IKEA overcharged, changed recipe, long wait

I visited your sacramento store last weekend with my mother. we are both remodeling out homes. I purchased some shelf brackets which were marked on clearance for 1/2 off because they were discontinuing them. I was charged full price at the register, and did not realize it until I was home which is 50 miles away from your store.

second, sounds silly but I used to buy your chocolate bars by the box when I would visit because you used to carry high quality chocolate which I used for several family recipes through out the year. fortunately I only purchased one this time. you have changed your recipe completely, using cheaper ingredients. non fat milk powder, sugar and cocoa powder have replaced the first and are lesser ingredients on the nutrition label. I will no longer be purchasing your low quality chocolate.

Third, we often eat in the café. the line was insane! we spent 45 minutes in line just to see that the desert and salad counter was not stocked and empty, with only on lady at the line serving food, and other workers refusing to help with bad attitudes.

I may no longer visiting your store due to these issues.

IKEA merchandise pick-up

Order # 1116003-CFIQJ

22 Feb 2019 :
Purchased merchandise on your site.

25 Feb 2019:
(a) I called and asked when I could pick it up.
(b) I was told that merchandise was at store No. 1 but...
(c) that it could not be picked up at store No.1.
(d) makes no sense.

26 Feb 2019:
(a) Called again and was told that the merchandise needed to be sent to the Main Warehouse in another town.
(b) that it would take 1 to 2 days to get there, and
(c) then I could pick it up.

For me it's an inconvenience and to IKEA it is a costly proposition.

What can you do to help and resolve this ?

IKEA food service

I went to the automated machine that lets you register for Ikea discounts, etc. It gave me a card and a receipt to use for a purchase. The purchase was buy one ice cream cone and get one free. I had my 2 daughter family with me which includes my tow grandchildren. I went to the counter and showed your employee my card and the printout that stated the first time you purchase a ice cream cone you get the one free. She told me it was not good for this offer. Since it was only a $1.00, I did not make a deal about it. When I thought about the principal of it, I decided to return and ask for my $1.00 back. The young girl at the counter said she would have to get a manger it order to give me a refund. First that is bad policy not to allow your employees who screwed up in the first place not to give refunds. She was on the phone I assume trying to reach a manager. Next thing I know she is walking away from the counter toward the customer service area. She returned and told me it would be most likely another 2 to 5 minutes. When I saw a man walking near the counter, I ask the girl if he was the manager. She said he was and I approached him and said I have been waiting for my refund for about 15 minutes. He than said there is no way you have been waiting that long since I was just informed about 5 min ago. This was yelled at me from a 10 foot distance in front of my grandchildren, daughter, son in law and husband. Needless to say I was not happy but kept my cool unlike your manager. He proceeded to go behind the counter where they had just placed slices of pizza on the counter. He had a long, untrimmed red in color beard. First thing I thought was I will never eat there again. I am sure pieces of his beard was found in someone's pizza. He handed the young girl the $1.00 and she she was sorry and handed my the money. Not once did your manager make any effort to make me feel like a part of your family. That is your slogan and part of your brand name. I ask for is name and they told me it was Scott. He needs to be fired or held accountable in some way. I am sure there is a policy that reflects how you treat your customers. I also was very disturbed that my family has to witness the effort for Scott to intimidate me. I have been shopping at IKEA since it as built back in the early 90's. As a dedicated customer that has never been treated like this by any other employee that represents your brand with integrity, kindness and knowledge. I feel I should receive something for even taking this time to let you know my feelings about the service or lack of service I received. I would appreciate a phone call or email response. Phone [protected], email [protected]@fedex.com. My cashier ID is [protected]. This took place on Sunday 2/3/2019 at 13:37. Store # 152, Reg #87, Trans # 107, Thank you for your time. J. Brian Dale

IKEA mismanagement and collusion with merchants against customers in ikea kuwait

Dear Sir/Madam

Greeting, during all sales promotions conducted in IKEA Kuwait, it was very clear obvious that there is mismanagement, collusion and manipulation with dealers against clients. Most of sales products were booked by the sales people, or given from items by cartoons to their relatives/friends or dealers.
This not the first time that happened, even if you go in the same day of the sales in the beginning minute of the working day and ask for any item, they will say it is sold?
I saw the sales items was given to some people by dozen and cartons.
This situation cased now to have IKEA very bad reputation that IKEA company do fake sales and IKEA stuff using the promotion sales to gain more money and the management do not care about that.

