Chicken Express withheld paycheck/health concerns/ no first aid kit

Upon being hired I submitted an application and brought all the necessary paperwork as needed during the hiring process.(Application, Birth Certificate, Drivers License) They made a copy of all three and two days later the store owner walks up to me and says, "You won't be paid until you bring your Social Security card, you can work but if you don't bring it you won't be paid." I let him know mine was damaged pretty bad and I would request for another. I told him I was a full time student at a University 40 mins away and I would bring it well before the next pay period. He said "As long as you bring the paper saying it's on the way that will work but you will not be paid if you don't." I was hired on a Thursday of a pay week. The following Wednesday I brought the email and showed the manager on duty [protected]) and they said I would have to show the owner when he came back So some one quit the day after and they asked me to pick up a bunch of shifts a including a double on Friday and Sunday and the owner didn't show up at all. So the Monday of the next pay week rolls around and I let them know I had the paperwork again and they blew it off like he would show up sometime soon. By Wednesday he comes in and I show him the email and he says okay thanks. Friday I go into work and I don't have a paycheck because it was "too late" to get my paperwork processed because I "didn't even have a Birth Certificate" and they had 2 copies of everything in an unorganized drawer full of filled applications and other copies of drivers licenses. I told them i wasnt working until i was laid because i did everything i was supposed to do and they told me that's fine you won't have a job. This was a huge blow to my life. And since I'm on the complaints page I think it's right to mention I cut my finger on one of the water pans and they told me there was no first aid kit in the store. There are a few other things wrong in the back that would definitely get a D+ if someone was to send a health inspector to the back. They claim to wash dishes by spraying them with water and dipping them in sanitation after. I was told "it doesn't have to be all the way clean just get the big pieces of food off"

Chicken Express customer service

The female employee working the drive threw at the chicken express on cockrell hill, duncanville tx was extremely rude when I first placed my order, which was simply a sweet tea. She was very short and her tone of voice was flat out hateful. Granted, she used did say "ma'am" but in a very sarcastic tone of voice. When asked to speak to the manager she simply told me to "pull to the window". I asked her multiple times if I could speak to a manager and what their name was and all she would tell me was "pull to the window"

Chicken Express chicken I got for take out

I ordered two thighs to go 5 people standing around. When I got home which is just a few blocks away was real real cold and very little.looked like it had been sitting a long time .Everyone had a cold expression on there face. lady that pick chicken out should have know better.I was to tired and mad to go back to store.What a shame .They just took order said No Thank you or nothing. Maybe because I'm Black? I GUESS NEXT TIME I'LL HAVE MY WIFE GO She's White?

Chicken Express rude service when called about a wrong order

I went thru the drive thru and ordered all dark 8 piece and was told it would b 15 mins. So I waited and got home and it wasn't all dark. I called the store and asked if u could not get all dark and was told yes u could but it's a 20 min wait so I said I thought that's why I waited 15 in the first place and he replied like I said it's a 20 min wait . I told him to start my order and I would b there to switch them. When I got there he switched it but was pretty rude about it. I love your guys chicken and I don't understand how me asking if me waiting 15 mins in the drive thru wasn't for dark meat would piss him off bit apparently it did.

Chicken Express food quality/ overcharged

On Sunday April 30th, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to Chicken Express since we hadn't eaten there in a while. Well the service was not up to par, not to mention I was overcharged and the quality of the food was horrible. The catfish, hush puppies and Mac and cheese were all overcooked. The 3 piece meals that we ordered were supposed to be 7.99 a piece, instead we were charged 10.19. If your prices have increased, that's fine but you should probably inform the restaurant staff of the increase. The employee (#11) quoted me over the phone that the price was 7.99. I do not appreciate being overcharged and then given food that isn't even fit for my dogs. I doubt I will ever visit Chicken Express again.

Chicken Express management and lack of customer service

Well this is the second time I have had an issue at the Lancaster location. Last night I had class it was 10 mins until 10pm. I knew it would be close but I should be able to arrive and order before ten. I pull up at 9:57pm to drive thru there is a black charger at the order menu. I literally turned my car off because he was taking forever. Another car pulls up behind me and actually honks. The car pulls around and I pull to the order window it is now 10:04pm. As I'm at the order window they turn off all their lights. They don't come to the intercom to say sorry we are closed, nothing. As I pull around I notice the black charger now parked in parking spot with no one in it. I pull to the window and everyone working in the store is laughing and wont come to the window. When they do I ask to speak to manager, I ask his name he says D. He said you pulled up after he closed. I explained I did not I was there before and if he can see me waiting why not address me to explain they are closed. I ask for the corporate # or district manager's #. He shuts the window in my face as he says get out of here. Come to find out he pulls his car in drive thru window waits for after 10 so no other cars can order. Pretty smart for a lazy Asst. GM, yes that's his title. Shame on you. I will never eat there again and I hope they close down.
So I call the store today and ask for the corporate number again, given this #
[protected]. It's a fax number.

