Anyone who lives in Baton Rouge knows how inflexible our water company is. Forget about getting an extension, and if you are young and just starting out, i.e. no credit to speak of, you can expect to pay up to $150.00 for your water service deposit.
If you are lucky enough to actually get service, you WILL be subjected to some of the rudest women in Baton Rouge, bar none. But this is not my complaint.
My complaint is this- for the last 8 business days I have repeatedly (stay at home mom, here, so I do mean REPEATEDLY) called [protected] in an attempt to reach customer service("we are experiencing high call volume, please try again later, and then it hangs up you) so that I can let them know that their automatic draft from my bank account needs to be updated. The account has been closed, and a new one opened. They will not get their money, and knowing them, will likely disconnect me before I ever get through to them with the new information. Would love to go visit them, but have no transportation. What to do, what to do.
I tried pressing the option for 'water leak emergency", so I could at least speak to a real person. Well, I got something, but I doubt she was anything like a real person. I think I could take great pleasure in peeling her skin from her flesh and cramming it in her smart mouth.
That's my beef with the Baton Rouge Water Company.

    We have been disconnected again for the second time in 7 days. The last time we paid the bill and turned the water back on, now they have taken the meter too so it is impossible to turn it back on even though the bill has been paid. Of course they do this at 3 to 5 in the afternoon without letting anyone know they are doing it so you can not do anything about it.
    This is a safety issue for many people especially in the summer when it is so hot and you need to cool off.
    There needs to be an alternative water company in Baton Rouge for people to use and maybe they would not be so rude and uncaring to there customers.

    Governor/Mayor do something about this company who has us held hostage!!!

    Baton Rouge Water Company is ABUSIVE and unethical in regards to the treatment of their customers.

    They had better be glad they have no competition. It's the only reason they get away with their complete lack of concern for the well being of their customers.

    Dig a well if you can. These people are evil.

    Baton Rouge water is the WORSE company I've ever dealt with...
    I called in to pay my bill, I asked the representative for the total amount water and sewer she said $194. I said and that will give me a "0" ZERO BALANCE !! She replied YES!! I made the payment and got a confirmation #
    10 minutes later I get several call from BR WATER saying we reversed your payment and your water is disconnected. You have to pay $194+$80 I WAS UPSET they had the nerve to be rude about it with no explanation. I asked for her supervisor she hung the phone up. I contacted the public service commissioner; they called the br water and listened to the call agreeing with me that the payment was made and that should be that. Public service called me back with no HELP. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYBODY, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY NO MATTER WHAT. Next step BBB WAFB CEO

    HELP ME UNDERSTAND PLEASE WHY CAN YOU NOT VIEW YOUR BILL ONLINE? THE WEBSITE STATES THAT WEBSITES CAN BE COMPROMISED, (OK NO PROBLEM) SO YOU CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE ONLINE BILLING, WELL THAT IS TRUE WEBSITES CAN BE HACKED BUT EVEN ON GOVERNMENT WEBSITES YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY, AND EVERY BUSINESS IS ONLINE EXCEPT YOURS, THAT SEEMS A LITTLE FISHY IF YOU ASK ME!!! EXPLAIN HOW I CANNOT VIEW MY BILL BECAUSE THE SITE MAY BE COMPROMISED BUT YOU DAMN SURE LET ME PUT MY CREDIT CARD INFO FOR PAYMENTS, THAT CAN BE COMPROMISED ALSO, CORRECT? BUT, THEN THAT IS MY INFO/MONEY THAT WILL BE COMPROMISED NOT YOURS RIGHT, SO PLEASE EXPLAIN WHERE THAT IS ACTUALLY GIVING A CRAP ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS??? THEN HERE IS MY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE RUDE, GHETTO, NO G.E.D HAVING IMBECILES, LOW IQ, SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS: I have Leukemia and recently (2 weeks ago) I had spinal surgery, I moved to Baton Rouge to be closer to my doctors and I have been here 3 months and I don't have any family here, nor a mother or father at all, and while being in the hospital they shut my water off and I hadn't received a bill, I made sure all of my bills were paid before entering the hospital so I could relax when I got home. I called to see if I can set up something so this would not happen again, perhaps if I am sick and need to be hospitalized but when I called a woman named Laticia, bonqueesha, Umfoofoo something like that, told me they do not have programs for people like myself and that I just have to find someone to pay my bills for me. Trust when I tell you I hate this company, I really do! Just plain rude & disrespectful, they do not care about their customers whatsoever!! I paid $255 to turn back on a $102 bill! Thank you for your rude service. I actually hate you!!!
