Booking.com hotel booking service called booking.com

I booked a hotel for my trip to Chennai on 10th Jan 2016 thru booking.com. My Booking number: [protected] I received a confirmation for my stay at this hotel from booking.com and they reconfirmed it and followed it up with reminders wishing me a pleasant stay. I showed up at the hotel after along drive from the airport and was surprised to see that the hotel had changed management and its name recently. They obviously didn't acknowledge or accept my booking and summarily declined to make a room available. I was also informed that the property had changed hands more than 3 months ago. In fact i had booked the same property for an earlier trip planned for the last week of Nov and received the same kind of confirmation from booking.com. I was forced to cancel that booking due to the city getting flooded. This is the most unusual and agonizing experience i have had with reservations. My wife and I were forced to shack up with friends and start hunting a suitable hotel for our 36 hour stay in the city. Clearly booking.com is at best an incompetent operation or at worst a scam. they freely hand out ghost bookings and don't have a mechanism to confirm the bookings with the properties. I am just fortunate that i chose to not use my credit card on this site. Please BEWARE. never again pay through booking.com even if you use it to browse options. Suresh Iyer

Booking.com scam site

I wanted to share my recent experience with Booking.com. I booked a hotel back in October 2015. I booked 2 rooms, because we were 2 adults and 2 kids. They charged my credit card for both rooms. When we arrived, there was only one room prepared for our family. I contacted customer service, they said how sorry they were, but there was nothing hey could do. Their agent assured me I would be refunded. Several minutes later they called me back and told they found us another hotel (for which I paid again). Few months passed and still no money. I called the customer service, they are now refusing to refund me, because the hotel doesn't want to refund them!

Booking.com misleading about rate / currency when reserving

I booked a room on Booking.com and it was quoted all in £gbp as 'best rate'. It was the best rate we found but when the booking reservation came through the price was confirmed as fixed in euro not £. I called to complain and they maintained that it was made clear that the price would be paid in the hotel's own currency. that would be fine except that it did not state that the price confirmed was converted to euro so suddenly we are now exposed to exchange rates at the point payment will be taken. have been back over the process and all the way through the price is given in £ with no mention that the price is now fixed in euro. This is totally misleading. At the end of the reservation it clearly states £375 = €510 and not €510 = £375

Booking.com privacy

Booking.com and their associate hotel - The Renaissance by Marriott in Boca Raton took my private info when I booked two rooms for two weeks - $7, 600.00 and then it appears shared my personal information concerning our deal with third parties, including but not limited to Robert B. Schatz an attorney working for Audi of America a division of The Volkswagen Group who has recently been exposed in a humongous worldwide consumer fraud. I would suggest you really think very hard and seriously about using Booking.com for a trip if they cannot be trusted to honor their privacy agreement.

Booking.com accurate listing of room details is broken, and they won't fix it

I am not totally sure if this is a problem with booking.com or with Kayak, but there is a problem with the android app that these companies use. The problem relates to the display of details for the rooms. In some cases, when you are selecting a room from a specific hotel, it will not display the details for the room, such as whether it is non-smoking, etc. This caused me to accidentally book a smoking room when I wanted a normal room, and by the time I checked the booking the night of the check in, it was too late. The hotel was not able to transfer me to a different room, and both Booking.com and Kayak.com refused to help me with this, despite the problem with their app. Beware their app, and beware their ridiculous customer service.

