I strongly recommend everyone avoid this site
I made a comment earlier but it didn't give me a chance to rate it. So Here it is - I wish I could give it zero.
They have my company info on this site. We don't want our info on sites like this. It harms our reputation. We have never requested it. The info they have is wrong and it upsets our customers if they stumble on that site and have wrong info. The company refuses to take responsibility, won't correct it, and tries to funnel us to yet another scammer site who is simply trying to mine our information.
I strongly recommend everyone avoid this site.
whitepages.com refuses to take responsibility for the outdated information they publish in their business listings
WhitePages.com refuses to take responsibility for the outdated information they publish in their business listings. For seven months, we have tried to get them to remove two listings for our business that have completely outdated information and to correct one listing that lists a phone number that is no longer in service. Their response every time has been that they simply republish information supplied by their information providers and that we need to contact the original sources of the information, which in our case are CityGrid and ExpressUpdate. In fact, we have contacted these information providers. They have been extremely cooperative and have been disseminating the correct data for months, yet WhitePages refuses to clean up the data on its own site, even though we have sent them the specific URLs of the incorrect listings. This is a serious problem because WhitePages is a major source of information to Google. We believe they may be the reason Google continues to publish an outdated phone number that is available almost nowhere else on the Internet. This has confused current and potential customers, and has done untold damage to our business. We have spent months trying to clean up the mess. Unless WhitePages starts taking responsibility for the false data they are propagating, they are exposing themselves to potential legal action. We recommend that you boycott WhitePages.com and use a more responsible online directory.
White pages suck every time I want a local phone number for a person they want me to do a back ground check and charge me! I just want a phone number if they don't have it leave it at that it is a total waste of your time.
What used to be free is now a monthly paid for option. Maybe not too bad if you have to look up a lot of people. BUT, the results they are now coming back with now are far from accurate - and it is public information, so it is not like they shouldn't be able to find it.
I have switched to anywho.com/whitepage, free and accurate.
I just needed a phone number of a friend. I googled in phone book for the city I needed. This website said "free", but they would not give the information unless I paid for one of their plans!
My dad passed away more than eight years ago. Just today I found his first name with my middle initial and an age that belongs to neither of us with my address. Obviously, there is no attempt to purge obsolete or incorrect entries. Even when you report the errors, they won't delete or change the incorrect entries.
information removal
Whitepages.com has a link to remove listings from their website but it seems to be a SCAM.
I found someone on their website that is listed using my address and phone number. The person DOES NOT live at my address. I went to their "remove listing" link where they require you to copy an image for the listing to be removed. The letters and numbers are so blurry you can hardly see them and they are case sensitive. I tried to use this link and entered the images 15 different times. Each time I would get a message in red stating that the images and characters I typed don't match.--try again. I went to their sponsored site 411.com and tried to remove the listing there. After 10 attempts I got the same error message on that site.
This seems to be intentionally set up so you can't remove errors or remove your entire listing. Customer support is no help--they give you instructions for listing removal that don't even work! I don't know where they get their information from on people's names and addresses . This is an invasion of privacy because they are publishing information about people who did not give their permission--especially if it is wrong information.
White Pages should be reported to whatever federal agency handles privacy rights. I would encourage others to check out White Pages and all of their affiliates to see if they have done the same thing to you and report them. Shame on White Pages!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Whitepages have illegally taken over $100 in less than a month. Unauthorized credit card charges doesn't fit the bill, far as I'm concerned. I'm in my 50's three years ago, i lost my sight & this is a dead end road .
Anxiety because unsure when they'll hit again and My SS Disability monthly is less than a grand. I potentially could end up homeless, or dead bc of these whatever they are crooks. Simply sad.
Thanks,
Crazy in Carolina
If they are taking money out of your bank account directly, you may want to contact your bank to let them know. If you gave Whitepages your bank account or card number , the bank may tell you that there is nothing that can be done. If that is the case, you may need to close that account, and open a new one. But if your SSI money goes into the same account that Whitepages is withdrawing from, then in this case you will have to contact SSI and give them your new bank account information. I know that may be an inconvenience, however, it will save you money in the longrun. Since they won't be able to continue taking out of your account again.
There has to be some kind of federal law regarding the false information that whitepages.com is putting out there for everyone to see. I will be checking on this and researching a class action lawsuit against whitepages.
I have had my information removed, but I have repeatedly found it reappear every couple of years, so it is never a one time deal. Like many of the other posts I too have relatives listed who are not related, I have phone numbers that are very old and long since re-allocated, crossing me with another person, and so once again I went to opt out. This time I got a message that the listing had been requested for opt-out too many times and I have to contact customer service. Has anyone ever heard of this? I think what needs to be done is we need a right to absolute privacy over who releases information people would otherwise need to get from a physical location. The internet laws are not caught up with the reality of life.
