Airtel excessive and wrong bill

I have postpaid connection of Airtel with 1000 Rs credit limit, 299 Rs tariff plan and 98 Rs GPRS plan with 1 GB download free. On 27th May, they suspended my number on the ground on high unbilled amount which they state as approx. 5000 Rs. When I requested them that this is without discount and the plans, they are asking me to pay around 4800 Rs to continue the service, which is actually 4 times than my actual usage but they are saying that they can't do anything until I pay the amount and once the bill will be generated the excess amount will be credited into my account.

Question is why should I pay excess amount and to avoid this only I opted for 299 Rs tariff plan and 98 Rs GPRS plan to end up only to pay the excess amount of 4800 Rs.

Please look into this issue and hope this will be resolved here only, other wise I have look for consumer court option as well.

Airtel Plan discrepancy of [protected] @99 Month

Dear Team,

I would like to inform you that, I had purchased a connection in end of the Mar'12 after purchasing that, i haven't got any benefit as per the plan of 99 rs wherein benefit was 400 Local min and 100 local & national sms and same will be applicable for every month.

Yesterday i called to customer for the information but there was no any such kind information as per my plan, as discussed with Executive he/she told to me that your rental is 99 and you can get only 100 local & STD sms in the same plan. This is my new number which is activated by corporate plan and i have taken this no as per my old No, [protected]. Both no are similar and i want only same plan as above.

Pls confirm once as per status.

Airtel horrible customer service and harassment

I had applied for an Airtel broadband connection in Feb 2012. I had called the airtel toll free number from where I got a contact of an agency near Saidapet (Chennai). They promptly collected the advance of Rs. 1000 ...gave me a CEF form and vanished thereafter. I called the agency several times to check on the status of my connection however they only response I would get was that they were working on it! After 1 month of following up (with the agency and Airtel customer care, I got to know that my CEF number was not even showing up on their system. In mid April I called again and this time the airtel customer service agent confirmed that my CEF number was closed. When I asked for the reason I was told that my area could not be given an Airtel broadbad connection (this is in the heart of Chennai...100m from Rah Bhavan!) When I enquired about the money I had paid as an advance, I was told that it had been re-imbursed to me (I still have not seen a penny!) Despite repeated followups there has not been any progress...I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM AIRTEL (atleast in Chennai). Airtel fraud billing and cheating by plan

Dear Sir,

I am Ariel customer from last 7 years and recently moved to mumbai 2 months back and i have again selected Airtel as my cellular network as i was very happy with the service. I had no issue with Ariel till my last bill. But this month i have got bill for my postpaid no [protected] (Its my new no for Mumbai) is 4709.15 and when i saw the bill they have charged more than 4000 for the GPRS usage when i had taken connection that time i have clearly asked to enable 2G plan on my no which is 98 rupees per month. And i use to visit my data usage in my mobile and when i got my bill i checked it was just 550 mb around. And i called your customer care they told we have not activated 2G plan on your no we have given 200 MB complementary plan on your no for free and u have exceeded 200 mb so we have charge 10 paisa per 10 kb so you have to pay the amount. 12-15 days before my outgoing got barred saying that your credit limit is over again i called customer care they told you need to pay 2050 rupees to start your out going calls and when i asked they told we cannot tell why your usage is high just pay that after bill generation we will credit the amount to your account. I have not got any call from Airtel after taking connection as welcome call to explain the bill plan. I have written the complain to Mumbai nodal officer and they are not ready to reverse the amount. .Now they are Harassing me Please do the needful.

I have taken a personal postpaid connection almost a month back and which is not yet activated. I have complained about the same to customer care 4 times there is no proper responce. This is the worst customer service i have seen. After all these days now they are asking me to go to a Airtel outlet for resolving the same. If this was the case then this could have been informed to me earlier only. Now they dont resopnd.

My mobile no. is [protected] in Dehradun circle. Since last two bills i.e. July & August, I am getting exaggerated amount. I was told by the service provider that I have used no. 53030 in excess. I want to make it clear that I have used this number only twice and that too for downloading only two 'hello tunes'. Please look into my complain and and adjust Rs 1500/- charged in excess. I have serious doubt about cloning of the number.

