Spa Lady Membership

I've received a very poor customer service from when I tried to call and try to figure out my membership since I was misinformed by Simone at transcanada about how to cancel my membership so I thought calling customer service would solve the issue but it was the worst customer experience ever, I've been a member for over 4 years I pay for a membership I barley use which is my fault but eeays when I called I got yelled it by one of the employees I think his name was Shawn and ask he hung up the phone on me, very very disappointed, I work in retail and I've been telling my story to every customer I've helped since yesterday hopefully everyone realizes how s###ty they are and stop signing up with them worst gym ever

Spa Lady Membership, contract

I signed up for a year long membership with spa lady in October of 2015 where I am to pay $19 bi-weekly. Unfortunately being a university student I was no longer able to afford this, nor was I able to afford the $180 cancelation fee that I was not informed about upon my registration (I was told by the lady working there that if anything happened I would have the chance to cancel my registration with no fee, which incredibly irritated me as I had obviously been lied to). However I talked to someone from their head management about my current financial business and they kindly offered to provide me with 2 months free as of now in order to give me time to figure my finances out. Spa lady does have a unbinding contract unfortunately but if you are willing to talk to head management they are sympathetic and willing to help you out in any way they can.

I have the same problem. I signed up for myself and my daughter and now I need to cancel it as it is not a good time for us to pay all the expenses and they are asking for $200 cancellation fee for each of us :( they didn't mention this at all. I was under the impression that I can cancel within 30 days and that is all... so much misinformation. customer services is really bad. I am glad I didn't refer my friends to this

Spa Lady Membership, customer service

I have been deceived by Spa Lady which belongs to International Fitness Holding. I have been told that when I sing a contract and I have to fly back, there will be no fee for cancelation of membership, that the only thing I have to do is to provide plane tickets as a prove.

Unfortunately I have to permanently leave Canada on July 16. I called Spa Lady to let them know about the situation. At this point I found out that I have to pay more than $180 cancelation fee even though I have been told something the opposite.

I simply didn't double check words of staff of Spa Lady. I had no idea that being deceived by company representative, in one of the branches might happen. Moreover International Fitness Holding has very poor client service, staff is very unpleasant and nobody wants to take a responsible now. I would even say they are shameless, interrupt you while talking.

Moreover, I stopped coming to the gym several months ago. The reason is they cannot provide proper care in Spa Lady Kids, my child cries every time I try to leave her there and she is not the only one. I meet some other moms with the same issue.

I would like to get all my money back. I signed the contract in March 2012 for 3 years. Meantime I got pregnant and had to stop going to the gym for 9months or so. I had to provide a medical statement and the postponed my membership. Therefore my contract expires in October 2016.

I cannot believe there are so many people complaining about them and it's still happening.

Spa Lady poor service & terrible cancellation process

I moved to BC from Calgary a year ago and have been trying to cancel my gym membership at Spa Lady since I left. Each month this bill me $30 for a membership I haven't used in over 12 months. I tried to cancel my membership at my gym (TransCanada Mall location) before I left Calgary and the girls at the front told me they couldn't help me - that I "need to go online and contact the head office". They were so indifferent and truly under trained because they couldn't explain the process of cancellation or my options. I moved, joined a new gym in BC and mailed in my cancellation request (my computer/scanner wasn't set up so mail was my best option). Life got busy and I assumed my request was received. 3 months ago I saw that I was still being charged by Spa Lady and I faxed head office (International Fitness Holdings) a letter explaining that I had already sent in my cancellation request and I also included proof that I was a member at a BC gym. Today I called to follow up ONCE AGAIN because IM STILL BEING CHARGED and a senior customer service agent named Shawn told me that they received my fax but there's nothing they can do for me and that they can't help me. I had to pay another $150 to cancel a membership that I have been trying to cancel for a year! Spa Lady promises a high level of customer service, but they have failed, since they have such a disconnect from their own head office. ANY GOOD GYM would help customers cancel at the club location - instead I was sent to deal with a head office that doesn't care to hear what the customer is saying. IM VERY UPSET with the poor customer service and the general disregard for making the cancellation process simple and clear. OH and they're toll free number only works within Alberta - thanks for nothing SPA LADY & International Fitness Holdings.

