I went to the store to have my front brakes serviced and when I arrived for my appointment I wasn’t assisted for almost 30 minutes. The person at the service desk was very nice and accommodating. He came to tell me that my brakes would be fixed and it would cost approximately $250.00, which was fine. I then proceeded to wait for almost 3 hours while other vehicles came and left having had much more work done than I was having. I noticed the man Alfredo who was working on my car seemed to be taking a lot of breaks. My agitation must have shown because all of a sudden there seemed to be a flurry to assist me. Alfredo comes out to tell me I am all set, I say are you sure because I am going away for the weekend on a long ride and he says oh yes you are ok. He then says to me that as a courtesy he removed my back brakes to check on them and noticed a large amount of rust but told me just to let it work it’s way out. I said that seems odd but he said no it is normal, so since he is the expert I will listen. I leave with my car making noises and I have an understanding from Alfredo that I bring the car back in a week if it doesn’t stop. This noise continues on for days and it is now the 4th of July holiday weekend and I can’t bring my car in as they are closed. On Sunday the 6th of July I decide to bring my car back for service and plan to leave it overnight. As I go to drive out of my parking lot, my foot literally slams off the brake pedal thrusting toward my face and my car completely stops moving. Now my car (my only form of transportation) becomes disabled I have to have it taken to another repair shop to be fixed and when the mechanic takes off the tire to inspect the brake work which was supposedly looked at, my rear brakes fall to the ground in pieces. The mechanic informs me that if the mechanic from Mavis had even looked at my rear brakes he would have seen this. Also due to the fact it took a lot of time and effort to remove the cover for the tire/brakes it showed it hadn’t been removed in a long time so no way had it been removed just a week ago. Also there was no rust whatsoever on my brakes and seeing as my car isn’t that old and has only 50, 000 miles I wasn’t surprised to see that. The mechanic actually took me in the shop to show me.
I then had to have my brakes repaired again but the mechanic took pity on me and gave me some financial assistance.
I was without a car though for 4 days which caused me to seek alternate transportation to work at a cost to me.When I did reach someone at the Mavis “customer service” line – Joel to be exact he was extremely argumentative and told me that if his technician said he looked at my car he did and when I questioned him about the mechanics finding that there indeed was no rust whatsoever he said that is because as his technician pointed out the rust worked its way out which the mechanic said is impossible since there was no rust to begin with. I tried to explain this to him but he wasn’t interested in hearing my point.

I have been a mavis customer for a number of years and the service and prices are unmatched. I would recommend anything from tire purchases, to oil changes, to shock and struts repair. Mavis almost always has a deal going on, you'll definitely get more for your dollar.

I went online to schedule a NY state inspection for 4p on Friday. I get a call stating the inspector is only there from 10-2p. Pease fix your website or something. This is inconvenient and time consuming trying to reschedule around time that aren't true based on your website. It's unprofessional and not in good faith.

I purchased four tires. After the tires were replaced o noticed the emblem from my tire was missing along with the bolts which was closed/cap bolts . My car was not returned I the manner I dropped the car off. I was told by the service manager that the bolts were old so they threw them away which is not the case..

I went to Mavis Tire discount on Deer park in Long Island and ask store manager Carlos if I can get air into my tire. He was very rude and told me to go to Sunoco down the road.

While lifting my car, tech damaged my car by improper setting of the lift system.

Running boards were damaged. Asked nicely to have them replaced. District mgr Ellis approved them. Local store mgr Christy gave me the runaround until she left the store, over 2 months now. Here we go again. What's next.

Date of service and damage 4/18/2023

Every since they bought Tire Kingdom, it seems they are short handed and can't answer the phone in a timely manner. If they answer , you get put on hold. I called 3 times , waited 7 to 10 minutes, no one picked up. The same thing for their headquarters. I can buy tires at another tire dealer if this continues.

The store manager Tori Cook at the austell location girlfriend is posting on Facebook asking to pay people to go on Google and give a 5 star rating .

I don’t think thats fair to the other Mavis Tires employees at other locations if someone is paying for reviews at the austell location!

I purchased a tire and wheel alignment. When I drove on interstate the brake assistance showed inoperable. I had to take my car to the dealer. Another Mavis location stated they could not fix it.

They destroyed my trucks rack boots when they did the alignment . Went back they put a plastic zip tie on the broken boot end and said it was fixed after having the truck for 5 hrs. Go to Costco or they will do dangerous stuff to your car

Store 661 / front service desk knowledgeable but lacks understanding of patience and how to speak in a customer friendly tone. Mavis is among multiple options for tires and service. Not overly impressed with the customer experience.

