Edgars Fashion / Edcon shelley bra

I would like to lodge a very serious complaint. As in, I am right now so furious if I had another [censored]ing bra I would be burning this one in front of the store I bought it at.

A few months ago, I bought a set of Shelley bras at Edgars Paarl Mall. After hours of searching at Woolworths, Donna Claire and the other fancy one in the mall, I decide to go to Edgars. I've had an account there; I've bought my clothes, shoes and bags there back when I could still afford it; the quality has always been outstanding. Ah, and here is a set of two - beige and black, perfect. One for me, one for my mother. In the right size, and oh, the fabric feels fantastic - so soft and smooth.
I pay happily and go back home. At home, we fit them and they're PERFECT. So comfortable, so soft and yet keeps everything perfectly in its place. Great. But alas, the dream was not to last.
Within a week the first underwire popped out. Okay, fine. Push it back in, sew it closed.
And then again. And again. And again. And again.
And oh God, don't let the stupid things be washed - on the gentle cycle, in a pillow case, on their [censored]ING OWN - because then, all the underwire comes out at all possible points. Do you know that there are only four places on a bra where underwire can come out? Well, the last time I washed the black one, because the beige one's wiring snapped in half, while I WAS SITTING PERFECTLY STILL AT MY DESK, the wiring came out at THREE PLACES.
Three places that has been repeatedly sewn closed, with increasing aggression and stronger thread each time.
Saturday, the 11th of August, I sat on my bed and sewed the wiring back. It is now Monday morning the 13th of August and THE [censored]ING WIRING IS OUT AGAIN.
So I want to know: were these bras disposable, and Edgars just forgot to put that on the tag? While the idea of disposable underwear is probably a good one, I'm not willing to pay R300 for a set of two disposable bras. Also, IT SHOULD PROBABLY BE MENTIONED THAT THEY'RE DISPOSABLE AND SHOULD BE THROWN OUT AFTER THE FIRST WASH.
If they're not meant to be disposable but should only be hand-washed once every six months, mention that then.
Or if they were actually meant to function as actual bras, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the quality control.
The material is sagging, limp and completely stretched - this on a bra that didn't even stretch when I put on the first time.
The lace - stretchy - is frayed and stretched out. I would like to stress at this point that this is a piece of underwear I paid a lot of money for in the exact size that fits me PERFECTLY without being stretched beyond its limits.
It has never been washed in boiling water or acid.
It has only ever been washed on the "gentle" cycle of the washing machine, separated from everything else inside a pillow case.
And yet, here I sit at the front desk, with a piece of underwire that was sewn shut inside the pathetic, frayed piping on Saturday, sticking into my arm. I can only be grateful that it's not in the centre, and I haven't been impaled yet.
Here's a wild idea: maybe they shouldn't make the underwires out of [censored]ing RAZORBLADES - then they probably won't come out so fast.
Or perhaps they could employ some sort of quality control measures at the factories to check up on this sort of thing.

I am viciously unhappy about this.
I realize that whoever is reading this from Edgars' side probably doesn't care because you're either a man or you buy your underwear from Victoria's Secret and couldn't care less about middle-class people who have to save up to support a store like Edgars.
Well, this middle-class woman has had it with this enormously disappointing piece of [censored]. I've got a bra in my drawer that is so old I don't even know where we bought it. Its straps adjust themselves randomly but you know what? ITS UNDERWIRING IS STILL IN-[censored]ING-TACT.
The Woolworths one lost its wiring, which is why I went looking for a bra in the first place. Again, guess what. It lost its wiring after NEARLY FOUR YEARS. NOT TWO [censored]ING WEEKS.
I don't know what you plan on doing about it.
But I plan to complain until I no longer have a piece of underwiring sticking into my arm, popping out in public or snapping when I am sitting perfectly still.
If you don't want the middle classes supporting Shelley and Edgars, reply to this mail and say so. Then me and all my middle-class, unworthy patrons of your store will take our business elsewhere.
If you would like our continued support - because I may be the one complaining in writing but with me there are a whole squad of ladies with the exact same complaint about quality - then I suggest you do something.
I will continue to complain about this EVERY SINGLE TIME THIS STUPID WIRE COMES OUT BECAUSE UNLIKE YOU I WORK FOR MY MONEY AND DON'T HAVE ANY TO WASTE ON DISPOSABLE BRAS WITH RAZOR UNDERWIRING.

