ComEd Comed

Comed will not turn my power on because my tenant didn't pay the bill. My account is in no way associated with my tenants, who moved out. It's been below freezing every night for 6 nights that I have not had power. There is no way for me to heat the house. I have expensive medical supplies that require refrigeration and are probably ruined.
At this point I believe Comed is just [censored]ing with me because they can. I provided everything they asked for, although it took 3 days for them to ask, and only after multiple calls did they request info from me.
Comed is a disgusting company.

Desired outcome: Turn on power

ComEd shutoff

I own a 3 unit townhouse, 35W710 Woodlawn Ave. St. Charles Il. 60174 - as has happened previously with apartment #1, when a renter left they called and had the electricity shut off. Well - my renter that just handed me the keys and had the electricity turned off in unit #3. How can I prevent this from happening in the future? Don't recall if I had to pay a fee to have the juice turned back on in unit #2 ( just 2 or three months ago I believe) I am the homeowner and I wonder if I can prevent this bad situation from happening again. This is a three-unit townhouse and electric has been in my name previously in unit #2. Can I be the default bill payer, this is my 3 unit home keeping me from having to spend the time and trouble I am expending right

Desired outcome: keep it on! 35W710 unit # 1 St. Charles Il. 60174

ComEd Lighting

I live next to the ComEd switching facility on Swift Rd. in Glen Ellyn. They have installed extremely bright spot lights that are positioned so that they are shining directly into my home. They come on and off all night long disturbing our sleep. I have tried many times and many different ways to address this issue with ComEd and keep getting assurances that the situation is being addressed. However, after months, nothing is happening and the lights are going on and off even more frequently then they were before making the complaint!

Desired outcome: Redirect the lights so they are not shinning directly at my house.

ComEd Com Ed Late Fees and Deposit Requirement

I have been at my current address and using Com Ed for 20 years. I have never missed a monthly payment.
Now, after constantly changing their due dates, they claim that I am 'late'. I have always paid my bills on the 15th, yet somehow I'm suddenly late because they moved their billing date.
This is obviously an intentional scheme to extract extra fees and 'deposits' from their customers.

I contacted them and asked them to bill me to coincide with my pay day (the 15th of every month), instead of billing me right afterward. They refused and demanded the late fees and deposit or else they would cut my power.

If this is not resolved reasonably, I will be forced to contact my State Representative and possibly file a class-action lawsuit. I'm sure that there are plenty of other Illinoisans who are being shaken down by these crooks.

ComEd Lack of service

ComEd has failed to address an issue of the power leading into my factory. Occasional spikes are causing us loss of product, equipment repair, production down time, etc! My electrician for in the warehouse has repeatedly attempted to "work with" ComEd to help rectify the issue but ComEd seems to not want to do this. ComEd should work with my contractor and resolve the issue together rather that have the linesman tell me the customer "we only care about power coming to your building, not what happens inside"

ComEd disconnection

On Tuesday October 29 2019 com Ed shut off my service when it was 40 degrees outside. I have talked to a service rep that comes into my store and I asked if they can do that. And she said no. Especially when they check to see what the temps are to be at night and rest of week. So since then it has been in the 30s and today on Halloween it's snowing and cold. Very disappointed in com Ed for treating a customer who is a senior citizen. When I called to get it turned on I asked how much and they said past due of x amount of dollars. At least nicor makes a deal with u to extend the payment so u can pay x amount to get turned back on. So ashamed in your company for treating senior citizens like this. And yes I applied at liheap and there gonna tell me I make to much money. So all winter I will have no heat. SHAME SHAME ON YOU! Irene marquez [protected]

This is exactly why no one including utility companies should be allow to have a legal monopoly. That also goes for municipal companies.Monopolies are bad.

ComEd electricity consumption in our condominium building

Our condo building... "Wacker" 960 Harris Rd.. is one of 3 here at Prairie Crossing in Grayslake. We have experienced an unexplained extreme over consumption/or at least we have been charged for that during the last few months. In fact our buildings common area electricity usage has in 5 months eclipsed our expected consumption for the entire 2019 year! How we know this reflects an unexplained anomaly is the additional fact that our sister building... "Bennet" 970 Harris Rd...similar to ours in every way...is running at about the expected level of consumption and one half that of our building!

