Strafford Adjusters/Strafford Construction are rated 4.8 on Google Reviews, and have an "A" rating at the BBB. We just discovered this smear site, and hopefully your situation was resolved--but you didn't come here for resolution did you? You came here to tell a crooked version of "your story".

As noted elsewhere, Strafford is highly rated on other legitimate sites, and we just found this one a bit late.

The only people who downgrade our company come in several shades of "not so legitimate" themselves, as follows:

1) people who tried to skim the settlement checks for a kickback, which we don't do for ethical reasons.
2) people who violate our contract and agreement
3) people who use our adjusters service, and then try to take the money from the settlement and try to give it to their BROTHER-IN-LAW to do a shoddy job and keep some cash in the family

While it appears that you had some negative experience,and of course we apologize for that--it also appears that anyone can say anything on the internet. You could have just called Sid Shah, he's probably the most accessible guy online, his number is everywhere, and he always picks up the phone.

To be honest, this reads like a [censored] review on one of those wannabe BBB sites, blackmailing business owners to use their site.

If it's not that, it's probably some wanker who got that first settlement check and tried to cash it at the casino--these types are THE ONLY ONES who go out of their way to smear a business

We had a great experience with Strafford Construction Co. They replaced our siding due to hail & wind damage. They dealt with our insurance company entirely to get the job approved. The job was completed in one day and it looks nice! All of the employees we dealt with were nice, knowledgeable and professional. These include Anna, Donna, Jason and Sandra. All calls were returned quickly if we had any questions/concerns. We highly recommend this company.

We are highly satisfied with the work Strafford completed for us while putting new siding on our 1986 robins egg blue and beige horrid mess. From the first contact with Donna to Jason acting as our "middleman" to Sandra overseeing our project, they were open and honest, answered all our questions, and made themselves available to us at every step during our home's re-siding. Jason in particular was immensely helpful as he was our point of contact after the initial consultations with Donna. The house crew themselves were FANTASTIC! Watching the crew work was like watching a ballet. They were fast, thorough, safety-conscious, and cleaned up after all the work was done. Our house is roughly 1480 square feet/two stories and they had the old siding off and new siding up in one day. What they did not complete on that first day - the "fit, finish, & polish" work - they came back to do a day or so later (due to rainy weather). The work was also completed during the middle of the pandemic, so it's important to me to note that everyone was properly face-masked and adhered to 6+ foot distance apart whenever we had to go over items for the house. If things could be done over phone/text/email, they were. Overall, they were great in terms of adhering to proper pandemic safety precautions. There were a few spots once the project was completed that needed to be repaired or that weren't right and there was absolutely zero issues getting a few of crew out to fix it. While the ENTIRE process - from first contact with Donna to Project Complete - took quite a while due the pandemic restrictions, we are super happy with the results. Our home looks amazing now and we're so so happy we decided to give Strafford a chance.

When Anna from Strafford did the initial eval I never thought about the nature of the job. Donna was there with us with her recommendations and expertise, answering all questions from selecting the color to the type of material etc. Long story short- I had roof , siding, gutters and garage door replaced by Strafford. It was a major project and once the work started , it was a continuous operation from the roof to the siding to the gutters to garage door. And obviously in a work of this proportion juggling between different teams, team scheduling etc. Is bound to happen. I was so glad that Donna was there as the go to person and it would be done. And I mean even seemingly small details even like a scratch here or there. Would surely recommend Donna , Anna and Strafford without any hesitation.

I worked with Donna at Strafford to get my roof replaced after some extensive hail damage. She was very professional and worked very well with my insurance company to get the claim covered. The Construction team was very organized and efficient. My roof looks great! we are very happy!

My neighbor mentioned Strafford in our neighborhood social media group about her positive experience. I decided to give Matt a call and I'm glad I did. Matt was patient, courteous, professional, knowledgable, and most importantly, always responsive. Same for all of their different crews. If you have had home repairs, you will understand how important, and many time uncommon, to find these attributes in contractors. Matt and Strafford is all of these. From start to finish, our roofing, gutter, and facia work was exception. The work was not without glitches but exception nevertheless because these glitches were promptly addressed. Again, a contractor that is responsive and addressed all of my concerns - exceptional! Give Matt a call. You will be in good hands.

