I am very upset to find I have been unknowingly paying for VIP service for In The Company of Dogs for over 40 months. The company has been charging my credit card without my knowledge or consent. After some research, I see many people are complaining about this same issue. I am requesting a FULL reimbursement of all funds paid for a VIP account or I will start a class action suit against the company.

Beware of InTheCompanyOfDogs: A Scam Targeting Elderly Customers
This company, InTheCompanyOfDogs, is a total rip-off! My mom, who's getting up there in years, has been paying $14.95 a month for some kind of "VIP" thing for almost a whole year now. And get this - she hasn't gotten a single thing in return! I only just noticed the charge on her last two statements, and I'm livid. It's clear to me that this company is just taking advantage of older folks like my mom. It's disgusting!

Don't even think about buying from InTheCompanyOfDogs. Their customer service is practically non-existent. I had some items I wanted to return, but when I tried to do so, I was met with nothing but frustration. Even though I paid for the items, it took them five to six weeks to process my refund. That's just not right. I couldn't find anyone to help me, so I ended up keeping the items because I was afraid I'd never see my money or the items again. Needless to say, I won't be shopping with them again.

I called customer service a bunch of times and finally got through to someone who said they would request a return label for me. They said it would take 10 days to arrive. I asked why they couldn't just email it to me, and they were like, "Oh, okay, what's your email?" I was like, "Don't you have it already with my order information?" But they found it eventually. Now I just have to wait and see if the label actually shows up.

I ordered a leather sherpa furniture cover for my couch, hoping it would be a great addition to my home. However, when it arrived, I was disappointed to find that it seemed poorly made. I decided to return it, but was shocked to find out that it would cost me $75 to do so. I opted for the cheapest, snail mail option, but it still seemed outrageous to me.
I was surprised that the company didn't offer any flat rate corporate shipping options for their customers. Instead, you have to cover the costs of shipping yourself, at the rate you get at the post office or UPS. This was frustrating, as I felt like I was being penalized for wanting to return a product that didn't meet my expectations.
In the end, I decided to stick with Amazon for my future purchases. Their shipping is easy, free, and predictable, which makes the whole process much more enjoyable. While I appreciate the effort to support smaller businesses, I don't think I'll be using InTheCompanyOfDogs again anytime soon.
Unprofessional and Unreliable: My Disappointing Experience with InTheCompanyOfDogs
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with InTheCompanyOfDogs. I mean, don't get me wrong, I was excited to order from them at first. But man, was I in for a ride. First off, their customer service is just plain rude. Like, I get it, you're busy, but come on, have some manners. And don't even get me started on their shipping. It's like they're using snails to deliver their packages. I ordered months ago and still haven't received my stuff. And when I asked for tracking info, they acted like I was asking for their firstborn child.
But that's not even the worst part. They sent me the wrong sizes, told me products were out of stock forever, and then shipped the same item. Like, what kind of nonsense is that? And don't even bother trying to get a refund or exchange. It's like pulling teeth.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend buying from these guys. There's just no integrity within the ranks of the humans working there. Save yourself the headache and go buy somewhere else. Trust me, it's not worth the mayhem.
SCAM CHARGES when you order
This company is very sly with scams. They make you think you can get a "deal" that ends up placing you into SCAM that charges "DUES" monthly. So let's say you order something for your pet that costs $50.00 you get a supposed "deal" of free shipping LOL NO you end up PAYING more for the piece because they immediately start to change you a monthly "DUES" of $14.95.
So that $50.00 item is actually costing you $50.00 PLUS $179.40 in DUES for the whole year and every year after that until YOU notice the charges and investigate. This is the largest SCAM I have ever seen.

