Perfume Emporium perfume empire — products are not even worthy as air-fresheners.

Byers beware! Despite all the negative reviews, my wife and I gave Perfume Empire a try by placing a $210 order (2 perfumes & 2 colognes). We have always bought these perfumes/colognes from reputable department stores like Macy's. So we are quite familiar with the scent of the factory-sealed bottles of perumes/colognes. What we received smelled terrible - a mixture of cheap fragrance and alcohol.

The company refused to issue a return merchandise authorization and stopped responding to emails.

Perfume Empire must be one of the so many online scams in the fragrance industry. It's a wonder why the regulatory bodies governing commerce don't shut down this fraudulent operation.

Perfume Emporium fake perfume

I recently received my three Lanvin arpège pour Homme flasks and they were all fake. The content was yellow instead of transparent and the odor just not that of the original. Unfortunately I found out too late that they were scammers. Do not order from that site, they can't be trusted. I'm pretty sure they will not pay me back even though their site look ok.

Perfume Emporium fake perfumes

I ordered a creed perfume on the website PerfumeEmporium.com.I have been using this brand for a very long time so I know the smell like i know my name. I stumbled into an advert of the product with a low price and i got interested. When i received the perfume, The first spray smelled like the original but after a few minutes the fragrance had disappeared (the original will stay for weeks). So i sprayed again and this time it was a strange smell. i shook the bottle and sprayed again and OMG... i just couldnt tell what was in that bottle. This site is a BIG SCAM. Do not ever buy from them again. I wish i had read this site before ordering from them.

Perfume Emporium Imitation fragrance and fake company

Dear Folks,

Well, I Strongly suggest anyone not to deal with these PerfumeEmporium.com people, they will give you cheap price too good to be true for an original item which is in fact totally faked imitation.
(What they write in here is a pack of lies! http://www.perfumeemporium.com/guarantee.cfm )
Recently I have purchased a 30 oz bottle perfume from the PerfumeEmporium.com but I have received a fragrance that smells as a noname $3 imitation because I have already known the original and also the bottle & label & box donot look original either ! Furthermore, I have not received any invoice/bill since it has been sent as a gift but not as a commercial item to avoid taxation and related follow up in case of a complaint!

Don't waste your money to buy items from them simply because their physical contact information as stated on their website is given below but there is no such company settled over there because my location falls luckily within close viccinity to their address and personally I have visited the spot mentioned! Beware this scammer!
PerfumeEmporium.com

Customer Service - [protected]

Moreover, they write on that they operate a large warehouse where they stock over 30, 000 products http://www.perfumeemporium.com/about.cfm; However, it is really odd they send the goods from Nukalofa-TONGA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nukualofa) from where my order has been posted (see the picture of the box cover I attached).
It seems that they have found a perfect location for fraudulent activities and they operate their underground business from there; click the following to see Tonga:

Note that the Sender (see the picture of the box cover attached again) shows a company namely Candle Bay Inc ! so having googled it I have reached the conclusion that these scammers are linked to another corrupt activity with exactly the same address but their tel no is different; Telephone: [protected]

Lastly, I have tried to call both numbers given but no avail!. Having checked each of their tel no via reverse phone check:

-We are sorry but we could not find information on [protected]...
http://www.reversephonecheck.com/results.php?phone=8777826580
-We are sorry but we could not find information on [protected]. ...
So, these numbers as a result look to be INVALID!

And each of their website's 'About Us' section covers the same story and it begins like these ;
http://www.candlebay.com/customerservice.cfm#Q2
Candle Bay was started in June 2002 by two brothers who wanted to bring ...
http://www.perfumeemporium.com/about.cfm
Perfume Emporium was started in 1999 by two brothers who wanted to bring ...

So, who are these two brothers? Virtual scammer brothers with no name & no origin!

Later on I have reviewed some of the customer complaint sites about the PerfumeEmporium scammer and learnt that many people have suffered similarly!

Like everyone I time to time buy goods from the internet. This was my worst experience of all unfortunately. I wish I had done a solid search before buying from these shady con artists! They are all fraud and cheating!