I am furious.
I want this solved.
Oh and why didn't I take it back the first time?
BECAUSE UNDERWEAR CANNOT BE EXCHANGED, COMPANY POLICY.

EMPLOY PEOPLE TO DO QUALITY CONTROL.
FIND A BETTER CHINESE SUPPLIER FOR YOUR WIRING AND MATERIAL.
CHECK UP ON YOUR MACHINES EVERY NOW AND THEN TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE NOT MANUFACTURING [censored].
JUST A FEW TIPS, FROM A VERY, VERY ANGRY CUSTOMER.

Good day

Yesterday while shopping around in Edgars brooklyn mall.My son's nappy bag got snatched out of my trolley along with I.D's cash & account cards.

I would like to express my dissapointment and disatisfaction on how the situation was handled by the manager & security my husband & I were just told to provide them with our contact details & that they would call us if anything came up.

I do not feel that my situation was handled as a priority and I personally feel that if I was assisted correctly, I would have found the stolen bag.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon levis strauss tee

I have purchased a Levis tee recently from Edgars South Africa Newcastle, I am disgusted with the quality of this item. This also the second time I noticed this with the Levis Tee. The first time I just ignored the problem. The side seam sewing is not straight and the levis tag is only half way visible. We are paying premium price for you product and expect the quality. This is the reason people are buying fake items on the street, you get it for a quarter of the price and same quality.

If you look on my history of purchases you will notice I have purchased quite a number of men's winter pyjamas eversince last year.
Every time I see my son who lives in northcliffe he complains that the pyjamas shrunk after the very first wash. I first thought that maybe they tumble dried the pyjamas because that may have been the cause of the problem I then bought hime some more and made it to his attention to not tumble dry it. He said mom I did explain to the lady working for us and she said she did not but then he himself washed the pyjamas... They always wash in cold water... And hung it on the washing line. Can u believe it they also shrunk after the first wash.
Now this morning I spoke to him again and he said he noticed that the pair he was wearing last night the pants tore. So I am very disappointed in this product that edgars is selling to us. He works very near to edgar dale and I would really appreciate it if you could perhaps let him drop it off at your head office of maybe if you do not mind collecting it from him it would be great.
I do not have the dates and times now but you are welcome to check on my history this years as well it was in may that I bought 2 pairs again. And they are the ones that tore in the pants. So it is not old ones that I am complaining about he only wears those pyjamas in the winter in any case. I thank you and look forward to hear from you.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon edcon refuses to issue me statements to I can track the payment progress on my account

Good Day

My Edgars account has been handed to attorneys, i contacted the attorneys to make payment arrangements, debit orders has been going off since April. I have requested statements since April but too no avail. Last week 1st August i contacted Edcon to either issue me with statements and a payment arrangement letter.

The guy who assisted me told me that is not possible and after being with him on the phone he was not able to see who the account has been handed over to. After speaking to numerous people who gave me various balances. Another person advised my account has been handed over to MBD, i contacted MBD and they cannot find my account details on their system., Then Finally i got through to a lady who advised me, the contact is no longer handed over but with Edcon collections department, and she advised me i would receive statements within 48 hours, after someone from Head office advised i would get it the same day. More than 48 hours has passed and still not statement was sent I spend almost the whole day Thursday and Friday phoning around trying to get someone who could assist me and Saturday Morning, i received one June statement, i Then contacted [protected] who i was advised by Edcon to contact. I advised that i need a May and latest July statement.

Yesterday the 6th August 2018, i contact the above number again to try and get May and July statement, Then to my surprise i was informed the account is not with Edcon but handed over to attorneys again, after they told me not even a week later
the account is with edcons collections depart. they keep sending e from pillar to post.
According to Ndidzulafhi Matodzi - Customer services administrator and Ntando Nyawo, I cannot get statements because my account is handed over.

I cannot understand why i am being refused statements, for the purpose of updating my Policies and tracking my payment progress and to see what additional fees are being added to my account

Edgars Fashion / Edcon stone harbour denims

I recently bought my husband 2 pairs of stone harbour jeans at Edgars Pavilion. He has worn both pairs of denims possibly 4 times and now both pairs of pants have torn next to the back pockets. He has other pairs that have done exactly the same thing. They have not been hooked on anything the have just perished. Is Edgar's using inferior suppliers. The last two pairs of denims were made in South Africa and the others were made in Lesotho. Another thing with the denims is that the zips don't stay up, they just slide down all the time.