Chicken Express service

In the past when I get off work I stop in and order the tenders special. Since I get there as you are closing (10pm) the manager would give me extra side items that would have been discarded. This evening I was told another manager was working. Fine, no big deal. The clerk walks off and next I'm confronted by a manager with FOLDED arms asking my "problem". Now I'm made to feel like a homeless beggar explaining what had been done in past. I'm told you dont do that. FINE! Can I order?!? So I order and find out gravy on the side of potatoes is $2 extra. Why? Then I wait 15 minutes for my food. Finally I get my food, then I ask for butter for the rolls. Clerk SIGHS loudly and gets me 4 little butters. BUT YOU GIVE 6 PIECES OF BREAD! So I ask for more butter. Now she is mad and SHE GIVES ME 2 LITTLE BUTTERS! At this point I'm done. I get home and my FAMILY size green beans were half empty and the lids were not attached correctly to gravy!

I regret all the nice things I've said about your restaurant. All ruined by a clerk (Sandee)with more attitude than courtesy, poor service skills, and a manager (Shane) that predetermined what I wanted before hearing anything I said.

Chicken Express poor management and communication

Spoke to the manager about needing a changing table in the women's or men's bathroom. The manager, Corey, explained that it's the decision of owners of the restaurant. Obviously but I brought it to his attention that it is raining outside and I have no where to change my son's diaper. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. No apology and no telling me that he will let the owners know that there is a request for one. My family and I visit this chicken express once or twice a month. I've told them before that they need a changing table and the previous manager I spoke to said that he will let them (owners) know. This manager was incredibly rude. I don't need a lesson, I need a changing table. No I will not change my son on the floor of the restroom. No I will not change my son in the car in the pouring rain. Please resolve this problem. We will not go back to Chicken Express until there are changing tables in the restroom.

Chicken Express chicken

Hi my name is Monique and I'm disable I had a friend to pick up chicken for my son and myself and he ordered a 8 piece mix and it was a 7 piece instead and they charged him $13.49 this is the second time I had a problem with this location and I always get my food from here because I'm new to Oklahoma and I heard good things I was unsatisfied with it

Chicken Express the entire store

The store on lindsey street in norman is horrible! They are always out of something and the attitude in there needs serious adjusting. This really sucks because once you actually get your food (That is if the order is correct and you don't have to go back again to get it fixed) is actually really good. This store is so mismanaged it is shocking. Every time the only excuse I get is we are training. I take it you are always training because no one wants to work here! Well I can tell you I don't want to eat here anymore!

Chicken Express never have cookies ready!!!

Nearest chicken express near me is in forest hill tx, they always have an attitude extremely rude! And every time I ask for cookies they say the don't have any made and it will take up to 45min to an hour. When I know it wouldn't take that long plus they should already have some made. Needs new management or just a whole new staff. They also don't greet you they simply tell you how much your food is.

Chicken Express everything

I went to have lunch at the chicken express on Davis Blvd in Texas. Upon our arrival we noticed not just one but every single table and bench in the restaurant was dirty and people were standing around laughing, playing, and making jokes. The manager was even sitting eating lunch. When we ordered food they were out of hot wings at 2:00 on a Saturday. There was two servers one was a very loud African American lady who was rude to the other server in front of everyone in the place, however the the other server seemed to be under the influence and could not get the simplestimate order correct. They had afriend, also a very loud inappropriate African American. The first thing he yells to the back of the kitchen was "do I look like I'm standing here with my penis in my hand?" When he goes to pay for his food him and the African American server make jokes about how his dollar bills are so crisp and that they have to be for the strip club. The man then walks around with his hand in his pants and I can hear him on the phone making what sounded to be a drug deal. I must say, I used to go to the chicken express off of beach all the time and it was amazing, I didn't not think that this one woukd be such an awful experience, not just for me but for the fact that there were young children in the restaurant and nothing was done to make it more family friendly. I can honestly say I do not plan to go back.

Chicken Express management/owners

Again I will say the Taylor GM management is horrible. From talking bad to the staff, talking behind their back and serving bad chicken all around BAD! When the GM is confrounted about the issue of speaking to employees badly both Tessa and Glenn try to cover themselves up and go around it. The staff has a horrible turn over rate and this explains it. No one wants to work for a manager who calls them an idiot and etc. I witnessed the GM grab ice from the ice machine with his hands and eat it right there putting his hands all on his mouth then making my drink. wow so disgusting. Never will i go back to this place. Ever

I am a former employer and i think its very unprofessional to waste an employees time by only giving them 1 day a week to work. If you dont want an employee there then just tell them. The management and owners of this location are some shady snakes. Go behind your back and talk about staff. Never will i reccomend this place ever! When you talk to management they try to cover themselves by lying. I witnessed the GM call an assistant manager an idiot. What kind of GM is supposed to be treating their staff like this? They also serve green chicken, literally its going bad but they still sell it to get their moneys worth. The turn over rate is so high and it literally speaks for itsself. no one wants to work for a shady crappy business.

