Bad driver, no respect for laws
On 11/15/23 at 8:45am-9:5am
One of your drivers parked illegally over night.( see video & photos )
The attached Video speaks multitude of illegal practices.
DOT could give multi-tickets to your driver and also could Tow the equipment.
Next is to send to Dollar General this same photos. After all it is their trailer, that could be towed along with tractor.
Claimed loss: None
Desired outcome: Train the driver about over hanging in driveways & not to park at Red curbs, just because he has a Red tractor ! LOLBlocking a fire hydrant also is illegal.
Interview
My unbelievable and negative CR England interview experience.
I had my interview with Stephen Foxall (10/31/2023) in Casa Grande, AZ. It was a short and interesting interview. Stephen had sent me a text the day prior with the address. I arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled meeting time. When I arrived, I went to the front security desk to check in. After receiving a temporary badge, I called Mr. Foxall and informed him I was upfront at the security desk and that they would be sending me back to meet with him as soon as another driver arrives, so they could have the driver walk me back to his location. Mr. Foxall informed me that he mentioned in his text to me that I needed to enter through the truck gate entrance when I arrived. I apologized for the confusion and explained that I was in a rush and did not take the time to read the whole text. I then informed him I would drive around to the other entrance.
When I arrived at the building where Mr. Foxall office was located, I got out of my car and began walking up to the building. I saw three people standing outside smoking cigarettes, and one of them said to me, "I bet you are looking for me". I asked, “Are you Stephen,” he stated "yes". Then he informed me that he preferred to conduct his interviews outside. Then we walked to a picnic table located under an awning near the building where his office is located. We then sat down across from each other.
He then asked me about my combination experience. I only told him about my actual combination/tractor trailer experience. He then made a vague comment about the farm part of my experience not being good enough. He then told me about a cement truck driver that was going to be coming in for an interview. He told me that the cement driver believes he is going to be a driver at the site for CR England, but that he was not going to hire the driver because he did not believe that the driver had enough recent tractor trailer experience. He stated that C.R. England requires at least 3 months’ experience within the past three years. I then told Mr. Foxall that I actually drove cement trucks before my most recent Job driving a tractor trailer. I told him I understood what he was saying. Mr. Foxall then asked me about what type of trailer I was pulling at my current job. I informed him it is a trinity belt trailer. He seemed to be confused as to what that was. He then asked is that what you drove on the farm. I said yes, but it is also what I drive now with the current company I am with. I explained it is an open top grain type of trailer with a moving belt on the floor of it that pushes material toward the back of the trailer. I explained to him, my current job requires me to drive the tractor trailer all over the state to different jobsites where we install woodchips in playgrounds, for city parks, schools, HOA communities. I then stated that some people tend to make the concept of driving a commercial vehicle more difficult than it actually is. I explained that personally find it easy to transition from driving straight truck to combination or vice versa. While it is extremely important to understand the differences between the operations and mechanics of the vehicles, it is more important to be able transition one’s mental focus/perspective easily when switching from one type of vehicle to the other. I stated that I personally find it easy to physically and mentally transition between the different types of vehicles in regard to their operation.
Mr. Foxall seemed to get irritated by what I said. Then Mr. Foxall stated there is a big difference, driving a tractor trailer is a lot more difficult. I agreed with him, then I explained that I was speaking more about the psychological transition needed in order for one to physically transition/operate each of the different types of vehicles. Then Mr. Foxall stated he was talking about safety. I replied, I understand all about safety. I previously worked for public transit. I was also a safety and driver trainer for public transit when I worked in the special transit division. I explained that I am thankful for my experience with public transit. They drove the rules and protocols of safe driving into my head. This is why my driving record is clean and why I have had no tickets or accidents in the past 20 plus years. I stated, I am a safe driver. But then Mr. Foxall rolled his eyes. I then stated, I know drivers say they know how to drive safely when they actually don’t. But I am actually a safe driver. He then replied that his top and safest driver recently got into a serious accident. I then respectfully replied, that if he got into a serious accident then he likely was not driving safely. This seemed to really irritate Mr. Foxall. He then stated that the driver was driving safely, and that the driver sneezed and that the next thing the driver knew he had got into the accident. That it was fatality accident. I replied, I understand, but even if he sneezed multiple times in a row, if the driver was actually driving safely then the accident should not have occurred or should have been minor. Mr. Foxall face got red, and he said the interview is over while waving his hands in front of him, and then started to walk away. I followed him and asked what’s wrong. He stated that he does not believe I am a safe driver and that I am not respectful. He then reiterated the interview is over, you are not working here. I replied fine, to be honest it does not matter to me. I then got in my vehicle and left.
