Artistic Refinishing, Inc., also doing business as Appliance Artistry in Boca Raton, FL, charged $249.00 to strip and refinish my bathtub. This business is owned and operated by Alfred McCabe. Its address a postal box in a shopping center store in Boca Raton, Florida, at 160 W Camino Real, #121. The phone number is [protected]. When the contractor for Artistic Refinishing was about to paint the tub, I ask him the reason the old paint had not been stripped from the tub (as I was charged for that service). The contractor told me that the owner told him not to strip the tub and to paint over it after a light wet sanding in several spots. As a result the paint applied by Artistic Refinishing, Inc. became “orange peeled” and bubbled away from the tub in places. Alfred McCabe promised a high gloss smooth finish. Overall the paint has a gritty, sandy texture. Currently there is no paint on the tub in two sections. The paint cracked and bubbled around the drain without use. Alfred McCabe promised to return to repair the problems and confirmed it in person and by phone and never showed up or returned phone calls on the date the repairs were to be made. This company promises a warranty but did not finish the job in an acceptable manner when problems occurred. 1. Artistic Refinishing charged for services it did not provide. 2. The work on this job is still not finished. 3. Alfred McCabe refuses to complete the job. 4. Artistic Refinishing, Inc. claims to provide warranty service. There is no warranty service provided on this job to date.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Not all companies stand behind their work these days. I found out Artistic Refinishing does exactly what they promise, and they provide superior customer service.
We needed some updates to our kitchen and bathroom. With professional refinishing and re-glazing from Artistic Refinishing, our house is looking better than ever. We are beyond pleased with the results.
I was in the market for new cabinets when I heard about Artistic Refinishing. They fixed my old cabinets for a reasonable price and left them looking magnificent! Everyone compliments the appearance of my kitchen because of the great cabinets! I cannot thank this team enough for a job well-done .
I find it hard to believe that most of these comments are so far in the derogatory, as well as defamatory. Alfred McCabe, Artistic Refinishing, Inc. has done several of my refinishing jobs,
in multiple homes, with different technicians, and I have had nothing but a positive experience
each time. They DO INDEED provide a warranty, as well as care instructions. Only once, did I
need to have a technician come out for a repair (which was covered under the warranty), not
only did they answer the phone, but I was booked within 2 days of the call.
Beware of false reviews, put out by competitors. I would HIGHLY recommend Artistic Refinishing
to anyone interested in a less expensive way to "face-lift" a bathroom or kitchen cabinets/counter-tops.
Artistic Refinishing reglazed my tub with a new color, and I am so pleased. I would refer them to all my friends and family
I also, had the same problem. They refinished a tub and a tub with tile surround. Both areas bubbled and peeled. It looks worse than before .
I got the royal runaround when I contacted the owner, Alfred McCabe. They promised everything and delivered an inferior product. Now I was forced to do a complete tear out and start fresh. I replaced the tub and did a new tile job. Couldent be happier only regret is I happened upon Artistic Refinishing ... never again.
I'm having the same problem. They did come out once to refinish but the tub pealed again and I have called and no one is calling back. When the work was original done, the laborer did not speak English, it took twice as long to do the job. Also, the smell was NOT properly ventilated. The laborer also turned my toilet with out turning off the water and it resulted in a huge leak ( bathroom is on the second floor) .. Do not use this company. I'm going to the BBB to report them.