I had taken Airtel post paid connection in May 2005 & upto April 2007 every thing was clear.

But in May 2007 they had informed over phone that they can renew the same number for Rs. 999.00 & accordingly I had deposited the same amount. But surprisingly they had withdrawn the facility of STD (FROM Airtel to Airtel) in Rs. 1/- with monthly charges of Rs. 30/- without any information, which was running since long .

When I received the bill, I immediately given the mail to them on 121 for the revised bill but they had refused to do so.

After that I had written so may mails for disconnection of my connection mentioning therein to adjust their wrong bills from the advance rental of Rs. 999.00 & they had adjusted the same & Rs. 164.00 was lying credit in my account In July 2007 Bill.

But surprisingly, some idiots has renewed my number without information in August for Rs. 999.00 (as I had already given them so many mails for disconnection) what is the fun.

Now they are harassing me & my family for the payment of wrongly renewal of telephone connection in August 2007, every day over phone.

Someone advise me what should I do. (Should I write to the CMD of Airtel or file a suit for compensation of harassment in consumer court).

Airtel deduction of balance

To ombudsperson,

Would like to draw your kind cooperation in solving my below mentioned query.

I am the user of airtel number from the last 7 years and would not come across any problem so far.

Today I have come to know that my balance is getting deducted between Inr 200-250 and I am not aware of the reason behind the deduction .

Prefer calling to the customer executive I found that these charge deducted because of GPRS charges without any intimation or activation done by me.

So, my question begins now.

1) In case if these services are started I need the complete justification as same has not been informed me when it has started automatically.
2) Please give us the training to your staff if they don’t know how to treat or assist to the customer.

Kindly ensure yourself, if you failed to give me the justification I request you to refund my money else issue can be escalated to TRAI.

Appreciate if you come up with the solution and get back to us via mail or Phone ([protected]) within 2 -3 days.

I have observed on 7th july that thier is continuous deduction of 1/2 rs daily on calling customer care they said that some service was active on my no. Whereas I not got any msg regarding so and even after request of stoping the service till now 13july they have not stopped it and continuously deducting my amount and even after continuous complain they are neither doing any action nor stopping deduction. And now almost 1year has passed and this things are happening continuously.

Hi, ..I am using airtel prepaid connection...i have activated the GPRS pack(Rs.185) two months back...after two months without giving the alert message/warning they have zeroed my balance which was Rs.225..Previously for the past three years i used to get the message before three days saying that your internet pack is going to be over in three days...also this time i coulndt check the usage by dialling *123*10#...when i complained about that and asked to refund the balance, they said its not possible and from next time onwards we see to that it doesn't happen again...kindly help me

Airtel online payment done even after 5 hours there is no conformation or booking id provided.

I paid 1199 Amount for new Airtel DTH connection using Net banking I got Transaction ID from the sales person (Thirupati) who contacted me when I send SMS to 54325.

Following is the email I got before I made the online payment.

After making the Payment I got the Transaction ID([protected]) from him; He told me that I will get Booking id through mail. But till know after 4 hours I didn’t received any communication back from them. When I tried to contact the customer care I am not able to get the right person to get my Booking id. Tech support team (12148) say I need to contact customer support team(12150). They say I need to contact sales and marketing department but I am not able to get them.

I never thought this Poor Customer support will be provided by Airtel Too bad from there end. Please never ever try to get Airtel DTH( The worst customer care I never saw).

My AIRTEL DTH customer id is [protected]. While subscribing for the service I was warned about the poor customer service. But foolishly I went ahead and had the DTH installed. After a week, the signal suddenly went off on 02.05.10. The customer service was called and as usual we were asked to check the cable connections etc. After conforming to them that everything is in order, we were told to hold on as the call would be transferred to the technical team. As we were holding on, the call got disconnected. This was repeatededly happening. Finally on 03.05.10, I again rang the customer service and asked them to first log a complaint. Complaint no. 2613376 was logged. However the complaint was not resolved till today when I logged another complaint 2633964 saying that the earlier service request has not been resolved till date.
Also tried calling the nodal officer on 044 [protected]. A message keeps comiing stating that they are busy attending to other custoners and to try later. This either means that there are a lot of complaints or they are just avoiding customer complaints.
An advice to all out there. Kindly think twice before subscribing to the AIRTEL DTH.