I phoned today 02/08/2018 the call center, Just for them to email my statements. First operator just drop the phone on me and I had to phone call back. second one told me to hold on as she will find out from her colleague, just to hold on for more then 10 min and the phone to be drop on me again. This is terrible service from your call center agents .

Edgars Fashion / Edcon queen duck down duvet inners

About two years ago, I spent nearly R4000 on what was supposed to be 3 x queen duck down duvet inners. I saw this as an investment in my home and could not wait for the inners to be used. My excitement was short lived. Whenever I placed a queen duvet cover set with these queen duvet inners there was always an extra piece of duvet cover - meaning the queen cover was too big for the queen inner. I didn't know what the problem was. I went to different stores and over time kept trying queen covers from different stores hoping that perhaps it would fit. It never ever crossed my mind that the inner may not actually be queen size as I distinctly took and paid for 3 queen duvet inners, and no reputable company was going to give me a double inner and claim it to be queen. Yesterday whilst I was in Woolworths I was explaining my predicament to a sales lady in the duvet department and for the first time in two years someone shed some light on this puzzle of these duvet inners. She explained to me that perhaps the inners were mistakenly labeled at the factory and I actually had received doubles instead of queens! I have over the past two years bought a number of different queen duvet cover sets from different stores trying to get a fit for these faulty inners! She further said to me that if the fault is Boardmans then legally Boardmans has got to give me the right size, even if it is two years later - as I have incurred many additional expenses in acquiring queen duvet sets and cannot be expected to simply take a loss on that and sit with expensive inners which are not the right size for the beds in my home. Boardmans - your mistakes should not mean huge financial losses for me, please make the right!

I received a call from a collections agent on 19.07.2018 at 1pm name Mandisha. The above-mentioned process that has occurred was an incorrect one as I have missed the payment by give or take one week and this resulted me in being incorrectly handed over to the debt collecting agency which should have never occurred if according to the NCA is more than 3 months or 2 in arrears, whereas this occurred in the very first month and damaged my credit record/score. I am applying for a new place to stay and this can negatively affect me from getting my new place. I feel that this is absolutely bad service and is now I might not even be able to get my place I'm moving into due to an incorrect follow up procedure. Please advise me what the NCR terms are, as I have not missed one payment with my Edgars account except the above mentioned.
I am really battered by this as I have been trying to get this place for a really long time.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon watch purchased in melrose arch

I am writing this email with regards to the email or an invoice from your company that I tend to disagree with.

Purchased was made at Melrose Arch Edgards - 24/06/2017 then an exchange done at the The Glen on the 24/06/2017

The watch was handed to Edgards The Glen 2018/05/2018 Reference number 012935 - Consultant Ms Lebogang Mothoa

The watch was send back to Edgars advising that the guarantee was not packaged - that was not true as we packed everything in the brown envelope, I started getting agitated with the consultant and Boitumelo had to intervene on the case, we located the receipts and couriered the item on the 15/06/2018 reference number 012942.

I need the following addressed:

1.The item was purchased on the ( 24/06/2017) The Glen branch with an express warranty of 12 months from date of purchase.
2.The malfunctioning of the item was noticed sometime during the warranty period and the said item was handed in well within the warranty time line however it appeared from your different store consultants no one knew what had to be done hence same not attended to.
3.I then received a call informing me that there were some monies that I had to pay prior to repairs being undertaken and I must at this point mention that I take exception to that I believe the repairs should be covered under the warranty/guarantee period.

I look forward to your favourable outcome failing which this matter will be referred to the consumer council for arbitration.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon unauthorized airtime added on account

I was informed that I owe R207 on my account when I went to the Edgars stores. I was not sure what this was for however I settled the account again.

I phoned the accounts department and they informed me that I have to phone the airtime department as the amount was for airtime that has been added onto my account

I have asked so many times how can they just add things without me knowing about anything - still no feedback

I phoned the airtime division numerous times and every single time they say that they can not assists they need to escalate and I have to wait 48hours - Still every time I never receive any calls.

I don't know what else to do

I have never received such bad service as I did from Edgards

In the mean time they added an bother R72 airtime to my account which I will not pay.