I have a customer for 15 years the catalog when I first became a big supporter of yours my service dog activities were enjoyed at time because there was numerous items ordered from your catalog what happened to your huge selections of various toys that made training for my service dog fun one in particular a yellow/ blue plastic rifle that came with big yellow / blue foam feather weight rings that were placed on an ejection holder attached to rifle that toy gave my dog such
excitement when the big ring was like a Frisbee now I can't find any activity toy online or in catalog. What has happened to your company I am a disabled veteran with limited mobility but was always able to find something in your catalog that gave my dog and exercise and fun at the same time. I recommend I T C O D to so many others vets and other pet lovers, some even ordered the same for their cats. I was shocked to see my dog get so excited with that toy, at times he would bring it to me waking me up by placing it in my bed. Even my neighbors dogs came to join in the play time. Even military dog trainers ordered it for their dogs. That a genius idea At the dog park strangers to me to get your information to order the same toy and wanted to see what else was available in catalog or online.today you only carry stuff toys. Our fur babies need excerise and fun toys. So many pet lovers approached me at the park as if I was a salesperson for your company. Now you guys don't even carry a Frisbee or a variety of ball toys. Are you going out of business I would sure like to get an answer or information as to how to obtain activity toys.

unauthorized VIP credit card charges
From what I can read of complaints against this company, I have been the victim of a total in-your-face fraudulent act. Monthly "VIP" charges against my credit card in the amount of $14.95. No idea for how many months and am presently going over archives. Only Company of Dogs agent with whom I could speak after several phone tries, was a man who sounded to be in Asia and who could not come up on his end with "any charges in the amount of $14.95". I have contacted the Attorney General offices of CT and MA based on two different addresses given by this company. I plan to file a complaint with both state government departments. My credit card company has taken the matter on as fraud and is investigating all charges against my account made by this company. A debacle one need not experience. In the Company of Dogs kept my credit card account information in their files, something I would never have approved.
Desired outcome: Full refund of all charges. Written confirmation that credit card and personal data has been deleted.
VIP Club
I ordered one pair of booties to protect my now deceased dog's feet. I was somehow joined up with some kind of VIP function that auto-charged me every month. I had only ordered one thing, once for my dog, who is now deceased. I had no idea what the VIp Club was, etc. and have never ordered anything since.
I should not have been signed up for this VIP Club ever. I would like a refund for any auto-charges that occurred since the initial order, which was for one pair of booties that sadly, were used once anyway.

They trick you into joining their "club" for $15/month
There's a reason this company has over 100 reviews on yelp and they are rated as 1 star. They are extremely dishonest, particularly about how they trick people into signing up for their "club" at $15 a month. They offer you a shipping rebate and 10% off when you place your order and join their mailing list, but you are actually also joining their "club" for $15/month. And if you read other reviews for this company you will see i'm not the only that fell for this little ruse. At a minimum, they should know people are signing up for this by accident and change their site to make it more clear. The fact that they dont do that validates my assertion that they're doing it on purpose.

#da1256 - animals matter nest
We ordered this item two months ago and it was supposedly in stock. We never received it and have sent several emails inquiring about the status of the order. It has constantly been on backorder and we requested a substitution. The company refused to substitute for a different item and would not let us cancel the order. The cost of the bed is $278.26. Today we went out and purchased a different bed due to lack of responsiveness from this company. Subsequently, I was on the phone with several departments in this company for more than two hours today - no one would cancel the order and they gave us some excuse that the order was processed but could provide no ship date. We want the item cancelled immediately. We went online and searched for customer complaints on this company and there are a multitude of similar complaints.

5 panel gate arrived today with one panel broken. Called customer service. I offered to send photos. They told ME to return it (never offered a return label) and wait at least 4 weeks for a replacement! They should have sent a replacement immediately and wait for my return. Website says 100% satisfied and speedy returns! Ha! Also says BBB accredited but I checked and they aren't BBB accredited!