IKEA restaurant

We have been attending the buffets at our local Canton, MI store ever since it opened, & since the first have noticed a decline in the variety & quality of the foods served therein, but this Friday night "YulBord" was a bad joke! After standing in line for one (1) hour, we find the buffet tables gone & we have to wait at serving stations to be served. The first five (5) stations were empty when we got to them, & there must have been another 100 people behind us. Other stations were partially empty with only 1 or 2 items left. The prep/serving staff didn't seem to have a clue as to what needed to be replenished or how much was needed. There were several items we never did get. The quality of the 2 types of salmon was much poorer than what we had at prior buffets. If this is the type of service coming in the future, we just had our last meal at IKEA!

IKEA installation furniture

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Home Stores

The issue that I have experienced was: My name is Madalina Marinica (contact no [protected], e-mail address Madalina.[protected]@yahoo.com) i recently moved back to my home country to buy an apartment and i decided with my husband that most of the furniture to be from ikea bucharest România. Therefore the last receipt we paid like 2 weeks ago it was 9.900 ron containing 2 lookers. When the sales associate made for us the receipt and we scheduled the day for installation i mentioned that is one building under construction for the employees to come between 9 to 2 pm, he confirmed to me that is fine. Well today in the morning the employees called us, we guided them to the address and here started all the issues. Firts of all they talk with bad attitude to us that they cant work bcz is to much cold(yes right bcz its winter.)and they said that they will go. My husband call ikea office from bucharest and they contacted the employees from our apartment to stay and to install. From this moment they started to find any reason like they dont have the photos to install that again its cold etc and they called again them manager that was telling them to not start the work until he will arrange with the customer service from ikea. In this time the employees were absolutely incredible :talking in very bad way(pronouncing just "my dick, in my dick") for ur credibility i have recorded so i can send if is required. Then a lady from ikea customer service called me to tell me abt this issue, i said for her that i am very sorry but i inform the sales associate for this and he insured me that its ok plus is not mentioned in the contract abt any condition or temperature in the flat and i also inform her abt the behavior of the employee and how they were talking and she said:"if u will repeat for me this i will close the line" and i said for her no need for her to hung up the phone bcz i will close since she dont have any solution.i cant believe that in this way the employees of ikea are working, yes we know well that its cold outside bcz its winter but this doesn't mean we have to stop the work bcz we are not in the mood like the workers that came to my flat and talking in a very bad way, jumping in the flat, stepping over the wall and the furniture.

It occurred on: 3/12/2018

I would like to be sent a responsible and respectful team to install the lookers and apologize from the customer service department.

I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply back via this email account.

Yours faithfully,

Madalina Marinica

IKEA goods not received

Order #[protected]

Order originally placed 9.10.18.

Received an email stating order then delayed till 13.11.18.

Order still not received as of today. I have spoken to TOLL multiple times who originally said it was on its way then said it was damaged and then said it was returned to Ikea 22nd November (Con Note # [protected]) and signed by Mickheal.

I have tried to call Ikea 3 times and each time have been on hold for more than 5 minutes.

I have not received a response to any emails since the 15.11.18 which I consider very unprofessional and has now led me to make an official complaint.

As a frequent shopper at Ikea I have found this experience extremely disappointing. I live in a rural area and depend on online shopping for many retailers, Ikea being one of them.

I would like this addressed as a matter or urgency please.