Airtel wrong balance detection

Hello Sir/ Madam

This is my complaint for wrong balance detection from my main account. This is 3rd time i suffering from this problem and today on 1st may i recharge my main account with 333 Rs and at 9.37am i recharge again from my main balance of Rs. 5 ( daily internet pack). after that i start using the internet pack and after some time i saw, my my main account bal. show only 212 Rs. in my main balance and this is 3rd time that my balance detected and i strongly recommend you that please take corrective action on it and i'm not satisfy with your action and service. my Mob. no. is +[protected].

I Sajid amin From Jammu and Kashmir (district Rajouri) facing problems using the Airtel services from 21-04-2012. to till now. i can't use Internet services due to ferquntly break down network. i can't make a call and even recive a call to listen clearly these day's .Any requst we sent to airtel network processing is very late.

Airtel overbilling

My last airtel bill number [protected] for my number [protected] shows 3g usage charges of Rs 794. I never activated 3g on my phone. This is happening second time and last time also extra charges were waived off on complaining with the complaints board. I will not tolerate this fraudulent behaviour and request airtel to quash the charges along with an apology otherwise i will drag them to the consumer court. A similar complaint i lodged with my other number [protected] also but there has been no response till now. This is my last request to airtel. If they do not revert in 24 hrs i assume they are not bothered and will handle in my own way.

Airtel billing issue - baseless dsl charges

May I know on what basis airtel are charging about rs. 700 every month as dsl charges. My internet plan is of rs. 1699 and I had purchased wifi router from airtel itself worth rs. 1500 or more, then for what reason an additional amount for dsl usage is made of rs. 646. On my bill. Airtel should only add service or vat tax in additon to the total of my plan of rs. 1699. I need a proper feedback on behalf of this bill or I am definitely going to complain this issue to consumer court because I had purchased dsl router but not as free gift from airtel so there should not be any charges with respect to dsl usage.

I ve applied a broadband connection in airtel through a airtel executive(Name :SARAVANAN Mob. No.[protected]) on 11/07/2011. I gave him one passport size photo, address proof, and Rs.1000 cash. He gave me a customer enrollment form (CEF No: CH 1221075) n said that i ll get broadband connection in 5 days. After 5 days i called his no. but it was in not reachable till today. So kindly do the need full to solve this problem.

Airtel unasked value added service charge

inspite of my repeated -stop dnd instructions and complaint to customer care airtel is bullying customers by unasked for friendship chats and ring tone charges and periodic renewals without getting any confirmation from me. this results in sweeping away from our top up charges quietly stripping off our valuable talk time at odd hours, my frequent resort to their customer care nos only results in whiling away music and conducted tour thru their unwanted departments. at no point of time thier operator assistants come on line to mitigate our problems, without asking us my ac is reduced by charges for friend chats/ring tones/call charges even for our complaint calls. our stop instructions go unheeded ith voive record often repeating your option is not clear/your time is over.

Airtel poor after sales

I have purchased a new DTH Service with recordable HD STB on 16.03.2012,
The System has stopped working since 06.04.2012, showing an error 001.
Complaint was registered on the same day, with request No. [protected] (Happy code 589)
then an engr. visited same evening, but could not rectify the problem, stating it was a software issue.

Following day another Engr. came and said that the software is fine but the Balun is defective.
After a few hours anothe Engr. (Mr.Deepak Goyal) came. He changed the Balun but the problem
was nor resolved. Then he said that the set top box was defective and it had to be replaced, and it will take
2 - 3 days to replace the same.

Repeated requests/complaints have not brought any result, and daily some one calls and enquires, but has
not visited or rectified the problem.

