After switching service providers from TXU to Ambit Energy, I was shocked with the LACK of customer service I received from Ambit. This company is quick to answer phone calls related to new service accounts, but when it comes to answering other calls Ambit has continued to frustrate me. I have repeatedly called over and over, but have yet to get someone on the phone. Average waiting times are 30 minutes!!! Ridiculous, think twice before you decide to switch to Ambit...

    I totally agree with what everyone is saying...Ambit is incompetent, horrible customer service, scam artist etc... I've personally experienced all of the above with Ambit. I also currently have 3 complaints with the public utilities commission of Texas a government agencie. I encourage and suggest for everyone with this same Ambit problem to do the same. If enough complaints are reviewed than the public utilities commission will shut them down and they will no longer be in the scaming customers electricity business anymore!!! FED UP WITH AMBIT >>LET US CUSTOMERS UNITE!!!

    I also have complaints in with the PUC! HOPEFULLY they will fix this. I have also complained to the BBB.

    i just got off of the phone with ambit...well, kind of. i've been on hold for an hour and a hal[censored] then i was disconnected!!! i have some questions about my bill because they've severely overcharged me this month. their website is down and i can't get anyone on the phone. freakin ridiculously horrible customer service! this is the first time i've had a problem with ambit and the second time i've waited over an hour to speak with someone. that's enough to make me switch! I'M DONE!

    I "use to be "an Ambit rep., I was on the verge of making good pay, but when the lies were revealed I quit. Not only did I quit, but my hole downline quit. I heard several lies pore out of Chis Chambless and Jerry Thompsons mouth. The most disgusting thing is they profess to be God fearing men. The second most disgusting thing is Jerry is a billionaire and Chris certainly isn't hurting. Oh, I havent confirmed the sources information, but I heard Chris is under serious suspicion for fraud for another company he had prior to Ambit that was a total failure...(** At least TXU tells the truth how they are going to take you to the cleaners**)
    And yes I too have experienced Ambit energy as a customer. My electricity has been turned off for three months from the breaker because I have been away training for work. My bills are $200, $200, and $80...? Seems kind of scammy huh... I researched how to look up my meter records and I discovered that I have to request them from Ambit, which means Ambit might be messing with the numbers $$$ (Oncors website-meters-common Q&A). I emailed all of our congressman about that, requesting since the R.E.P.'s recieve it electronically and can physically go to the website and download our usage, why can't we?... I hope we got them!

    I cannot speak to customer service a year or more ago.

    In the past 3 months, I have contacted customer service 3-4 times and have never waited more than 5 minutes for a representative.

    The rates are great, my calls have been answered quickly and if you refer 15 people you get the average of their bills removed from yours. What other company will do that? What will TXU give me if I send over 30 new customers? 50? 100?

    I'm an Ambit sales rep you should have called the person (sales rep) that set you up .
    I make it a point to take care of the people that I bring into the system, they call me and I answer the question and if not I get them the answer and call them back.
    I take pride in helping all as this is what I'm paid for. All of my personal customers that I have gathered have my home # and my cell.

    How can this be a bad thing me helping people to get FREE energy and vacations of a lifetime - and saving a few bucks in the process.

    Two years with the company and my customers have never filed a complaint.

    Ambit Energy is a great opportunity for people looking save on their energy cost and at the same time help others save on their energy costs. Currently Ambit is the #1 Top earning company as per INC 500 Magazine. Do I need to say any more?

    We just made a major announcement of expanding markets and we are now able to offer the same savings opportunity to small businesses in TX.

    I can go on and on about how great Ambit Energy is. Three thumbs up .. oops sorry I only have two thumbs. :)

    Ambit sucks I want to quit how do I please let me knowI'm tired of working with people who lie to there friends and that makes me look bad and the truth is good enough with this business for god sakes why lie about it.

    WOW! Such ignorant people have posted here!

    Ambit Energy is the fastest growing company in the USA and they did not get that recognition by cheating people, or lying.

    My guess is most of the people here are working for one of Ambit's competitors...

    I work with Ambit as a Regional Consultant. My bill last month was $13.25! Ambit gives you the opportunity to earn free electricity! I join in the comment that I take care of the folks that I bring into the business as well as any of my customers. I also join in the comment that the folks making negative comments are those employed by Ambit's competitors. Recently we had a Reliant rep. come by our house trying to get us to switch. We told him that we were with Ambit neglecting to tell him we were consultants. He started to "bad mouth" Ambit to us by stating things that weren't true in the least. When we revealed that we were consultants he turned different shades of red with embarrassment. We offered him information about Ambit and how to end having to go door-to-door selling energy in the blazing hot Texas sun (triple digit heat) by starting with Ambit as a consultant. We offered him a bottle of water and sent him on his way after giving him our website information ( or ( As a company, our rates have just dropped again! We even offer you a free welcome gift consisting of 3 days and 2 nights at a 3 star hotel in San Antonio or 24 other different locations. What other company gives you a welcome gift and a chance at earning free energy for its customers?! NONE! That's how many! We are the best! If you're not with us, SWITCH! As far as wait time with customer service, they give you the option to leave a message and have customer service call you at a number you provide. Also, Ambit is meticulous regarding billing! We never sacrifice integrity for growth! So, once again, if you're not with us, SWITCH! Thank you and good night.

