Leeds Mattress Factory terrible mattress, deceptive practices. "wolf in sheep's clothing."

Purchased Mattress in August of 2018. I have Congestive Heart Failure and Suffer
from severe Back and Body Pain. I told Mr. Neil Leeds this. I wanted a Firm Mattress,
he encouraged me to purchase a Med. Firm Mattress. The Mattress is Defective and
terrible to sleep on. I cannot sleep comfortably at night on the Mattress. Thank God
I have a second Bedroom. Neil told me that I could return the Mattress on the day that I
purchased it. I Had a witness with me that can confirm my conversation with Neil. I
should have followed my first mind and refused to do business at his store. "I commented to him and my guest that there was no Customers in the store for the
two hours we were there. I now know why. I read some of the Customers reviews
on the Internet and they experienced some of the same issues with this store. He
moves around from locations to locations defrauding people. Thank God I only
spent $500.00. Many people spent $3, 000 for Fake Mattresses at his store.

Leeds Mattress Factory no one i can complaint to about a bad mattress they sold us.

Not more then two years we bought a $3000.00 mattress and in the pass six months my husband and i have been sleeping on the couch since we been having back paid every time we do sleep on that mattress. I have called several time to ask for a manager to speak with and no one will call me back. The bad part is that i continued to make payments and it's not worth it. The mattress is so heavy to turn every month the way the state to make it last or break evenly. This thing is a junk and i want to get some money back and return it to get a better one or some new coughes since the one we have, have turned into our new bed...

Leeds Mattress Factory Leeds mattress stores = frauds!

I have now spen t $1000 at the Leeds mattress store in North Hollywood only to be scammed and given the run around for the past two months. The manager there, BOBBY EVERETT lied to us, he sold us a used mattress that smelled like chemicals, ruining all of my bed linens, seeping into my clothing and onto my skin, causing a rash. When I tried to get a new mattress (and paid an additional $200 from the $800 inititally spent, to do so) I received the cheapest hard mattress I've ever slept on. The floor felt better to sleep on. I am still fighting with them to get a refund. BUYER BEWARE these people are crooks! As for Mr. Neil Leeds. We have called your phone number and left messages. What a joke. WORST COSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Dear Mr. Leeds
Here is a content of the letter i wrote complaining about the mattress i bought in your store.

In Response to a letter from 07/24/12 concerning the mattress inspection, which has been replaced under warranty on 08/15/2001 (GL20664)
I do not agree with the arguments given by the inspector, i consider them unfounded and unjustified. Year ago after moving, we had the same problem with the mattress which had the same defect. One year ago we had inspection which was done by the same person. He did not have objections to the bed, which is adapted for this type of mattress. This time after a year, (we did not change the bed), he has objections to the bed. I as an engineer absolutely disagree with the objections and i can prove this by using the laws of physics.
Regarding the mattress, it has been transported by a professional transporting company just like 3 other mattresses. We own 3 other mattresses for 4 years already and we never had any problems with them during and after the transport. Both mattresses used by us have factory defect, which appeared during the transport. We have not been biased during the purchase, that your mattresses require special type of transport like an "atomic bomb". After checking all the documents for purchase and all the flyers placed on the mattress, i did not find an instruction for special type of transport for those mattresses. Moving company transports mattresses thousands of times and always the same way. It’s unlawful to blame the client for breaking the mattress. At the end i want to note that the same defect has been approved year ago which proves that those mattresses have factory defect that appears during the transport.
After doing research online i found more information about this type of mattress. If it will be required i will assert my rights in court and i am able to prove my right based on the information which i have. I am sure that this will not be needed and you will replace my defective mattress for which I am asking.

Neil I tried calling your phone number after seeing how passionate you are about your customer service to discuss a problem I am having on a previous purchase. Your number has no voicemail. We purchased a $4, 000 tempurpedic from Leeds and are extremely happy. I don't understand why people leave these types of messages without going through all avenues of customer service first! Wrong!

I am Neil Leeds and I do answer all of my clients complaints.I never recieved any call from you.I am at [protected].The factory makes the beds and they are all new.There is time to time a small odor that comes from the foam that goes away after a few days.Your comments to try to hurt our company are not correct and we our proud that with 26 stores and thousands of customers a month we hold a better business rating of A +.That is where your complaint should go if you really do have one.That is why they call it the better busisness bureau.They help if you have a problem with a company.Instead you use a complaint board to slander our company.We will continue to go after people whom may be our competition and are trying to use social media to steer our new clients away, but if you are really a client I have always directly helped my clients.We do not use fraud in our dealings with you.I think you have abused this complaint board in a wrong way.I will be waiting for your call if you really do have a problem.I can share with this complaint board of all the wonderful things leeds mattress stores does do, like go above and beyond what is fair and lose money doing it..all in the name of keeping our clients happy.We always Will.Happy Holidays.Neil G Leeds