Beware and take enough care!

I wish I did more search before I placed my order from PerfumeEmporium.com. The online reviews of this company can't be any worse. The fragrance is just outright fake. it smells no better than what you get from the dollar store. when I searched the address, I found another company mefragrance (www.mefragrance.com) at the same location at 3440 West Warner Ave., Suite C & D, Santa Ana, CA 92704 United States . The who.is info of the domain mefragrance.com confirms it is owned by Candle Bay Inc. See attachment.
Now everything seems make sense. mefragrance makes its own fragrance so it very convenient for them to make fake fragrance. Stay clear.

Perfume Emporium Terrible website, don't order!

I made an order and purchased from Perfume Emporium. I did not receive a confirmation message and there was no tracking number. I waited over a week and decided to contact Perfume Emporium customer service about my order status. They said they did not have any record that I made any orders and claimed they never took my money. That was an absolute lie! I was in contact with them for a long time and tried to prove I was telling the truth but they refused to believe me. I never received my order and my money back. I would not recommend this terrible website to anyone!

Perfume Emporium Credit Card

I´ve purchased on VISA Credit Card on 26/12/2015, order #1045670, a total of US$ 142 in perfumes from WWW.PERFUMEEMPORIUM.COM. A few days later I received a despondent, asinine and sarcastic e-mail stating that the products would ship between 30 to preposterous 90 days! Shipment and costumes on my account! Should the products be not received in a 60-day time [I live in Rio - the city of Olympiads 2016], I should contact the company by e-mail warning them that a “shipment problem occurred”. Well, I live in Rio, not on the surface of the Moon, North Korea, Tibet, Bhutan, Tunguska, the Aleutian Islands, or Vanuatu. Perfume Emporium Refused refund

I ordered eye cream through Rakuten.com, the vendor was perfume-emporium. Shortly after finalizing the order I realized that the product was overpriced and available for half the price on other sites. I immediately canceled my order. Nonetheless the item arrived at my house on Saturday December 21, 2013. On Monday December 23, 2013 I mailed the original package back from my local post office and notified perfume emporium . It is now one month later and customer service claims that they never received my package and they are refusing my refund. I even supplied the USPS bill number as proof, they still refuse to pay. Is this even legal?

Perfume Emporium imitation fragrance

I purchased perfume "Cabaret" from the PerfumeEmporium.com and received a fragrance that smells as a chip $3 imitation and bottle (not even full), label are not original as well. As a "courtesy" company offered to me to ship the imitation back at my own expense. It is a 100 ml heavy bottle and after all, I am not sure that I will receive the refund. I would never recommend that site to anyone and would never use it myself.

Perfume Emporium Goods paid for but not delivered

Perfume ordered through website and paid for by Visa.Emails from Chris at [protected]@theperfumeemporium.co.uk said it was sent on 7 April by 1st. class Royal Mail but I had to wait 15 working days before Chris could send a replacement or refund the money. After this wait I emailed again and Chris said a replacement would be with me in a few days;a week has passed and still no delivery.I also asked for proof of posting and he did not give this.

I have since asked for a full refund and that email has not been answered.

An email dated 26 May tells me that a refund is not due until 12 June 'under the distance selling regulations'.

Chris has had my money since 7 April and I have had no goods or credible explanation. Surely I should be entitled to a refund before 12 June?

Emails and contact through the website seem the only means of communicating with the Perfume Emporium---there is no evidence that it actually exists as retailer!

After more emails a refund was made on 12 June

Hi guys, if you haven't received a refund after 30 days what you firstly need to do is contact Trading Standards. Tell them what has happened, give them the name of the Propriertor and the company name and address. They will give you a Referemce Number which you should keep in a safe place for future reference.

In the meantime, write a letter to the Perfume Emporium asking them for your money back. You are legally entitled to your money back after 30 days under 'The Distance Selling Regulations'. Send your letter Recorded Delivery so that the company can't say they haven't received it.

If you still do not get any joy, contact Trading Standards again, quoting the Reference Number they gave you earlier, and they will then take your complaint to the next level.

