nextdoor does not allow problem neighbors to be removed
As the original Lead for our neighborhood for the past few years, I have been extremely disappointed in the direction that Nextdoor has been moving. For the most part, our neighbors have used Nextdoor for positive, uplifting, communication enhancing purposes, but there is always a bad apple in every crowd. Nextdoor has not given the Leads the ability to shut down neighbors who cause problems, make personal verbal attacks or continually use profanity on the site. They make it real easy to set up a Nextdoor site, but then it grows like a cancer that can't be stopped. I am ready to step down as the Lead, but I feel a personal senses of responsibility to my neighbors since I was the one who originally invited them to the site. Leads need the ability to lock individuals out of the site if they continually violate the site guidelines.
You need to step down as you don’t believe in free speech. No wonder they made you the lead.
I now understand why a previous Lead we had in our area did not do anything after a while of being the lead. He just gave up and didn't do anything. Our neighborhood was allowed to just go crazy and post up anything they wanted with no intervention from the Lead. Neighbors were arguing with one another and they were posting up mean posts as well. It is sad when you, as a Lead, feel discouraged with no help from Nextdoor officials. And the Leads do not have any control over what is posted in their area because other Leads can and do outvote them. It is sad. I use to enjoy Nextdoor.
I know exactly who one of them is...her name is "rhonda" something I dont remember her last name but she got me kicked out...she interfered into a conversation between others and insinuated herself into the conversation... by trying to redirect the nature of the conversation...essentially attempting to censoring the subject at hand...making threats to others about her ability to kick people out...others in the conversation told her to butt out...but it is her...she lives in the ashford park area in houston...
Exactly what they did to me it's like some high school gossip center and it is very very clickesh if they are jealous or something else immature they just remove you I am so disgusted and will keep posting how bad they are and we all need to keep contacting their headquarters.!

that is correct. leads are sometimes the most onerous violators of the spirit of neighborhood that i have seen. add in the busybodies of people with too much time and their desire for a feefee website and you get a horrible violation of privacy that doesn't actually do what it proposes to as its mission. better to get the word out about never signing up in the first place

Nextdoor is like a cliquish high school group that suppresses free speech, the members declare they can recognize a criminal by their looks, and they have fantasy ideas (safety issue here) about their level of privacy on Nextdoor).
I tried to educate them about this, and I was SECRETLY (without any notice by Nextdoor) terminated from the site. What a shocking and disgusting way to do business.

been a member since 2014 when everyone was doing it...I havn't used until yesterday someone told me to log in--there was over 24 comments from my neighbor that I was a drug dealing-cat killing-disgrace, , etc

unauthorized account deletion
I asked them to stop sending emails to my account (spamming) regardless of turning off all email notifications on their website. A staff associate decided to delete my family's account because we shared the same address and felt that was the reason. The emails used are completely different and are in no way linked or associated with each other. Now I still have an account but my family does not.
There is no way to contact them other than email, which is very fustrating, and is not good business ettiquete on their part.
I have retained all copies of the email coorespondance for future proof that I did not request the deactivation of an account that is not mine. This is a major security breech and clearly shows evidence that anyone can request to delete another users account without their permission.
social network that has a clear socialist base to it
This company, Nextdoor.com, censors its clients post if they are opposed to their political beliefs. It is a web site that is very clearly Socialist in theory. If you talk politics on their network they edit out what they dont like and then accuse you of being mean and phobic of friendliness. Typical Marxist move in theory. Stay way far back from this website, they allow the local police on it and their moderators are socialist. BAD! BAD! COMPANY folks, stay away from them. go to CAUSES.COM/FREESPEECH.
If enough people got together maybe there could be a great prejudice law suit!