I have phone, accounts, airtime department, customer care, sent emails
Still no feedback

Ref nr for first call to cancel the product and refund me - EDCP-[protected]

This cal was logged on 30/06/2018 -amolst 3 weeks still no feedback

I really don't know what to do anymore

Edgars Fashion / Edcon badboy watch

I bought a badboy watch at Edgars East Rand Mall on 13 May 2018 and since then only experienced problems. The watch keeps on resetting itself for no apparent reason. Took it in for repairs and waited weeks on end. Finally had enough and went to the store to check up. I was told it has been back for more than a week after repairs has been supposedly done. No communication whatsoever. Got the watch back and its still resetting itself. I need a new replacement watch.

Rosebank edgars is discusting. Theres so many staff members but no one is where they are supposed to be. No staff at Aldo no staff at Petite section. Ive been waiting for assistance for more than ten minutes. They are still calling the dedicated staff member. Everytime im at this store i cringe. If i could undress a manican i would. The only people actually working is the security.

I opened an account with Edgars and I have been paying monthly and I didnt understand why the amount owed didnt match what it should

Come to find someone/people at Edgars decided to fraudulently add all these covers that I didn't give consent for
Like a death benefit and three other covers and they had a debt collector call me telling me I was behind.
And I was charged for being called by debt collector

Edgars Fashion / Edcon kelso boots

I purchased a pair of black Kelso boots at the Edgars in the Waterfall Mall, Rustenburg on the 04th July 2018.

Upon wearing them today (05th July), something kept troubling me on my left foot. When I eventually took the boot off at work, I noticed that the left boot was a size smaller than the right. I bought the pair attached to each other, so how is this possible?

As I only realised this whilst at work, will I be able to swop the boots? Edgars cannot possibly expect me to just ignore the fact that I have bought boots to the value of R300, and the left boot is size 5, right boot size 6. The size of the shoe on the label was a 6, which I checked and I have the labels and slips.

I would like to know how Edgars is going to assist me, can I swop the size 5 boot for a size 6 please as I now have boots that useless to me.

Employees are responsible for checking that the sizes are the same when paying surely?

Ive been calling this pathetic excuse of a customer services line for the better part of a damn month now. I've even emailed but no one has got back to me! I purchased a pair of spectacles at torga optical on the 7th of May 2018, I then subsequently went back to torga to cancel purchases made on the 9th and they did a reversal of payment . Upon reviewing my Edgars statement I noticed the reversal was not stated.. I called in, and I was told it should reflect on my June statement. We're now in June and the issue still persists. I contacted torga and they informed me reversal has been made.. And now here I am still waiting on edgars to contact me regarding said issue.. It's over a month now!

On the last 3 occasions when I ordered online I get a call from the Sky net driver who says he is in Dobsonville Soweto to deliver my parcel, that confuses me because on the address that I wrote when placing an order it clearly states Ranjespark and the area code, I don't know where Dobsonville comes from, so when I tell the driver where exactly they need to deliver the driver writes down the correct address and says he will give it back to the branch so that they will give the parcel to the driver who would come and deliver to the correct address and mind you this now takes more days. on all 3 occasions this happened. Now I am convinced that Edgars is the one making an error here, somebody is just not doing their job properly. I just placed another online order and I am 100% sure that the parcel will via Dobsonville before getting to me. This is annoying!

My online orders [protected] and [protected] were placed on 23 May 2018.
I requested a change immediately on 23 may 2018 with regard to my free samples.
My order was still "in process" stage but edgars refused to change the free samples.
Nine (9) days after my order placed and I have not yet received my order! Not efficient at all! I am going to ombudsman.

I placed two online order on 23 may 2018. When I realised my mistake on one of my orders, I requested a change immediately on 23 may 2018 with regard to my free samples.
My order was still "in process" stage but edgars customer care refused to change the free samples.
Today, 2 june 2018 nine (9) days after my online order placed and I have not yet received my order!
Not efficient and convenient to purchase online at all!
I am going to ombudsman and complainants board if I do not get my amended online orders in the next two (2) days. That will now be 11 days after my purchase!
Whereas I could have walked into a branch and purchased it conveniently and hassel free and would have also changed my free samples immediately when I realised my mistake and before paying! No questions asked and no waiting 11 days to receive my order!

We bought a duvet cover set on Sunday 25 May 2018 in the Boarmans department Edgars Bayside Mall in Tableview Cape Town. Super King Hotel Collection Grey Leaf Set.

We opened it to wash and found that the pillowcases was removed out of the packaging. I don't stay in Cape Town. What do I do? Return it to Bayside? That's a two hour drive! Please contact me regarding this issue as to how we are going to resolve this. I can also order online and send the one back that is faulty.
