false because they don't match up with 2 other companies results which are accurate & the results from CRI don't match up with our geneolgy records, and they didn't provide a timeline as promised explaining every DNA mutation showing the timeline each ancestor appeared to verify their results or composition of our ethnicity.Theres false reports in health data saying I have thick hair but its really thin, and says my father smokes but he doesn't, says my mother is African and Chinese, Peruvian, Russian, and says my dad is Peruvian, african but both are neither! Our geneolgy records verifies that my father is Hawaiian, my mother hispanic not African, Russian, Columbian nor Chinese! The ethnicity, paternal & material haplogroup, and health reports are false, fake or mixed up with other people by accident because they're inconsistent with 2 other companies results, & our geneolgy records, which are both accurate with each other & our geneolgy. The health reports don't even match such as smoking, hair thickness and more. I also purchased a promo deal to receive with each kit: ancestory, MTDNA and Ydna haplogroups, & health data. When we received our results only my father received all 3 & my mother & I didn't. Again, prior to purchase, the agent explained that the company doesn't provide DNA matches so I asked if I could receive each of our raw DNA data so I can upload the files on myfamilytreedna to participate in Geneolgy projects and find distant relatives and the agent said yes of course it's your personal information, it belongs to you, we can't keep it from you. On the contrary when I received my results, I called asked for the raw data and the agent said that it's a privacy concern, they can't provide it to me because companies can obtain them & sell our information to pharmaceutical, insurance companies. I told the agent that the supervisor and agents said we can have our raw DNA data, & it's our personal information and actually by you refusing to provide us with it, it allows your company to sell our personal information instead of prevention. It makes zero sense that they won't give us our personal DATA so that other companies like pharmaceutical companies can't get our personal information breaching our personal privacy because in contrary keeping our personal information allows them to sell our personal information without us giving consent or knowledge.

CRI Genetics Reports not received and inaccurate results

Reports not received and inaccurate results. I just received the recent and advanced analysis results for my DNA kit #BZXXXXXX. I am missing the results of the MtDNA, Health, and famous people reports. Order ID: XXXXXXXXXDate: Thu Dec 10 *** - Charged in *** Collection Kit with Ancestry + Health Analysis *** X 1 = *** Grand Total *** Order ID: XXXXXXXXX- Thu Dec 10 *** DNA Collection mtDNA analysis *** OFF *** - (P) *** X 1 = *** Grand Total *** Order ID: XXXXXXXXX-Date: Thu Dec 10 *** Haplo Analysis of Related Famous People *** OFF - *** (U) *** X 1 = *** Grand Total *** In addition to not receiving my additional reports, the recent and advanced ancestry report is incredibly disappointing and the results are dubious at best. I have had DNA tests performed at 3 other companies prior to CRI Genetics. The previous 3 resemble each other and are believable based on information I know about my family. My family tree has been traced back more than 50 generations and there are no traces of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Punjabi, Bengali, Indian, Sri Lankan, or Columbian heritage. I find myself questioning if my DNA was tested at all. It also says as a trait that I'm unlikely to have red hair and I HAVE red hair along with an entire string of relatives who also have red hair. I noticed on one of CRI genetics marketing pages that included a sample report that the trace amounts of DNA for the marketing/advertising sample report were similar and listed the same ethnicities as well. I find the reports to be entirely inaccurate and CRI genetics should be ashamed of the report provided based upon the inaccurate results, amount charged, and deceptive practices of their marketing. I had contacted customer service on several occasions to inquire and correct the reports not present for an additional kit I purchased. I never received any results or corrections from those inquiries, only emails stating it would get corrected but it never did. I demand a full refund for my report and the bonus kits I ordered for my family members (RSXXXXXX and kit KDXXXXXX) listed below. Order ID: XXXXXXXXX-Date: Thu Dec 10 *** DNA Collection Kit MtDNA or Y-DNA Analysis *** OFF *** Grand Total *** I was also charged shipping for this kit, but it was included in the same box as my original kit which I paid shipping on. Again, deceptive. Order ID: XXXXXXXXX-Date: Tue Dec 22 *** (DNAKitAx1) DNA Collection Kit And Ancestry Background Analysis *** - Save *** X 1 = *** Grand Total *** Order ID: XXXXXXXXX-Date: Tue Dec *** Haplo Analysis of Related Famous People 50% OFF - *** (U) Grand Total *** That's a total refund of *** which is expected. I will accept no other resolution to this issue. The general business practice of CRI Genetics appears to be fraud.