Our property management company has reportedly appealed to ComEd to inspect the premises for any problems and has been told ComEd will do absolutely nothing! And ComEd is supposedly concerned that I reduce my usage a bit during peak hours... this problem dwarfs anything a single resident could influence!

I want ComEd out here to ensure they are not at fault. I am not particularly experienced but I am persistent and will approach the Illinois Commerce Commission next if not satisfied with ComEd's response.

ComEd power to house

Thursday night we lost partial power to the house. This is a recurring problem in our location being in the woods. But a tech came out friday after reporting the problem and said they would have someone here Saturday morning to fix the problem. Saturday Came and gone and no one called or showed up. Today is Sunday .. 4 days now without heat or water and still no one here to fix the problem. I have watched the tech's fix this problem at our house at least once or twice a year for the last 10 years, and has never taken longer than 20 min to fix the problem. And here I still sit with no heat or water for my family. I call and call and keep getting blown off.

ComEd being charged a deposit

I am being charged for a deposit that is way too much because I had been late paying. I have never been turned off and you already charge me late fees but I still manage to pay my electricity bill. I can put this on auto pay seeing I forget to make the payments but being late should not justify needing to pay a $283 deposit. The customer service rep was not helpful at all and really refused to help me by solving my problem nor by putting a manager on the phone. He eventually put me on hold to speak to someone but then the phone hung up afterwards as if it was on purpose. That is no way to treat customers that may be having trouble or not having trouble. I don't live in a project as if I am poor. I make well enough to pay my bills. This bill just slips by me for some reason.

ComEd customer service

On 09/17 at 3:10 I was on a call with a supervisor name Jackie ID #2396 and she had a really nasty attitude. So did the rep Angie on 09/18. I notice you have a lot of female reps that are just down right unprofessional and extremely not nice. I am wondering if this is tolerated or part of your company culture and perspective. This is the only company I have problems with when calling for customer service. Customer service is a vital part of keeping clients. I will be looking for another supplier to do business with and letting my family know to do the same.

ComEd current surges

My business is located at 570 W. Armory Drive in South Holland. We have again been affected by a current surge - over the past 3 years we have lost (4) 3phase motors which all shut down sections of our shop until we were able to replace the motors. (We previously called about this problem and obviously it has never been addressed) After this weekend we returned to our office to find the transformer on our 15 ton roof top HVAC unit had to be replaced because of another surge. (8-26-27) Cost of repairs $263.14

ComEd moving transformer

I am so disappointed in comed I do not know where to start. We were supposed to close on my new construction home this coming tuesday, may 29th. We found out about a week the city will not approve our final inspection because the comed transformer box was installed 2 foot higher than on the plans. The builder has contacted comed multiple times to have this lowered and corrected but they will not commit to a new date and keep saying they will be out in the next few weeks. We have a rate lock with the bank for our mortgage that can no longer be extended and if we lose the rate by not closing because of comed our loan will cost us $90k more over the term of the loan. We have also incurred legal fees because our attorney has been with the village to see if we can get an exception of occupancy but that is only done for weather related reasons. Comed's lack of prompt response and attention to this urgent matter has made our lives hell this past week. We are so disturbed by the lack of care and promptness of this company... And we still have no solution or answer to this matter.