Spa Lady Will not accept lifetime patrons

Many years ago 1984 my sister and I signed up at Spa Lady fitness club. We were regular clients. We paid our fee for 2 years and got a year free. Then they had a promotion that if you signed up 3 more people in a month you received a lifetime membership. Both my sister and I did this and received a card that said lifetime member. After a few years we had stopped going because we had moved and it wasn't so convenient for us. We did try to go workout a few years ago and they had a password system that we were not aware of and they turned us away even though we had our cards with us. Recently I was in a mall and they trued to sign me up. I explained I was a lifetime member but I couldn't use the facilities. One of the employees said she would look into it. She called me later that day and said because the company had changed owners that they could not honor it. They may have changed owners but the company still has the same name and provides the same service. I think this is a very poor decision on behalf of this company especially when we brought in more client's for the company. Also it appears that there is no head office to send my complaint to. The website refers you to contact your local Spa Lady in your area, which I did and you already know the response I was given. I would like to take this matter further but don't know who to contact. Would you be able to assist?

Spa Lady Membership

I signed an agreement and have to move out of province due to a family emergency. With no affiliates even close to where I am moving they said I have to pay a cancellation fee. Although I would continue to use their services if there was an affiliate nearby. I also won't be able to get a stop payment until I have two pieces of proof that I have moved?! So I have to pay for a membership while I am not there until my first bills come?! And then pay again to cancel. Spa Lady is definitely not in the business of customer service or treating people right when they have been long-time customers. I DO NOT recommend ever using their gyms.

Spa Lady Poor Customer Service

here we go...first and most important International Fitness Holdings has a lack of honesty, a complete lack of how members should be treated and the low customer service provided by the head office (International Fitness holdings). I had signed up for a year to pay 29.00 a month, which is cheap, gave them sign up money and a VOID cheque. 5 Months later I received a notice that is I didn't pay the whole amount of the year contract I would be sent to collections claiming that I had not made a payment. OK so I checked and sure enough they had not been debiting my account, I am pretty trusting and did not think to check my account - I will not do that again!) so we called, I am not sure who I spoke with but his English was not very good and he told me that my cheque had bounced or was not able to go through my account...funny a 29 dollar fee should not have been a problem. I checked and this had not in fact happened according to the bank. When I called him on it, he said oh that in fact some people do not have the ability to put in stuff correctly and that my VOID cheque had never been attached to the account and it was sitting in the file. They really had a hard time explaining why this had happened and were extremely unhelpful. I said I would send them a cheque for the amount and that I was extremely upset. Why had no one called me ater a month or two? or three? or four? When I said for them to transfer me, I had finished talking to them and had resolved with them that I was sending them money. I asked to be transferred to Member services and was told after a wait that Member Services would not talk to me, I said that is ridiculus (not even sure he asked?) I said this has nothing to do with collections and all I wanted to do was talk to Member services because I wanted to do was ask them who I can send a complaint to about this situation and was told they wont speak to me, nice customer service...so all you have to talk to is a random guy is customer service who wont give out anyones name email anything to customer service mananger or even his department supervisor, its him or too bad...again nice customer service. OK just learned that they put in wrong account and took my fees out of some poor unsuspecting person account...still they send me a letter threatening connections, where was the phone call to me? This is horrible...imagine what that person went through, Buyer beware, these place are schemers...go reutable like the Y or City of Calgary's Leisure Centres I will next time. BEWARE places like Spa Lady, World Health or anyone affiliated or similar to them!

Spa Lady Contract

I signed a one year membership. Every month after I seen that spa lady was deducting money from me and I thought it was from getting my nails done. I did not get my nails do e this month and see there was still a charge. I call there and told the staff and they said I signed a contract for one year but after that period it goes month to month. NEVER DID THEY EVER INFORM ME OF THIS! I have been paying them for about two years! The worker that took my call acted like i knew about this. I WILL get my money back.

Spa Lady Contract ABUSE

I am writing on behalf of my friend Stephanie Garcia, who enrolled at Spa Lady a year ago. She signed a 3 year contract. She was not aware of the personal training closure which would make it difficult for her to cancel her contract later. She was living in Edmonton as a temporary resident due to her husband's work visa. They received a letter from immigration that stated they had to leave Canada and re-apply for their work permit from their home country. She asked me to help her call to see if she could cancel her membership, we called international fitness holdings and we were made aware that the cancellation fee was $150.00 which she did not have a problem with; but then the lady mentioned that Stephanie had also signed a personal trainer contract and that in order to cancel that it would be an additional $500.00. Stephanie explained to me that when she signed up at spa lady she never knew about any additional personal trainer, in fact Stephanie barely speaks English -hence why she has asked me to write to you regarding this situation- The lady on the phone, believe her name was Carrie?, suggested we contact the manager of the gym where Stephanie signed up and explain to her the situation to see if she could waive the fees because the personal trainer fee had nothing to do with International Fitness Holdings. I called the Heritage location and asked to speak to the manager, I explained to her Stephanie's situation and even asked if instead of cancelling we could put the payments on hold until she comes back because she only had to leave for a month or two. The manager became very rude and actually hung up the phone on me. This is no way to treat clients, especially when it is a manager acting this way. I went over to the Heritage branch in person and got her name, Jenneke DelCol. I suggest this lady takes more customer service training because she definitely did not deal with this issue in a professional manner. Stephanie cannot speak English, she does not hold a job in Canada and has been attending English lessons. We can provide proof of her English level from her English instructors. The contract she signed was vitiated consent and she was not fully aware of what she was signing. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

