Hi
I just want to know if anyone else has bought furniture or goods of perfect homes. Me and my husband bought two three seater setees from them last year. I was so pleased to be able to get some new furniture i'm a fraid i didn't take much notice of the high interest. I'm now stuck with another three years of payments that i can hardly afford as now my circumstances have changed and i have lost some income. Just recently i could'nt afford to pay one week and they charged me £3. 00 on top of my payment. I have heard as well if you have difficulty paying there is no help with reduced payments and they even come and remove your goods in some cases. I feel like i've got stuck with loan sharks but they are doing it within the law. Their interest is clossal i could have got a loan instead and payed less interest. I feel like they are taking advantage of people who are on low income and can't afford to pay cash for good or have a low credit scoring. I just want people to be aware that they charged more than treble the price the goods are worth surely they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this. What do other people think about this?

I didn't as for a personal attack yes I know I've been stupid. All I'm asking if anyone else has had dealings with these people and what their experiences have been.

You are well within your rights to do a voluntary termination of contract. Sometimes we can afford things but our personal situation can change making things harder. To any negative people...if you can afford all that money go and buy the stuff out right!

I am currently a customer of perfect home and the sooner I pay them off the better! I took home insurance out in September 2014 but as I work full time I was unable to take the documents to them as proof until 3 wks ago. I asked of this would be backdated to the date I took out the policy and their answer was no!
I have since read on their website that from the 21st July 2014 optional service cover is now included in the price so if this is the case why since the 21st July have I been paying extra for this service? And why did they not offer to remove the service when I took my insurance policy in as surely what they offer in the cover plus is included in my home insurance! Fuming is not the word! I will be ringing them tomorrow but will probably get a load of bull crap followed by yes we can remove it but can't back date it! Argh! From a very angry perfect home customer!

There's a few thing's you can do you can send it back or you can reduce your payments by getting your own home insurance and also ask the to take their repair cover off as this is just as much as the product you've got so if you pay i.e £1000 with interest I'll be £1000 spk to them about this and they will try to put you of saying you can take it off because it's our peace of mind or if you do it's a new agreement and your interest will go up that's rubbish hope this helps

The person who has posted about the fridge freezer we had the same issue it is manufacturing fault, had no issues getting them to come out as i always deal with the head office. they replaced it with a new one that did the same and i ended up with a better fridge feezerfor the same price as the other for the issues i had had. Never had an issue with ph pay £172 a week, dont have there insurance, never missed a payment no issues.

I'm a customer with perfect home, since being a customer with them i have had nothing but hssle from them .
im with the cardiff store where the staff simply have no manners i missed a week payment recently due to a family funeral and after they called me to ask why payment was not made i explained a famiy funeral . the reply i had from the manager was everyone uses the same excuse . this firm is the worst ever i have made several complaints to customer service but they simply dont want to know .they are just after the weekly payments . i wouldnt recommend not so perfect home to anyone . when i ordered a double bed i waited 10 weeks before it was delivered the behaviour of this firm is just disgusting .

oh my goodness ! this is all confirming everything i have been a brighthouse customer for several years and theyve all been great! i have sent a lot of items back over time for different circumstances and never been spoken to or mistreated... however when i became a perfect home customer now that is a whole different story! they are sooooo rude and disgusting the way they treat and speke to people i had some problem after never missing at all id taken out a buy now pay 8 weeks later contract after 6 weeks all of a sudden they were adding extra money on top when i explained that it was only the 6th weeks payment ( which happend to be the exact weekly price of an item!) all of a sudden this "julie" from the liverpool store was ranting down the phone i should count myself lucky i wasnt getting a £30! fine for refusing to pay for the item as she was trying to add weeks on ! i also had issues with my home contents insurance cover it wasnt coming "off" the system so was forever getting charged when i had my insurance! then weeks down the line i cud not let this extra payments on buy now pay later go i rang to query it out all i got was abuse to be told I did not owen the items they belonged to perfecthomes ive never felt sooo embarassed in my life i refuse to go into store as i am livid at this treatment i pay over the phone to avoid any dealings with this sharks! am currently talling up whatever i can send back as ive had enough off the abuse of staff iam sick of getting made to feel like second class citizen bright house do care and do not treat staff this way hope this helps people cheryl!

