Thank goodness that my bank is working to get my money back but this needs to be stopped now! If i can google this and a bunch of complaints come up this should have been taken care of already! It shouldnt take this many people to get fruded by this same thing for something to be done i mean come on we are suppose to protect people not sit around and watch a while!

A friend of mine was booking four rooms at a travelodge in Bath so that we could go to bath for the weeknd to have a spa weekend to celebrate our mothers birthdays. She selected what she wanted on their website and it came up with the total price for the four rooms and it was showing them all avalible so she clicked on the pay button. then next screen she had come up said it had taken the money for one room so she pressed cancel as this was wrong it was ment to be four rooms. It then told her the other three rooms weren't avalible so its just taken payment for one room.

we are so upset about this because they should not have taken the payment for the one room before teling us we couldnt have the four that we asked for. One room was no good to us and it was the websites misstake but they refuse to refund her money.

They made her believe she could have the four rooms then took the money for one without telling her.

Its false advertising and they have stolen her money.

we have reported it to citizens advise and waiting to hear back.

any advise welcome.

Upon entering the first room I was assigned, I first noticed the safety lock
was torn off the door frame, followed by a grapefruit sized hole in one
window, the bed sitting on the floor, the smoke detector hanging off the
wall and the phone in pieces.

I then was given a "deluxe" room. Better than the first in that it didn't
have broken windows, etc. When I went to sleep that night there was no
blanket on the bed and when I called the desk I was told we don't put
blankets on every bed. I was also given only one towel (no wash cloths,
hand towels, etc.) and was told we are full and don't give everyone towels.
The bed also kept falling out of the frame.

Several staff members and the repair guy were in and out of my room.

The next day I called Travelodge customer service and filed a complaint. I
was told they would fax the property and attempt a resolution.

That night at about 3:00 am while sleeping in the bedroom area I was awoken
by the sound of the front door closing. I ran out and saw my laptop
computer and some cash were missing (I had set the deadbolt and put the
chain on). The chain was torn away from the frame. I called the front desk
and was told I was the only one with the key and what did I want them to do
about it. I said to call the police.

The officer determined that there was no forcible entry and that someone
with a key card had entered the room. The police were not able to get in
contact with the manager.

I checked out in the morning. The person at the front desk was able to get
in touch with the manager. He didn't want to speak with me and when I
insisted he told me it was impossible, etc. and more or less accused me of
lying. He told me he would speak with his staff and would get back to me in
a few days. I have left numerous messages and sent a fax and have yet to
hear from the him after 3 weeks.

Worse yet, I received a letter from Travelodge Corporate that basically says
these are independent owners and all that corporate does is license the
name. There are no operating standards and the property is solely
responsible. I phoned the President's office and was told that by their
franchise agreements they do not get involved.

For the past year I have been a guest at the Travelodge for one to two week increments. Each day I have been charged 110$ and pay cash. This is for two rooms and the pet fee for two small dogs.

Recently I ran into a guest here at the Travelodge who advised me of a travel web site offering great deals. I went onto the site and found that I saved over 50$ by booking two days through them.

Upon finding out I went online to reserve my next two days stay, The manager was very upset.

She told us we would have to put a 100$ cash deposit or let her authorize our credit card for 100$ per room for incidentals (we have never been asked to do this during any of our previous stays, and the guest staying here who booked at the same site was not asked to do this).

So to avoid this (sudden) cash deposit requirement, she said we can "just pay her in cash, the difference between what the rate was that I got via the booking site and what I usually pay her daily."

On three different occasions she claimed she canceled our reservation, however when speaking with the booking site they stated our reservation had not been canceled.

In addition, she told me I "knew better" then to book online. At that point she said we had to pack up and leave. (we have been staying here for the past week paying cash daily so had a room already). I told her no, it states on the booking site that once I book a room, it is confirmed and guaranteed immediately.

She said no, that is not true.

I stayed at the London Travelodge for 6 days on business and i wasnt very happy at all, first no car park space available then when i got to the room it was small with no bath and when i had a shower dirty water came out. This for £80 a night is not good enough,

Heres the address

Travelodge London Kings Cross Hotel

Willings House 356-364
Grays Inn Road
Kings Cross
London
WC1X 8BH

Guys dont waste your money staying here its not worth £20 a night and also a long way from the west end

I made reservations at this Motel and even though I am cancelling a "year" in advance, they pretty much told me I am out of the $500+ that I spent on the room reservations. I have never heard of ANY Motel that did not have some kind of a refund policy, mostly when this room was booked for the Americade weekend when ALL motels are fulled to capacity. There is no way that they won't be able to re-book these rooms. We have spent a ton of time on the phone trying to talk to these people and their attitude is "too bad." That kind of money might not be much to some people, but for us it is MAJOR. Then to have to deal with a ho-hum attitude by the motel is very frustrating. I have called the Chamber of Commerce which can't do anything because the Travelodge is not a member of the Chamber...so I am filing papers with the Attorney General's Office. I have booked Motels for years and years and have NEVER had this kind of service from any Motel!

I was a victim of terrible rudeness and disrespect as well as a large number of other victims. Amazed and still appalled of having the worst experience of my life with the manager of this location!I was refused service after paying my reservation thru expedia only because I asked why he was asking for my ID and credit card while I was handing it to him he threatened to call the police . I told him I was not refusing and that I showed him what he was asking for and that all I wanted was my room I had already paid, he replied NO he didn't have to answer my question and to get the hell out of his property. Tried calling thru my cel phone expedia to e what solution we could work out and he turned the volume on the radio so I couldn't hear, asked him to please lower the volume ignored us, asked him again and he went crazy, shouting bad words to us and calling the police on us! Boycott people and places like this shouldn't be providing "service" to nobody. How does a National chain like Travelodge and Wyndham allow this kind of service and extreme rudeness!

The problem is not enough people do complain, you have to keep complaining to trading standards and not the company if they dont do anything. Hope you get your money back tho.