Leeds Mattress Factory Poor customer service after purchasing a bed

I had the worst customer service every.
First, I was very happy with the bed I chose.
Second, Bob was great with his customer service at first, when purchasing the bed.
I was purchased the bed on Monday 3/15 and was told by Bob/Rep that I would receive a call the day before deliver which was Thursday 3/18.
I never received a call from the warehouse on 3/17 which was the day before the deliver date.
So I called the office on 3/17 and left a message.
No one returned my call the following day 3/18 so I took it upon myeslf, to call them during my lunch break.
Finally spoke to a rep/Ed and explained to him that I did not receive a call for my delivery.
After giving Ed all the details on my situation I asked if I could please have a time for deliver that day 3/18 Thursday because I've been waiting a few day's for my deliver and my sister had took time off from work for this delivery. Also, told Ed that I've left several messages and no one returned my call.
Ed stated that he did receive the message but didn't return the call because it was for Bob. I then said but aren't you covering for Bob today? He said yes and said but that he doesn't work with Bob's customers only new customer's.
However, Ed said he would call the warehouse and check on why I haven't had my bed delivered or a call from the warehouse.
After an hour or so Ed finally called me back and said that he was unsure on why the bed was not delivered or why I had not received a call from the factory also, said that he will try and have the bed delivered by tomorrow because, the is ready for delivery.

I called Ed back to ask if the bed is ready can he please have the bed delivered that night no matter how late I wouldn't mind.
So Ed said this is fine and said he would call me back.
Ed then called me back and said that wasn't possible.
I then said okay Ed since you have a relationship with the warehouse can you please call them to ask them for a delivery time so I or my sister could be home.
He/Ed said I don't have a relationship with the warehouse and that he cannot do it.
I said you have to be kidding me you just called them.
He said if this is such and urgency you should rent a truck and pick it up yourself.
I said you are being unprofessional and he said you are being unprofessional and hung up on me.
Finally, waited for the delivery people to call me like Ed had said earlier in the conversation, 7:30pm came around and I asked my sister to call Ed and let him know that no one called for a scheduled time of delivery.
He said he will call the warehouse and see what the problem is and will call back.
10 minutes to closing time which is 8:00 and Ed did not call us back.
So my sister called him back and let him know that we still didn't not get a time for delivery.
Ed told my sister that he was going to call the warehouse and see what is the problem. 8:00 pm came around and still no word.
I called the office and left a message on the office voice mail (because Leed's was closed by this time) letting Ed or Bob know that no one called us back from the warehouse and to please give me a call first thing in the morning on Friday 3/19.

Lastly, I waited until Friday at noon for Leeds office to give me a call and still nothing.
Again, during my lunch hour I took it upon myself to call the office and follow-up with the delivery time and date.
Spoke to Bob and let him know about the unprofessionalism of Ed and asked him if he could please help me with this issue.
Bob then apologized and said that he does not know why Ed could not help me if he would have helped me I would have received my bed that day 3/19. Bob also stated that he will never have Ed cover for him and will report him to Corporate.
Also, Bob also explained that the delivery date was scheduled for 3/19 anyway and I said oh I guess that was a misunderstanding on my end.
But then Bod said well why didn't I have my bed by today?
He said sorry about that and that he would compensate me with a mattress protector and a great deal for a family member or friend in the future.
But, said that he can't have the bed delivered that day and, for sure have the bed delivered on Saturday 3/20 first thing in the morning. I said this is fine and thank you for all your help.

I did finally get a call that night from the warehouse giving me a time slot 3-6 time for delivery Saturday 3/20.

I waited until 7:30 for the delivery and still no call no show.
I called Bob that night and left a voice mail message by this time Leed's was closed.
Sunday 3/21 12:30 in the afternoon and did not get a return call from Bob.
Took it upon myself to call again, spoke to he/Bob said let me call the warehouse and see what the problem is and he never apologized for not returning my call.
Finally Bob called me back and said that he doesn't understand what the problem is.
I let Bob know anyone at this point would be livid and asked to have my money and that I will be at the office before they close to have my money returned to me for the bed.
He said come on in but that he will be leaving at 5:00pm.
Went to the store and Bob asked how I was doing and I said not so well.
He said sorry about that and goodbye.
Neil I want to let you know that I'm very disappointed in your business.
I was hoping to have a new bed to sleep in and instead I had a roller coaster of unprofessionalism and incompetency.
I have waisted my time with you business and now have to use up more time looking for a new bed.
Please let me know what was the outcome of Ed and was he reported to corporate?
Second request for information.

Leeds Mattress Factory Defective Simmons Mattress

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Mattress 2 1/2 years ago and it is defective. The sides are sinking in terribly while the center is hard and much higher in position. My parents purchased one as well and are having the exact same problem. I paid to have an inspector come and they told me that this was normal and claimed I had a stain as well which cancelled my useles warranty. There was no stain at all. Now I have to pay another $50 to have someone come out and tell me the exact same thing. I would never purchase a mattress from Leeds and / or Simmons. Neither one will honor the warranty. No wonder the Leeds stores are always empty.

