How responsive is Priceline.com's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Priceline.com handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Priceline.com and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Priceline.com car rental

I rented a car near Lake Tahoe. Got to the rental place and my reservation was slated for the next day. I cancelled my request. A couple weeks later, I was billed for the cancelled car. I wrote to AMX to have the charge deleted.
AMX deleted the charge. Priceline fought back and AMX re-charged me. Priceline is an unethical, lying enterprise... Very similar to the current state of affairs in D.C. Do not use Priceline... for ANY reason.

Priceline.com hotel

I booked a room at a hotel in England. There were many options and I booked the "Family room" instead of the Double room because I have children. After I booked, I received an email from Priceline that it is only valid for two adults and the hotel may charge me for more people upon arrival! I contacted Priceline via the live chat and was told there was nothing they can do and when I said I was going to file a complaint. They said suit yourself and hung up on me!

Priceline.com hotel reservation - price match

I booked 2 rooms using priceline express deals for the dates 8th Apr 2018 till 10th Apr 2018 on April, 2 2018 around 8p.m. EST. but once the resort name was revealed I realized that the rooms offered are much cheaper on the other website. I contacted priceline chat agent and shared the details as well as I called customer care number and shared my details.

They refused to do price match as they are not able to find it but I was able to find the same deal on the same site.

After spending 2 hours in follow ups over chat and call, priceline agent did not believe my prices but, "in other way round I have to believe them when they say that they are not able to find the same price" which i my mind either proved me a liar or the process of finding price on their end is unethical .

Either priceline should remove the price match policy or they should honor when a customer is sending details about price match.

Please find attached the prices that I found which priceline agents were not able to find it.

Priceline.com travelweb

I unknowingly booked a hotel room at the Radisson in Fargo, ND. through Travelweb. Reservation # Q05XDM9. I was charged immediately for the room ($649.15) and a booking fee ($7.99) and was not given a credit even though I cancelled this room on March 12, 2018, far before the cancellation date of April 23, 2018, by 4:00 p.m. Cancellation # C5247979.

I've called the following numbers: [protected], [protected] - they just instantly play music. I called another number I found on the Internet which only rings and never answered. Likewise an email to the Internet address was bounced back undeliverable.

The way you deceived me into booking through was criminal to say the least. I want a full refund of the money I spent on this room immediately.

Priceline.com hotel reservations

I booked a hotel through Priceline's website on 3/16/18. Unfortunately I needed to cancel this due to a death in my immediate family on 3/18/18, well before their stated timeline for cancelations. I have tried repeatedly for three days to cancel. I spoke to the hotel manager, Michelle, at The Shiloh Inn in Mammoth Lakes, CA who did inform me she spoke to Priceline and was told it was their discretion to cancel and reverse the charges. Priceline lied to me and told me it was the manager of the hotel who refused. I have spoken to a supposed supervisor at Priceline, Oreo, who in turn transferred me to her supervisor, Riley (refused last name). This person stated she was told the manager of the hotel requested a birth certificate for my deceased sister (she was 60!) before they would cancel the reservation. I have never encountered a more insensitive, unfeeling, crass group of employees in my life! The manager of the hotel was kind but told me it was at PRICELINE'S discretion to cancel and needed to hear it from them. Do not ever use any priceline contracted vender, establishment, car rental, travel facilities. They are horrible people to deal with. Please please please, spread the word about them! I want my credit card refunded the charges and an apology from the rude personnel.

counter clerk was insistent that I purchase additional insurance even though I repeatedly refused. Then she told me it was an additional $15 per day to include my wife as a driver. Additionally, when I told her I wanted the return full gas option she wanted to debate whether I purchase 1/4 1/2 or full tank. I told her to cancel reservation and took an Uber from airport to Enterprise rental.