ComEd smart meter pressure

I am writing this complaint in reference to the harsh treatment and bullying of COM Ed within Chicago Illinois. I am the new tenant to the home at 12034 South Laflin St. Account #[protected]
I recently began renting this home in October 2017. According to the customer service agent at ComEd, there was an ordinance passed in 2014 that Homes should have a smart meter installed. However, during that time this home was owned by its original owner and no smart meter was installed. Since his passing the house was bought by a new owner, who is a developer, and actually occupied this Home and renovated this home from 2016 until my lease was signed October 2017. I am sure that during that time that Home was being charged by COM Ed and no smart meter was installed at that time either. At this time, I have been asked for the smart meter to be installed or I will face a penalty monthly on my bill for not having a smart meter.
I am asking, why am I being forced, as a tenant, to allow defacing of the property (at which I do not own)? This same pressure or enforcement of the ordinance should have been applied to the owners, who paid a monthly bill, prior to me entering this home in 2017?
I have reached out to my landlord and informed him of this ordinance. He has agreed that ComEd can place a smart meter on the home. However, ComEd continues to reach out to me after I have given his phone number and name for them to call him for permission to place a smart meter on his property. As a tenant I cannot give this permission as I have no ownership to this property. As a result, I have been charged triple of what my bill was originally in October and November 2017. This month, coincidentally, I have been working 70 to 72 hour weeks and my bill has increased by $100 even though I have not been home to utilize the electrical services.
I am asking that this complaint board look into the fleecing of ComEd, as i'm a ComEd customer in which money is being extorted and ordinance is being enforced far past its original law enforcement era.

ComEd public safety by comed drivers

This morning I witnessed a COMED pickup truck perform a "u" turn in the middle of Broadway St in Coal City, IL. This particular street is posted "No Left Turn For Parking" along both sides of the street as a safety measure. How is a "u" turn any safer than an illegal left turn. Who would be the responsible party of record if an injury had occured, the "company" or the driver?

ComEd customer care

My power was disconnected a tech came out and said "he had to put an order in and would atleast call me to say a day." No such call occurred I then call customer care. They could not give me any details either I asked to speak with a manager. I told of my situation of haveing 4 children and two seniors living in my home. I then proceeded to tell her I was using a generater I asked if she could atleast give me some information as to a day. All she could do is laugh at my situation and say 3-5 days.in which this would actually be 7 days without power since there was a weekend. At this point I was furious as to how careless and unprofessional this supposed seasoned worker that is in a manager position was. I then told her how she could laugh she denied then when I asked for her information to lodge a complaint is when she became professional which by this point her being so rude, unprofessional and just plain callous was not appreciated. This employee was Stacy ext. 2315 was the only information she would provide no last name no facility where I can send a complaint. This was by far the worst show of professionalism or lack of I have ever come accross.

This issues are everywhere. I am in Texas and they are very rude here, they don't care is not their house. Good luck trying to speak with a real manager because must of the time they use each other and pretend they are managers.

ComEd power being restored in my business.

I have been calling ComEd and had employees calling ComEd since August 17, 2017 at night to get my power restored in my tavern. They said they would get someone out on Friday, August 18 but no one came. I had someone there since 12 in the after noon like they asked and I came personally at 4pm and no one showed up. I lost business for a day and half and still have yet to receive a call back or anything concerning my business' power being restored. I informed them that my breaker was heating up but they just said they would contact me as soon as someone could come when I called again on August 18 around 7pm. I lost money and possibly clients because of this.

ComEd having no electricity for 2 days.

We loss our electricity because of roof top problems so we called ComEd people and they said that they gonna take care of the electricity that day and we wait for 7 hours without electricity because that's what ComEd said. We got problems going to work and everything but we were still waiting to get our electricity back. But it's been already 10 p. m and the ComEd still didn't come. So we decided to go to hotel to sleep because it's so dark and still bo electricity so we can't do nothing. We pay for $100 that night just yo sleep in. Then, the next day we get back home thinking maybe the ComEd bring iur electricity back and sadly it's still not. I am complaining about this because this is terrible and non humanity experience for my family. We are very unhappy to what the ComEd did to us. We are paying so high every month for our electricity bill. We just want our electricity back.

ComEd unauthorized usage

I moved out of 650 S York Road, Bensenville, Illinois on June 15 2016 with proof of signing a new lease with a roommate. My lease in Bensenville ended, and the property manager can verify that information. My new roommate placed the ComEd bill in her name at our Chicago thus I did not have to transfer services to the new location from Bensenville. I called to cancel my services with ComEd. After she moved out in May of 2017, I opened a ComEd account in my name. With in 30 days, I received a bill for 725 dollars because ComEd charged me for usage of services through the end of September into October of 2016. There was a new tenant living in the apartment that was fraudulent using my identity and ComEd account for electric services. I called ComEd to dispute the charges and they said I was responsible to pay for the usage or they would disconnect my current services at my current residence that I have been living at for over a year.
