unfair request for payment!
I received a book from this company. The invoice clearly states, "If you do not want this, SIMPLY use enclosed label, and send back, and you will not be billed". I received my third and "final" warning to send them the money, or return the book. I returned the book the day after I received it. I will be contacting a lawyer on this matter. I too tried to reach them by phone, and was put on hold, "due to a large amount of calls", and was not able to get through.
unwanted membership!
Creative Home Arts Club - www.creativehomeartsclub.com.
I just received a notice from this company saying I have a 24 month membership with them and that I owe $24.00 for it. I never applied for a membership but it says I owe this bill as of 11/07/07. There is nowhere on the letter (back or front) a website or phone number to contact them and have this settled. I checked for a website at yahoo, found one and went. At the bottom of the page I clicked on contact us and it said I had to be a member in order to access that part of the website. I have no way to contact them and hope they can not make my credit history look bad because of this scam.
I too am a life member and I haven't received any magazine or communication for years. In June 2012 I emailed the company, Creating Keepsakes, saying that I had a subscription for a magazine put out by their company, but somewhere along the line it was changed to "Creative Keepsakes Scrapbook Magazine." I asked how this happened as I did not do scrap-booking and had no interest in it. They responded with, "We simply felt a new form of the Club, and the Club magazine, was best for our members going forward. As you may have noticed over the past few years, the amount of content in each issue has been decreased. We could not sustain a healthy Club or good product for you with a printed magazine in that form. ...there are many magazines that have stopped delivering a printed magazine. We didn't want to do that, so we sought out the best partner to have another magazine delivered as part of your Club membership. That partner is Creative Crafts Group with one of their flagship magazines, Creating Keepsakes. We continue to operate all other aspects of the Club as you’ve known them. Your access to the various benefits, and the new magazine, are all part of the dues you've already paid. It won't cost you anything more. Aside from the new Club magazine you'll be getting, make sure to log onto the Club website as that is where the other Club benefits can be accessed, and how we can best communicate with all our members. www.creativehomeartsclub.com. I never received any further magazines. And, the website is no longer valid.
I too signed up for this nonsense in 2007. The bags that I received just remind me what a huge waste of money that was. Being an art teacher, I was looking for projects that I could use in the classroom...How many more people does this company have to rip off before someone does something. $336 would go a long way in my classroom...especially since I teach inner city kids. Geez...stealing from the kids. What an embarrassment!
I have a lifetime membership with this club, but I have not heard anything form them in a couple of years. I thought the club no longer existed, until I ran across the name on anther site.
I want to know why I spent hundreds of dollars for a club who told me they were no longer in business. WHERE ARE MY BENEFITS?

Twice I have spoken to the Customer Service people at Creative Home Arts Club and have told them I did not want a life membership. I have not received any magazines so assumed this was taken care of. However, I just received a letter from RMCB Collection Agency for $246.oo and a letter from Creative Home Arts for $18.00 for a one year subscription renewal.
I have attempted to reach RMCB with no success. Twice I called and was told by a recording to wait while they retrived by records - which I did for15 minutes each time -no real person or recording ever came back on the line.
What a sham - paid for full membership in June, 2007. With that big expense I received some frivolous and pretty junk and then nothing - don't fall for this bunch of yahoos. No magazines and nothing to back up the promises. I am now holding my original "Credentials - Portfolio, " and am ready to throw them out. What we learn as we travel through life, we need to share with others.
I have been a life time member since 1997 and have not received anything in years. I have moved and wanted to change my address (even though I have not received anything in at least 5 years) and even though I googled it, it seems to not even exist. What happened to my lifetime membership. It was to be MY lifetime and not THEIR lifetime. I payed money for basically nothing.
Sending me bills for membership that I never signed up for. No phone no web on bill only PO Box. Will have to write again to cancel got nothing from first cancellation.
Recieved invoice for membership for 12 months. i did not request this and do not want to pay. i feel this company is a scam.
First the club changed the magazine (2010) to a scrapbooking magazine that then ceased publication in 2013.
Second, the club website has not been updated since January 2010.
Third, the club has been taken over by some sports group called Scout. Scout has not updated the Creative Home Arts Club
Fourth, no one at the Club/Scout will respond to any phone, calls, emails or snail mail.
I am a Life Member and cannot access the Forums or other sections of the website. Some kind of "maintenance" was performed recently and now NOTHING works!
My main reason for becoming a Life Member was so I would not have to keep subscribing to a magazine. The literature sent with membership packet state "You will have a magazine for "YOUR" lifetime." I guess we have all become ghosts!
I'm getting collection notices for a membership I never signed up for.
harassment!
I joined Creative Home Arts Club in March 2005 through the mail. A payment for full year membership was paid at that time. I did not receive all magazine issues guaranteed to me for the year but could not contact them as they have no phone listing. At the end of the year I was sent a dues notice at that time I returned notice with written request to cancel membership, I was then sent notice from Creative Home Arts Club that payment was due immediately as my account was pending collections. To avoid any harm to my credit I paid dues with a second request to cancel membership immediately. I then did not receive any notice until Sept 2007 to again pay dues. I have canceled membership three times in writing and do not wish to be harassed or threatened with collections ( during year of 2006 I did not receive any magazine issues) After research of this company there is a long list of similar complaints. I am prepared to take legal action if necessary.
I paid for a life membership in 2009 and cannot log in. Member number [protected]. I want a refund immediately. I do not remember the exact amount paid. It was through the mail in installments. I no longer have that checking account nor do I live in Alabama. I tried to log in and see what was going on and was sent to your complaints page.
As far as I recall, I joined as a Life Member, but have no info how how much I paid. I have big holder on wheels that contains tons of various samples in it. All kinds of small kits and craft items . Possibly there is someone or group that could actually make use of it. I hate to just discard it.
I became a Lifetime Member when they first rolled it out, early 2000’s and paid over $300 to join and then nothing! No magazines, no products to test. There was no notice that this company went out of business! What happened to this place? Is there a class action lawsuit? I would like my money back!
Member number [protected] since 05/09. Can I get my membership fee back. When you pay for a lifetime membership you expect a lifetime membership.
I became a lifetime member in 2004 and recieved magazines until 2010. They went to scrapbooking entirely and then nothing. My address has changed and so has my email. I would like a refund, but I would also like to know what happened to the company and see them taken to court over it. Thank you for information. My email is crazygrammc@google.com
as others have stated I paid hundreds for a lifetime membership and then the mailings stopped. where did they go?
I also looking to see what's happened to the creative home arts club...haven't seen or heard anything since my payment for life membership...please respond...new address...

