I am actually writing this on behalf of my new fiance who had a horrible experience purchasing a ring at the jewelry factory/exchange. He had gone there after seeing commercials stating high quality and low factory direct prices. Like most men, it was the first piece of jewelry he was buying and he didn't know much about the process. He picked out the stone and ring setting, and paid in full. They informed him it will go out to be set and sized in a few days and be back in 2 weeks.
He had felt a little funny about the purchase and while he was at the mall the next day, stopped at another jeweler (Kay) just to talk to someone about engagement rings to ensure his purchase was a good one. He found out they should have showed him the diamond under a microscope and did not. And there were a number of other things they should have done that made him very skeptical about his purchase. He ended up buying the ring at Kay instead and figured he can just cancel his other order.
So the very next day after ordering, he called and asked about the ring, they told him its there...nothing has been done with it, so he said thats great because I would like to cancel the order. They then as they were laughing told him ok we will cancel it, but we dont do refunds for any reason, so you can come pick it up in pieces if you want. (yeah they said that)
When he bought the ring the man told him no returns, which was fine however he had never even received the ring yet. And they do have a no refund policy upon further investigation, but this is ridiculous and unfair to consumers and should not be allowed. They don't care about serving their customers, they only care that they have your money...then they are done with you whether you are happy or not.
Searching the Internet, I see thousands of stories of people being ripped off by the jewelry exchange. My fiance is now stuck paying for a ring he doesn't even have.
This is very frustrating for us, being a young couple just starting out in life things are hard enough, and this company is making it even harder. We don't have a lot of money to even be able to afford having any type of wedding let alone pay for 2 rings. Please don't make the mistake of going here!

I have purchased at the Jewelry Factory and knew there were no cash refunds because I asked up front but after reading this complaint I was curious about the receipt and no refunds not being on the receipt; so I got my receipt out from the tennis bracelet I bought my wife but yep...here it is.. right on the front of the receipt where you sign and again on the credit card draft "NO REFUNDS". I find it pretty incredible that "jamesisajeweler" was so quick to make a judgement on a second hand story, she admits shes writing it on her fiance's behalf so she didn't know what was posted or not; had he done his homework he would have found about a dozen negative reviews on this place that range over a 10 year span and not the thousands she claims. I even found an article about this place where they did 130 million last year in sales; to me a dozen negative reviews is nothing. In my business we can't please everyone, or overcome every objection to our own policies ( if the tag is removed you cannot get a refund)but we do teach our sales staff to never talk bad about the competition, it just makes us look bad.

Take a photo of the front counter area to show the proper authorities that this jewelry store HAS NOT POSTED A "NO REFUNDS POLICY" IN THEIR JEWELRY STORE ANYWHERE. Doing this will help you greatly when you file your complaint against the jewelry store.

CORRECTION: I wanted to say to you if your fiance has a receipt that does not have "NO REFUNDS" PRINTED ON IT, NOR IF THE JEWELRY STORE HAS A "NO REFUND POLICY POSTED IN PLAIN VIEW" IN THEIR JEWELRY STORE, THEY CANNOT LEGALLY NOR VERBALLY IMPOSE THIS NO REFUND POLICY ON YOUR FIANCE.

Let me give you some REALLY GOOD ADVICE AS WELL, IF YOU CAN GO TAKE A PHOTO OF THE FRONT COUNTER AREA OF THE JEWELRY STORE TO SHOW THAT THERE'S POSTING OF A "NO REFUND POLICY" THERE. THEN YOU CAN SHOW THE PROPER AUTHORITIES THAT YOU ARE NOT LYING ABOUT THIS JEWELRY STORE.