They posted about myself and my daughter. Im going to speak with an attorney tomarrow and check my options. There are online privacy laws in place for just these issues
Just found out that they are listing someone else as having the phone number that the Mrs and I have had for nearly 40 years - and I can't find a way to call them to get it fixed. They want me to contact them online so they have my email address - like I need more spam! I'm wondering if they are in collusion with Identity Theft spammers - because the persons who supposedly owns my number seems to only exist in whitepages.com - my internet searches for the person in their 20's who supposed own's my number come up blank, not 1 social media account... Go figure.
Requested on more than one occasion to OPT OUT of there reporting data base. Providing false information that falls under defamation of ones character plus providing data that does not comply with statue of limitation laws is a clear violation of an individuals privacy rights and said laws set forth.
My husband passed away nearly 3 years ago and is listed at our same address as before but with a person half his age whom we have never heard of and my name is not listed. We also have received a little mail for that person (just ads). How can I remove the stranger from our listings?
My information is being displayed again without my consent. I've tried to deleted and their system doesn't allow me. This is a nightmare since I'm being harassed by private calls numbers and am receiving nasty letters in my mail.
I have the same problem. They have a "suppression request" website but it does not work. They require a membership (not one time, monthly fee till the end of the time) to do anything with my information they display. This is a website from hell. They need a class action lawsuit.
My complaint is I never placed the old number on the whitepages that is showing as mine and supposedly is also my Uncle's number which is not the case. The old number of mine from St. George UT is: [protected] I left Utah behind me in 2008. Moved to Oklahoma for five years. and have moved twice since then. As I stated yesterday. I and my Uncle both Live in the Small town of Mesquite NV and have done so for the last four years. Our phone numbers which are completely separate and different have never been ONE number but two different numbers all together MY number has always been under my name and NO One else's. I now have a Voip number that is not listed with whitepages at all and it is a 480 number I have kept since living in AZ for one more year in 2013. My Uncle's phone line is a voip number and is under the state of NV and current time. Not Oklahoma or Utah in any way at all. We both Pay our bills separate from one another. My bills are in MY name only NOT that of my Uncle James.
I looked myself up a couple of days ago, whitepages.com has me living at my current address and an old address from 6 years ago. They also have a former phone number of mine listed under my name and my Uncle's name at the same time a number I had YEARS ago when I lived in Utah. and they have my Uncle listed as if he lives in Oklahoma when he and I both live in two separate homes in the small town of Mesquite, NV where he has a three bedroom home and I have a beautiful 996 square ft condo I have lived in now for the last four years.
stole my credit card
I went to whitepages.com to look for a friend's phone number and address. I ended up on their pay site. I entered my credit card and purchased the contact information for my buddy. I was fine paying for it. My credit card statement came and the charge was there from peoplesmart or something like that.
Now a month later I get my next credit card statement and there's an additional charge for about $40 on my credit card! Whitepages.com took my credit card, charged it and then charged it again without my consent.
This company is a fraud - my advice stay way, far away.
I paid for a search by phone # and got the wrong person, then got charged for a second search even though I didn't ask for one.
Jacek Puk, Beata Puk and Amanda Puk never ever lived in Sierra Madre, CA so remove wrong information. Your pages lies and are not secure so remove our profiles and don't lie - scam! Please remove all data about our family if you can't support a real information on your system!
I I got charged two I want a refon both I 😞 it.
I wanted the $9.99 option and white pages charged me the yearly rate. Now they won’t refund my money. This is a corrupt company with negative business practices.
I have used been verified in the past and they are a better option.
I paid a yearly service to get information about individuals (telephone or name). This is the basic service. Whitepages are trying to charge me for telephone information when I submit names. I don't have to pay to get someone's address at all. So this doesn't seem right. It is trying to charge me for tel. information every time I sign in.
I would like a refund of the amount you billed today Monday 12/26/2022It was not suppose to be $129.99! It was suppose to be $9.99 ONLY!
I would never use your website again, ripping off honest people and taking their hard earn money, call me if you got one honest person who works their, Neil Nottingham, 936 Carson Street, Barstow CA. nnottinghamdcn@gmial.com to get all the details?
I have found ALL my pertinent private info that identifies who I am on your website. I would like my info removed completely from your website.. My personal data was used a couple of times before, and I had to work really hard to go through the process of restoring my credit and proof of identity.
My mobile phone numbers are associated with people listed in white pages.com who don’t have my phones and results in multiple people contacting me about people I do not know.
How can I stop this?
same here $19.99 every day sometimes four times in one day

They have also published incorrect information about me and other family members. I asked them about a year ago to delete the incorrect entries. They have not done so. They claim that you have control over what is published about you. Not true. You can only make very restricted edits, and even to do that, you have to give them your email address, which they will probably sell to someone who wants to spam you. If someone wants to start a class action suit, I would be happy to testify against them.