I treated Mr. Foxall with respect, a calm voice, with diplomacy, I did not in any way, shape or form spoke rudely or disrespectfully to him during our interactions together. All I did was express my professional opinion as a driver who has been extensively trained in driver safety. It seemed that my minor disagreement with him on whether the driver in the fatal accident was driving safely or not, triggered a sore point for him for some reason. Mr. Foxall is a much older individual, and he seems to be too temperamental for someone in his type of position. During our whole conversation it seemed he was not really listening to me during the interview. Maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he wants to hire people who will not ever disagree with him on anything, or perhaps he is getting more temperamental due to his age, or maybe he just did not like me for some unknown reason. Whatever his reasoning was for his unprofessional behavior, all I know is that I can now understand why the company is short of drivers at this location.
All I know is because of this individual’s behavior that I will never work for CR England. This experience only perpetuates the negative things I have heard about major carriers. It was bad enough that CR England pay scale is much lower than what I am used to receiving, but the mere fact that the company allows managers to act in an unacceptable and unprofessional manner as Mr. Stephen Foxall did, tells me that CR England has some serious internal issues it needs to resolve.
Side note; I have over 7 years experience as a commercial Driver. 1.5 yrs city/hwy tractor trailer, 2.5 years public transit, 1yr concrete mixer, 1yr farm tractor trailer, 2yrs as chauffer driving vans and buses, 4 years dispatcher and route planner, plus 8 yr in other minor driving/delivery positions. Plus 15 years in oversight management. Clean MVR for 20 years, no tickets, accidents, violations, or incidents. I was even a safety and driver trainer for public transit for 1.5 yrs.
I will never apply with a mega carrier with negative reviews and revolving doors again. It is bad enough the pay is on the low end. I was only applying for the position since my current company has vehicles down for repair thereby limited work available, and because the CR England jobsite was close to my home. I was willing to take a $6 an hour pay cut for this job. I'm headed back to concrete. It's dirty, but at least I can get between $28-35 an hour, plus overtime, with none of this B.S. mileage rate pay that the mega carriers do to short change the drivers.

Employee persecuted under whistleblower
Hi my name is Ismael Ortiz I am a Florida resident, who works for CR England, I have been an employee for over 2 years, I am currently being held at cr England Laredo, due to the situation of me reporting that the trucks cause a known code of the Prisions Called Lights Out, I have reported this to the company and it has fell on heavyandate for resolution, being that maybe the equipment is expensive the Englands have chosen a negative path of hiding and evading the mandate, since I have done nothing wrong the Fed allowed me to back in, under protection from termination, The Englands have come to a decision to inbound the truck with no rights or moves to terminate, they have me here locked in, and I need my job due to my various debts, (Also even if such activities were legal l'm to report to the Davenport Florida location, doing 3 months out my equipments are way too in e-cards of a bus) and therefore since I am the legal party under protection from termination, on either sides of the boards, and with refusal to exit employment especially in Laredo TX the employer is holding me hostage, assistance is needed. Photos of the mandated equipment is listed even other companies have started making the moves to resolve the prison lights out.

CDL school Valparaiso, IN
I was attending CDL school in Valparaiso, IN. It is a 12-day class, and I was on day 9. I was assigned a Target account out of Florida. I received a phone call on my lunch break on day 9. Stating that they had to get rid of 30 drivers and that they no longer have a position for me. Within 3 hours of that phone call CR England had made arrangements to fly...

Approximately 7:55 a.m., 08/31/22 northbound on highway 281 entering the town of Hico, Texas. I pulled out into the intersection taking the shoulder so truck driver could pass around me. As he passed, he crossed the line on the shoulder missing my side view mirror. I pulled onto the highway behind the trucker when he began break checking me. It had been raining most of the day yesterday and roads were wet this morning; so, this made this a dangerous situation. He continues to slow down breaking in front of me almost stopping the truck in a 55 mph speed zone. I tried checking around the truck to see if there was something in front of him and there was nothing. I then figured out he was mad because he had to pass me on the shoulder — I don’t know — I’m guessing. I know that they do not like to be brake checked and it goes both ways. People who do this are bullies and do not belong behind a professional vehicle. His trailer number was 26487. I was able to take a photo of the trailer as he approached the hwy 281 intersection in Hico.