My daughter had the same problem with the same lady Jennike Del Col. My husband wanted to know why spa lady discount certain quantity of money from his credit card when my daughter was not able to go to continue her training in Spa Lady. I did not understand either. He called spa Lady and the receptionist pasted the phone call to the sales manager or fitness consultant, Jennike del Col... 1- We could not understand her attitude about the situation, very arrogant, and rude. My husband was really angry. I decide to call again, try to explain the situation, but was the same attitude from this lady. She missed lots of information. She told me my daughter does not have the membership ( was not true the membership end in 2017), she tried to push us to cancelled our membership ( I have one too), this situation was completely disappointing and frustrating coming from a place that I considered nice, and where you want to have fun. In conclusion, I decided to go to the Spa Lady in Northgate and try to find correct information and try to understand what happened. Northgate was completely different, any piece of information was clear, the person who explained me the situation was really great. I was in shock why a person with this kind of work, where she has to treat people with different kind of health or feeling has to be arrogant, and rude. In my opinion, she has to take an extra course about customer service, the Spa Lady in West Edmonton mall with this kind of worker really is doing bad. So sad for others workers ant trainers in the place because the majority of them are really professional and great.

Jenneke is awful she's racist and stuck up, so no wonder there was no understanding from her. I completely agree with you and Spaladysupport's comments just reflect the kind of arrogant service this gym provides. How dare they talk about ethics, THAT'S NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Interesting as we all know there are always two sides to a story and somewhere in between lies the truth. Spalady has a verification process which ensures that even after signing a contract the member verifies that the individual clearly understands the cancellation process. As well the member is asked to initial where it states with personal training that there are no refunds with personal training. Isn't it interesting that while busy judging others skeletons will fall out our your own closet.

Spa Lady Contract non-compliance

After Spa Lady was purchased by International Fitness Holdings in December 2009, all those with a 'Lifetime Membership' were left with a meaningless piece of paper which used to signify a contract with Spa Lady permitting the card-holder life-time access to any of Spa Lady's gyms. International Fitness Holdings has decided NOT to acknowledge these contracts and instead will offer us 'lifetimers' a really good deal on contract memberships. What would happen if I were to sign a contract with this organization and decide not to honour their contract rules? Maybe I could counter-offer them a really good deal on my payment suggestions? I want this new company held accountable. If you are purchasing an existing company, don't you have to honour the contracts it has already made? If you don't want to, then just buy out the company's assets and absorb them into your own and be done with it.

Permanent memberships should mean forever...until the person dies. It is absolutely unjust treatment to the lifetime members who were shocked to discover that the rules were suddenly changed. Of course, in the end it all amounts to pure greed There would be lots of women out there who would probably be eager to start a class action lawsuit against these greedy manipulating $#@%^&*).

I was disappointed to read the sale was "assets" only and the owners are still involved with the company. To pick and choose from the membership category seems wrong, why not exclude women with brown eyes or a certain weight? It should be considered one asset not dissected for the companies personal benefit. I was also informed I would have to purchase another membership at the same rate and someone walking in, talk about rewarding loyal customers. It made my decision to choose a new gym easy. I did wonder if "we / lifetimers" had grounds for a class action lawsuit?

Spa Lady Theft

"Spa Lady Fitness Club Rob Customers" At Spa Lady fitness club you can cancel your membership by sending them an e-mail with a 30 day notice. Unfortunately this unprofessional place do not read your e-mail, only look at the name on e-mail address and decline your request. Never inform customers that there request been denied and keep charging you for membership. Isn't it another way to rob customers?

Having same problem! Been charged for half a year now and will not stop billing me! Put stop payment on it and they keep forcing it through the bank under few different company names!

Spa Lady Contract terms

When you deal with this company the old adage "Buyer beware" really applies. My wife signed with this company and believed that she had purchased a one year contract but just recently found out that it was for two years.

The option packages were confusing and with the different terms offered she ended up confused. Her fault... yes but when I called knowing what had happened already I ended up confused as well.

Hi my name is seema my barcode I'd is [protected].when I joined spa lady they didn't mention they have a cancellation fees.i filled membership cancellation form because I didn't have job.they keep collecting money from my account.roxdanne is the manager when I try to talk with her she always rude with me