I purchased a full set of Michelin Defenders. I ALWAYS purchased road hazard - have for 30 plus years. I called 3/11, left my #, & never got called back. Horrible customer service. Called again, 3/16, & was told I didn't buy the road hazard. I know that is a LIE! AND I have a dangerous tire on my truck! Does Mavis give a damn? Time will tell.

Failure to honor appointments over walk-ins. Nobody has time to wait needlessly when you have an appointment, poor business decision. I wouldn't have had a problem if I was advised in advance, I would just shown up early and walked in. Perhaps add a this notification to the appointment process and you won't have unhappy customers.

Sorry, but this is NO complaint; this is a commendation on Trevor-the Mgr @ 4100 Bostpn Rd, Bx, Ny & his crew of knowledgeable & helpful professionals. Each time I've visited the Team, they have been tremendously candid and courteous with me. Guess that's why I come for their expertise.
As before mentioned, this is Not a complaint but a 'Thank You to the crew & team of Trevor, Mercedes, Franklin & his top notch mechanics!'
Thxs for getting me back on the road again!

Definitely notice that the Mavis in White Plains, NY ALWAYS tells me my brakes need fixing, which is why I came here to read other comments and confirm their tactics are not just my imagination. I did need 4 new tires per my regular mechanic, so I get the best price for them at Mavis. Sure enough, even though my regular mechanic told me the brakes are low but okay for a little more, the Mavis tech says they are 99% worn out! I tell him, as I always do, "Thanks for the tip, I'll have my regular mechanic check it out." And, they ALWAYS have the same $59.99 "brake special." What's so special about that if it's your regular price?! When I was pricing around the tires, another operator from a smaller business was even kind enough to give me some warnings and tips of what to ask about and be wary about with them. But they did beat out his tire price, which is the only reason I went there. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and reinforcing what I already suspected!

Went into Fairmount NY branch. Told me it would be a hour hour and a half at most since they weren't busy. 3 hours later I get in my Escape and leave only to hear a rubbing noise coming from the back of my truck. They put the wrong dam tires on my vehicle. Lots of apologies by the manager. A hour later they got the correct tires on. Isn't tires what they do for a living? SMH

Took car to Mavis Newburgh for tires and an alignment. When i picked up me car it made a horrible screeching noise. Turned off car, called attendant over and he told me my motor mount was bad. Hmmmm, how did he know that? We opened the hood and he proceeded to show me. Well before he had a chance to hit the brake and accelerator, i told him to stop. My engine was leaning to one side. My motor mounts were not bad they sheered right off. The block. At that point another fellow came out to say he noticed the mounts were broken when he worked on the car. The engine could have fallen out right there in the parking lot if we drive it.
Spoke to manager he said he would review the tapes. But of course they revealed nothing out of the ordinary concerned with the way my car was handled while in the garage.
I asked to see the tape he was referring to but was not granted the opportunity. Subsequent calls were not returned.
If these guys are such professionals why would they let me drive out of the establishment with an obvious broken motor mount. Maybe they were hoping i would get far enough not to be their problem. Or maybe i get killed in an accident .

I HAVE MOVED MY BUSINESS TO C&C TIRE. YOU SHOULD TOO

I went to mavis in rome ny because i had a flat tire. They serviced my car in a hour and the manager was nice.Come to find out they took the drivers side tire off, when the flat was on the passengers side and they put a old used tire in replace of my brand new tire on the drivers side.they did'nt fix the passenger side tire, and i ended up buying a new one.All four tires matched and you can tell that the drivers side is not the original. Scammed in rome ny.

Mavis discount tire LINDENHURST. STAY AWAY!
Could you imagine that they lost key from my car's remote control.(I don't have to remove the key from remote to start my car but i guess they didn't knew that-shame) First they start looking for it, then call me back that they didn't found anything, then they said mechanic put back the whole thing into the cup holder, and when i finally came to ask them in the face what's going on they said, that when they got the remote from me to pull in my car into the shop there wasn't the key at all.Such a joke but i wasn't filling like want to laugh. don't use them they suks!

I went to Mavis Tire and they told me I need to replace my driver arm control which is causing shaking. I didnt replaced it because I was in rush. Next two weeks later I went there again and told them I want the job done. They replaced the part but the car is still shaking. They change the part for nothing. After they replaced the part they said, also I need to replace the tie rod ends. Hello! That was the problem. My driver arm control was in good condition!