Today again discussing with Deepak Goyal on Ph No. [protected], he asked us to call the Local
Faridabad office and to enquire for the same. The local Faridabad office on Ph. No. [protected]
was very rude and said it will take about a week, and you can call any one you want and do what ever
you like, and hung up the phone on us, and did not answer the call again on repeated attempts.

Today I am told on your Customer Care (Complaint No. [protected], Happy Code 564) that it will be
resolved by 11th. 1515 Hrs.

I am waiting for the above timing after which my patience will run out.

I hope the problem is resolved by that time.

Airtel illegal charging

Airtel continues to harass me ([protected]). Despite my complaints earlier several times, again a service NIGHTLIFEP_1.5 service has been activated without my consent or request and charges deducted from my balance. Strangely enough the enquiry at *121# says that no services are presently activated. BUT the amounts are being deducted.
On my previous complaint, the concerned Nodal Officer had assured me that it would not happen again but the assurance proves to be lie time & again.
I am sure it is happening to thousands of other customers too and the Airtel is making illegal money in millions in this way. I am afraid of recharging my Airtel connection and may shift to other telecom company instead.
I hope the Airtel will stop harassing me and help me in continuing with Airtel.
I request that the amounts deducted be reversed, the defaulting officials be made answerable for the lapse, and my phone should be completely kept out of any such unsolicited value added services. For continuous harassment & Airtel's repeated fraudulent action, Airtel is also liable to pay me suitable amount of compensation .
I have been repeatedly requesting Airtel not to activate VAS without my asking for it, but Airtel gives a damn to my request.
Is there any method, VAS services can be blocked until these are asked for?

It is a matter of great concern that, Airtel continues to harass me ([protected]). Without my consent or request, a value added service was activated and charges deducted from my balance.
16 Jan 2012- VAS Rs 10.00 charged for Bachchan Ki Blog Seva
Due to fear of such repeated harassment, I am afraid of recharging my Airtel connection and may shift to other telecom company instead.
I hope the Airtel will stop harassing me and help me in continuing with Airtel.

Airtel continues to harass me ([protected]). Just within a couple of days after my previous complaint, again some value added services were activated without my consent or request and charges deducted from my balance.
On my previous complaint, the concerned Nodal Officer had assured me that it would not happen again but the assurance proved to be lie.
I am sure it is happening to thousands of other customers too and the Airtel is making illegal money in millions in this way. I am afraid of recharging my Airtel connection and may shift to other telecom company instead.
I hope the Airtel will stop harassing me and help me in continuing with Airtel.

It is a matter of great concern that, Airtel continues to harass me ([protected]). Without my consent or request, the following value added services were activated and charges deducted from my balance. I lodged grievance and request for refund at 121 as well as with Nodal Officer, and Nodal Officer-har via email. They do not bother and keep me waiting. The details are as below:
20 aug 2011- VAS Rs 2.00 charged
22August 2011 - Airtel Radio activated, Rs. 10 charged
30 aug 2011- Cricket pack activated VAS Rs. 2 charged
31 aug 2011- Voice cricket activated, Rs. 5 charged
I hope the Airtel will stop harassing me and help me in continuing with Airtel.

It is a matter of great regret that just after attending to my grievance, the Airtel again deducted amounts from my balance towards a unsolicited stupid service of Airtel NIGHTLIFE P during 11.4.2012 to 13.4.2012.
My sufferings thus continues which causes not only monetary loss but also mental harassment. I am sure Airtel will be good enough to compensate for the losses and harassment.

Airtel continues to harass me. On 22 August 2011 again another service Airtel Radio was activated on my No. [protected] and Rs. 10 deducted. If I do not check my balance every hour, I will not even know how much I have been illegally charged by the smart Airtel people.
I request that the deducted sum should be credited back along with a suitable amount for compensation for unnecessary harassment due to Airtel's repeated fraudulent action.