I have bought a fridge freezer and a washing machine. Fridge is getting very noisy. Call them a to report the fault. They sent a technician and I was told that nothing wrong with fridge. Still does noises so rang again and spoke with manager. Again same man came to my house and he only opened the fridge and said to my daughter " there is some ice stuck on fan so your father will need to switch off the fridge for 1 day and put it on again next day. Well the fridge freezer was new and I have it for 2 months. I have done a video with the stupid noise and I will make a complain. Will I be able to stop my payment until the fridge gets fixed?

Hi Everyone,

I never did go to PH for my couches, I have been saving up and putting up with my ones that kill your back if you sit for too long, I find things to do so i don't sit down now haha. I read all these complaints and thought I'm not having them ringing my ref's to see why I haven't paid (not that I had any intention of missing a payment) but the thought of them hounding ref's was horrifying. I would rather suffer for a bit longer than to be hounded like other have been, I would be getting done for assault if they spoke to me like the way they have others, I wont take that off family so i certainly wont take it off a salesperson in a shop.
I hope these complaints put others off from going to places like these, I am desperate for new couches but not that desperate. I've heard that before about their insurance, even if you have top notch insurance they still want you to take out theirs...hmmm they got a fiddle going on there or something?

trying to get the rip off insurance ATLAS (based in Malta ?) off my monthly premiums and iM now starting to get to same experiences as others even though my insurance is 1000% more protective than ATLAS and is UK based.
They are refusing to remove their insurance based on their premis that the insurance has to be like for like (my excess is £150 to their £100) even though I pointed out that the size of the excess reflects directly on the size of the premium and not the insurance itself !

Worst mistake I ever did getting furniture off perfect home. I wanted to send my settee back because I waited a month for it to get repaired. But everytime I rang them up it was always ring us back on saturday. When I told them to come and collect the settee they wanted me to pay an extra week so they could pick it up when they're ready. And the way they speak to you on the phone, so aggressive until they get that payment.
Don't get anything from here unless you know what you're getting yourself into!

I am a customer of perfect home and it's the worst mistake I have made in my life, the only reason I used them is because at the time I had bad credit (which is now good :-) ) I have never ever missed a payment as it comes straight out of my bank account without fail every month, every single month I have several phone calls from them asking for payment and I have to explain the same thing every month, it comes straight out my bank, I have had to take bank statements to the store to prove that I have paid, when I went to the store to prove that I had paid I was spoken to like I was ### of the earth and have never had an apology from them for their incompetence, they are a bunch of ###s who haven't got a clue what they are doing. They are the most vile, rudest people I have ever dealt with and thankfully I have only got 5 payments left. If they have treated me like this and I have never missed a payment I dread to think how they would treat me if I was to miss one.

Hi Everyone.

I googled reviews for PH as I need new sofa's and these seemed the cheapest out of the different pay weekly shops, and after reading all of them just in this post I have now changed my mind about going in there for sofa's. I will save up instead and buy outright from a shop.
Thanks for the posts they have really helped me.

Lynsey do you have the cover plus warranty? If you do that allows you to return the sofa without financial penalty. Usually with a hire purchase in order to return the item you need to pay for 50% of the contract but I believe the cover plus warranty allows for return without paying the 50% off, if that makes sense.

HI,
Perfect home has just been to my house, they where there for 5 minutes and manged to, in that time, Swear at my father and my brother in front of me, bearing in mind im only 13 years old. Humiliate me by shouting that my father should "make sure he and my brother can at least pay his own bills" (in front of neighbors and passers by). Call my father some very inappropriate names which are to 'colorful' for me to state and ask questions that they had no right to bee asking or any need of the answers, personal issues that are in fact, none of there business. I wouldn't want to be in the company or be in any relation to workers or the whole business of perfect homes and i am not only very displeased with there attitude and lack of respect but i am disgusted that they couldn't control them selves even in the presents of a minor!