IKEA sti shipping company is unreliable!!

6/22/2018 Original order placed for kitchen: [protected]
8/2/2018 Delivered. Counter top was missing
8/13/2018 Reordered counter top: 159-[protected]
9/27/2018 Counter was delivered to STI in Roseville, MN: Ship ID BV986100
11/4/2018 In spite of several calls to IKEA Customer Service and STI I still did not have my counter so I cancelled it!

We live in a small town and I understand shipments must be combined but STI had our countertop for 39 days which is unacceptable. I would not order anything from IKEA in the future unless they changed their shipping company.

IKEA delivery of my order

ORDER # [protected]
ORDER DATE: 10/14/18

I ordered 2 large bookcase units on October 14, 2018 and was given a delivery date of November 8th, with the understanding that the delivery company would call me to verify delivery date and time.
During Tracking of my order, I found that my order had arrived at the local delivery company on October 24, 2018. I called IKEA regarding my order and was told that the delivery service STI/CMI would be contacting me. They also called the company regarding the fact my order had been sitting there since the 24th, and the company couldn't explain why it was still there and would contact me. That was a week ago!
I contacted IKEA again yesterday (11/12/18) and was told that the company would be contacting me for delivery date and time...
I need my delivery before Thanksgiving and would appreciate someone getting on the delivery company to delivery my order! I am only 3 hours from Earth City, Mo.
I'm tired of hearing they will contact me and would really appreciate an actual call from the delivery service to schedule delivery!

Thank You

IKEA top mattress

My husband and I purchased a top mattress from the IKEA branch in Sofia, Bulgaria, item no. 2028132, a 140x200cm sized Tussoy top mattress with 8cm thickness, on October 13, 2018. It is now 7:13 am, Friday, November 2, 2018, as I write this.
In-store before purchasing, we asked the mattress consultant in that department that we intended to use it as a futon, without the use of a normal mattress. We were given the OK and no other advice was given.
We took it home and placed it on the ground and slept on it as a futon for two weeks. Two weeks later when I was changing the bed linen to be laundered, I saw mold, lots and lots of spots of green, black, yellow and brown molds of various sizes, especially on my husband's side, as he is heavier.

Since this is Bulgaria, it was better for him to complain about the issue using the Bulgarian language. However, IKEA in Sofia, being Bulgaria I suppose, is so run down that calling was futile. Phone lines kept ringing out and sometimes the calls were being cut off, meaning someone answered and hung up. When he finally got a representative and explained the situation to her, she said there was nothing that could be done.

We're very upset about this.
Firstly, we have been forced to sleep on the ground since we discovered the mold on October 29, 2018, and secondly, it states on the site and we were told by the consultant in the mattress department that mattresses can be returned within 45 days. The representative he complained to told him there is nothing that can be done about it.
He went further to complain about the situation to the Commission for Consumer Protection here in Sofia and they are also processing a complaint for us on their end with IKEA in Bulgaria, but it has already been 3 days and no response from IKEA yet.

After living in Japan and sleeping on a futon for almost 8 years on a wooden loft or on tiled or wooden floors, I have never had an issue with simply the futon and sheets- the same as I've used this top mattress here.
It is day 5 and we are sleeping on the hard floor with no response from IKEA yet.

Are we expected to take up money to purchase another mattress when IKEA here is at fault? Or do they expect us to sleep on mold and develop health issues? Is this giving us reason to sue IKEA for the development of potential health issues that could have arisen out of sleeping on this mold for the last 2 weeks, because God knows how long the mold has developed over that period of time? Do I need to go get a health check and file a lawsuit against the company?

This is preposterous and something needs to be done about this.
We want a full refund for the product so we can take our business elsewhere to more reputable companies who will attend to us the way customers are supposed to be taken care of.