This is a big racket of Airtel. They simply deduct money after sending message saying that some or the other game is downloaded, although no thing is downloaded. If you call customer care, they try to blame us as this usually happens when we are browsing the internet.
They tell us that we have clicked on something to subscribe the game. If you call their bluff and complaint loudly, they usually put back the money.
This is a serious problem. Thousands of people are being duped. Only a few are raising their voice. We need a address to complaint to someone.
We need to take some action... Either a PIL or a complaint to TRAI.

hell yeah in sri lanka it costs 2/=for a sms which z 10cts in all other networks...no 3G even we requested..limited mms facility cannot mms emails...low call quality...brake up the lines...you cannot say line are busy coz dialog is still good even millions use it...we dont hve a customer complaint unit...so at least please notify airtel lanka aboit this mess...thanks

Airtel fradulant billing after disconnection of postpaid connection

I came to USA on Jan, 27 2011. I have disconnected my service before coming to USA. My airtel number is [protected]. I was continuously getting billed for my number eventhought i was not using it. I made a complaint with customer care and they said my number is temporarily disconnected and it will be disconnected permanently soon. However unil Sep.2011 i was getting the airtel bill. Regarding this i made several complaints and phone call to customer care. i have e-mail proof stating that my airtel connection is disconnected. Suddenly i got a letter from district majestrate stating that i need to make a payment for my airtel connection. i got very much annoyed after seeing this letter. I need a proper explaination from Airtel why i have received a complaint from Majestrate and get this issue resolved soon as possible.

Airtel billing

I am an airtel subscriber. my no is [protected]. Last bill that i received of my post paid number shows 3G internet usage charges of about rs 600. I never activated 3G on my phone. Regarding this i lodged a complaint with airtel on 20/3/2012 to waive off the extra charges incurred. Reference number is [protected]. Airtel did not respond all called me to clarify the issue. No communication was done from their side but the webpage displaying complaint staus says that the issue has been resolved. on 26/3/2012 called the airtel executive on 121 but he held my call for about half hour and did not respond back. This state of dealing the customers is pathetic and seemingly fraudulent. I request you to look into the matter and get my extra bill waived off.

Your prompt response shall be highly appreciated.

My name Nirdesh kumar. Aritel Mobile number - [protected].

I have airtel 998 plan {one year}. That plan was competed on 12 Feb. 2009. 10’Th Feb. I was told to 121. Please stop my connection. But they renew that plan. I have complained to 121 or 198. On 198 I discussed with Mr. Robin. After log discussion Robin commit me Free clip charge three month 200/Rs waiver. After this I have complained on 1 May for this . Request Id- [protected] and Interaction with Sharma and Neha. They have same commitment with me. I have received many message for 121, Airtel and 247.these lot of reference id- [protected], [protected], [protected], In next Bill no waiver. There NO coordination between 121, Aitel and 247 and Billing department. I have again complained on 9th june 2009 . same matter and interaction with Mr. Bhardwaj and Vivek request id- 9010601. Again same commitment with me. Reference Id-[protected], [protected], [protected], [protected] . This month I receive bill with same charge . In Airtel no coordination between departments. Please make one department. Please solve my problem. That is again worst experience with Aritel.

i had subcribed for 3 months broadband 256kbps 3GB download per month for Rs. 1800+taxes. started from 27th of OCT-2009 and will end on 27th-JAN-2010,
i was happy with the connection and service.
suddenly i got a bill of 1011 Rs. on Feb 5th which is just for 9 days, 28th-jan-2010 to 4th-feb-2010, when i enquired with airtel custcare they said i have exeded download limit by almost 2GB, then i came to know my usage in this period is almost 3GB and for these 9 days they had put the download limit for just 1GB, this billing period change made me to pay extra 1011 Rs.
i used 3months for Rs. 1800+tax paying in advance.
Now i have to pay Rs. 1011 just for 9 days, this is really disgusting.
i am really unhappy with the loss, and i'm going to disconnect airtel broadnand.

hi,
Initially i had opted for advance rental broadband scheme, which says pay 5-months bill in advance and get 6th month free internet usage.
At the end of 6th month i got a call from customer care and they asked me whether to continue with advance rental plan or the normal plan...
I confirmed that i will go with advance rental plan and i'm ready to pay 5-months rent in advance...
when i was expecting the bill of 5-months advance scheme, , to my surprise i received a bill of 931Rs.
since then i'm calling customer-care but they are not responding properly...some say u have to pay the bill...some say it has been activated from next month so you have to pay this month bill...but the fact is it has been activated on 28th of feb only...please take necessary action and resolve this issue as soon as possible...