Looking at all the categories I believe you might have too many eggs in your basket...
I became a life member in August of 2005, but have received Nothing for ten years! Where did they go? I would appreciate a refund of my money! Dawna Cross, 117 Dudley Dr., Rockledge, DO 32955
they dont do anything they said, life member [protected] since 04/2009, just threw my money away I guess
I became a life member, PAID my membership, bought items from them, received a tote. what happened to the company. I never received all the incentives that they promised. I think all the people who were duped by this company should file a class action suit.

I too have a lifetime membership effective 05/2009
What happened to this company? Anyone know?
Today I am sending in my request for resignation from Creative Home Arts Club. I too sent in the initial payment for a 'membership'. To date I have received one magazine and was sent a book that I did not order and did not want. I sent the book back, and have received several invoices telling me that my payment for the book was overdue. I returned the invoices noting that I had returned the book. I recieved another invoice telling me that my account would go to 'collection' if I did not pay. In order too keep my good credit rating from being attacked, I paid for the book.
The original material did not mention anything about a 'book club' or a 'life time membership' and the extra costs for such. Had I known that this was a 'book club' I would never have joined as I know what book clubs are like that send unordered books and then will not remove charges when the books are sent back. This instance proves the rule all over again.
Before you join or send in any money, be sure to read ALL of the comments regarding this rip off.
I recieved a letter telling me a life time membership was $24.00 and when I sent it in they sent another letter saying that I needed to send $28.00 per month for 12 months to become a lifetime member! I also recieved a book and sent it back. If I have to keeppaying for the same thing I don't want it!
did anyone get the 100.00 coupon card and filled it out and mailed in the dollar for the free coupons? Its been 30 days now havent received nothing
I'm glad I googled this club. I'm kind of on the other side of things in that the club representative for the testers contacted me in regards to supplying products to be tested (We manufacture crafting supplies). If we gave them $3000 worth of product we could use the testers responses and they'll link to our website. Big deal! Funny thing about it was that I mentioned it to my wife. She thought the club sounded familiar and looked it up. She had signed up at one time and cancelled/didn't renew. She sent them two notices of cancellation and they sent her a letter that said, ""We're sorry to say this, but you've left us with no choice but to suspend all of your Club benefits. Payment for your membership in the Creative Home Arts Club is now more than three months overdue.". They even threatened a collection agency. They probably try and scare people into payment making people worry about collectors or their credit being affected. What a horrible tactic and scam. Crafters are the nicest people on earth and what a thing to do to take advantage of them. It's dirty money and I hope whoever is in charge gets what's coming to them for the grief they cause.
This whole club thing is a scam.
I also sent back a book, and still get "nastygrams" and phone calls for the money.