CRI Genetics I am asking for a refund for an additional maternal *** test I ordered but not yet received

I am asking for a refund for an additional maternal *** test I ordered but not yet received. I would also like full refund for all services. Similar to the many other complaints regarding the product and service CRI genetics allegedly provide, as evidenced on the Complaintsboard.com page for this company, I am claiming that: 1) the methodology used by CRI genetics is flawed because the results I received do not accord with the history I know regarding my family tree on my paternal and maternal sides; 2) CRI genetics engages in misleading business practices and communication, at times using high pressure sales techniques, to compel customers to purchase more services that do not actually provide a return on their investment; 3) CRI genetics customer service is ill informed regarding the methods the use to test customers *** and 4) CRI genetics misleads their customers, making them think that their test is comprehensive, when in fact they do not currently test and *** for the Middle East (in which they include Iran). Regarding point 1 above, none of my Iranian ancestry is included in their analysis report of my DNA make up. They claim that Iranian ancestry is included in my Italian ancestry. This is fundamentally flawed and is not supported by any reasonable and compelling evidence. Regarding point 2 above, I saw that they sell a supplemental report for more than *** that is a detailed analysis of my maternal heritage. Given my conversation with them today *** regarding my concerns about the analysis they completed to date, and their revelation that they do not analyze for the Middle East, Iran included, I see no value whatsoever in the supplemental report. Thus, I would like a refund for the supplemental report (which they have not completed yet, as I ordered it on *** On point 3 above, I spoke with a customer service person and a so-called manager. Both were not well informed in my view. They both seemed to read from prepared script that did not really address my questions. Neither provided any scientific evidence and basis for their claims. The manager said that I would get a confirmation for the refund I've requested for the maternal test. I have received no such verification. On point 4 above, CRI genetics uses high pressure marketing. The claim that certain services and reports are available for only a short period of time and/or are limited to only select individuals. But repeated checks on their website indicate that promotional pricing is available at all times. It does not appear to be limited in any way. I think this kind of marketing is manipulative and dishonest. Given the totality of my experience with this company, in addition to the refund I've requested, and which has been promised to me (but I have yet to receive confirmation), I am asking for a total refund of all services they have "provided" to me, inclusive of the standard report, advanced report and health analysis. As I do not trust this company, in addition to confirmation for all refunds, I would like a confirmation that all of my personal and genetic information is permanently deleted from all of their systems. In short, this company is very flawedseemingly at every level.

CRI Genetics Test results were ABSOLUTELY off-base

Test results were ABSOLUTELY off-base. It said my wife was 51.5% European, when she has 3 generations of African American ancestors. Want a refund! I purchased this kit for my wife's birthday. Through their false advertising, I was led to believe their company was more reputable than the more prominent leading companies. I was also led to believe their product would be more accurate and give further insight. Apparently, it is their own marketing creating these "reviews" and "accolades" to make them look unbiased and look like the top rated DNA genetics tester. Wife's results were 51.5% European - apparently, she is half white...although both of her parents are black - unless scandal is afoot! My wife does not have any European family members in her direct line - which she knew/knows up to 3 generations personally. Went on YouTube to check out other's experiences, and we have the same Advanced Ancestry as the YouTube reviewers for this test. Apparently, we are ALL of Peruvian decent! Those who show their results all have the same countries, just different percentages (find proof attached). My wife strongly believes her test was mixed up with someone else. I feel horrible that I gave her this gift for her 45th birthday. And I look even worse that I've been duped by false advertising. I wish I found all of the complaints before purchasing this test. I would have never purchased it. I would have placed my money on 23andme. I would like a refund to right this wrong. She wanted to know more about her slave history, as her family is already documented up to the slave owners. She was hoping to gain insight beyond that point. I want to purchase a test from a trusted company that can be believed and is proven to be reliable and more accurate. I need to make this right. CRI Genetics Fraudulent reports provided to consumer with the promise of very high accuracy

Fraudulent reports provided to consumer with the promise of very high accuracy. I recently paid over *** USD to have my DNA analyzed. I am my families geneaologist and have been researching and compiling data for over 20 years. This company was touted to be the best out there for this service. Upon receiving my results back from CRI Genetics, I noted very distinct abnormalities with their data and how unplausable the results were as I have traced both sides of my families lineage back over 600 years. Being suspicious of this I started to Google the reviews of this company. I see that my results they passed off to me were nearly identical to others that CRI claims to have. The preliminary result they provide states I am 43% German. On the very next page it states that I am 28% Northern European (which is hugely broad, it encompasses 10 or so countries), then states I am 21% British Isles which again is hugely broad as it encompasses countries that are not part of UK. My mothers side of family were in the same region of Odessa,Ukraine for hundreds of years, if this test were correct, these results would have appeared. My fathers side had been in the British Isles for hundreds of years as well. These results are not highly accurate as they say. This whole test is an elaborate money making scam. The maternal Haplo test is a joke, the charge to see if you are related to anyone famous just tells you that you are part of a group they belonged to, not as they claim on website. This is how much I paid with details below: *** This company cannot continue to claim the service they provide is legitimate. This test claims I have Asian, East Indian, Italian, French and Spanish, There is 0% of those nationalities within 600 years of records. No mention of the 100+ years of relatives on both sides from North America. Absolute joke. Full refund expected