IKEA wrongly suggested item by the shop attendant

I am a returning customer holding IKEA family card no. [protected]: I visited IKEA shop in Cairo, Egypt and asked the shop attendant to help me in locating the part number for a wash basin and its unit and he handed them to me on a piece of paper. I collected the items from the self service area and took them home. When I arrived home, I discovered that I was given the wrong part number for the wash basin. I contacted IKEA customer service immediately via the website and placed a complaint, also first thing next morning, I called the customer service and informed them about the mistake. I asked them if it would be possible to send me the correct one and collect the wrong item, but they refused. I had to go back same day to the shop to change the wrong basin, and asked the customer service to check their CCTV system, where they can be sure that I was standing by the needed basin and the part no. was handed over to me by the employee. The problem here: what is IKEA willing to do to recompensate its clients for such a mistake done by their employees. why would the client bear the consequences of the employee mistake?
I took the basin to my home, where I live in the third floor and have no elevator, I also took it down, and took the new basin also up.
I work around 2.5 hours away from IKEA and had to return the second day to the shop. Not only that I lost money, I also lost time. I spoke to the customer service in Cairo, who listened to my complaint and did nothing except for saying that they were sorry and that the employee's attention will be drawn to this mistake. In the end, I got nothing from them. I would appreciate it if IKEA HQ look into recompensating me for this mistake.
Best regards,
Mona Tadros

IKEA staff

I am complaining about staff of Ikea Australia in Tempe that was working 24th of October in Baby toys and staff area in the morning 10-11 am. I was carrying my sleeping newborn through baby staff area to collect some essentials for my baby. While i was walking just next to her she was throwing lots of heavy boxes to trolley and making so much noises there and my baby suddenly cried so loud as was very cranky doing her job. I can say that she just next to me and easily recognise the baby right next to her but she didn't care and respect us a customer. I strongly beleive that we are went into the one of the biggest furniture shop not someone's or her own shop without permission.
Her name on jacket was Clauden and asian lady. I have seen her there twice as i prepare staffs for newborn when was pregnant she was acting as boss over there not as a staff there to help through answering the questions so rudely and throwing things all around as she trying to fix things. So disappointed with her service and i do not think i am the one that recognise her as this bad

IKEA kitchen installation

We waited over a month for installation due to missing or broken pieces. Our installers Benjamin Soto and Javier Rosa were very professional and apologetic. This is our first kitchen remodel and it was a very stressful experience. We got little feedback from Valeria Rios the sales agent and felt very neglected by her and her supervisor. We have found that we only have about 15 inches between our stove and the upper cabinets which can be a fire hazard. Valeria Rios said there wasn't anything she could do. We are also still waiting for our rebates that were promised to us. We are pleased with our new functioning kitchen but wouldn't recommend IKEA PR due to the delays and lack of customer service.
Sincerely,
Carrie Newdall and Hector Ayala

IKEA plastic straws

On Friday oct 19 I visited ikea porta di Roma and was shocked to see a huge display of plastic drinking straws. While the globe struggles with plastic, while we are trying to get plastic out of our oceans I cannot believe that a company like Ikea is still selling them. Shame on you! Ikea clean up your act.
Thank you
Apparently m words were not enough to satisfy your complaint form. I received a message that if my complaint was too short it would not be read. So I am adding words but my complaint is simple and short. No more plastic straws please and thank you

IKEA replacement drawer

I have been trying to get a replacement drawer for my chest dresser for about one month. Every time I call IKEA's customer service, they are never able to give me a precise status on the shipping and progress on the case. Also, when connected to the local store from where my item will be sent, I never hear back from the local store either. They always mention they will call me back, but never did. This happened about 3 times already. I am very frustrated to have to insist on the follow-up on this matter.

It has been a terrible experience with IKEA. I need help to solve my issue, please.

IKEA complaint

First of all, thank you for your email acknowledging my frustration. I have been a happy shopper at Ikea for several years now but I would like to bring to your attention my hugely unpleasant experience over the last 6 months that has impacted negatively on my family and myself. I would also like to highlight the extremely poor customer service that I have received from the Kitchen Installation Service at Edmonton.