My ex-partner purchased an item from Perfect Home. He was with them for over a year and a half before he stopped making payment due to his financial downfall and job loss. They then started ringing me, I continued making payments. Due to a domestic issue we separated. Now Perfecthome keep ringing and they have gone to his mothers!I With the persistent phone calls, which I refused to answer I finally rang them. They said they have no choice my manager will be bringing the police to collect the goods, as it belongs to them! He doesn't live there nor is the good (tv)!I just said thats fine dear. I am not going to be bullied, I have paid well over a grand and a half and it is not even in my name. I am certain in the contract if a certain amount has been paid off they will consider that the customer can keep the goods etc. Has anyone had perfecthome come with the police regarding their overdue account and wanting goods back?

I will never get anything off that company EVER! Again, I never missed any payments but the 1 day I couldn't get in to pay they was on the phone demanding my bank details so they could take the money out that way. When I refused they turned into bullies and told me they CAN'T and WON'T let me get in arrears, I explained I would be in that week to pay but that wasn't good enough, so being abit upset and angry that I was spoken to like I was a child I went to pay my bill of £2.17 pence!. In the shop it just got worse, they made me feel awfull and just turned into bullies yet again. I cancelled my contract and demanded they come and collect there products there and then! I do not recommend any1 gets from this shop as they are just all jobsworth that think they can pray on innocent people

I brought a sofa from perfect homes it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I would advise anyone thinking of getting anything from there not too.
They are not understanding at all. I was in hospital so got behind with only 1 payment and got hounded every hour of everyday even when I told them I'm in hospital. They even came to my house as I found out when I returned home from hospital there was several cards on the floor. They prey on the less fortunate I would honestly advise people to either ask family for help, save up or buy 2nd hand !
They advertise low repayments then when your signing the agreement they tell you all the rest they are whacking on. And most people still sign because of how desperate they are.

Best store in the UK with the most sales gets 30k shared and an iPad each...
Will sell display items twice sometimes three times...Only for the customer to get stiched with another 1 at full price...Broke tellys being delivered only to be picked up at sometime and another ex display model being delivered...
Bad company to work for...Bout time the FSA spanked them...

I have been a customer of Perfect Homes in Bootle for about 5 years. I have missed say four payments in all that time. I missed one on Saturday and a lady called Julie rang me from the Bootle Branch in Liverpool. She gave me a load of abuse down the phone. I firstly hung up on her because I was not listening to her abuse down the phone. She rang back and I answered she said that I had said on Sunday (when they are not even open) that I had said that I would pay the £45 today which is Monday. I said I hadn't after that I told her that I would go into the store on Tuesday to pay it as there had been a mix up with my benefits. She said that I had better not ever put the phone down on her again. She then said that I had to pay it by 12.00 tomorrow, I rang customer services to complain about her and I got the impression . They didn't want to know, I understand that they are a business but they need to get staff or should I say managers who speak to people in a proper and civil manner, I will never get anything from them again. I have had two computers of them the first one blew up and they said it was new. There was a cash convertors sticker on it at the back. When I took it back they denied it. I threatened to take it to a solicitor and they gave me another new and in two weeks the motherboard and the memory card went on it. The other pc has spent more time in Dell than I have used it. I will NEVER shop there again. There managers attitude towards customers STINKS.

hi lizzybaby, I worked at perfect home for 3 years so im sure I can help you... if your account is in arrears you need to clear ONLY the arrears to put your account on a freeze, for example if you pay 10.00 per week, with 1 item, and you have missed 3 weeks, to bring the account fully up to date it will be 43.50. which is the 3 weeks you have missed, the late fee, and the week that is owing. so to clear the arrears you will need to pay a minimum of 33.50. you MUST clear the arrears in order for the store to help you, it is nothing personal, just the way we have to do things. also provide documentation stating the change in circumstances. they cannot then refuse to freeze your account. if they still will not help then contact head office. out of curiousity, which store are you eith