I'm absolutely disgusted with Nextdoor and my terrible neighbors! This website is a perfect place to see how nasty your neighbors really are. I posted something on this website and received tons of negative comments from one nasty neighbor. I asked him to stop writing terrible things about me but it did not stop me. Then I reported him to Nextdoor. I explained that he said a lot of nasty things about me and my family and I asked Nextdoor to remove that man from their website. And they did not reply! They simply ignored me and did nothing to help. I hate this website!
Wowwww... Just ran up on this complaint board for nextdoor and am amazed at how prevelant this 'bully' behavior is on this public platform! I too believe NextDoor is nothing more than a platform for certain 'bully-type' folks to jump on anyone about whatever they post! I posted something back in the summer about removing historical statues and other artifacts from the Civil war and was immediately called a "White supremist racist terrorist". I had to chuckle at that because the person who posted that comment was young enough to be my daughter and had no CLUE who I was or what I look like! I created a commentary just to play with those bullies and baited them to see just how they would respond. Boy... what an eye opener for who my neighbors are! There were over 200 comments most of which were derogatory, racially motivated, downright hateful comments designed to intimidate and it was like watching lab rats... Pavlov's dogs doing just what I suspected they would do! They did not disappoint! And this is in an upper middle class area with 6-digit incomes and $1M houses! They obviously have no clue what it means to have 'class'. I am more than happy to provide a copy of my post and all comments to NextDoor or whomever is working these complaints. However, all that being said, it's very sad indeed the concept of NextDoor which is that of good for all is left to be controlled by specific neighborhood 'leads' of which we do not know who they are but prove repeatedly are most definitely biased. There is most definitely a clique on our local NextDoor platform. I thought those went away after high school... Guess not! Not the way a public forum should be run. Shame on you NextDoor. You're taking all that income and allowing the lab rats to multiply and be even more wretched.
censorship / failure to protect victims
I posted an inquiry on Nextdoor.com and was bullied by three residents. I called them "trolls" and Nextdoor banned ME from posting. Apparently, calling somebody who is an online troll a "troll" is "name-calling" according to the self-righteous twits at Nextdoor. Several residents stood up for me, but instead of protecting me from the bullies who were harassing me, Nextdoor decided to engage in additional bullying.

What you are all describing is a news story. Contact the media - good guys trying to shine a light should not be shut down, that's the whole point of a community trying to help each other stay safe.

The sad thing is this website is now the tool of the bullies and abusers. If you complain about criminals, that are trying to do scams or prey on the community, that is "shaming.:" In the spirit of Nazis and White Nationalists, don't dare even try to have an opposing view to someone who is leading vulnerable people into being scammed, or try to say that something doesn't sound right and that people should double check through licensing boards, or check out contractor licensees, etc, because that might be shaming someone. I saw a crackhead steal from my garage, i got home while she was loading up a van, she literally had a crack pipe in her hand. I mentioned this and my post got deleted, i didn't even call her a crackhead. You're not allowed to say anything negative about criminals. I guess the philosophy is that criminals commit crimes because they're systematically oppressed or something and it's not the criminals fault, they're just poor victims so don't talk poorly about them. Another time there was a post about how great vaccines are, I mentioned that my cousin is mentally and physically retarded after a vaccine visit. My post was deleted. I didn't even say vaccines are bad, just that they're not without consequence.
Now the police and judge are involved in this same harassment and they wont file charges against the President of the HOA whi brought a gun in my home to intimidate me. The judge through it out, even though he didn't have a CWP. so anyone can carry a weapon without recourse. It really saddens me especially after 7 officers were in a violent shooting in Florence with one officer being killed.

Same here, they removed me instead of the bullies. I recieved hate emails and showed proof and got nowhere. Now my husband tried to make an account an hes blocked too for no apparent reason. I'm afraid to walk through my neighborhood without carrying now because these adults are so heartless. Now I know what children go through and commit suicide This almost happened to me. But by the Grace of God I pulled it together. They aren't worth it.
If any of you on here have access to LinkedIn and/or Facebook/Twitter or any media contacts, tell your story and tag every senior Nextdoor executive or board member you can identify, also civil rights groups. This is disgusting. I've been threatened and abused on a local Nextdoor just a couple of days ago, literally just submitted a complaint so fully expect to be banned myself instead of the name-callers who've made actual threats. Don't stand for this, it's not acceptable.

When we first signed on to Nextdoor we thought it was a great idea. But recently we were denied access to our Nextdoor account because of their security department. This is a big mistake! When we contacted their customer service and asked what was going on they said something that made absolutely no sense! Many times we tried to contact them but they never explained the reason. What kind of customer service is that? Nextdoor is not good at all. The lack of customer support is absolutely disgusting! There are lots of other better ways to meet and connect with real neighbors.