I trust this information has been helpful to you. NOW GO GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

Perfume Emporium Non-delivery of goods

I placed an order for over £80 on June 17th 2010 for my wife's birthday. Received email saying that goods despatched 21st June by Royal Mail First Class signed for.

Emailed "Chris" that goods not arrived. He replied Royal Mail were at fault, give it a few days. When a few days were up I emailed again. Received the standard reply that "Chris" was "upset" with Royal Mail and then we entered into many emails where "Chris" was telling me that Royal Mail would not investigate until after 15 days and that any refund would be after many more days after that, as per "distance selling".

Suffice to say that I made it abundantly clear to "Chris" that I was not prepared to wait that long and that if he did not refund me straight away, or send the goods, he would regret it.
By this time I had belatedly read reviews and knew what sort of person I was dealing with.
I also knew that I lived reasonably near to his address (it is on his website) and made him aware that I was quite happy to arrive on his door and sort out the problem if we could not resolve it by email, he knew that I could be there in under an hour.
For some reason he did not want this and said it would achieve nothing
I had asked for proof of posting and despite the fact that the proof would show that he was genuinely an honest businessman, badly let down by Royal Mail, he declined to send me a copy or any details so that I could pursue the matter with Royal Mail.
I made a point of emailing him 3 or 4 times a day to ensure that he knew I meant business.
I contacted Consumer Direct, got a reference number and immediately rang Notts. Trading Standards on [protected] where I spoke to Anna Potter. Although she could not comment on The Perfume Emporium as it was an on-going investigation, I got the impression that such cases were very drawn out. I had a further conversation with Trading Standards during which I told them that I had told Chris Collings that I had managed to contact a large number of irate customers who had posted reviews on a number of forums and were willing to give up their time to have a demonstration outside his house at Glenloch Drive. I had also notified John Robinson of This is Nottingham [protected]), a local journalist who had expressed interest in covering the idea.
I told Trading Standards that I hoped their role in this saga was robust, as it would undoubtably come out during the following publicity.

I had already informed Collings that unfortunately I would not be able to let him know when the demo. would take place, but it did not matter if he was not there, as the media would catch up with him after the event if necessary.
I had been advised by Consumer Direct to send Collings a letter stating that if goods not received by a certain date he would be in breach of contract. I did this, recorded delivery. I was still sending him 3-4 emails per day and he acknowledged receipt of this letter in a reply.
He is obviously worried by complaints to Notts .Trading Standards

It was at this point that I found an item referring to The Perfume Emporium on the BBC Watchdog web-site which had a statement from Collings saying how he had run out of money in 2009 and was trying to pay refunds back and should be clear by end of year.

This was followed by a joint statement by Notts. Police and Notts. Trading Standards which said that they had had a meeting with Collings on 25/11/09 and he had given certain undertakings. Although still trading, they were "monitoring" him.

I was furious. Here he was, still pulling the same stunts and they were supposed to be monitoring him.
I rang Trading Standards and asked a manager what it was that Collings had to do to not conform to their requirements, as it appeared that he was still carrying on in exactly the same way, but now with their joint approval since 25/11/09.
I should add that I was insistent that a manager speak to me and I was phoned at home by them. I was told that they could not discuss this case as it could prejudice the outcome, but I got a 10 minute lesson on current legislation.
By this time Collings was being worn down by various things that I had proposed to him and promised me a refund which was put back on my card account on about 20th July. Very quick.
I had already been refunded by my card provider, so was never going to be out of pocket. I had made the point to my card provider, Notts. Police ( oh yeah, I rang them as well) and Notts. Trading Standards; thsat I was not bothered about losing £83.85. I just wanted to ensure that Chris Collings was stopped from pulling the same stunt on anyone else.
My advice. Deal through Consumer Direct, then Notts. Trading Standards. Send the letter to Collings by recorded delivery. Keep the pressure on Notts. Trading Standards, this guy should have been shut down by now and the more people that tell them that, the sooner it may happen.

The other things I proposed to Collings were to make him believe that he had picked the wrong person for his scam and spoil each day for him. (I did send one early in the morning to keep him on his toes).
The fact that he refunded so quickly makes me think that he actually did believe that.