Desired outcome: I would like this driver to be reprimanded for his careless and aggressive driving.
Driver
On I 66 near exit 53, in Virginia, on February 26,2022 approximately 12:20 am a driver in a CR Englund cab pulling a Target trailer almost hit my vehicle while traffic was merging during road construction. He was so close to my vehicle that I could touch his truck out my window when he stopped. 147547 was the number on the trailer and the license plate on the trailer was a Maine plate 33 23567, semi permanent trailer plate. The driver then yelled out the window at me after I beeped the horn cause he almost hit me. He was very erratic and irresponsible to be driver such a huge powerful vehicle.
Desired outcome: Reprimanded and coached
Drivers blocking. Access gate
I work in Fontana California, we regularly have C. R England drivers block our gate, today was no exception.. Talking with drive what he was doing and was very rude, giving me his middle finger.. how is this acceptable from someone representing your company? We have work to do just as he does.. Not allowing me to enter our premises, also getting upset when told he was blocking our gate..
Pay/wages
I worked at CR England in Casa Grande, AZ. They continued to place me in vehicles that put ne at risk for DOT Violations. I walked off the job after being expected to drive with a log book showing I had been active since the day prior. I have not received pay. They claimed they paid me in advance but did not. I responded to corporate but they never followed up. I will be seeking legal action. If not resolved. I ended my employment on July 17 2021

Backwards hiring practices
I was scheduled to begin school on 11/15/21. I was assured repeatedly that everything was fine after I repeatedly asked about my background. I was given general qualifiers for backgrounds. I was ok with them all. I was told to quit my job BEFORE my background check came back. On my last day at work, I was sent an email telling me that I would no longer be attending school in Utah because of my background. So, now I am unemployed because of the horrifically unprofessional practices of the reps of the company. I can not be the only one this has happened to; it was done too easily.
Training is inadequate
First of all, the recruiter mislead me from the get go, I didn't know till I arrived at the training facility that I was mislead and I voiced it to him. He told me that I will be place in a room with another induvial, instead I was in a room with 5 other individuals, thankfully, I was able to volunteer myself to go to a hotel room for two. Second, when I was going through my final stages of going into the mentorship, I had to pay for my own transportation after class... I mean, what kind of help is that? and you guys prices for food is up there with NYC prices, it would be nice for future reference to come down with those prices for students that are not making any money for 2 to 3 weeks.
Now, the mentor that was assigned to me was not qualified to be a mentor to anyone, there's a level of expectation when meeting a mentor and he didn't inspired me to use him as a model at all.
I left because you guys placed me with a mentor that was at best inadequate for the role of a mentor. I was just trying to get my hours to move on to the next phase, that's why I stood with him for this long (3 weeks) and for him to take another job and prolonged my training... that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Now, I have plenty of audio and videos to backup everything that I have said and some. The man was rude, unethical and not allowing me to to have proper rest when I asked him for. I have him yelling, demanding and causing more confusion than actually training me. If you look at all the paper work, he's done it all; except for one time that he had me filled out one, he did all Qualcomm whenever I was either driving or sleeping. It was just this past week that he was cramming all have to learn for it. I don't know how to do transflow and a bunch of other stuff.
He's only concerned about himself and getting his miles, I don't know what kind of procedures you guys do to allow a person like that to train someone, but is not good.
Plus, I didn't get enough training for backing into a dock, he would ask if I wanted to practice after I would finish driving an full shift (9/11 hours)... I mean who does that? I would decline the offer cause I would be too exhausted. And the times that he would provide training, it was miserable. He would instruct me in what to do and I would follow orders and I would get it wrong and will would yell at me for getting it wrong... what kind of madness is that? I'm following his direction and yet he yells at me for getting it wrong?! I have audio confronting him about it.
How am I supposed to have confidence on someone that can't properly do his part? Plus the man struggles with everything. Call logs and see how many times he called, how am I supposed to learn from someone who isn't sure of what he's doing? I Checkout with him, I wasn't really processing anything he was saying to me because of his lack of knowing his stuff, I don't think is fair to have someone so inadequate to be teaching and it doesn't install confidence in anyone (my personal thoughts).
Overall, It wasn't a pleasant experience at all and stress the hell out of me.
I'm debating what to do with all this information that I have. It would be nice if you guys revoke my loan and wipe clean. Cause it's definitely not worth it.