    I have to to say that Ambit Energy customer service department neds to be re trained. I know first hand working in customer service myself that it is not alway black and white. There is a lot of grey in between. If I had to rate this service I just recieved wih two of the customer services representives from 1-10 ( 10 being awesome) it would be a zero... the customer is not alway right but if the consumer is trying to pay a bill or comply with the terms I see that the company or there employees should work with thw customer. For example: If you are late and they disconnect your power due to non payment you are required to pay a disconnect fee and a reconnect fee and a Deposit. Ok I agree if you ar late you need to comply. You did not pay what ever the circumstances are. But what if you only have enought for the bill and the connection and disconnect fees they are charging. I feel you should pay that and make arrangements for the refundable deposit within a reasonable amount of time. They will not work with you at all. They say no pay all or nothing. What if you can pay the bill and fees today and he deposit tomarrow when you get paid, they say no. It takes talking to two representives to finally transfer me to a supervisor so they quickly say ok we will work wih you. I think it would be so much easier to say let me see if we can help you. No no Ambit will not accept your payment unless it is all of it. I understand rules and policy is what it is but the customer service reps should be traind to listen and be understanding. Tone of voice is everything and the 1st person I talk to was a ### you pretty much said well tuff you should have paid your bill not my problem. I could see if the customer was refusing to pay or wanted a extenion that was to far out, but for less than 24 hours to pay a deposit. I find that ridicoulous. They need to improve ther customer service system and training.

    I totally agree that customer service at Ambit of Texas is a joke...All I wanted was to have new service turned on...I called Aug.6, 2012 was on hold just to get a new line for 22 minutes then they tell me they cant find my address I have to contact ONCOR to get the ESI number. I call ONCOR they give me the number..i call Ambit back...another 23minute hold...give them the ESI number tell them its not the trailer in rear its the house in front by road then was charged 280.00 deposit and was told the service would be on between the 9th and mind u 2 of these days are sat and sunday..on Monday I3th I call at 205pm...the first customer service rep tells me the work order shows it was completed on the 9th...I tell her...I'm at the house and there is no service..she verifies the ESI, address and meter box numbers .She then tells me I have to call ONCOR to see when they will have the service on. They cant do anything about it. So at 248pm I call ONCOR...he tells me that Ambit entered the wrong ESI number and that they need to correct it and resend the work order that I cant do that. After that 20 minute call I call Ambit back...wait on customer service rep to answer the call...18minutes...I try to explain the problem to this rep and she wants to get a attitude with me...I ask for a supervisor...15minutes later I get this lady that asks me for the 12th time what is the address and ESI number...gave it to Ms Additude twice all ready. She then asks me if I'm sure its not a trailer house??? REALLY!!! I inform her yet again it the white HOUSE in the front by the road...I'm sitting in front of it in my car because its 102 outside. She puts me on hold yet again..tells me she has to make a NEW Account since the address, ESI, meter number don't match...WOW!!! So after a while (I have lost all track of time by this point) she tells me that the service will be connected in the next 24 hours...I ask her if I was going to be charged that fee...And she said YES...are u kidding me...not my fault why am I being billed for it...I asked her for the number or address I could call to complain about this run around customer service I was getting...She tells me she could take those complaints...I asked her would anything be resolved...She said NO...So here it is people...DO NOT USE AMBIT ELECTRIC...They WILL SCREW YOU OVER...I will probably regret posting this and will have problem after problem with my monthly billing statement...LIVE AND LEARN...

    Im completely UNHAPPY with AMBIT Energy at the moment...I haven't been a customer for long and I can assure you that NOW AFTER dealing with what I have been dealing with as soon as my term is over I will be switching and NEVER looking back...I received a bill in November (10/2-10/31/13) was 350$ No big deal there BUT I get my invoice for December and my bill is 927$(10/31-12/3/13) Holy Fudge Right...I called to inquire HOW this could be and the ONLY thing I was told that we had inclement weather and maybe that was why the bill was so high! Really? Needless to say I was NOT happy with that response so I ordered a meter reread...Now mind you the inclement weather days didn't occur in November which would've been the month I was charged for and to add insult to injury my January bill was ALSO over 900 which is higher than my MORTAGE so I was basically forced to face having my kids sit in the cold freezing house during winter or get on a payment plan...To make a longer story short I choose the payment plan but Im still not satisfied with the level of customer service that I was received from any of the Ambit reps that Ive spoken with.

    TSL808. I feel for you and am glad to know that there was a payment plan available . I live in AZ and there is no payment plan available with either of our 2 electricity providers (APS and SRP). I guess this is what happens when your state isn't regulated- giving you the consumer the choice...In Arizona - the dessert. The electric is mandatory to keep you cool/stay alive during our average temperatures of 90 plus degrees, and this isn't during the summer... My point is this. It sounds as if its the customer service dept of Ambit that's letting down this company. Not the reward points program. Nor the possibility of getting FREE ELECTRICITY month after month. If Ambit could only get its customer service dept to actually provide a better level of service to its customers. Then i think they would be a force to be reckoned with as their hearts seem to be in the right place...A utility company that OFFERS its customers more than just utilities