Booking.com dishonesty

During april & june 2015 we enquired about accommodation in naples italy and wanted quotes. When filling in the forms they ask for credit card detail except the 3 numbers on the back off the card. We got the quotes but did not accept the quotes. The 2 hotels in question is hotel magri. S and andris hotel. When we came back to rsa we noticed that our absa credit card has been debited from magri's hotel for r4429.28 and andris hotel with r15532.67. The was for a family holiday to celebrate my 70th birthday in italy. This is a lot of money for the normal person what still about pensioners, the saying the rich will always steel from the poor. What a disgrace never ever will I use booking. com again. Reading through other complaints about booking. com it all seems to boil down to the same trick dishonest the site should be closed down. All I can say is dont use booking. com. Use trip advisor very good and trustworthy. Booking>com sharks ! Sharks! Watch out

Booking.com hotel fee charged although it was a free cancellation res'n, they don'pay me back

I have made a free cancellation for 7 nights for our Rome visit between 26th of March-2nd of April 2016 at EXE Hotel Della Torre Argentina via Booking.com on 30th of November 2015. In around 10 hours I have cancelled the reservation and the cancellation confirmation has come right away from Booking.com. After a few days I have realized that the hotel has charged the total fee (€1085.20) from my credit card that day! My reservation Nr. is: 888.385.082. I have sent e-mails to both Booking.com customer service and the hotel and received no feedback. Then I have called Booking.com and the personell told me I have right and he would talk to the hotel. Then he called again and said that I am absolutely right and they will do their best to solve the problem as soon as possible. Then I have recieved an e-mail stating that together with the hotel, they will solve the problem and I will definitely get my money back as soon as possible. The nexd day they have sent an e-mail demanding the document showing that the hotel has charged me. I have sent it in a few minutes. After that nothing happened and on 10th of December a Booking.com staff has called me from Berlin (+44-[protected]) and told me that they are trying to solve the problem with the hotel. He said that my free cancellation reservation is seen as a final reservation at the hotel's systemand the hotel is trying to solve why such a thing has happened. I have told him that I don't understand why I have to wait for them to solve their problem, they may at the same time pay me back and continue searching the causes. The Booking.com personell told me that if the hotel won't pay the money back in five days, Booking.com will pay me the amount and it will take 3-7 days because of some bureacratic operations. Today is 21st and nothing happened. I have sent e-mails asking about the situation and got no answer. I have read many similar complaints about booking.com and I now understand that we have to sue Booking.com for its illegal actions to get our money back. I hope the problem will be solved in a short time because I am a retired person and fell in a bad situation financially. Aysegul Pamukcu

I neither confirmed nor entered my card details again! So i had to cancel this new one and guess what there was a cancelation fee of 15 euros! ı sent them 3 mails via their customer service and reminded that it is illegal to use ones' credit cart without their permission! But recevied no answer. This is basicay pulling out money from peoples' pocket. I dont recommed using this site, they are not trustfull. Booking.com lie and cheat

If I could give a negative I would. They lie and cheat and when they say it is the last room it is not. Go directly to the hotel or motel they advertise as you will get the truth and the best deal. Booking. com puts one price on their site and then when you turn up to the hotel or motel it is around 100.00 more. Also they do not give confirmation and they tell lies. Someone needs to sue this company as they are rude and unprofessional and so dishonest. Warn everyone about this company.

Booking.com unethical / inconsistent policies

I booked a room at Lake Placid in Whistler BC through booking.com on a Wednesday (October 14) night at approximately 10:50pm. Thursday (Oct 15)at approximately 6am I found out that my uncle had passed away. I called the hotel by 8:30am that morning. They told me they didn't care that I had a had another family death this month and that that is the risk you take... Then they hung up on me. I emailed booking.com and they told me there was nothing they could do, because they were unable to resell the room. Even though in corespondence they told me they couldn't do anything for me because it was after 3pm on a Friday- they couldn't resell- I asked for clarification due to the fact that it was before 9am on the Thursday- and they just never responded. This is no worst experience with customer service- I was treated horribly because I had had another family death. This is so sad to me. where is the empathy, or compassion? Both companies clearly only care about the money