Airtel airtel broadband billing harassment - unjust practices

This is regarding disconnection and billing issues with Airtel Broadband. Tel No: [protected] Account No: [protected]. In this post I will not only talk about issues I have been facing but also highlight things about Airtel practices which everyone should be aware of. I got to know them only after burning my hands with this issue. I hope this post also helps other users deal with their Airtel issues

Issues & Sequence of events:
I had visited Airtel Outlet @ 100ft on 12 Nov 2011 to give a disconnection request. I duly filled in the form, returned the instrument to the executive. I also cleared whatever outstanding was there for that month since that is mandatory before they accept any disconnection request. I ask the representative do i need to do anything else as per their process and she said nothing else is required and it will get done in 7 working days. Despite following all their process my connection was not disconnected and I got a bill next month. I again went to the outlet submitted a complaint. Instead of complaint being resolved I was billed again and again and every time it happened I filed a complaint. Finally in Jan 2012 they disconnected the connection but the bill had accrued by then to 3k. Since then I have been getting calls endlessly to pay up. Infact they go to such indecent extent which has been reported by many in this forum. To me it happened a few days back wherein a very rude Airtel representative calls up and say you need to make the payment. I try to explain her the issue. She is no mood to listen, insteads threatens me with an ultimatum whether I will pay or no. I said No and then the foul language that started she said she would call up all my contacts and tell them about this. Next moment most of my friends and relatives get calls and this lady starts blasting them very rudely and threatened them that actions will be taken against them also if they don't ask me to pay the remaining amount.

Things that I did so far

I followed their disconnection process to the very end by visiting the relationship center, paying the outstanding amount and returning of instruments
I have submitted close to 9 complaints (Complaint Nos :7186048, 8681384, 9634060, 9990164, [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected] )
I have visited the Airtel Relationship center 5 times in this past 3 months
Cant recollect the endless number of calls I got from various departments from Airtel
As per airtel website I even followed their process of escalation. First wrote to Nodal Officers at Nodal.[protected]@airtel.in as I stay in Bangalore (Complaint Nos:[protected], [protected])
Lastly after this indecent call which happened 2 days back I have wrote again to Nodal officers and to Appellate Officers which is the next level of escalation.

I have been a customer of Airtel since a decade and frankly I was very shocked with this entire experience. I really did have a very good opinion about Airtel. I intend to fight it out. Will update all on the outcome.

Lastly I leave with a list of points that you folks need to be aware of when facing issues with Airtel