I went to the Mavis in Poughkeepsie, NY near Price Chopper off of Rt. 9. I went there because the one mechanic I trust is down in Fishkill and I didn't have the time to take it to him. This the third experience with Mavis where I take my car in and within a week, something else goes wrong with the car. It happened once with my wife's Volvo and twice with my Hyundai. Let me talk about my two experiences with the Hyundai. Last summer I had brakes done. The job was fine but within the week I started having a rumpling or shuddering whenever the car went over 50 mph. That lasted a year. They were really pushing for me to have the alignment but I refused. Maybe that was why. But my point is, if it was ok before going in, how did it suddenly start acting up within the week the brakes were done? Second visit: Two weeks ago I bring it in to have two new tires put on. The guys at the desk are courteous and friendly. But once the car gets in the shop, you realize how all of that was just phony crap. I emphasize to them I don't want to hear about any other problems the car is having I just want two new tires put on and an alignment. I say this because I know places like Mavis are known for wanting to fix everything else they can get the owner to agree to, even if it doesn't need fixing. I walk across the street to the post office to get my mail and I get a call on my cell. I pick up. It's the mechanic. He says my brakes need replacing and that when he was taking off the tire, one of the wheel bolts broke off. He said he just touched it. (right!) He then says that he can fix it for only $10 if I have the brake job, otherwise it will cost $60 to fix! I'm thinking, is this guy real? Dude, you broke the freaking thing, now go fix it! But no, the customer is a dog at this place and is milked for all he can be milked for. So I tell him, hey, I don't want the brake job because I know it doesn't need a freaking brake job. He says...OK. I walk back after getting my mail, and my car is on the rack and the food truck is outside and everyone it seems is outside eating something having a nice break. I'm cool with that, it was around lunch time, anyway. My car gets fixed and I pay the cash. And that rumpling sound is now gone that I believe resulted from their crappy work from the prior summer...BUT...now I hear what sounds like a rattling or metal pinging coming from the left rear wheel that wasn't there before. It's been two weeks now. I regularly commute into the city and can't afford to be without a car. The sound in the back has grew worse to the point that it sounded like a rattle snake...now in addition...there is the sound of metal rubbing...AND, I only have 3 bolts still, holding the tire left rear tire on because the idiot broke the forth one taking the tire off and thought nothing of fixing it without wanting to charge me for the work. How do places like this stay in business. They're as bad a lawyers nickel and diming their clients. Never again Mavis...Never again...I won't be tempted by the convenience of taking my car to you when I'm in a jam. Both the quality of your work and your attitude toward the customer (not the front desk) absolutely, resolutely SUCKS...

These people are either incompetent scam artists or both. Last year I went there for a nail in my tire. They told me my rim was cracked and wanted to sell me a rim for $175. I said no I would go to a junk yard. Today, exactly a year later I was stupid enough to return to these dump. I once again had a nail in my tire and was told again that my rim was cracked. Is this a coincidince or a scam. He also told me I had nothing in my tire, but when I got home I noticed a plug in my tire. I went back there and asked why did you put a plug in the tire when there was nothing in it. He denied putting the plug in, he said I must have had someone else put it in. Why was he lying about the plug? I think this is totally wrong to do to people. Hopefully these people at Mavis will get a taste of their own medicine. WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND!

I am a service manager for a fuel oil company. I deal with customers day in and day out. I know the value of a customer and treat every customer with respect. I wish I can say the same for your manager Ray Permiceo located at 1742 Sunrise Highway in Bayshore NY. On August 24, 2010, I came into Mavis to purchase four new tires. Ray took all the information needed. While I was waiting my office called me and informed me that we have Enterprise for our fleet and I should let Mavis know. I immediately told another person at the desk. They said they will be with me shortly. Mean while, they took my car in to replace the tires. I did not see them pull the car in. After about twenty minutes, I went back to the service desk to remind them about Enterprise. The gentlmen behind the desk, aplogized and gave me forms to fill out. Mean while, the tires have been changed on the car. Your manager came in from the garage, his co-worker informed Ray Permiceo about Enterprise. With that, Ray very sarcastically ask me, "why didn't you tell me this before I we put the tires on the car, do you know what a pain in the [censor] it is to fill out these forms and get approval for? I tried to explain to him that before the car went in I tried to speak to someone. Ray would not let up. He embarrassed me in front of a whole store of customers. I was there for almost two hours. As it turns out, Enterprise does not cover tires. But I have had our service vans go to Mavis for wheel alignments, brakes and etc. I have informed our corporate office and what transpired. We will no longer be using Mavis for any services. This includes our entire fleet of service vans.

I had work done at Mavis in Patchogue, NY on Medford Ave. I had a front alignment done and two new tires and a front brake job. The [censor]s there can't do anything right. The mechanics look like high school students who don't know the first thing about auto repair. After waiting almost three hours I noticed this bad rubbing sound coming from the rear brakes. They over adjusted them. Then I told them when they wrote the repair order I wanted the new tires in rear. They did the opposite. I had to wait another 45min for them to correct everything Stay away from this place. New York State should revoke their license to do repairs on cars.