What a joke.
I signed up for the club, and never rec'd my rebate despite following their instructions to the T.
Submitted required forms on 31 Oct via email. Followed up with them first week of Dec since I'd still not rec'd my rebate which was to have been sent no later than 3 weeks.
Was told my call would be escalated even though they had rec'd my email, and I'd be called back within 48 hours...SERIOUSLY?! Of course, did not receive a call back.
I've spent wayyyy too much time fighting with them over a few bucks.
I've also cancelled my membership, and, if further charges appear on my credit card, I will dispute them and will file a claim with the BBB.
duplicate charge
I ordered two rugs and was charged $100.89. I received the rugs two weeks ago. Today I received an email saying my order was shipped today and my credit card was charged again. I immediately called customer service and talked to someone who said they could not help me and transferred me to someone else. The someone else said they could not help me and transferred me again to a supervisor named Amy. After looking at both orders, she determined it was my fault. I told her I only placed one order and had not been on the website since that order was placed. She insisted it was my fault, and when I received the second order, I could return it for credit but I would have to pay return shipping because it was "my fault." I told her I would never order from them again, and she said "OK."
In The Company of Dogs is a great example of how not to treat customers with a problem. How companies like this continue to operate is beyond belief. I admit to not looking at reviews, and because of that I am now waiting for a refund on a duplicate order the shipped and charge twice. We refused the second order and now after 2 weeks they are telling us it takes a few weeks for them to process our refund and charging us a restocking fee.
This is why people are so disgusted with companies that do not care about the consumer.
Please continue to let this company know that they are not a company you want to do business with.

I have no client number. Why am I being billed $14.95 monthly for "vipclub"? What am I supposed to be getting for this monthly fee? Late shipping / not being reimbursed for return shipping
Purchase 2 boxes of D14645 in early December 2017. Did not receive cookies in time for Christmas and had to purchase retail sore items. Merchandise arrived 12/30 - 5 days after Christmas. Spoke with representative and they said return items. Mail back items (tracking # [protected] 93) and was charged $12.89 shipping. Another call and you representative said I would be reimbursed for my shipping. When I received my credit card statement I was not reimbursed for shipping. Calling you guys go me "we don't reimburse for shipping. The items arrived late and could not be used as gifts. These items were not shipped to me until 12/22 which make it impossible to have for Christmas gifts. I would like my shipping costs refunded.
check your pricing - customer service worst ever
Received a large GC as a gift for a new puppy. This can't be accepted online, so you have to call. This takes FOREVER. 1st time I ordered, half of what I ordered wasn't available after I placed order. So they refunded me with a new GC that was $9.11 LESS than what it should've been. I called and they acknowledged, and said they would send me a new GC. Never happened. I just called now to place my final order and use up this GC and be done with them. Call took over 18 min for 3 items. Rep was rude, condescending and constantly got the ordering # and my CC # incorrect. His total was different than mine, and he argued that I was wrong. ! I asked him to look it up... and lo and behold, 2 of my items were on sale and he was trying to charge me double. He then told me my CC declined and acted like I was a criminal. He had the #s wrong. I don't trust this company. I will never order from them again. BUYER BEWARE... they will charge you what they want if you don't know the price. AND after they take your money, they will tell you the item isn't available and offer you a refund less than you paid. Watch everything you do with this company.
return of previously used item
They are giving me the runaround about returning a dog Cam that arrived to me used. Lies from the staff as well as supervisors, I wish I had read the reviews before buying! All I want is to return it and get my money back... why all the lies? The Cam has a code and someone who had the code could use it to see in my house! Dangerous and irresponsible of the company!
Returning a dog bed
I ordered the fur fighter half circle shaped dog bed. None of my three dogs would go near it. I put it outdoors to sun and air, still no deal. I never took the tag off. They okayed the return but did not provide a return label. I hauled it up to UPS where I was told it would take $100 to return it. (LARGE bed, $249).
I came home and called customer service. They said they don't provide return labels that can deduct from the refund. I haggled with them and they eventually said they'd pay half of the cheapest method possible back. I told them I will never shop with them again. Potpourri has 18 catalogs and they haven't figured out better customer service?
I wanted a return label the same cost that it would take them to ship it, and deducted from my refund. Absolutely not was their reply.