Priceline.com hotel booking misrepresentation

I booked a hotel room using Priceline's booking feature where you agree to pay a certain amount in the general area of where you are wanting to stay. The twist is they don't tell you which hotel you are going to get until you book the reservation, only that it would be at least 4.5 star. As it turns out the hotel was only a 3.7 star. Big difference in quality for sure and obviously a misrepresentation of the hotel offered. The facts are as follows:
- Agreed to pay $204/night plus taxes for 4.5 star hotel in Miami Beach (South Beach area) for 3 nights
- Book the room and then found out it was the Royal Palm
- Upon arrival at Royal Beach Hotel was told buy the Hotel Staff that the hotel was only 3.7 star

Priceline.com name your own price tool

Hello. I just booked a car rental through the Priceline site for the first time. reservation [protected]. Prior to booking, I searched - and found - instructions on the Priceline site about how to 'Name My Own Price' - I have since taken screen shots of the pages on the site, as proof it was live when I was looking.
As it was my first time booking, I couldn't figure out how to use that tool, so thought I had to select a car that had the red '40%' notice on it - book it, then the 'Name My Price' button would pop up.
It did not - so I contacted 'Gwen' on the live chat.
Gwen told me this tool no longer existed - and when I asked to cancel my booking as it was falsely advertised on the Priceline site - she told me 'policy' and how the reservation was not able to be canceled - and how I 'agreed to the terms' -
I pointed out again - that I followed the instructions ON THE PRICELINE site - and how I (and I'm assuming others' are under the impression this is an active tool... but Gwen simply thanked me for bringing it to her attention - that it was still noted on the website - and said they were 'actively looking' to remove this.
I took a snap shot of her also admitting the verbiage is still live on the website - therefore, agreeing that I did see the instructions on the Priceline site.

I am quite irritated - and am looking to cancel my reservation based on false advertising on the Priceline site.

I would like to have someone call me - to ensure this is being cancelled - or I will be taking my complaints online everywhere I can possibly post - and include my screen shots of the pages from the website as well as Gwen's comments acknowledging the verbiage is still out there.

Priceline.com hotel booking

I purchased a reservation for a hotel room through Priceline.com to attend a Senate Hearing at my local state capitol building. 2 days prior to my planned stay, the Hearing was cancelled. I tried to cancel my hotel reservation, first through my hotel (who said there was nothing they could do for me) and then through Priceline. They informed me that there was no cancellation policy available for my booking. How is that even possible? There should NEVER be a "No Cancellation Policy" as long as you are cancelling your booking before 24 hours prior to your stay. I am a teacher. I can't afford to pay for a $100 booking for a hotel room that I will not be staying at. This is absurd. Wonder how Priceline makes their money? By gouging customers with abhorrent customer service policies. Ridiculous.

If you had bothered to read the website terms before buying, you would have seen their no cancellation policy. But no, you were in too much of a hurry to be a cheapskate and try to save a few bucks.

Priceline.com false "best price guaranteed" advertising

On March 5, 2018 I book an Express Deal hotel room on the Priceline app for 3 nights at $91/night on the site which is available to the general public.
On March 7, 2018 I book the exact same room type, check-in/check-out dates, using the same form of payment, currency, and from the same point of sale as specified in the much touted "Best Price Guaranteed" rules but this time for $68/night.
I do not expect a refund. I wish to keep both reservations but feel its only fare that the price match be honored. Nowhere is a "price fluctuation exclusion" or "Express Deal excluded", or "Priceline.com excluded" or "Hotel name visibility exclusion" mentioned in the rules as falsely claimed by the two customer service representatives I spoke with on the same day of my latter purchase March 7, 2018 @ 10:10pm. This was inspite of him independently verifying the price of both my purchases on their website.
It makes me wonder whether the Priceline mantra is: "The only price we will not match is ours; at Priceline we find more innovative ways to gyp you than our competition"

Priceline.com double booking of a room

Hello,

I booked a hotel room in Stuttgart, Germany for today and when I got to the hotel, I was told that I had two rooms reserved.

I never got a confirmation email for the booking and when I looked for my trips on priceline. The only one I found was for one room.

Here is the priceline trip#: [protected]

Could you please verify and confirm that there was only one charge?

Thanks!

Priceline.com website

My family went on a vacation this past weekend. Usually we stay at the same hotel, but they were booked up. We had arrived late that evening so to safe us time of searching for a place to stay, we used the price-line.com website to help us find a room quickly. We had heard positive things from friends before so we thought this would be a quick and easy transaction. This seemed to be true, at first! I booked at room at the Suburban Extended Stay in Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina for 2/24/18. The transaction went through and we headed to our room. Upon arrival, I was notified that the hotel was already over max capacity. I explained to the receptionist that the price-line website had stated that there were rooms available and my card had been charged the $67.97. The lady at the desk stated that she had already spoke to several online hotel booking sites, multiple times, to notify them that they had no more rooms available. Price-line apparently didn't listen or didn't care. I then went back to the car and had to search for a price-line contact number and call in hopes that they could find us a room near by. The customer service rep I spoke to was able to relocate us, but not near where we wanted to be. We had to drive 30 minutes away from our favorite vacation spot. This was a huge inconvenience to my family and I. We had already driven 10 hours to get to our family get away and now we had to drive more in search of a room for my 3 young children to be able to get some sleep. I was not impressed with this service at all. I can not in good consciousness offer a good referral to friends or family in my recent experience of the price-line method.