When you give a disconnection request, Airtel doesnt give you any acknowledgement receipt. So you are screwed from day one as you dont get a proof that you actually did submit the request. In short you are at their mercy
Secondly always remember that once you give a complaint they will try your no. thrice which they do it as its mandatory Airtel process. They do but incase you dont pickup either because u were in traffic or in a meet, they will close the call
Whatever complaints you raise, irrespective of whether it is resolved or not by default it gets closed without your knowledge
Whether you place a complaint on phone or you visit the relationship center you will never get a copy of the complaint nor will they mark your email in cc with the complaint. All you get is just a complaint nos. If you look above i have plenty of those complaint nos.
There are broadly 4departments in Airtel which call you. First is customer care, backend team, billing team and Collection team. Believe me, none of this departments talk to each other on a particular issue. So for instance if you have raised a complaint on billing, your complaint would be registered but the collection dept will not know anything about it. They will just go by data and the data shows that you are a defaulter and thats it as days progress you will hounded like a wanted criminal. So be aware of this
There are two escallation bodies of Airtel viz, Nodal and Appellate Authority. I wasnt aware of these bodies until about a month back. Do reach out to them too.
The most important of all. I bet you would not know this. if you want to talk to customer care or nodal or appellate authority or for that matter any Airtel representative the IVR asks you for mobile no or account no. without which you can not get in touch with any representative on phone at all. No here is the surprise part. When your phone gets disconnected which is the case that I have, your phone no. and account gets deactivated. So if you key in these numbers in IVR it will state incorrect entry and promptly disconnect after 2 tries. So folks the message is that once you have initiated discontinuing a service you are screwed totally as there is no way to reach the helpline at all. Even today when I write emails to nodal and appellate I get a response wherein they also state you can reach us in the stated numbers but the fact is you cant. You just wont be able to get past the IVR. You can try this experiment. Try getting in touch with a customer care representative without keying in your telephone or account no. I bet you wont be able to do so
Lastly dont have the illusion that visiting the Airtel relationship center personally and give a piece of your mind will make things happens. All of their staff are all young folks out of college including their managers. All complaint you tell them, they will just log it into the system. You just dont know whom to escalate to when things are not getting resolved.

I hope everyone finds the post useful. As for me I still awaiting a response from Nodal guys which is expected next Tuesday. I like to thank the forum because as I searched, I realised i wasnt the only Airtel customer having this experience and lot many have faced or undergoing the same. Its really sad to see such a reputed company smashing all the goodwill it established over the years blow up in smoke.

The issue has indeed been resolved. I only wish Airtel had acted far earlier. The main cause for all the hassles is that somewhere there is no co-ordination between the internal departments of Airtel viz. Backend Team, Billing Team, Collection Team. Infact the collection team was saying that had I delayed the payment they would have sent a court notice. It doesnt matter how geniune the customer's complaint is, the collection team only see your payment as outstanding and that you are a defaulter. This happens because they only go by what the system shows and total absence of synergy between other teams. The net result is that the customer has to suffer with upteem rounds to customer service centers, infinite list of complaints nos, foul langauge and hounded by frequent insensitive calls which finally results in a court notice...
I only hope that they do address this issue in future. There is also the problem of IVR not allowing entry to non-members like me who's account is deactivated but has billing issues.

I have been an Airtel customer for a decade and they always had good customer etiquette. Infact their installation of broadand is one of the fastest and quickest. I still remember Airtel representative came the very day at night 9:30 to install the connection because I was available only at that time. Its only in the recent past its changed so dramatically. I hope they do correct this.

Anyways thanks Airtel for finally resolving my issues.

Airtel is thw worst ever connection for broadband.

the technical dept over the phone doesnt listen properly about plan change or name change. Neither do they file a complaint properly. they can only bloody charge money to talk to the customer care who are ###in useless. they've not ripped me for 8400 because of their carelessness and not changing the plan. ###in losers!

I had taken an Airtel Broadband Service. While using it in between the connection goes off. I called up the Airtel Broadband services they say that there might be a problem at my end. When I told them to come and check, they didn't come despite calling them again and again. Its been a week and the people still haven't showed up.

Airtel wrong gprs charge

Hello,
I am airtel postpaid customer ([protected]) since 5 years. I am in international roaming since last 7 months. Last month, I got the bill with gprs charge approx rs 8k. When I came out from india, gprs was not activated.

I am continuing follow-up with airtel customer care via email and phone from usa it self. (Req number - [protected]). They replied - on 31 dec, 2012 they activated gprs on trial basis. And since I am on international roaming, I used the gprs, so I have to pay gprs charges. I have smart phone and mobile apps automatic use the internet if gprs activated. It is not my fault if they activated gprs without informing me.

I was not aware when gprs was activated until I got the airtel bill. Now I am sending mail to 121 mail id, I am not getting response except acknowledge. And customer care is so helpless, they have only sentence - :"you have to pay"

Every time, I am getting same response from Airtel. It seems that they are not reading my mail completely. Airtel activated paid service without my consent and now they are asking charge .