CRI Genetics I placed an order and realized I no longer needed the product

I placed an order and realized I no longer needed the product. I called and was told a refund would be issued, and it was only partially refunded. I placed a fairly large order in October (19-20) and a small order on December 30th. The December order (a kit and a year VIP membership) was an accident/website glitch. I emailed them (8 minutes later) asking for a refund. Hours later I received a response stating that they had already shipped the kit and could give me a 25% discount on the kit, and that I would receive a refund on the VIP membership. I called because that seemed to be a faster option. I stated I didn't want the kit, but the representative was insistent. I took the discount and said I'd call to get a refund if I didn't need the kit when it arrived. Before it arrived, I realized I didn't need any of the kits (another relative bought a similar item for Christmas, so I no longer needed any of them) and called to get a refund on all of them. The December order has been partially refunded. They marked both as refunded through ***, but (as you can see from the attached files) they only refunded part of it. For the October order, which was much bigger, I called (I believe on January 2nd) and explained that I no longer needed the products. I spoke with a gentleman that told me I would receive a refund (minus shipping). The call disconnected, so I called back and spoke to a woman that stated the same thing, and she told me it would be refunded in 2-3 business days. Five business days later, I received a $24.75 refund from the December order and nothing more. I called back and spoke to a woman (***). She assured me that the refund had been processed, and that it should be complete in 5-7 business days. The 19th was day 7. Now, 9 business days later, I've received a partial refund from the October order ($250) and nothing more. I've submitted the confirmation emails of all orders, the notification of refunds that have been issued, and the full email that *** sent breaking down the refund. Her email included an order number I don't have on file (***). I believe that may have been a mistake on her part. The costs she mentions in the email does not include shipping. I was told that I would not be refunded for that since items had already shipped. This included the item that I didn't want, but they insisted it had already shipped even though I contacted them 8 MINUTES AFTER the order was placed. In hopes of making it less confusing, I further broke down what has been refunded and what hasn't: Oct. 19 - ORDER WAS PLACED ONLINE Charged through *** REFUNDED JANUARY 14th Order ID: *** DNA Collection Kit + Health & Wellness Reports $250.06 NOT REFUNDED Order ID: *** DNA Collection Kit +Health & Wellness Reports $250.06 Order ID: *** DNA Y DNA analysis $81.29 Order ID: *** Haplo Analysis of Related Famous People $10.46 Oct. 20 - ORDER WAS PLACED OVER THE PHONE They charged the credit card on file NOT REFUNDED Order ID: *** DNA Collection mtDNA analysis $86.84 Order ID: *** DNA Haplo analysis $9.99 Oct. 21 - SEEMS TO BE A MISTAKENLY LISTED IN THE EMAIL Order ID: *** DNA Collection Kit + Health & Wellness Reports, DNA Collection mtDNA analysis, Famous People $229.23 Dec. 30 - ORDER ACCIDENTALLY PLACED ONLINE REFUNDED DECEMBER 31st Order ID: *** DNA New Reports & Research Insider Limited Special Yearly Subscription $103.70 PARTIALLY REFUNDED JANUARY 4th (refunded $24.75) Order ID: *** DNA Collection Kit + Health & Wellness Reports $104.22 None of these include the $10-15 shipping.