I am a Nextdoor member and in our neighborhood we have a huge problem. Our moderator is out of control! She's spreading lies and gossips and we cannot stop her. Yesterday she told the whole neighborhood that I'm beating my wife and son! I immediately contacted Nextdoor customer service and told them what happened. Their reps ignored all the complaints, and she has torn the the neighborhood apart. Many people from our neighborhood now hate each other for no reason! This is so sad and I'm so disgusted with Nextdoor!
I was removed from next door without any reason and have not been answered by anyone in regards, so what is it anyone can have you removed for no apparent reason and get away with it.? What kind of app does this and now I see all the other complaints and I will not stop until I get answers so I will contact their headquarters if they even exist.!

I was a Nextdoor member, but they I've started getting creepy messages from one of moderators telling me to stop meddling in the homeowners business. I'm sick of being treated so horribly! I have no idea what happened or why they are doing this to me! I also tried to sell some books but moderator keeps deleting everything I post! I contacted Nextdoor customer service, but they said that there was nothing they could do. Moderators are absolutely disgusting, I hate them! They can lie about you and customer service would do absolutely nothing! If you have decent moderators it can be a good thing. But I'm done with this website!

This website is a complete joke! I am a member of a community of my neighbourhood and there are many issues within our community. A woman which is on the lead is causing all the problems. She chooses what should be posted and deleted, she does not care about other peoples feelings at all. Most of the things she is posting are lies! For example, vandalism from kids in our neighborhood. There is no such thing in our neighbourhood. Our neighbourhood is a peaceful and safe place, nothing terrible ever happened here. I contacted Nextdoor support and explained the situation but they said they could not do anything about that woman. They also said that we should deal with it ourselves, since it is our problem and not theirs. Horrible service! That woman is spreading lies and we are sick of it. We want her out of our community, but we cannot do anything without Nextdoor help.

This site is a place where neighbors come together. Using this site you can get information about all your neighbours. Also, users of this site are racists. All the time they speak about suspicious people who turn out to be people of different ethnicities. The site administrators can't handle anything. The worst part is that all the neighbors that hate each other post horrible things about each other. Everyone know your name, address, even your dogs name! If you want to join „nextdoor” forget about privacy. The only three times that I have posted an opinion I have been abused and harassed by my neighbours. The lies and misinformation are damaging to a person's reputation and character. I deactivated my account and am very happy about it. And now I just want to warn other people. This site is also very useful for criminals. They can get really good information on people living in a neighborhood (name and address). Well, If you like to view your neighbors attacking each other then this site is exactly for you. But I recommend to avoid nextdoor.

I registered on the website www.nextdoor.com and wrote the post, where I asked if someone knew the place, which was for rent. After that I started to receive strange emails from the users. They asked to provide landlord name and contact info, after that they wanted my personal info, and it happened because of my log in name. I used nickname, and I was so annoyed and disappointed with such attitude. I hoped that it would be good, but it was the worst website I ever saw.
This site contains advocation of illegal activities, trying to point it out results in banning and suspension. Disgusting moderation practices.
They disabled my account because I do not use my birth name or uploaded a picture of myself. This is completely a case of discrimination, how can you dictate to me what name I use amongst family friends and neighbors… lawsuit waiting to happen.
I have tried for days now to post a new wellness social event they keep deleting it saying I am spamming. On a daily they delete my posts claiming they are spam. There has NOT been a day I do not get one or another post taken down for the same reason!

I was harassed, threatened and public shamed and Nextdoor left it up for over 3 weeks, refused to remove the posts. Nextdoor is political , censors speech and is like the old FB and the old Twitter. Nextdoor needs to be bought out by someone who does not censor speech and is not a communist.

You put information out about safety and because you are a colored person, you get reported and booted off a site. I thought it was a safety app for neighbors, apparently they feel they can kick people off for not agreeing with their white ideologies or their religion.
shadow banned by some backroom force exercising an opinion and not using any profanity, racism or names and still was put in the PC/Woke jail.
I am receiving notifications in my email: clarkdonna6304@yahoo.com, that I have missed 20 notifications but I do not use Nextdoor and I never have. I need someone to review this acct and call me as soon as possible.