My journey started with Ikea contacting their design service. I first called and arranged this service on 05/03/2018 and made a payment of £40. After several failed attempts to organise an appointment, I eventually had a home visit arranged for 08/04/2018 at which point I was told that it would take 1 week to install my kitchen. After my kitchen was designed, delivery was initially scheduled for 18/06/2018. After the first day's work was completed on my kitchen, I realised that there was a problem with the design. I discussed this with the installer and also tried to contact Ikea leaving numerous messages every day but had no luck - nobody in Edmonton Ikea likes to answer customers directly!

I had to make a visit to the store (at my time and expense) to speak with someone on 24/06/2018. I then spent 6 hours in the store explaining the problems to Stephen Ucle (Commercial store Manager). I was not still convinced with the design. I had purchased the integrated fridge from Ikea but they did not have the right size panel for the range I had chosen to cover the fridge. So they decided that they were going to use a total of 3 panels and stick them on the back to cover it totally. I also had a corner unit which consisted of two units put together, not the one unit you would expect from a corner unit. I had no choice but to accept all these changes as I had already made payments to Ikea and felt that I had to live with the design.

After sorting the second design, Steve Lee (PMH Kitchen Installations) told me that the design measurements were totally wrong and that it would be illegal to use my gas cooker as the cupboard space was not big enough. He could not continue to work on my kitchen so he left the property.

I began to leave various messages / emails asking for the complaints department contact details but again, I had no reply until 03/07/2018 - at this stage, George Anna (Edmonton Kitchen Installation) had to visit my house to sort out the problems. She saw how unsuitable my living conditions were and also ordered new cupboard doors; the previously ordered (08/07/2018) ones were not suitable.

I received the last delivery on 12/07/2018 but was still missing items - this meant I had to make more phone calls every single day.

So between 08/04/2018 and 13/08/2018, I have experienced a catalogue of incompetence, including poor design, wrong parts being delivered, dates for delivery not happening, parts arriving without fitters, no dishwasher, no washing machine, no oven, not clearing the rubbish from my garden (totally ruining my grass), not collecting unopened boxes siting in my living room and still my kitchen was not completely finished until today's date.

I believe that if the service you provided doesn't meet certain criteria, then you're entitled to the following remedies under the Consumer Rights Act:

The trader should either redo the element of the service that's inadequate, or perform the whole service again at no extra cost to you, within a reasonable time and without causing you significant inconvenience.

Or, in circumstances where the repeat performance is impossible, or can't be done within a reasonable time or without causing significant inconvenience, you can claim a price reduction. Depending on how severe the failings are, this could be up to 100% of the cost, and the trader should refund you within 14 days of agreeing that you're entitled to a refund.

In light of this experience, I am not prepared to accept your offer, and I expect you to reconsider it, taking the above valuation into consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely,
Esra Hughes

IKEA horrible cashier experience

It was a pleasant experience whenever we visited IKEA, the staff were always friendly and helpful. On the 9th October 2018, I visited the shop with my mother and we picked out a customised bookshelf with doors. The lady that served us was pleasant and helpful. It is also our first time signing up for a membership on that day.

However, when we were at the cashier, the lady named Cindy Ngo was very rude and unpleasant. We made a $270 payment, and we showed our IKEA temporary membership card but she said the payment has already gone through and there is no way that we can get our points even after spending quite a bit. We told her it's our first time signing up for the membership so we didn't know the procedure as she didn't ask if we were a member. She said before we came to her, we should already know as it is written on the board.

She moved on with the next customer behind us and ignored our request. She did not advise us or attempt to address our issues, and we were left hanging.

It is a very unpleasant experience as we did not feel welcome as a customer despite just signing up for an IKEA membership.

Cindy Ngo is unhelpful and lacks competency. I will think twice in the future before going down to IKEA and will not recommend my friends to avoid such disappointment. Thank you.