Priceline.com blindly bidding on a brooklyn hotel

Buyer BEWARE!
I had the misfortune of placing a bid on 3 night stay in Brooklyn over Christmas of 2018. The hotel confirmed for my stay was absolutely substandard... dirty sheets, personal effects in rooms, rude staff. Plus the area in Brooklyn looked very tough. I would be afraid of the safety of my family there. It made me wonder if Priceline ever reads the hotel stayer's comments. This was suppose to be a 3 star hotel. No amenities. I called back to Priceline within 24 hours after making this reservation. Spoke with aa CS lady named Maria who considerately reversed my reservation and told me my payment for this disaster would be returned to my bank account. Read very carefully and research the hotel and area it is in before shelling out much money. Good luck!

Priceline.com error on priceline.com booked 2 expensive rooms and cannot cancel one

My daughter, who is a student, booked a room in Brampton, Ontario. Next day charged for 2 rooms, only needed one. Expensive charges on my credit card, I learned 2 rooms were booked. I tried to cancel the next day, saying an error was made. One room only was needed.

Could not cancel it. Fine print says no cancellations. This was not last minute either, the hotel was booked weeks in advance.

Whatever happened to a cooling off period, or the simple fact that the reservation agent made the mistake and booked two rooms, instead of one.

Being charged a lot of money for a room not needed.

Then they have the nerve to say well you can cancel the room, but you won't get your money back! What ? Talk about fraud and/or scam.

Anyway I tried on my daughter's behalf, my daughter tried and getting no where.

All I can do and all she can do now is telling everyone we know about Priceline.com and it's fraudulent practices and get the word out to never use this site or www.reservations.com again.

I hope that the Better Business Bureau or other agency out there Takes a good long look at this company and does something to protect consumers in future.

Priceline.com hotel advertised at 3.5 with horrible reviews

I bid and won a '3.5' star hotel. When I looked at the reviews for this hotel (Clarion in Overland Park Kansas) they were mostly very bad. Even on Priceline's own website it shows bad reviews for this property. My complaint is when I called, I was told that Priceline does not go by "reveiws from customers" it goes by "star rating of hotels". This does not make any sense to me. I realize you take a chance when you bid for a hotel you do not know the name of. However, I would think Priceline would monitor these hotels and when they see most reviews are bad, they'd look into this and not offer said hotel. Basically I was told 'too bad, we don't care, you bid, took the chance and it doesn't matter if property has horrible reviews, you are stuck'.

I've used priceline for many many years and mostly have had good results but the way I was treated makes me never want to try them again.

Priceline.com priceline reservation not honored at westin copley hotel boston

Booked a reservation at 11AM for a room w/King bed that Friday Evening. Arrived at the hotel at 8:00 PM only to be told at the front desk that Priceline had not paid them and therefore they were not honoring my reservation.

This seems like a common theme. Hotel front desk wanted me to call Priceline to resolve the issue. This was not my problem and requested to speak w/management. I ultimately had to direct pay the hotel, luckily they had plenty of rooms.

Follow up call w/Priceline the next day and the agent advises me that the room I booked through Priceline went through yet another travel booking agent and the pay process was delayed. The system needed more time to process the request.

I informed Priceline this was unacceptable in the modern day of computers and high speed internet.

You cannot rely on a Priceline hotel booking it seems. They seem to not be able to coordinate paying the vendor !

Priceline.com hotel reservation

I made a reservation with priceline, a cancelable reserveration at a hotel in scottsdale for december 31, 2017. I made it because it was cancelable as my husband is on probation and had to get approval. As it turned out his probation office did not approve it and when I went to cancel the reservation with price line two and half weeks before, they told it was non-refundable. Price line is nothing but a scam taking peoples money.
