Concern Regarding Recent Commentary About Nurses
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing in response to a recent segment in which it was stated or implied that women serial killers are often nurses and narcissistic.
As someone who has lived 65 years witnessing the work of nurses—as a patient, family member, and human being—I felt compelled to speak up.
Nurses, in my life experience, are God’s angels on earth. They are caregivers, advocates, comforters, and lifesavers. They work long hours under enormous stress, often putting the needs of others far ahead of their own. To broadly associate nurses with such harmful stereotypes is deeply unfair and dismissive of a profession built on compassion, ethics, and service.
While isolated criminal cases may exist in any field, they do not define the millions of nurses who dedicate their lives to healing. Words matter, and public commentary carries real weight—especially for a profession that has given so much, particularly in recent years.
I hope Court TV will consider the impact of such statements and strive for more balanced and responsible discussion in the future.