Chicken Express unprofessional management

I went to eat at the bonner and hwy 377 location today. After i already paid for my food, i received my drink. so i turned to my fiance and asked if she had hers and she said no. Then i turned back towards the employee just to simply let him know that we only needed her drink. His manager said ... we are getting it, don't rush us god damn! ; in a very rude tone. Very unprofessional and i will NEVER go back to that place again. You dont charge someone almost 20 bucks for food then speak to them like that afterwards. Immediate action is required. Thank you and have a good day.

Chicken Express refusing to cook food

I came to the chicken express in Jacksonville Texas to order 12 liver is at 9:17 PM on March 31, 2017 and they told me that they are not cooking anymore livers when it usually only takes seven minutes to cook livers I feel this is very very rude that they refuse to cook food for a customer is willing to pay money I do not understand why you hire people like this

Chicken Express manager and owner

I am a former employee and I posted on this complaint board a couple of days ago. Since my post I continued to contact the owner. I still have not received a call from him however, I did receive a call from the manager. I talked to her and told her what my actions were for not sending my W2 yet. She then hung up on me and texted me and told me I was being very rude to her and that that is the reason she hung up. I never once spoke ill to her I was simply stating the facts of what I had done for not sending my W2. She said that my W2 was sent back to the store, when I receive a picture of my envelope sitting on her desk it has the correct address on it which tells me that she didn't send it in the first place. There is nothing wrong with my address and no reason that it should have been returned. I'm not too sure what can be done about this but this is very poor management and obviously a shady owner if he can't even return a call from a former employee about how his manager is treating people.

Chicken Express 4 tender combo

Hello i went to the chicken express in lubbock texas on 82nd st. I used to love chicken express and I havent been in awhile. I ordered two 4 tender combo with fries and a roll. I got home and the chicken seemed old and cold and the fries were worse the only thing good was the roll and the gravy. I spent 16 dollars I thought about calling the store but there was nothing but young kids working and I was scared it might not lead me anywhere. Below i have attached a picture me or my friend could not eat our meal this is how bad it was. I hope this can be fixed as i am a lover of chickwn express and they disappointed me this time. Thank you.

Chicken Express manager

I am a former employee of this store and I am having great difficulty receiving my w-2 form. I have called Gennie, the manager, twice and gave her my current address and she said it was on the way over a month ago. I have even reached out to the owner Ronnie who has not returned any of my calls or voicemail about this concern. I recently received information that my w-2 is still sitting on her desk at the store. Can someone please do something about this? We are all adults and none of this behavior is acceptable. Especially from the owner and his manager.

Chicken Express product and service

Do not spend money at this place! I ordered chicken tenders and asked for honey mustard and when I got home I had nothing so I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager. She stated on the phone it was hard for her to hear so I spoke louder and she hung up and I called back and she stated I was hollowing at her. She made excuses of how I should have checked my order before I left because honey mustard is extra. I told her that when I was ordering she should have charged me for what I asked for. She then tells me that she have family who is dying. She never said sorry for our mistake or for the inconvenience. When I told her that she hung up again. I then drove back up to the restaurant and when I get here the staff tells me that she is gone to the bank and no other manager is here to give me a refund. I told them I would wait and took a seat. If she is the owner then she need to be trained in how to treat customers.

She did finally come out to where I was sitting waiting for her she come to the table and I asked are you the manager and I calmly told her that she hung up in my face twice and she snatched the box off the table and stated I'm not going to argue with you, which no one was arguing at all and the restaurant was busy so if it was and argument people would have noticed. I told her to just refund the money. The worst service ever! She don't deserve to be a manager or even employed at any restaurant.

Below is a picture of the receipt that clearly shows my order when place. Could have been resolved with "sorry our mistake let me take care of my that".

Chicken Express rude behavior, cursing, obnoxious and extremely loud employees

My wife and I were at the location at 107 N Hasler Blvd in Bastrop, TX. The lady at the counter acted like we were an extreme inconvenience, we got our meals, two of the snack boxes, as we were sitting there eating, the entire crew kept getting louder and louder, cussing up a storm, my wife is currently in a wheelchair due to surgery so I moved a regular chair aside for her to have enough room to eat, someone just basically threw the same chair back at the table, almost hitting her in the process. And as we were leaving, normally people are supposed to be nice and wish you to return, not here! These people are extremely rude!