Did you purchased a protective mattress cover for the mattress as well? Lots of people overlook the cover as "we dont pee in bed"... but buying the mattress cover is like buying insurance for the mattress.

If yuo spend $1k on a mattress, what's $50-$100 for insurance? I'd want $1k to last me ten years. The cover would guarantee it for you.

But it's true. If there is a stain on the mattress, you void your warranty. Worst part, the stain can be anywhere... even where you dont sleep, and it'll still void warranty.

Leeds Mattress Factory Defective mattress

I purchased the Simmons mattress in January 2007 at the cost of approximately $3000.00. It was fine for a few months but then the middle because hard and the sides soft...resulting in a mound in the middle and each side slanting outwards. It has resulted in many sleepless nights and sore backs for my husband and myself. I have called twice to ask for a repair or replacement. Each time they sent an inspector out to measure the mattress. Both times we were refused satisfaction because they said it was not bad enough and because there was a stain which voided our warranty (which was never given to us). I noticed the last time the inspector came out he didnt even measure the middle hump . Simmons referred me back to Leeds. Neither company is honoring their warranties.

I have been reading about several complaints online regarding the handling of complaints/defective mattresses/unhappy customers etc. having to do with Leed's Mattress store. I purchased a $1000.00 Simmons Beautyrest mattress and box spring from the North Hollywood Store in May, 2011. After approximately 3 months I began experiencing horrible back pain - so bad that it woke me up at night. I chalked it up to my body adjusting to the new bed. However, I am now 10 months into my new bed and it's worse then ever. While making the bed about two weeks ago, I noticed that one side of the bed is bowing out and appears to be collapsing, while the other side of the bed is perfectly straight up and down. Having read some complaint comments I am aware that a Leed's technician told another customer that "this is common". I am 47 years old and on mattress I have ever had for this short amount of time has bowed and collapsed. I am, however, going through the necessary steps of having a technician visit my house ($50 fee) to assess the mattress. I am hopeful that he/she sees the same thing I am seeing. Until that time I'm sleeping on the couch. Update to follow.

I Am neil leeds, and I guess pjs mattress thinks this is a advertising site for their company.I now wonder if this complaint was from them or a blogger from another mattress store.I pray that congress will passs new legislation on the blogging sites and use peoples ip addresses to bring them to court if they are breaking the law by using defamation to hurt their competition.I am here to help if this is a real client of leeds mattress stores at [protected]...Ps pjs I know you well, before I owned my company I worked for basett and stopped by your store.I think you should post on web sites that have been mentioned.I think you really show the community how unfair it is, that the webblogging you did, while you have no place in this complaint unless you wrote it.Neil Leeds

LEEDS MATTRESS STORES HISTORY
From humble beginnings, Mr. Leeds left school at age 14 to pursue work. His job experience went from a newspaper boy for the New York post to a gas station attendant at a Getty gas station in Queens. From that position he was offered a job on a mattress delivery truck where he first received an insiders look into the mattress business. After several years of the delivery business he felt very confident in his ability to sell mattresses. He then applied to the federated dept. stores in New York to sell in the furniture and mattress dept. He landed that position which opened the doors to a very rewarding career and opportunity to pursue his financial goals.

It was after several years of selling for the federated dept. stores that he decided to move west to California, to a warmer climate. There he went to work for Mattress Discounters, and Beautyrest Gallery where he received more training and experience in the mattress business. He then landed a job as a sales rep for the Bassett Bedding Company in which he called on 26 JC Penny stores in Southern California. After saving his money and taking loans, he decided it was time to pursue his own business. He was ready for the challenge and opportunity after many years of working for other people in the industry. So he presented the idea to his boss at the Bassett plant, in order to open a Bassett Bedding gallery, and so the idea was born.

He found his first location in North Hollywood in need of desperate repair, so he rolled up his sleeves and brought out his broom and cleaned up the property, within a few months he was ready for business. As time went on changes took place and Sealy, America's #1 mattress retailer, came to be his primary supplier with Simmons and Spring Air and the Bassett Bedding Gallery became the Leeds Mattress Stores.

He chose his own name to reflect what he believed in, giving back to the community and dealing fair with all of the people he serves. He used his name because he felt that if you believe in what you do then you should be proud to put your name on it. Today you can still find him outside sweeping his stores clean, helping his delivery men unload the trucks and helping customers select new mattress sets.

i can directly relate to the person who filed this complaint. i recently had a similar experience w/ leeds.
the customer service was horrible and they charged me a delivery fee for replacing a defective mattress. now i will have to take the time and file a complaint w/ the better business bureua.
i will never do do business w/ leeds again.