I have met all the requirements to move on the next phase and I will appreciate if you guys give the credentials saying so. I've done all modules and driving hours requirements.
Desired outcome: Loan wiped and possibly some compensation for the abuse
Hiring policy
This company lies to you so be very careful about working for them. There is a recruiter by the name of Victor Flechia. He promised a dedicated, route and training (I already have a CDL permit) then stopped returning my calls when I expressed interest. I called the C.R. England head office to complain. They claim they don't know what office he works out of BUT the rep I spoke with knew him by first and last name and the fact he lies to potential drivers, LOL!
Before dealing with C.R. England, check out all their other negative reviews on Indeed and other sites. They really suck! I found a much more reputable company who makes these guys look like the scam artists they are.
Drivers recklessness
Good morning!
First off, I don't usually make an issue out of tractor/trailer drivers. I know it's a hard job, as three of my relatives are coast to coast drisqs.|..vers.
This morning, while driving south on 6th street in Klamath Falls, had one of your drivers "jockeying" lanes. Apparently he felt the 3 awwws a aaas 5 mph was too slow and didn't apply to him. He cut in front of me then changed to #2 lane
I paced him at 48mph.
That portion of the road turns to 45mph about .5 mile from this area (Patterson snd 6th). The #1 lane becomes 140, #2 lane continues towards CA line and link to Hey 97.
The driver fell in behind me (#1) lane. I was traveling at 48 mph and he obviously knew the lane ended so felt compelled to tailgate at about 8' to 10', so close I could not see his front plate. He then forced his way back into #2 lane, causing the vehicle established in the lane to break and let him in.
When he got up next to me I gave him the loser sign. He returned with waving his middle finger at me.
I was a cop for 30 years in CA, this guys behavior wasn't only dangerous and illegal, but it's grounds to compel a reaction with road rage.
This was at 0818 hrs on 08/09/21. His trailer number is #7522, located right below the "hiring drivers" info.
I appreciate your attention to this mishap.
Regards
Mitchell Martin

Driver conduct while in a company vehicle
I am concerned about a YouTube video that your driver named Thomas Kestner posted called "Watch 'to the LBGTQ Community' ". He posted this on YouTube a few days ago. This is the link:
https://youtu.be/je2z6wBiEFI
This video is very hateful to the LBGTQ community. I don't know if this represents how your company feels about this community. It was filmed in the back of your truck he drives on the road with other drivers who may be part of LBGTQ community. Thomas Kestner lives in Crete, Illinois. I would appreciate if someone would talk to him about his conduct while he is on the road in your truck representing your company.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary Action or job termination
Trucks parked in residential neighborhood
C . R. England trucks sit in front of my house all night with engine running . This is a local code violation. I live in a residential neighborhood . This is not a truckstop. I guess my only option is to hire am attorney and sue C.R. England. The truck sits all runs engine and refrigeration unit all night long . This has been going on for way to long. This is a violation the city of Jackson Michigan ordinance sec17-79 subsection 4 stated Creates or emits a sound which at any one time is in excess of seventy 70 dba as measured on a sound level meter using a weighted network from any point at least fifty 50 beyond the property boundary of the location of such use or operation.
Desired outcome: Win lawsuit
Driver threats to do bodily harm.
Today, I was waiting and waiting to pull up to a fuel island but there were three lanes and no one in the three lanes were buying fuel... This driver for C R England in truck number 53659 who parked for a long time blocking the fuel islands come out with a cup of coffee. I walked over and took a picture of his truck and also himself sitting inside... He rolled down his window and said to me, "What he F#%@ are you shooting my picture?" I said because he was discourteous by blocking the lanes so no one else can buy fuel and was he too lazy to park like out drivers when they go inside the rest area for coffee or food. My gosh, you would have thought I attacked is family or something. He jumps out of his truck and threatens to kick my [censor], put me in the hospital... and I told him he was on video and pointed to the camera's over his head... For fear of being hurt, I went back to my truck and decided I would contact C R England about this crazed, out of control driver they have representing them... Another driver told me I should call the police because he was actually assaulting me... So it's sad that people like this should even be in the public environment... His photo is attached to verify who he actually is... The Indian Hills rest area on the Ohio turnpike should have plenty of video of this violent man with absolutely no consideration for others...
Unprofessional recruiter
Beware of this company / recruiter -
She will lie thru her teeth to get applicants.
It's a shame that a company this size hires these kinds of recruiters...