I had them install new siding and gutters. After the work was done I discovered several places on my roof that are damaged. No one will respond to my calls or fix the damage.

Just had new siding and gutters installed. My house looks brand new. We worked with Jason, Donna and Anna. They were very professional and very responsive. At first our insurance company denied the claim. Jason lobbied for us and got our claim approved. The worked who installed the siding were here before 7 and had the job done by 5 PM. They cleaned up everything and hauled it all away. Very happy with the job that Strafford did for us. We will happily recommend them. Evelyn and Tom H.

I tried going to my insurance agent myself in for hail damage but they denied me. BUT Donna and Jason from Strafford new just the things to say to my insurance and proved to them that we did qualify. Your complaint is an outlier, and while we strive for excellence,we can't please everyone, especially people who mistake us for "retail roofers," which we are not.

In other cases, we have homeowners pull some funny business with the settlement checks that come in both the homeowners name, and Straffords name too; or do other things that violate the contract that YOU SIGNED.

We are a full time insurance adjusting firm, who fight for every penny that any insurance policy states that it is liable for.

Only your types leave bad reviews online. Otherwise hundreds of satisfied customers have given Strafford Adjusters an "A" at the BBB (a legit business complaint site) and Strafford DOES NOT DO RETAIL quotes or "estimates." They only do insurance adjusting.

But we do get some negative reviews from the following types of people:

1) people who try to get a "cut" or kickback out of the settlement, and who are then frustrated when they learn we are an honest company
2) people who get the settlement check and then reneg on their contractual obligation
3) people who try to use us to get a larger than usual settlement (we fight insurance companies for every penny) and then use a different contractor or their BROTHER-IN-LAW to do the work

Your husband signed what is called a Public Adjusters Contract, and our reps clearly state that you have five days to cancel it after you sign it. You didn't do that.

There is nothing "sneaky" about a PA contract, which is clear on its face. If this is a legitimate "review" and you feel you were wronged, call Sid Shah--his number is literally everywhere online. He always returns calls--unless of course it's some crank or a competitor on a second tier smear site.

We take pride in the work we have done for thousands of clients, and we couldn't have done that without proper licenses,insurance, etc. So I don't know what you are complaining about exactly, and or if you are even one of our clients.

The biggest part of your complaint appears to be about "the money" and the only people who leave bad reviews about us fall into two general categories:

1) people who want the money for personal use, rather than the work completed
2) people who have violated the contract in some way themselves.

I bet you were one of those who wanted a cut of the settlement check? That perhaps you thought the money was to be used for something other than home repair? Everything you wrote there looks like one of those "complaints" where the settlement check came in, and you wanted something other than the work to be done, is that correct?

You said "They should give you two competitive bids for a contractor, but they didn't give us any."

WE ARE NOT RETAIL ROOFERS. WE DO NOT GIVE "ESTIMATES" OR "BIDS." Your contract clearly spells that out. We are licensed public adjusters that fight for the best settlement possible on EVERY CLAIM.

I can address your smear toe to toe, but why? It is blatantly out of left field. With very few exceptions, the only people who write such "reviews" are people who violated the contract themselves.

I'm calling "b#llsh1t"-"because Strafford is NOT A RETAIL ROOFER, and we do not "bid" for any job ever. How did your review even get on here? This site smells funny to me.

The only negative reviews that we get are from people who violate the terms of the contract, which are standard industry boilerplate, in line with all Illinois laws. All of our paperwork is on file with the state of Illinois--anyone can check that.

You sound upset about the money, more than any other thing.

Why is that exactly? We would love to hear more! Tell us how you feel about "the money" more than the quality of our workmanship, the diligence we demonstrated by fighting for your claim, or something else related to what we actually do?

Frankly, you sound like someone who wanted the money, more than you wanted our service or fine craftsmanship. That's concerning.