CRI Genetics Process of ordering/payment was sketchy

Process of ordering/payment was sketchy. Asked CRI 1 hr. later for refund. Only agreed to pay back half. Email sent by CRI was more telling of scam. Order ID: XXXXXXXXX Date: Thu Oct 29 19:31:32 *** 2020 Payment Type: Mastercard ***@gmail.com (XXX)XXX-XXXX After doing tons of research on which DNA test company I was going to buy a kit from, I decided on Cri Genetics based on: 1. More than one article read rating Cri Genetics #1 over 23andMe and Ancestry. Very long and detailed explanations as to why they were the best in the business. 2.Cri Genetics was a privately owned company and would NOT sell your DNA data to investors or pharmaceutical companies. 3.Cri Genetics produced more "accurate" and "detailed" results than its competitors. After deciding to go with Cri Genetics, I made plans to order the kit that evening, but only because there had been an ad on CG's website encouraging me to take advantage of the 50% off "Early Black Friday Sale," that just so happened to end TONIGHT @ 10 pm! (October 28.) The synchronicity felt real. My original plan had been to just do the research now, and then after Thanksgiving, wait for the deals and then make my purchase, but with CG's offer, I didn't have to wait a whole month for potential discounts and could go ahead and begin the process of learning about my ancestors. And then I got busy cooking dinner and time slipped away. I was sadly too late for the discount. The next day though, I went to CR's website, and to my surprise, the once before 50% off offer that ended on October 28, now said October 29. I should have stopped right there and listened to my gut, but instead passing it off as the same sort of *** I'm sure a lot of business do to sell or up sell, I was happy that the 50% discount was still being offered. On the other hand, even though I went through with the purchase, it was here I first started experiencing that something was off. I ordered: (1) DNA Collection Kit - Ancestry Analysis - Health & Wellness Reports -50%OFF - *** - (was *** and (1) *** Analysis of Related Famous People 50% OFF - *** After putting in my CC info and wanting my payment to be processed, I kept being told that I "wasn't done yet," (because I was being offered last minute discount opportunities on further services.) Being told things like, CR "only picks 1 out of every 100 customers for discount opportunities like these, and basically,"I'm lucky," so I should take advantage. I would hit "no" that I wasn't interested, thinking I could now complete my transaction, but then was told again, that I "wasn't done yet." That happened a total of 4-5 times. I finally bought the last offer; the Haplo for Famous people @ *** for fun. Thinking the website would eventually return me to an order summary, especially because I had added on services, I was instead immediately sent to a dead end window that thanked me and said my order was being processed, "But wait! What was my grand total? You never gave me a total after I added on a service!" I later received an email confirming the purchase of my Ancestry + Health kit- *** plus tax and shipping, but there was no mention of the *** add-on I purchased. "Did I not hit the button to purchase?" I asked myself. "I need to write them and let them know." As I was doing so, I received another email from CR confirming that I had indeed purchased the add-on. I let them know it was odd, and that both purchases should have been on the same order and via one transaction. An hour later after discovering over 400 complaints on Complaintsboard.com website; floored by all the complaints, I immediately wrote CR and asked for a refund. CR returns my email, and not only do they misspell my name, but the first couple of lines was a mix of incomplete sentences and incoherenceanother sign as I told them, that I did not trust them and wanted my money back. They have offered to return only half of my *** payment. I want a FULL refund immediately. It was my first purchase with my stimulus check. I'm really upset.

CRI Genetics I submitted DNA for several services from CRI totaling $246.24 on 03/09

I submitted DNA for several services from CRI totaling $246.24 on 03/09. My "results" are not possible & reports are contrary to each other. Fraud. Where to start. On 03/09 I ordered various DNA testing services. First, I never received any notice my reports were available. That's the least worrisome thing about this business. In total I paid $246.24 for the various reports available. One report said that 4 generations back of maternal analysis states with 99% certainty that a specific ancestor around 1900 was Peruvian. This is 99.9% inaccurate. My family kept very accurate records back 4-5 generations from all branches of my family. The person they are stating is Peruvian, was actually an ethnic German living in what is now France, but has been fought over and changed possession from France to Germany and vice versa, for which I have birth, death, and marriage records. I even know what cemetery in the Haut-Rhine, Alsace, France, and I've seen the actual graves. It's not just this "relative" that's not possible, other reports I paid for, state within the last 150 years or so, with near perfect certainty, I have ancestors that are Sri Lankan Tamil, Punjabi, Gujarati, Puerto Rican, and a lot of Peruvian's. Again, in genealogical study terms, 150 years is not a very long time ago. In concert with other DNA tests and supportive documents/records, such declarations not possible. During said time period, my 4th-5th generations ancestor's have been traced to Denmark, France, Ireland, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Germany, and Austria-Hungry. Also, several branches of my family tree that have been verified as French Canadian Acadians and soldier's from New York and Massachusetts who collected pensions for army service in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. I also had my mt.DNA analyzed to determine my maternal lineage's haplogroup because I had not previously had it sequenced. My report, which again, I paid extra for, claims that I belong to the Mt. DNA Haplogroup T2. However, another test I paid for was to provide information on famous or important figures of the past and present. There were two people listed as a result of this comparative analysis. For this report, it listed members of Peruvian / Latina haplogroup connections were not even close to being in the same haplogroup the reported I was in. I'm sure others have missed this because the information provided doesn't actually state said person's haplogroup, just that you "share" the same group. As someone who has actually studied population genetics, I knew the two people listed were confirmed by more reputable companies to be members of the A2 haplogroup, not my supposed T2 results. The closest common group is N, which developed appx. 70,000 years ago when migration out of Africa began. T developed in ancient Mesopotamia where has A developed in Asia and the America's via the Bering land bridge. They could have made an effort to make the reports even slightly possible by just picking a few "famous" people that have been verified as T2. They just seem to be perfectly fine with their blatant misinformation and contradictory "analysis". I recently discovered, that when researching to determine if this test was reputable, the sites that extolled the quality and preciseness of CRI were actually owned and reviewed by CRI through subsidiaries and shell corporations. This is a clear attempt by the executives of CRI to intentionally mislead potential and actual customers into believing this is a reputable company, with reputable analysis and reports. This is not the case. The site pressures customer's to buy additional analytical reports, however, no information or explanation is provided. Furthermore, unlike most reputable DNA companies, CRI will not provide you with the raw data figures that could be used by another company to verify their results. I wish I had investigated this company before I bought the kit. But I was fooled by their manipulative and covert attempts to deceive potential customers, and I ended up paying $246.24 for that fraud.