Airtel unprofessionalism in address verification for postpaid sim

I have recently bought airtel postpaid sim. They have told them prefer for address verification is on week end or in week days before 9 AM. Customer care executive said fine. No body has come for address verification on my preferred time and they dis-connected my outgoing call without any notice. What a un professional behaviour. I could not believe airtel can be so much dumb. Earlier i had quiet high regards for them.
When i call ed again customer care about for outgoing call blockage, they said i have to give again request for address verification and i need to go to their office. What a ### they can not take request on phone. I have wasted so much time running behind these idiots. God bless new future customers of airtel.

My mobile number totally disconnected and no reponse from airtel. No one has clue. Customer care say we do not have enough data and request is pending with address verification dept. When i asked give contact number of some one in address verification, as usual customer care say we can not give contact details. As per them i have to wait till some one contacts me.

I think only thing will happen is soon i will get monthly bill from them even if i have not used their connection. For bill payment airtel idioits are going to give many calls. God bless to airtel customers.

I kept on getting call from airtel saying they are working on it but unfortunately no progress, just talk.
I have been told to stay home today at 9AM so that address verification can be done. But as usual no one has come.

Airtel cancellation of service

Dear sir,
I want to cancel airtel landline and braodband connection. So I called 121 and filed complaint. My complaint no.[protected]. I got repeated calls from your agent to retain the connection. But I made clear that I dont want to retain the connection. The agent said that the connection will be terminated very soon. After 10 days I called 121 again but I found out that airtel retained the connection without my consent. This is very frustating. I want my connection terminated immediately. I feel very bitter experience with airtel.

getting repeated calls from airtel.dont know how many times i have to confirm myself.connection is still not deactivated.

just got another message from airtel.they sent me another request no-[protected].what the hell is going on?this is the third request no they sent me.i suppose airtel will bankrupt if they have to cancel a single service.i donot care any more.i wont pay a single penny as i do not use their service anymore

And The Harassment Continues
went to airtel relationship store.They dont accept cancellation application.so they sent me to another retail store.They also said the same and advised to call customer care.The customer care lady told me that my previous request-[protected] has been closed.so had to make a new request -[protected].The lady said this is final and blah blah blah.just do not understand why they close my previous request without my consent.the customer care is totally useless and so are the retail stores.just do not understand if processing for new connection takes only 48 hrs, why cancellation takes forever.i feel cheated by airtel.i regret the decision of talking airtel broadband connection.any help from any one is really appreciated.just want to get rid of this garbage as soon as possible.

Airtel airtel bills getting generated after discontinuation of connection

Airtel discontinued my broadband connection for late payment of dues. I paid the dues later, and I assumed the connection is already disconnected, but bills are getting generated again. There was no communication as to when / why they reactivated connection. So why should the bills be generated?

This was the mail I got earlier regarding discontinuation:
Dear Sir/Madam,

It has been a pleasure for us to serve you in the past. We have always looked forward to your continuous support and feedback, which has helped us innovate and bring products and services best suited to your growing needs.

As per our records you were holding an airtel account no. [protected], which got discontinued. We understand that you are no longer availing our services and we wish to seek you back on our network. We are sure that we would be able to erase the concerns that caused you to leave our network in the recent past.

As a member of the airtel family, you’ve always held a special place for us, and we wish to rebuild the strong relationship we once enjoyed. We are committed to making your rejoining our network a delightful and fruitful experience.

After I received this mail on 23/12/2011, I paid the bill for the dues and never wanted to continue the connection again as I already left the city. But lately, after this mail, bills were generated for 3 months till current month. As clearly stated in the above mail, they had disconnected and there was no mail communication on resuming/reactivating the connection. Then why would the bills be generated, when the connection is already disconnected? I called up the local airtel office guy last month and he said, it was a mistake in generating bills. He said he will terminate the connection, if not terminated yet, and wont happen again. But the bills were generated for this month as well. AIRTEL tell me how many times, a complaint can be made? Is there really customer service with Airtel? Never in my life, I would like to take Airtel connections again for any matter. FRUSTRATING!
