Wells Fargo Bank / 7 month ordeal

1 OR, United States Review updated:

Unbelievable incompetance and lack of basic human descency. In Setpember of last year I made a payment over the phone. I have had this account for several years, never late. I had changed my bank account the payment would come out of. I gave the Wells Fargo employee the new account info but he submitted the payment through my closed account. It was of course returned. I get a letter telling me to rectify the situation by a certain date or they would increase my interest rate. I called immediately, they already increased my interest rate of 11.75% to 19%, the letter lied. So a very nice lady reversed the late fee and the bounced check fee and gave me her word that she would get the interst rate reversed.
The next month I get the statement, the interest rate has not been corrected. I call. I am promised it will be fixed.
The next month...
The next month...
The next month I speak to a supervisor, we'll fix that he says...
The next month...
And than again...
Guess what?...

Now it's April of 2009. The Supervisor did not do what he promised and now there is a new Supervisor. I find this out when The old supervisor does not return my call. He still had a voicemail and I believe it is still his. He still works there. Anyway I call the nice lady, she hooks me up with her new Supervisor, who does not return my several calls. I call her a couple more times as the supervisor will not call me back. Still no call and now the nice lady has vanished. Her extension has been changed and when I call she is "unavialble", and she no longer has a voicemail. The newest customer service (that's a joke) person says that the new supervisor called me and I hung up on him?????? Apparently there's a notation in the computer. Absurd and an out and out lie.

And until now, I remained calm and respectful and patient.

I am also a victim of Wells Fargo customer service. I asked them to close an acct I cosigned for son I could pay on it without my son using it again. They called me 3-5x qd and acted like my request was just a cop out not to pay .
I was treated very rudely like I was a [censor], threatened with legal fees.
I sent them 3 letters which they have online and talked to them 5x.They did not bother to tell me the acct was closed until I told them I was going to file a complaint against them . It took almost 4 mos ? I think they train people to be stupid and rude so that they can get away with costly errors on their part. They earned 300.00 in interest by witholding that information . Most people dont know how to complain. My complaint already cost them about 150.00.