Booking.com hotel reservation scam

I have just made a reservation yesterday with another website (Agoda). However, this morning I got an e-mail regarding my booking, requiring my credit card details. Here's the note: "Don’t worry – your booking is still confirmed! But to secure it, you must provide a valid credit card within 24 hours." As I was off to an early meeting, I responded with my credit card details, thinking it was the Agoda booking I made, which is supposed to be for payment at the hotel. This reservation with Agoda cannot be cancelled although my credit card will not be charged. Once you click the button "submit your credit card details", it will lead you to the booking confirmation page. A few minutes after, I got a booking confirmation from Booking.com via SMS with contact name stated only as "Booking". When I returned to my office, I noticed that the booking confirmation was from Booking.com and not Agoda. If Booking.com will not reverse this booking SINCE I DID NOT BOOK WITH THEM. I was tricked into providing my credit card details. It will now appear as if I have intended to book for the same hotel on the same date twice. It's just that Agoda is allowing me to pay at the hotel and will not charge my credit card. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE BOOKING.COM.

Booking.com customer service, misreprestations

I made a reservation through booking.com and was told I had until 10/31/15 to cancel my reservation without being charged. I canceled my reservation on 10/27/15 and received a confirmation email from booking.com that it was cancelled and there wasn't a charge. Sure enough, today (10/28/15) my credit card was charged. I called customer service for booking.com - first person I spoke with told me there was nothing she could do - didn't know why I was charged and to contact the hotel. She refused to transfer me to a manager. I called back and spoke to someone else. She was more helpful as she called the hotel but she was unable to resolve it. I finally had to call my bank which issues my credit card and dispute the charges to get my money refunded. Never will I use this company again - it was the first and last time !

Booking.com never give credit / debit card number

I had security incident on booking.com. It allows pay hotel deposit above my limit for internet payments. This is due fact, that payment is not provided by booking.com but booking.com will send your credit card number to hotel and hotel will charge you card using POS. Therefore there is no way how protect your card setting limits for internet payment. I complained to mastercard, they did nothing. The only way is do not use credit/debet card on booking com.

Booking.com robbed by booking.com by the name of cancellation fee

I was robbed by booking.com !

I was a very frequent user of this site until the last month. I placed an order through booking.com, but did not get any confirmation through the system. That was becasue of a technical problem with my transaction. I have placed another order, for the very same hotel.

Coming back home from the vacation, I figured out my credit card was charged twice by the same hotel (Hotel Elba- Berlin). Asking booking.com and the relevant hotel for a refund gave me a chilled response. They both removed all responsibility from themselves.
That was all my fault. I was robbed € 230 as cancellation fee.

Apparently, there was a typo in the e-mail address I gave on my 1st order. The fact that booking.com should have received received error messages saying the email address is wrong did lit any red light for the company. But they had my credit card number and that's what was important.

I will never ever use booking.com, again. They take no responsibility for their mistakes, and leave you alone to cope with the hotel to whom they gave your credit card !

Stay away from booking.com ! contact the hotels/travel agency directly !

Booking.com they deleted my valid review.

Hello. I had stayed at Nova Park Hotel which was booked directly from booking.com. I had a horrendous experience. The website disabled the post with my review. I was very upset because they did this to protect themselves and the hotel. However, my review was valid and instead of assisting me they neglected me. I emailed them on three occasions and they declined to respond to my emails. I am upset because I was a good customer who had used their website often. To my dismay they disabled my valid review and neglected me as a customer. I will never use their service ever again. To think they keep hotels on their page who are this terrible is heartbreaking. Then to delete an honest review from a customer; that is just not fair. I do not recommend this website to anyone. They never assisted me in a refund nor cared about me at all.

Booking.com terrible company

When you give your credit card details to this company, you are not paying securely over thier server. They are using your card details to make a booking direct with the hotel.
As a consequence, I was debited for a £140 overseas banking charge on a large group booking for work. Imagine if you owned a business and you took an order from a customer by card. Would you even dream of then, taking those card details to make the order with your supplier? No neither would i. Is this even legal?
Oh, and don't bother to call their complaints line either. It's based in the netherlands and they don't give two hoots! Avoid this website at all costs.