CRI Genetics Paid for a unique report of my ancestral DNA; received a report that looks like every other one I found

Paid for a unique report of my ancestral DNA; received a report that looks like every other one I found. Their "ancestors" don't match my family tree. I am very concerned about the accuracy of my DNA test results (*** # YFXXXXXX). Having done a considerable amount of genealogy research on my own into my family's history, I am very disappointed that my family tree does not match what I am seeing in my report that came from CRI Genetics. For instance, the "Advanced Timeline" in the report says that "5 generations back" someone in my family was *** someone "6 generations back" was "Iberian", and that another person "6 generations back" was "Southern Han Chinese". To date, I have tracked down everyone in my family tree up to six generations back, and have not found anyone from India, the Iberian region, nor China in my research. 5 and 6 generations back, everyone in my family (all 32 and 64 of them, respectively) lived in America, Germany, Ireland, or England. That is just my issue with the "Advanced Timeline" section. My issue with the "Advanced Analysis" section is that (while much harder to verify due to the vagueness of the information) the results are essentially identical to the results that have been posted by other customers, as well as being basically identical to CRI Genetics sample image. My map appears to be the same exactly the same as these maps (see attached images). It's simply not possible to have everyone's "Advanced Analysis" maps be identical! My report says that I am of European, South Asian, AdMixed American, East Asian, and African descent (in descending order). As I said, the information is rather vague and generic, so it is difficult to verify. My problem is that every other report I've looked at from other customers AND the company's own sample report has the exact same lineage. So essentially I paid *** to this company to receive a universal map that could apply to anyone (or possibly to no one). I also paid the additional *** for a report of famous people I might be related to. This portion of the report included names like Princess ***, the Ottoman Empire, Sir *** and *** In my own research, which has been extensive, I have found no such connections. And this portion of the report is very vague. I may belong to the same haplogroup as some of these individuals, but there is no indication as to what the relationship may be. Princess Diana could be a cousin 100th removed or 500th removed. There is no way to verify this. But it does concern me that I saw Princess Diana's name come up in other customer's "famous people" reports. That's possible, but what am I paying for if every customer has the remarkably similar results. Why not save everybody the trouble and simply send out a message saying, "Hey, everybody; we're all the same." I've attached pictures of my "Advanced Analysis" map and others with which to compare. Note that, other than the addition of a few pins in the African continent on my map and the addition of one pin on the North American continent on one of the other maps, everything else is exactly the same. I am very unsatisfied at this point and would like a full refund. I filed a complaint with customer service via email at *** The message I received back said: "I understand that you may be confused since your result did not match your records/knowledge about your ancestors. Please be informed that your record/knowledge may tell you the countries your ancestors lived in, your genetics can tell you which regions of the world your DNA comes from. Genetics can also help you discover unknown migrations or even your hidden ancestries. We recommend that you utilize both your Ancestral Background result and your knowledge about your Family History for you to have a better understanding of your heritage." I already have a working knowledge of much of my family heritage due to my own research, and it does not match up with what I received in my report from CRI Genetics. The responder also said, "I will close this email ticket." It's not resolved! My kit # is YFXXXXXX.