I still send him an email or two just to let him know I have not forgotten him and intend looking him up next time I am in the area.
I am watching the reviews to see if new ones are still being posted and intend letting Trading Standards know if this is the case. Just in case they do not realise it.

I would love Watchdog to pick this up and examine Trading Standards role.

Perfume Emporium Mariella Burani Eau Rosee Eau toilette

Ordered Mariella Burani Eau Rosee. Company is out of business and I was thrilled to find it on line to purchaser, I have been wearing this fragrance for about 6-7 yrs. Know what the bottle and fwhat rangrance smells like.

Box arrives in mail today. Looks like box perfume comes in except bottle is missing the name Eau Rosee on it, as all bottles of that fragrance have on the front. Fragrance smells similar but is not the same AT ALL. When sprayed on, fragrance dissipates within five-ten minutes. We compared the original bottle I ahve and the new one- no comparison. The new one is a fake.

This is a fake fragrance and not a manufactured product as I have bought in department stores or in the islands, over the years. Perfume Emporium should be watched and investigated with this fragrance and maybe others.

I am returning it even though I am told there is a re-stocking fee for open products. How would I have smelled it without opening it?

Perfume Emporium Do not use this bogus company

If I could give this company a minus rating I would. I purchased some perfume 7 days ago using debit/Visa but I have still not received anything after 2 e-mails. Have contacted the Police and Trading Standards today who said this company is a SCAM. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS BOGUS SITE - the man/woman allegedly called Chris is a CRIMINAL and should be in prison and must be stopped. I am still trying to establish where my £47.00 has gone? -My bank must know which account my money has gone to? The police fraud office are investigating. Chris, or whoever you are, you will be caught.

Perfume Emporium Complaint

I recently ordered some perfume from this website and it never turned up, I kept contacting Chris Collings and he kept fobbing me off, it soon became clear that my order was never going to arrive and it hasn't. I order many thing off the internet from many sites but this is the first time I have been involved in a scam. I don't understand how someone can get away with this?! Since basically it is illeagle and fraudulent. It isn't the money that's the issue, it's the dissapointment and the inconvienence it causes that makes me extremely angry. But I refuse to let him win, I won't walk away without getting a full refund!

Perfume Emporium 100% pure scam

After ordering perfurme and paying for it for my daughters birthday I still have not received either the perume or money back despite being promised a cheque back or an inconvenience cheque for £5 I am really annoyed as this comany are obviously con artists I live within 25 miles of their address and am tempted to ask if I can fetch the perfume personally. The money is not the important thing to me but alot of people would miss £40 they may have spent more it is just the principal.

Having placed an order and paid in mid December, my delivery failed to arrive by early January. I then asked for a second order to be dispatched which CHRIS obliged - blaming Royal Mail for non delivery. needless to say the second delivery never arrived. I wish I'd read all these comments in December but I will live and learn. I will write off the money as I will not see it again.

Perfume Emporium Unpleasant experience

Having read all the other emails then mine simply echoes what has been said before. My money was taken from my account 3 days after filling the online purchase order. I received one email to say that it had been dispatched. Following several emails from me I then received one from somebody called Chris inferring it was the Royal Mail's fault and I had to wait for 15 days.

I've subsequently reported Chris and his company to the Office of Fair Trading. Go to consumerdirect.gov.uk and have a look at the template letters which they offer for distance buying. They said to send a letter with copies of your email complaints to 42 Glenloch Drive, Nottingham, NG11 9AH. You have to wait for 30 days for him to respond and then contact Fair Trading again. The number is [protected]. I shall wait with bated breath on this but, we as consumers, have to do something to name and shame these people.

Dear Madam,
Your first shipment of the mini of the month was mailed out on this morning 6/9/09 through the US Postal Service
Your June mini of the month USPS tracking information confirming delivery of this small order on 7/25/09. We would ask that you speak with your neighbors and/or your local postal carrier since we did ship it with tracking and need to know who is holding your package. We appreciate your help in this matter.