Because of her - and her emails and welcome letter - my husband put in his 2 weeks notice -
Had his date, time and location for his training - and 1 day prior - candace hays calls and cancels it all.
She played a game that has costed my husband's job, pay checks and benefits; this is truly unacceptable that someone can destroyed someone life -
Because she can't do her job properly, without any repercussion"s for her actions to others.
Candace hays - who claims she's an experienced driving recruiter, re-hire specialist and partner school rep.
Is a disgrace to your company.
This women needs to be filed:
Candace hays

C. R. England
Threatened job, liars
Cr england lied to my husband from the get go with pay information. He completed school. He is now at his 5.5 month. He is a trainer (without trainer pay). They gave him his second "student" but his pay won't be in affect until next month! But this student (God bless him, because he can not help it) cr england is wrong for this. As soon as my husband met him he had hygiene issues, he let cr england know, they said "you will just need to remind him to shower" that's bull crap. Our kids are home. Remind you he is not even getting trainer pay. This student is supposed to be 6 months experience. He couldn't keep truck in lane, in the rain "going down the road like a snake", wouldn't keep two hands on wheel, saw a minimum speed sign and dropped speed down to 40. Really? That's a common road sign. My husband asked him where he went to school, he named 3 states, my husband was like, "no, did you go to cr england school", the student replied "I just passed" really? The student obviously at this point, not mentally capable of training. He can't hold truck in lane, when getting on expressway was trying to use jake brake. Really? And he is suppose to be 6 months experience? My husband called all departments in the company and told them situation, they tell him "we are not setting you up", who said that? Ok now they tell him if he doesn't keep him on the truck for 40 hours, he won't be able to be a trainer. That's not fair when this man is mentally incapable of training! He can't hold truck in lane. Doesn't listen or even comprehend simple road signs and direction. Then my husband said just forget it it I quit, company tells him well if you abandon load, we will put in doc report and you won't be able to get another job! Wow. So that's what they meant "we're not setting you up". Ok now it's dark and raining, he is swerving out of control my husband called after hours and gave brief explanation of what was going on and after hours (Thank god) found the nearest trick stop for them to get off. Then they wanna tell him that he had to give up load and figure out what the student was going to do
Not my husband responsibility, but they are messing with his money like always. Be aware of the lies of this company. We are struggling to keep our home. They lied about pay from day one! Be safe.
Driver breaking traffic laws
To whom it may concern,
This morning in San Diego, there was a traffic backup due to and accident on the highway. After sitting motionless for quite some time, it was finally my opportunity to enter the highway entrance once my light had changed permitting me to do so. Just before that would happen a C.R. England truck will swing a right turn into the entryway, from the far left lane, which is a straight only lane blocking the flow of traffic behind him and from the opposing left turn lanes. Cars behind him were laying on their horns as he sat for 15 minutes without a care. As he eventually glanced over in my direction, I gestured my hand in the fashion of "what are you doing?", He responded with a middle finger to my family and I. If I were alone I would have been irritated and went about my day, but my children were in the car and his attitude and blatant disrespect was absolutely unwarranted.
I was so taken back but this exchange that I failed to get the cab number in its entirety, but "599--" stands out in my mind. It was entering the westbound highway 52, at 8 A.M.
I can't imagine your company condones behavior like this, but I suppose not all representatives of a company are going to present them in a good light.
Trucking
We are about to lose our home even though the recruiters said oh don't stress we will help and I was never able to get a hold of them once my husband was reeled in I ended up under so much stress I had a heart attack trying to pay all bills on an $87, now a. $66 check I don't want to lose my home my husband is sitting in a truck right now and gas been since thursday waiting a load we don't think will ever come it's now monday and his dm alex knows he is in that truck waiting not sure how far that truck will make it and we are fixing to get utilities shut off these people are not lying please something has to be done pleased help us e trusted them and my husband is being humiliated and he us such a kind man but how many people have to lose everything before something is done I want to sue them, my doctor can tell you my hear attack was due to nothing but stress and now the damage is so bad i'm in heart failure so please help us we are not lying
Sincerely,
Helpless in oklahoma and advocate for others who are not lying
Not family oriented
My son applied to cr england, he went through the training and got his cdl through the school in harrisburg, pa. He went out with a trainer until his trainer had gotten suspended for allowing him to drive during the hours he was not allowed too. He had to wait for another trainer while he was in harrisburg instead of them allowing him to come home to spend...
